MSI 6600 pci express driver issue
Evening/Morning all.
Not sure if this would be considered a commen problem or just my luck?
Did the build last week of my current rig (details in sig) and am pleased with how well things are preforming. However I would like to know if anyone else has had issues with installing the nVidia drivers from the CD that comes included with the video card?
Basically I installed the motherboard drivers in order, made sure that was all nice and happy I inserted the MSI driver CD for the video card, the autorun kicked in with the "selection" screen. Went and clicked on the "install nVidia display drivers" bit of fun...and got Nadda thing. It sat there like a very pretty rock. I had to install the drivers the ol' fashion way via the system's hardware manager. Once done it still was'ent right, so I had to D/L the updated drivers from MSI...Un-install the video drivers I just put on...(real nightmare...it also removed several other drivers...as well as the display drivers..done via "add/remove" programs.)
Long story short (I know..to late) I had to re-install all the motherboard drivers AGAIN...and then did the setup of the D/L drivers from MSI. This time it seems to be working.. (have several other issues as well...but this one really was 'odd')
Is this something that happens from time to time? Meaning the CD flat out does'ent install when you click on the 'install' option???
I'd like to think it's the CD...but I also wonder if I missed something along the way. (other problems will be addressed in their proper area)
All Best

This might be the best route. While I've normally have used the drivers from the motherboard makers websites? This is the first amd64 939 board I've had the unique pleasure to work with. The only thing that was a slight letdown was the benchmark.. 3Dmark 03. It only did slightly better then my other computer which my G/F is now using (amd2500+barton, Soyo KT600 ultra plat.)
This is my first run with PCI Express, so I'm still learning all of it's little 'quirks'. Such as trying to update the display drivers..and accidently nuking out the motherboard drivers at the same time. (Oppps)
6.6.9.3 seems to be the latest driver pack..and that's the one MSI listed. I'll keep my eyes open for any updates. When making a choice for updateing the drivers. Should I only use the ones that list PCI Express? I've noted a new(er) version on the MSI site but it did'nt mention PCI Express at all..So I went with the 6693 as it listed support for it.
Thanks!

HP 6600 Scan\Print Driver Issue for Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Hello,
For some time now I have been unable to scan or print from my desktop (Windows 7 Professional 64bit) and I have exhausted too much effort and am now bringing it to the masses.
The problem:
Printing: Currently receiving an "Error - Offline" message in my printer queue at all times.
Scanning: Scanning has never fully worked on this desktop. I am always unable to communicate with the printer. (Though webscan works through accessing the printers IP address)
Things I have tried:
Ran HPPSDr, followed directions (Unpluged power to printer, turn back on, restart computer) brings me to this website after it cannot fix. (Note that while the HPPSDr is running it always notions that there is a driver problem)
Uninstalled Drivers from CD-ROM, re-installed, countless times
Installed "Windows 7 Pro 64 bit drivers" from the HP website and uninstalled, countless times.
Attempted to set a static IP and use "Update IP Address" to point specifically at the printers IP.
Installed Drivers and finding the printer myself through it's own static IP address.
Turned off firewall and attempted to print (after reboot), same errors
Setting up the printer on all of my laptops (3) wirelessly to attempt to find if there is a problem with the printer or static IP. (1 is Windows VISTA 32bit and the other 2 are Ubuntu 32bit). All laptops are able to use the printer wirelessly without any problems.
Read all of the forums about this issue and attempted all of the 'solutions'. Although I mostly don't see that anyone with this same problem is resolved, unless I'm missing the perfect post.
Things I have not tried:
Plugging the USB directly into the desktop. (This seems self defeating as the purpose for this printer was to be able to print wirelessly to it from across the room)
Re-installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit (Trying to avoid this, would rather just print from laptops)
You tell me
Curiosities:
I have noticed strange things that make me believe the driver is somehow incomptable with my OS. Here is a shot of the properties of the printer:
Weird that it is not recognizing the model number.
Also in the Printer Settings when I go to the port tab, there is no port selected, if I try and tab away it forces me to select a port, yet when I do and 'apply' and then re-open the Printer Settings in the ports tab; it has again unselected the previously selected port.
Theories:
I feel like my OS is just refusing to notice the IP address for the wireless printer, no matter what I have it set to, even if it's dynamic. It's like the driver for Windows 7 Pro 64bit is actually not the correct driver for my system.
Anyways, another thing to mention is that I am not currently willing to wipe my operating system and re-install Windows 7 Pro in order to resolve this just yet. I want to see if anyone else has any other avenues I can try before even beginning to consider that.
Anyways, thanks in advance for taking the time to read my ramblings and hopefully someone who has resolved this issue can help me.Hi Zerosouls,
I understand you are having an issue with HP 6600 Scan\Print Driver Issue for Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
First try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing Hp Officejet 6600 again.
Please let me know what happens
Thanks

Should I buy GeForce 6600 PCI Express or Radeon X300 PCI Express???
Which should I buy GeForce 6600 PCI Express or Radeon X300??? The GeForce 6600 PCI Express is more expensive and I dont know if it has a Programable Pixel Shader. ANYONE COULD YOU HELP ME WITH MY DECISION??
Definitely not the X300, it is not worth it.
Look to the 6600, but beware, users have reported problems with the 6600 series cards and the heatsink lately so it may be wise to look at all your options before you make a choice. Try looking at other forums and steer clear of manufacturer's support forums as they can be biased and content has to be moderated more.
Good luck -

MSI Z77a-G45 graphics driver issue.
Trying to install the graphics drivers for this board from the MSI site, I but every time I do so on loading windows 7 my monitor just goes to sleep and I have to roll back the driver in safe mode. This is the same for the driver found in the windows 7 updates.
Iv downloaded the files a few times over and reinstalled windows twice and the problem remains. Can anyone suggest anything? Is there something I’m missing or need to set in the UEFI bios for using the onboard graphics?
MSI Z77A-G45, i5-3570K, 2x 8GB Corsair memory, Windows 7 64bit.
Thanks.My BIOS is E7752IMS V2.10
Iv already downloaded V2.A
However I have to say the guide at uk.msi.com/service/biosupdate/ , appears to be putting v2.2 on top of v2.2.
it also says "Download the BIOS that matches your motherboard and version number to your USB device."
I'm not entirely sure what is meant by 'version number' but it dose suggest i need to download V2.10 not V2.A ... call me picky but i want to be sure! lol.
Can anyone confirm ether way? It dose seam rather odd!
Thanks.
**edit
Update on my graphics issue
With the default driver, just before the windows 7 log in screen appears. I was getting a portion of it appear first on the bottom 1/8 of the screen. Now its appears to be a snowstorm of bad graphics and its the same when I switched to using HDMI instead.
Not sure if that's a good sign!
For reff my screen is a HP LP2475w tho I'm rather sure there is nawt wrong with the screen. -

[Radeon] RX300HM 256 PCI EXPRESS graphic issues
I recently bought this MSI card from a retailer down the street and have not been able to get it to run right so far except for about a half hour the other day.
I installed the card myself using the instructions from the retailer i bought it from saying to just put the card in since i have a ATI chipset and am using the same driver well i did that....
(Getting blurred resolution-brown coloring tint-Graphics as in EQ2 have lines going through them-Very Laggy in EQ2-HTML takes forever to load-Some download internet speeds are slow)So anyway I contacted my computer manufactuer and they ran me through a clean install of the card(Uninstalling through safe mode and installing the card again)did that....
Same results EXCEPT for some reason it WORKED GOOD for about a half hour then i got a driver error reseting the resolution then i had the same results again(as the above statement)so i contacted the driver manufacturer and asked them what was happening.
They told me i had 2 sets of utilitys running for my driver(which I did)thats why i got the error so I uninstalled them like they showed me and rebooted well....(same results as above)...I dont understand it should of worked but I not getting errors now....
So they gave me a last option to do a clean install their way..so I did...(same as above)...so they closed my case number.I will be contacting MSI tomorrow as my last option or whatever....I have yet to run 3D benchmark I gonna download it now and I'll tell u the results...anyway here's my specs...\/

Just bought a new msi ge70 2oe-017us 2 days ago and haven't had any issues with it until I had to use the blu ray drive today. After I insert a cd into it, it sounds like its loading and then gives off an repeatedly annoying noise. The disc doesn't get recognized at all either. The cd i'm using is working in another computer.
The bluray drive is a TSSTcorp DVDWBD SN-406AB, no flag in device manager and drives are updated.
I have a video of the sound it's making, but the forum won't allow me to post it.looks like you may need to send it back if the bluray drive has malfunction.

MSI 6600 GPU and Neo 4 ultra problem ----- PLEASE HELP -----
I just got done building a beautiful system with the K8N Neo 4 platinum matched with a MSI 6600 PCIE video card. Everything went together perfectly. After many reboots and getting everything set up the way I want, I accidently moved the monitor, and the DVI cable was loose. I did this during a reboot.
Now the system will not boot up at all past the post screen. I can not get into BOIS at all. I tried unplugging, clearing CMOS, and reseating the video card. However, I am really out of options for what I can do.
Does anyone ave any suggestions, or perhaps has seenthis before?
Thanks,
Doug HeeremaOpps nevermind what I said. I misread your second paragraph. As you can't get past the post screen I have to ask if the HDD's are running like it would in a normal boot? If so then you may be set to some other scan frequency than the Monitor can handle. If so then you need to try it as Eddie suggested with a normal CRT so that you can reset to the panels native resoluition and frequency. Some Flat Panel displays don't like anything else. If that works then try to remember the last operation you did before this happened. As whatever that was likely changed the operating frequencies to somethiong the monitor did not liuke. You will need to review that before trying it again.

NMic issue: SB X-FI Extreme 7. PCI-express card. New driver/software to blame? My mic has worked perfectly up untill the new driver update. It is now version .04.000 released 30 June 09'. That was yesterday as of this post. It was a complete reinstall of the driver and software and a new updater. When I finished all of the updates my mic no longer worked. Keep in mind that I have 2 mics and neither of them work. With the old driver and software I was able to access the Creative Audio Control Panel and I would find a tab called "Jacks". In that tab I could select "line in" or "microphone". I would select microphone and all would work well. Now I have a completely dumbed down Creative Audio Control Panel interface with no option that is similar. I have clean wiped and reinstalled the driver and sofware updates 3 times now with the same effect. Can anyone help please? I really don't want to wait -3 weeks for Creative support to get back to me. The only thing worse than Creative support is UBISoft support!
Thanks in advance.

New system, MSI X800XT PCI-E Issues
Hi there!
I just bought a new motherboard, new ram, new cpu and new videocard and was eagerly wanting to set this stuff up.
My system is now as follows:
Motherboard: MSI 925X Neo-54G
CPU: P4 3.40Ghz (1 Mb L2 Cache) (Socket 775)
RAM: 1 GByte DDR2 533
Video Card: MSI RX800 XT-VTD256 (ATI Radeon X800XT PCI-E)
I put everything up and working and installed Windows XP w/ SP2. Installed every driver needed from the motherboard CD, went to ATI's site and downloaded the latest Catalyst Drivers, etc.
After having everything apparently working as it should, I downloaded 3dMark 2005 to see how it went. I had never used the 2005 version before so I wasn't too shocked to see it only got like 3200 points although I was kinda suspicious after seeing some of the tests going at like 1 fps.
I went back to another PC I have at home (a socket 478, P4 3.0Ghz, Asus P4C800 mobo, 1 GByte DDR400 Ram and a GeForce 6800 Ultra). Ran 3dMark 2005 and to my amazement, it got like 4400 points.
Well, double checked everything on the catalyst control panel (nothing really useful there)... then went back to the BIOS setup to investigate what is not working as it should. MSI boards have that nifty Dynamic Overclocking thing and so I turned it on. My BIOS settings are now as following (only listing settings I have doubts on):
DDR2 533 (Dual Channel Mode Enabled)
DRAM Timing Selectable: By SPD
Memory Hole: Disabled
PCI Express Root Port Func: Auto on all 4 ports
PCI-E Compliance Mode: v1.0a
DRAM Data integrity mode: Non-ECC
PCI IDE Busmaster: Enabled (I have a 250GB 8MB SATA HD,fyi)
Init Display First: PCI-E
Maximum Payload Size (PCI-E): 4096
High performance mode: Optimized (Manual is the other option)
Dynamic Overclocking: 5% (0-15% range)
Adjust DDR Frequency: Auto
Auto Detect PCI Clock: Enabled
Spread Spectrum: Disabled
CPU Clock: 200Mhz
CPU Voltage: By CPU default
Memory Voltage: 1.8v
AGP/PCI-E Voltage: 1.5v
Ok, so, can anyone tell me what is wrong (if anything)? I mean, I think this PC should be faster than my other one...
I'm not really interested in overclocking and I am really convinced this hardware should be able to beat my other one easily with default operating status.
Also, I tested this PC's performance with Rome: Total War and it is just as 3dMark had showed, it performs worse than the other pc I mentioned, with the same exact settings.
Any help please?
Regards!Quote

MSI 6600 diamond PCI-E/ 3DMARK05 = 739/ PSU Problem?
This is my first post, so forgive me if it's not OK.
I have an MSI NX6600 VTD128E diamond. I am getting the Nvidia Sentinal warning approx. 75% of the time. I just installed an Enermax EG465P-VE FMA. I'm not sure if the specs will show up in my profile, so they are 3.3v - 35A, 5v - 35A, 12v - 33A. From all the reading I have done I thought this would solve my problem, but it did not. My original PSU was a 300W Hipro with dual 12v rails @ 18A each that came with my computer, and I got the warning everytime I turned it on, which is why I switched for the new one.
These cards get there power from the PCI-E slot on the motherboard with no option for an extra power connector. At this point I don't know if I need a new PSU with dual 12v rails, or if there is something else causing the problem. From reviews of other 6600 cards I think my 3DMARK05 numbers should be between 2600-3200? Any thoughts or suggestions would be very appreciated.

I have had 1 or 2 restarts trying beta drivers, 71.81 and MSI's 71.22 caused a strange xp screen saying please wait, but it never booted up. Far cry wouldn't load with one of them. This is the only game I'm playing right now and it actually runs pretty good with settings on High. My clock speeds were at 400/800 after the Sentinal warning so I'm not sure what it is doing, but my marks definatly suggest something is wrong. Everything runs ok with the 66.93, which I used before the beta's and I am using them now.I didn't get the warning when I started my Comp this time so I think I will try 3DMARK05 again just to see if there are any changes.
From what I understand about Memtest (very little) I need a floppy drive, but I don't have one. Am I correct or is there another way to use the program? Anybody else have some ideas? Please.
PS- could someone explain the differences between ATX12V, ATX V1.0, V1.3, V2.0, V2.3? etc. Do the new PCI-E boards need a specific version? Thanks.

Issues related to Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express 1)
Hi, I've recently bought a SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express edition).
Before I address my issue, I'd like to point out that my rig is:
Maximus Extreme (mobo)?
Q6600 (cpu)
ATI4870 (vid card)
4Gigs of DDR3 (ram)
and my OS is Vista Home Edition (32 bit precision)?
And so after physically installing the hardware, I quickly installed everything there was on the CD- this included the drivers available on the CD. After this installation, I restarted then found most recent updates via online sources (creative.com). But even after all of this, I wasn't able to get my microphone to work. Now from my understanding, the jack is shared between Line-In and Microphone and I'm supposed to configure this setting. And so I tried to do that, but my only problem was that I was unable to use any of the available features. After researching for a few hours I found out that I, appearently have to uninstall everything that I had installed and then reinstall everything from online sources (from creative.com-- latest drivers for vista 32 bit). But even then, I still can't use my mic or configure the settings so that I could use microphone instead of Line-In.
Now going back to my actual question, how do I configure the settings so that I could use Microphone instead of Line-In?ERe: Issues related to Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express )[ Bumping.
Almost the same problem here.
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio edition, Windows 7 64bit.
I downloaded the latest driver from the Creative site, installed it, update with the update manager and then i installed the console.
Issue number : I DONT have your same console. I dont have a "Mode" button, im stuck in Entertainment Mode. I cant control almost nothing and i dont have all the options u have.
Issue number 2: My mic isnt working good. It's VERY low on volume, i cant be heard without the +20db boost (the only boost option i have, i cant boost more) and even with that acti've that's not that loud.
It is still working good with my onboard realtek soundcard. I cant understand what's the problem and how to solve it.
Ah, my headset is a Creative Fatality. -
Msi neo4 platinum + xfx 6600gt pci express card..
This can be a stupid question
But i just builded a new system, with a msi neo4 platinum motherboard and a xfx 6600 GT pci express videocard.
which runs great, but when i start my system i see the following line (form the bios)
PCIe VGA LINK WIDTH X 4
And in my nvidia drivers i see this :
Bus: PCI Express X4
Is this correct ?
I thought it should say X16 or am i thinking the wrong way ?Quote from: syar2003 on 08-May-05, 20:56:12
It should run with X16 lanes if the gfx-card is equipped with X16 interface .
Anyway the difference between 4X and 16X isn't exactly whohaa in todays games/apps .
http://www20.graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041122/pcie-analyse-09.html
the videocard is equipped with and x16 interface, and the motherboard must show X16..
I asked a friend of mine, who has been playing with my machine yesterday en he says
it did show X16 in the bios, when starting the machine...
I did the following things :
- Removed an replaced videocard, did not help.
- Reset cmos, dit not help.
- Checked bios for an option, dit not help.
And also flashed the motherboard to version 1.2, dit also not work.
Looks like the motherboard or the videocard is not working properly anymore...
Anyone got an idea ?
