MSI 6330 and AMD Duron 850mhz.

Hello!
I bought a msi 6330 and a AMD Duron 850mhz in May/01. Never had any stability problems... I only made on overclock to 901mhz increasing the fsb and the computer worked fine to me until now. I have a good cooler and my sys temp. after running Quake 3 Arena is 40/45ºC max. Some days ago the computer stoped booting at first time, i had to turn it of on the power unit and turn it on again. In saturday it stoped working... *puff* I have a d-led error: 1-0-0-0 -> 'Early Chipset Initialization', I guess... I've cleared the cmos, just like before... And it still doesn't work! I've took out everything, cleaned up all dust from the computer.. but it back again, and nothing! Gawd.. What can it be? Can I still use the waranty? I know that passed one year until now... It's not the first time that i have problems with msi hardware.. I bought an kt266 based mobo that didn't worked... An GeForce 2 mx 400 64sdr graphics card... I guess i'm going to change my mobos and gfx suplier! :\
I don't know what to do.. Can anyone help me or give me an advice? Thanks.

Thanx to MikNT. My KT3U2R is working with the AMD Xp 2600+333 at 166fsb.  :D
The problem was that the Fast Command for DDR was set to Ultra. This needs to be set to Normal. After that all is well.

  • MSI KT3V and T-bred 2000+

    Hi everyone!!
    I have bought a MSI KT3V and amd t-bred 2000+....
My problem is that the BIOS shows CPUtemp: 56celcius and in MB5 it shows 50celcius...
And I am wondering doesn't a AMD Thourghbred 2000+ go in 1.60v?? My sets a default in 1.65v and I can't get down to 1.60v.... WHAT IS WRONG!!!
Should I upgrade the BIOS?? What would that help to??
    Please help me!!! ? :D

1.65v is correct. I would go by the BIOS on the temps as they should be most accurate. http://www.almico.com Download Speedfan. I find most accurate for reading temps.
56c is a little hot but acceptible.

  • MSI MS-6330, AMD Duron 900 problems.

    Hi all,
Let me just start by saying I bought my computer at a trade show and i regret it very much, Not only did the "New" 52x cd burner stop working but a few days ago i go to turn on my computer and it turns on but the monitor does not. Like its not getting a signal. Besides the video card (Geforce 2 MX) being possibly dead what else should I look into, the proc?
If it is the processor that's dead does anyone know if i can put a sightly fast AMD duron in its place? like the 1.3?
I know this this board is a gateway oem but theres really nothing I can do right now about buying a better one so any help towards fixing my current one would be great

  • [AMD] MSI MS-65703 K7N2 Delta 2 LSR & AMD DURON 1800 Running at 1972mhz

HI! well i so happy with my msi MSI MS-65703 K7N2 Delta 2 LSR mobo, its sweet!
i use a lot of msi boards at work and decided to buy another one for my self.
this machine is my file server and it gets some insane traffic 35+GB a week.
i have an 1800mhz duron over clocked using dynamic overclocking on the second highest setting.totally stable @1972mhz but pc wizard and a few other appz say my max speed is 2193 anything over 2 ghz i'll be stoked with i have updated to the new bios with no problems. since i dont know durons that well what is the max i can get out of this cpu. i would rather not use dynamic overclocking and set the settings my self, so i would love some advice on this one, like voltage settings, fsb and so on. i have a monster heatsink with 2 120mm fans and 5 case fans. the highest temp ever was 92deg so i'm running way cool. plus i have some decent ram and a good power supply so i would love to get the most i can out of this machine.
    anyways thanks!

Well the informative sticky by Kingfisher roxorz! i got both my comps running great!
my K7N2 Delta 2 LSR & AMD DURON 1800 is running at a bit over 2100mhz and its solid! my cpu temp never goes over 96deg thanks to artic silver 5 and a monster heatsink. the trick is to get your mem timings solid and i also had to move my dimms around to get dual channel that made a huge diff! the new nforce chipset drivers also help.
i got my other sys a K7N2 Delta 2 LSR & AMD ATHLON XP 2200 running great @ around 2230mhz at 99deg with the gigabyte cooler pro heatsink and 3GB of supertalent pc-3200 ddr. UNF!
each sys is in the large antec pro view 1000 server case w/ 5 80mm 3200rpm case fans and w/ geforce 5200 128mb vids
    thanks MSI!

  • Freezing issues with MSI 970A-G43 and AMD FX 8320

    Hey all,
I bought my brother a new system a few days ago, but he has had serious issues with the machine crashing ever since.
The machine has had a fresh installation of Windows 7, it has all the latest drivers for both motherboard, sound, chipset and video card (Latest VGA driver tested as well as the latest Beta version)
I thought the problem might be with the VGA card, as the computer would just shut off during 3d Gaming, but it also seems to happen when surfing the internet or doing normal "2d" activities
What happens is the computer will just seemingly shut off, the LED lights on the front of the case, around the dials, start blinking and the only way to get it back up again, is to turn if off at the power supply unit and then turn it back on again.
I'll paste in what my brother sent me (As I live in the UK and can't see the machine crashing myself), he said:
I dunno what the issue is but, last night the comp just shut off in middle of game play on 3 different games, and the lights were flashing, I had to turn complete power off to the power box and back on to restart comp, I kept checking all my temps with speccy and speed fan and nothing seemed high at all, also when it shuts off and I re start it, a lot of my desktop icons move around to different spots,
Update: crashed a few times on me, once playing euro, once just browsing Internet 5 min after the first one, changed out ram just for shots and giggles and ran euro on ultra for about 5 min and crashed. I dl a gpu monitor gadget, was accurate on temp but said the gpu was 0% but with just Internet would randomly jump to 99% or 40% then back to 0 and would stay and eventually crash
    Spec is:
    AMD FX-8320 3.5GHZ EIGHT CORE
    500GB SATA III 6GB/S 7200RPM 16MB
    COOLERMASTER SEIDON 120M WATER COOLER
    4Gb DDR3 / 1600 MHZ MEMORY
    MSI 970A-G43 AMD 970 CROSSFIRE AM3+ DDR3 USB 3.0 SATA
    CORSAIR 500 WATTS CX500 V2 80 PLUS POWER SUPPLY
ASUS XONAR DG 5.1 CHANNELS PCI XONAR DG SOUND CARD
    AMD RADEON 7750 2GB PCI-E
There was a concern I did have when I did search earlier, via a thread on Tomshardware in which a similiar board had issues with the FX8350's wattage going above the stated 125 watts and causing the board to freeze.
It's a different board/chip, but I wonder if the wattage of the CPU goes above 125W and causes problems on the board? Hmm
I feel really guilty right now, because I bought this for him as a present, it was $700ish plus shipping etc and it's been nothing but problems ever since.
I'm going to see what version of Bios he's running when he gets out of bed, but the Live Update software said there were no updates, but I'll have him check manually.
Another issue I noted, was I sent him some ram before the PC arrived, which was:
    XMS3 — 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1333C9)
He originally put that ram in with the existing 4gb of ram, so I thought it "Might" be a conflict, due to them having a different Mhz value
So I had him remove the 4gb stick that came with the PC
As soon as he entered the bios, it froze and did so twice
So he removed that ram and put back the original 4gb stick and the bios worked
No idea if the two are related.

I hope this doesn't count as necro-ing a thread (last post was in October), but it's the one closest to my situation.
    I have the following setup:
    MSI 970a-g43 motherboard
    AMD FX-6300 cpu
ATI Radeon HD 4550 graphics card
    4x 2GB RAM sticks
    2x 500 GB 3.5" SATA hard drives
    CoolMax 700W psu
    16x r/rw DVD burner
cheapo SD and others card reader that fits in the floppy drive bay
Older PC tower that has a temperature sensor built into it
I built it around November 15th, and it worked until a couple days ago (December 12th I think), when it started doing the sudden shut-off thing. Same as Adresch described: shuts off, tower light blinks, have to flip the i/o switch off and back on to boot again. I consulted a friend for some suggestions, and he said I should put a water cooler in there, because the stock heatsink that comes with most processors are junk. So I went out and bought a Corsair H55 water cooler and installed that.
The computer seemed to run for a bit longer before shutting off. I loaded up the BIOS software, SpeedFan, and HWMonitor. SF said the CPU was running average of 48*C, and GPU was averaging 51*C. The CPU's highest was at 61*C and its lowest was 36*C. BIOS software said CPU was at 35*C the whole time. HWMonitor listed the GPU at 51*C, and the CPU at 7*C. These are all very inconsistent with each other as far as I can tell, so I don't know what to make of these readings. Didn't seem to much matter as the computer continued shutting off.
My options then being replacing the PSU or the motherboard, I decided to replace the power supply, since I was just within the 30 days. Switched for a ThermalTake TR2 700W. Before installing it, I pulled the tower's CPU temperature sensor wire from between the water cooler heatsink and the CPU, just in case. Then I installed the PSU, checked and rechecked all of the connections, and turned it on.
    Nothing.
I then spent the next two hours rechecking everything, even unplugging everything and putting it back together. Still nothing. The best I could get was a flicker of the tower light and the fans doing a quarter turn before ceasing movement. The red LED on the front of the SD card reader stayed on the entire time, though, so I guess it was getting at least a trickle of power. I also removed everything but the PSU, motherboard, CPU, and one stick of RAM. Still no power. I think the new PSU may have been open box, so I'm returning it today for a different one, and even bumping it up to 850W.
I'm not sure that will solve my original issue though, so I'll be looking for a heatsink to put on the VRMS as mentioned. Just thought I'd get this down in a relevant thread in case anyone had other thoughts on what could be going on.

umm   have you connected the power cable for CPU?  sounds rare question for me,  sorry  ..  All  I know is  CPU is seated into socket where get power.     Power ATX 24 pin power connector to mainboard  is properly  connected.  or  are you talking about  ATX 8 Pin power connector JPWR2?  is it that?
.      Also  I tried and  clear CMOS just using  1 stick RAM the slot close to CPU. nothing got it.     Debug LED   FF .     no  signs  of CPU no debug Led   Must see CPU LEDs  On .   as for  me trouble  is  on CPU or motherboard. when you install CPU did you push hard down and closing lever?  I installed CPU like manual say completely embedded into socket and closing lever  I didn't pushed .   Have To push hard it?   what you think about?     I 'll Try tomorrow removing motherboard  and reinstall   Properly as  I  did  and everything back    again.

  • MSI 880G-E45 AMD ATX and G.Skill Ram?

I am upgrading my system and was thinking of getting the MSI 880G-E45 AMD ATX motherboard with the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE AM3 with the G.Skill 2 2Gig ram sticks.  I checked the MSI site to see if the ram works with the 880G, but the 2 last letters of the ram listed was off from what I bought.  Does that mean it won't work?  The package says the G.Skill is designed for Intel LGA1156 platforms and compatible with Intel LGA1155 Sandy Bridge and AMD AM3 CPUs.
    F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL is what I bought
F3-12800CL9D-4GBHN or something like that was what was listed on the list
I know the motherboard and processor are compatible though because I saw a couple of people using the same bundle and it's listed as compatible.
    MSI 880G-E45 AMD ATX
    AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE AM3
    G.Skill Ripjaws 2 2Gig ram
And yes, I am not very computer techy literate.

    Quote
But on newegg, the G.Skill had pretty stellar reviews from a bunch of people so it's hard to think they are a bad choice.
Were these reports by Intel or AMD users ?
If you look at what G-Skill states themselves in one of the feedbacks you will see this:

We are sorry to hear you are having issues. Please make sure to configure memory settings properly in BIOS. Without the proper settings, this memory will not work smoothly. This memory is above standard, so manual settings or enabling DOCP (if supported) is required. AMD systems only support DDR3-1333 CL9 natively, so if you purchase memory better than this, you must manually input settings in BIOS

  • MSI 6330 turbo2 and hdd detection

Hi, i have MSI 6330 turbo2 motherboard with Award bios 6.00PG on an old machine. I tried to put a 40 gb hdd (seagate st340014a) on it but it only reports that the hdd has 32gb of storage... I know that some of the award bios's have the 32G limit problem and i have read that by updating the bios it is possible to overcome that limitation. I have downloaded the latest bios and flashed the board but it still has that limitation. Have i done something wrong, is there another newer bios upgrade for this MB?

I have the latest bios available, that is v3.6 and it still doesn't work. I have checked the jumper settings and it was set to master, just in case I removed the jumper (slave according to the manual) just to make sure that I didn't mix the capacity limitation jumper and the master jumper but it still reports that the drive has 33821mb and not full 37gb... not sure what to do
Can i downgrade the bios to an earlier version (3.5)?
Also it has come to my mind that i could manually set the size of the drive in bios, can anybody please tell me the exact CHS config for this drive?
    Thanks

Unfortunately I am having a trouble down loading these update and installing.  All I get after a few minutes of the download screen is error code 997. Any ideas about the down load or sound problem? System info below.

  • Installed WinXP Pro as ACPI or non ACPI on MSI 6330 board

    Hi,
Recently I got myself an MSI K7T Turbo (MSI 6330 Ver 3.0) mobo. Now, I'm in the process of setting up my Duron 1.2GHz system using this mobo.
I would like to know whether this mobo is an APCI motherboard or not? Which installation option is good for my system, an ACPI enabled OS or Standard PC OS? WHat's the pro & con for these 2 types of OS installation?
    Thanks,
    Felix

    Rwmanning,
You can try to use the Li'veDrvUni driver. Go to the driver download page and do a search for this filename - Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe
But as your sound card came pre-installed from your Dell system. This OEM sound card may require special driver from Dell and may not work with the above driver.
Gi've it a try, if not you should check with Dell for the OEM card driver.

  • MSI K7D Dual AMD PCI Bridge Help

I noticed in the Device Mgr, there is a question mark next to other devices, and below it,  there is an exclamation/question mark next to Other PCI Bridge Device.
What is this Other PCI Bridge Device?  Is there a driver for it or is this a hardware problem?  How do I fix that?
    I have a MSI K7D Dual AMD 2400MP, 2GB Mushkin ECC RAM, GF4 4600 Video card, and using Win2k.

Best BIOS setting for MSI K8N Plat + AMD 3000+ Venice + Geil Value RAM

If you want SSE3 support and you do not overclock, Bios 1.4 is the only one officially available (1.41beta is not official).
Try to upgrade to 1.4 and see it for yourself, do the upgrade with floppy in DOS so that you can save your old Bios.
I would rather wait till mid June when a less troublesome new bios is suppose to be availabe for NEO4 MBs.
