MSI 5600xt serious troubles!

i have an MSI 5600xt card that i am having strange problems with....i find that it works fine with standard VGA drivers,ie just browsing windows, the net ans stuff....but no games can work obviously.now.my trouble strarts whenever i install any NVIDIA drivers, after installing and restarting it freezes after post or just gives a jumbled image but doesnt take me near to the desktop.but go back to safe mode and it loads up fine!...
ive tried several different forceware driver packs, some omega drivers, even older detonators..some giving different results after post but none making it to the desktop..i'd like if possible to try flashing the cards BIOS in the hope that this might work, but i cant find any to download on the main site and live update isnt offering me any either?   is there another place i can get VGA BIOS updates or am i screwed?
thanks for ya time

  • MSI 270X Gaming troubles!(black screen on boot/Fan speed on max)

Hello. I bought a brand new videocard - MSI 270X Gaming. But I got troubles with the computer boot. I start the computer, i got the greenting sound of Windows 7(everything's work), but i don't have anything on the screen - pitch black! And the fan speed is max. That's it!!! In order to make it work, I'm suppose to unplug the card from the PCI-e slot and put in back in. When i do this, it work fine... until the next time I have to turn on my computer. Again the same story. Only removing and putting back the card in the PCI slot works. I updated my MB Bios to latest ver. - don't work. Clear CMOS - don't work.
To make sure the problem is in the card, not in the PC, i'v putted another videocard and it's working nice
So guys if you have any ideas how to make this card work fine, please tell me. My other option is to return it to the store!

Quote from: Svet on 17-December-13, 00:33:47
oki, have you tried to switch the card vbios to the other one and to see how it goes?
OK, didin't do that. If it not removing my warranty, tell me how to do it?! Please!

  • MSI GT70 Serious Issues

I own this version of the msi gt70 gaming laptop which I purchased from Canada Computers approx a 8months ago.
ca.msi.com/product/nb/GT70-0NC-002US (intel i7 3610 and no raid micro ssds)
[**sorry not allowed to post external links**]
When the laptop is turned on, it is utterly unresponsive, but in a weird way.  Cant click and drag the boxes on the desktop, cant right click and have any options show up, cant click the start button, NOTHING works.  If i either press the windows key which opens up the start menu or open up  task manager everything runs fun for a little bit, but will continue to act up randomly such as erasing what has been typed in the url bar.  Extremely frustrating.
These issues have been going on since day one but as it took months to save up money for this laptop I didn't want to accept it was broken, and worked fine as long as I opened up task manager every time I turned it on(This includes hibernating, restarting, sleep) until its been causing some serious problems lately.
Sounds alot like a virus, but I feel I've eliminated that option(always had virus protection/ran multiple ones lately btw)
What I've done to try fix it:
1)Fresh install off the msi recovery disks I made
2)Fresh install of a different copy of windows 7
    3)Redownloaded and updated all drivers
    4)Rebooted system using windows 8
5)NEW HARDDRIVE: put msi recovery disks on this
6)Put a different version of windows 7 on this new harddrive
    7)flashed bios
    8)Ran more virus scans
    Same problem, same issue.
Ive put the old harddrive back in, rebooted from the msi recovery disks and plan to bring it to Canada Computers as I have a 3 year warrenty, but before that,
I really hope one of you wonderful people could help me out, give me some insight as to what is wrong, or if I should be contacting MSI soon(probably 8 months ago to be honest...)

Have you checked your temperatures using CoreTemp and MSI Afterburner to verify it's not overheating?
I will say, that it does still sound like a virus, and a very nasty one at that.
In my time, I've seen some that really are very nasty. There was one that I saw that actually was able to be transmitted via the graphics connection to the monitor, and was able to store itself inside the memory of the monitor. As strange as it might sound, it did, and it could be re-transmitted back from the monitor. And it did some very strange things.
If temperature is not an issue, my best guess given what you've done, is that you've run into a very very nasty virus. I assume that there are no processes being shown in the Task Manager that are eating up all your CPU cycles? If not, then yeah, probably a very nasty virus. And if that's the case, I'd be worried that anything you had connected or used with the laptop might be infected. Even mice, keyboards, etc....just because they all hold some amount of memory, and it could be in that as well.

  • [MSI P965 Platinum] troubles booting

    HI,
    My config:
    MSI P965 platinum
    C2D E6400
    WD800jb pata
    Maxtor sata
    GF7900GS
I am having difficulties booting properly from my sata drive. At the moment two drives are connected to my mainboard: sata & pata (and dvdrw by the way)
When i turn on my pc it says: "reboot and select proper boot device". When I press enter the system directly boots normally.
My boot sequence is: dvdrw, sata.
When I change the sequence to boot only from sata, the problem isnt solved.
The only way to solve the problem is to disconnect the pata drive. Then the mainboard wil boot without having to press a key...
Does anybody have a solution?! I want to connect both drives to my mainboard but i dont want to press enter during startup!

When you say you have to press a key during start-up, is that when it lists your P-ata devices??? It has to do that, just press the button...
I'm currently on a S-ATA drive, and I had no trouble at all... The only problems I had, was making it recognize my DVD-drive, as I have it as master, with an P-ATA drive as slave (on the cable)... To make it see both I had to use the jumpers on the back of the drives, and set the HDD to master manually (no cable-select)...
Have you installed Windows on that S-ATA disk?? If not, it might be saying that, because it wants a drive with Windows on it
Oh, and congratulations with the board
    Best Regards

  • Serious troubles with my WRT110 router

Hello! This problem all started when I upgraded the machine I'm typing this on to Windows 7 Ultimate.  No matter what I did, it would not connect to the existing network. I finally found a way to get it to connect by entering the router's PIN number, but it effectively created an entirely new network. My problem lies here. I can create new open networks just fine, but if I try to create an encrypted network it will not work -- the computer won't even detect the router. I need an encrypted network because I'm required by law to have one in my line of work, and I have no idea how to set it up. The network is comprised of this machine I'm using, a Macbook, and a TiVo DVR, as well as my laptop which is in for repairs. I might also add that I'm having trouble with the software that came with the router. Ideally, I'd have a secure network with an easily memorable password so other machines can join. I have spent many hours on this and I'm truly at a loss, and some step by step instructions would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks in advance,
    ~Eric
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. You should always access the web interface through a wired connection. Through a wireless link you may accidentally configure the router of your neighbor. And of course you should also never make changes on the wireless settings through a wireless link. Thus, always use a wired connection only for this purpose.
    2. It does not affect your network as it is. It only changes the router configuration. If you change the wireless configuration of the router it will, of course, affect all existing wireless links to the router (if any).
    3. You should not choose a "easily memorable password". That's always a bad idea. The wireless passphrase is usually only entered once on each wireless device to establish the connection to the router. The wireless device usually remembers the passphrase. Thus it is better to choose a very strong passphrase, e.g. a random generated longer passphrase. That is much more secure.

  • Serious trouble with Videora!!!!!!!!

I have been using videora and it works fine for movies of about the length of 20 to 60 minutes but if I convert 2 hour movies or music videos that I downloaded from a website then after conversion slowly the video starts to come before the sound or vice versa. I really need help. What should I do???????

Have you ever tried a program called iSquint? I have had no trouble whatsoever with that program for putting videos into iPod format and then adding them to my iPod. I'm not familiar with Videora, but you should give iSquint a shot if you haven't already. It's freeware.

  • Serious trouble..

I hope you can help me, you're kinda my last hope..
A couple of nights ago my macbook (running tiger) froze, I restarted by holding down the on/off button for a few seconds.. I went to sleep and the next morning the screen still showed the grey background with a black apple.. Start up screen..
Now i tried restarting, didn't work, I tried starting in safe mode; no luck.. I tried booting off of the install disk and only got a screen telling me I need to restart.. I've tried everything I even took the hard drive out of my macbook, connected it to a pc and saved my pictures and such, erased the disk with MacDrive and now my MacBook doesn't find the hard drive..
I can't get past the startup screen or the screen telling me to reboot...
I've also tried entering single user-mode but am unable to write anything.
I'm at the end of my rope here.. Can anyone figure out what to do???
My MacBook is only a year old but the warranty has expired

If you boot from the OS X Installer Disc and you get a kernel panic it means there's a serious hardware failure. It could be the hard drive, memory, or motherboard.
You cannot format the drive in a PC and expect it to work on the Mac. MacDrive cannot partition the drive properly. You would be better off using another Intel Mac to repartition and format the drive. If you are able to do so then at least you will eliminate the drive as the problem and can reinstall it in the computer.
If you have the original software discs that came with the computer try booting from Installer Disc One and after the chime press and hold down the "D" key until the diagnostics screen appears. Run the extended diagnostics several times. Note down any error messages you may receive.

  • Having serious troubles with clips on timelines. Any thoughts?

So, I'm having some serious issues with the timelines in Premiere. It's making it impossible to do any work.
Sometimes it shows clips where they definitely aren't, and then I'll click on them and then it will remember they aren't there.
Sometimes when I scroll left or right or up or down in the timeline, the clips just hang.
And other super screwy things. See the video below.
Things I've tried that haven't worked:
    Updated MacOS
Updated Premiere CC 2014 to the latest version
Cleared the media cache, both with the button inside premiere and manually
I can't copy everything into a new project, because I'm collaborating with others on this project by saving it to a Dropbox folder and we all take turns opening it. Neither of them are having these issues, and my computer is actually more powerful than theirs.
I'm using a latest-gen MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz with 8GB of RAM and a solid state drive.
    Any thoughts?

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.

  • MSI GT780DX Serious keyboard issue - Help Needed

    Hello everyone,
I have an MSI GT780DX and a few months ago it started to fail the x key when I pressed it...
After sometime it started failing the W key...
Then it was the arrow down key...
So I bought another keyboard and I managed to install it in place, the led lights worked just fine but I'm with a terrible issue now.
The keys are all wrong, for example the space bar = backspace when I press it, the a = ; the  j=l and so on... all the keys are mixed up...
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it?
My notebook is the msi gt780dx with Win 7 (its the original Win7 that came with the notebook)... The new keyboard has the same part number but its symbol for the windows key is different (it's the Win 8 logo)
Please any help would be gladly appreciated.
    Best Regards.

Hi I tried resetting the EC and no change...
Then I try installing Win 8  but at the serial number screen the keys are already messed up...
Tried with ubuntu also and the same.
I'm assuming its not an OS related problem...
And yes, warranty was already off when I switched the keyboards.
    Any other ideas?
Does anyone also know where can I find a Win7 keyboard for this notebook?
    I'm running out of options...

  • My iPod is in serious trouble

I think I am going to have to send for a replacement. My iPod is having serious issues. At first, it worked just fine. Then iTunes wouldn't recongnize the iPod but windows would and it wouldn't update. It said internal manager error or something. I tried just about ALL of the troubleshooting suggestions that applied to my problems and none of them worked. In fact, I think it made is worst. Now it is frozen in a white screen and I can't do anything. Not even reset it. HELP!!!
    fifth generation iPod   Windows 2000

your comment does not help in any way to solve her problem. people complain so much about how its stupid apple sends out ipods that don't work and blah blah blah, but do you seriously think they can make 42 million ipods and not have a single one with any problems? life has problems. deal with it. that's why you come here and have other people try and help you or you call technical support.
to answer your question, if you have gone through all the troubleshooting steps (5r's, etc.) and still have this problem, then either call apple (1800myappple) or go to depot.info.apple.com/ipod and set up a dispatch to have your ipod sent in for service.

  • MSI k9a2 platinum trouble

I came home from work yesterday after installing a vista update on shutdown. turned the computer on and walked away. came back and it was blank everything was seemingly on but nothing on the screen. So I had to do a hard reset. Took a few times but finally I got a screen telling me that something on the north bridge I believe (bad recollection of what was on there I was tired and angry) failed due to overclocking... now I had tried to overclock this motherboard a LONG time ago. results were undesirable so I reset it back to factory defaults and uninstalled the overclocking software that came with it. now I was just playing some games and had a critical error (no time to read it) that resulted in the PC not booting up at all no beep no post just turns on everything spins but it seems like it is in a perpetual loop of restarts.. any and all help would be great. Email me if you know how to fix it or if you know for sure I am screwed.
seems like just the video card is resetting nothing else slows and speed up besides that

  • Help installing MSI 5600XT-TD 256MB

As you can see in my sig, I currently have a PCI card.  This is my first AGP so bare with me.
    1. I did not install the AGP driver yet because I was only using a PCI video card.  Should I install the AGP driver first before I do anything?  I found this driver from the MSI site (SiS AGP Driver version: 7.2.0.1170)
    2. Can you tell me if the bios settings are correct: AGP Aperture Size = 256MB and AGP Fast Write = Enabled?
    3. Do I need to delete/remove the current video card from the Device Manager?  My PCI is also a Geforce so I'm wondering if I can just remove the PCI card from the mobo and install the AGP card without doing anything in the Device Manager.
    4. MSI site has the 56.63 driver while Nvidia site has the 56.72.    I know it's obvious that the nvidia driver is the latest one but it is safe to use it.
    Thanks in advance.

    BACK UP YOUR FILES
1 Download the latest  nVidia Drivers not MSI drivers. Go ahead and get the SIS AGP Drivers to have on hand..just in case. You should check Device manager to be sure they are installed. They should be, regardless but you never know who set it up before or what they did.
    2. Go to http://www.driverheaven.net and download the utility called "Driver Cleaner" Read the instructions, review them again and then follow them for driver removal.
    3. After the drivers have been removed via the Add Remove applet in control panel and you have followed the directions and used the driver cleaner utility, instead of a restart, shut down.
    4. Remove the power cord from the back of the power supply and press the power button on your case to purge any remaining power stored in the capacitors or the power supply.
    5. Making sure you take proper precautions for ESD and ground yourself by using a ground strap or by touching the chassis prior to handling any cards or components, Remove the PCI card and install the AGP card.
    6. Button it up, replace the power cord and power up the PC and enter the BIOS immediately.
    7. Change the setting for initializing the PCI card for video to AGP. AGP Aperture size should either be 64MB or 128MB. Try 64 MB first. Make sure 8X is enabled. Turn off any BIOS caching, shadowing etc. Save settings and exit.
***8. Once the PC boots to desktop, the Hardware Wizard should appear, ignore it, but don't close it, just leave it alone. Make sure your Antivirus program and any other backround apps that are not needed are terminated.
    9. Go to the location where you saved the drivers you downloaded and dbl click on the file and begin the installation. If you have problems with the installation or strange problems while scrolling in IE etc. Or 8X doesn't show up in the control panel for display properties, then you can run the SIS AGP drivers.
*** In certain instances in the past, even after removing drivers and restarting XP would replace drivers with it's own version of nVidia driver and bypass the Hardware Wizard and cocking up the installation of proper drivers. If you don't see the Hardware wizard after a restart then consider turning off Sytem Restore and then run the Driver Cleaner again. Cover your butt if you decide to do this and back up your data.

  • AthlonXP (2200+) + MSI K7T Turbo2 trouble

    Hi!, i have a huge problem that i can't solve!.  X(
I have a MSI motherboard (MSI K7T Turbo2), and have bought myself a new CPU. After looking at the newest  BIOS details on the MSI website i desided to buy an AthlonXP 2200+ (1.8GHZ - becomed supported with the latest BIOS update) but now i can't get it to work propebly.
I downloaded the latest BIOS and flashed it with the accurate flashtool that was included in the .exe file i d/l. and now to my problem:
My AthlonXP 2200+ works with the standard clockfrequenzy settings in the BIOS configuration but that configuration tells the computer that i only have a AthlonXP 1500+ (1.3GHZ) not 2200+, so then i went to  the MSI website again and looked at the "CPU support" table you had. there is says:
To get an AthlonXP 2200+ on a K7t Turbo2 motherboard to work, use these settings:
set the FSB("clock by slightly adjust")=133 and the Ratio(CPU clock ratio)=13.5 and it will work, here's my problem, i can't set the FSB to "133" in my bios, the MAX setting is "132" and i can't choose "13.5" as ratio, only "13", so i tryed using FSB=132 and Ratio=13, but then after my computer rebooted i was forced to "clear the cmos" to get the computer to start again.
so i must run the CPU as a 1500+ (1.35GHZ) using the standard settings in the frequenzy settings, and that realy sucks :(, the CPU cost me plenty of money and im a poor student with bad ecomomy and your BIOS details said that the CPU was supported ://// please help me!
This is what my computer outputs directly when booting up: (when the BIOS checks harddrives/cdroms/memory...)

I think you have to remove the jumper "J17" for FSB 133+. Consult you'r manual on where this jumper is located.
