MSI 694DPRO with two processors

:help:Hi there.
I have a computer that uses a mainboard MSI 694DPRO(MS-6321), and supports Dual Intel Pentium III, I use
a processor Pentium III SL5FQ (1000/256/133/1.75V), and it's works very well.
I would like to install two processors on the mainboard. So, I bougth two processors Pentium III SL52R (1000/256/133/1.75V), same generation.
The old processor was removed, and  I installed one new (only one), but after installation,  the mainboard  turn on but not works. The Led Diagnostic shows  0 1 0 0.
Then I removed the new processor, installed the old again, and the machine works normaly.
- Can someone  help me  ?
- Why this processors SL52R, althought has the same especification than other old,  not works with the mainboard ?

    Hats off to this OC. Impressive indeed.

    Don't know how long that CPU will survive with that voltage. At least we know it survived long enough for the validation to be recorded.

    The current world-record with MSI's FM2-A85XA-G65 is even higher. It's now 7.446GHz (http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2540201)

  • Connect two Processors

    Hi all!!! I want to transcode my avi video from RGB to YUV, and from YUV to MJPG.
    - MasterProcessor: RGB to YUV
    - SecondProcessor: YUV to MJPG.
    My problem is that I can't create SecondProcessor from the MasterProcessor's data source.
    Piece of code:
    //          We are done with programming the processor. Let's just realize it.
              MasterProcessor.realize();
              if (!waitForState(MasterProcessor, Processor.Realized)) {
                   System.err.println("Failed to realize the processor.");
                   return false;
              try{
                   SecondProcessor = Manager.createProcessor( MasterProcessor.getDataOutput()); // PROBLEM
              catch (Exception e) {
                   System.err.println("Cannot create a processor from the data source.");
                   return false;
              SecondProcessor.addControllerListener(this);
    //          Put the Processor into configured state so we can set some processing options on the processor.
              SecondProcessor.configure();
    Can you show me a code example with two processors? Thanks!
    Regards!!!

    please!!!!

  • Two VGA monitors don't work with two different G4s, but both work with G3!

    I recently acquired two used Power Mac G4s (one of them is a mirrored-door dual-processor that I got from school and was told should work, the other is a Gigabit Ethernet model, and should also work), from two completely different sources. They both turn on (I get a power-on light, I hear HDDs churning, and I get a power chime from one of them, and they react to the usual Mac stimuli, mouse and keyboard light up, reset button works, etc.) but I get *absolutely no video*. The monitor syncs for a second, like it gets a quick signal, then goes immediately back to the "CHECK SIGNAL CABLE" message.
    I have tried them both with two generic PC VGA monitors (though they were both kind of old and crummy ones, they work on my G3 and other computers. I've tried the working PCI video card from my G3, that doesn't work, nor does swapping their video cards. They both have Apple-supplied ATI AGP video cards, both with Apple's proprietary ADC interface, though one has only DVI out (with a DVI to VGA adapter that came with it) and the other has a straight VGA port.
    The weird thing is that, even though these computers have never, er, met before, they have the exact same problem. The only thing these things have in common is the monitor I'm using. This leads me to believe
    The only thing left I can think of is to hook them straight from the DVI port to my HDTV, but I don't have a DVI cable, much less know ANYTHING about DVI. Could it be that these particular VGA monitors don't like AGP video cards, or some sort of weird incompatibility that isn't well known?
    I figure if anyone's seen something like this, you guys have. Here are the AppleHistory entries on these machines, if it helps:
    http://apple-history.com/body.php?page=gallery&model=g4giga&performa=off&sort=da te&order=ASC
    http://apple-history.com/body.php?page=gallery&model=g4_mirror&performa=off&sort =date&order=ASC

    The software on the hard drives may be set for a video setting that won't work with your monitor. A few things to try (in order):
    1) Reset PRAM. Hold down Cmd-Option-P-R when booting until you hear the third Boing.
    2) Hold down Option when booting. Should show symbol of hard drive, plus a couple of arrows.
    3) Boot from a CD (Install disk or, preferably, Hardware Test Disk).
    4) Safe boot. Hold down "S" just after the boing. Release it when (if?) you see the turning gear.
    If it is a scan rate problem, one of these should show some video.

  • What's the deal with dual processors???

    The whole dual processor thing has been bugging me for some time now. If I have a dual 500mhz processor, is it the same as a 1.0ghz processor, worse than one, better than one?! Are there other factors at play? In my limited scope, if you had a dual 500, 533, whatever, it would be the same as a single 1.0ghz - and yet these dual processors are priced much cheaper. I really am at a loss as to how computers do their processing, and how to compare single processor G4's and dual processor G4's when making a purchase.
    Insight would be greatly appreciated!

    And you shouldn't forget, the future is multiprocessors. There is a limit to miniturization, and the solution seems to be multiplication. So operating systems and applications are increasingly going to be multiprocessor-aware. Maybe a perfect example is the upcoming MacOS release, Snowleopard. Apparently, there will be almost no cosmetic changes. The changes will essentially be 'under-the-hood'. And you can bet, that some of those changes will be increased efficiency with respect to multiple processors.
    So what's the deal with airplane peanu...err, dual processors?
    The advantage, theoretically is, having more workers to do the work. Your 1ghz processor is like a worker who can lift 100kg, and your 500mhz are like workers who can lift 50kg each.
    So where's the advantage? If you have a farm with 40 kg hay bales in the field that you need to pick up, your better off with two workers than one right? Or 8 workers in the case of a 8-core MacPro. So an multiprocessor-aware operating system, doles out the work much more efficiently, spreading the tasks around, or spreading a single task around in pieces (if the app is so written).
    You've heard of render farms? The multiple computers used to render the frames of animated movies? Its the same principle. Having computer 1 render the first 1000 frames and computer 2 the next, the project gets done within a lifetime. If they had had only one computer, ToyStory would still not be finished.
    Its the future. Just wait till the end of this year for example. Nehalem chips will be sporting even more processors.

    I followed the ostensibly applicable steps outlined in the above linked articles and no go.
    Further, I have uninstalled and reinstalled .net framework two times.
    Adobe's tech support team has (according to their findings) "determined" that my windows .net framework is "corrupted" and as such my system will disallow the installation of any .msi programs; my only salvation (according to Adobe) is to fork over $100.00 to Microsoft for "advanced" Windows tech support. Earlier today I was easily able to install Silkypix RAW software which is a program having an .msi extension. This seems to contradict the Adobe technical team's findings. Moreover, I've had ZERO installation issues with any other developer's programs including Corel, Sony and a host of additional 3rd party programs- ponderous.
    As well, both Adobe Air and Acrobat function and routinely update on my system without incident. For the life of me I have no idea what to do to remedy this frustrating issue.
    In addition to the 1603 error, I see a 1935 error as well. I would greatly appreciate any useable suggestions to permit the installation of Lightroom and PS.

  • Strange behaviour msi 7236 with e7400

    Hello,
    Is the msi-7236 supporting the e7XXX Intel c2d family ?
    I've just switched from an e6400 to an e7400 and I've noticed some strange behaviours, mainly
    the fact that the performances are the same with both processors ( and even a bit reduced with
    the e7400 ! ).
    Another big problem is in the bios CPU configuration section: instead of 6 options + C1E hidden features
    there is only 2 + the C1E hidden features. Consequence is simple: impossible to setup Intel speedstep or
    the other common options.
    Additionally there is also a problem when displaying the frequency at the boot-time ( it displays 346xx MHz !)
    and in cpuz, the coefficient displayed is 6 ( instead of 8 I guess for this entry level cd2 model)
    As the latest msi 7236 bios is now 2 years old (v3.7), I guess this is the motherboard which is
    responsible for this weird behaviour.
    So anyone can help me with theses questions ?

    945P Neo3, bios is version 3.7, to be accurate, internal nomenclature is 'MS 7236 revision 2.2'.
    With ChristalCPUID I've succeed into putting the coefficient @10.5 so now the performances of the e7400 are as I was expecting, but the bios is still initializing the CPU with the lowest coeff.
    Advanced features (64 bits instructions, SSE4 ,speedstep etc) are still not recognized.
    I've also noticed that the e7400 is not listed on the 'officially supported CPU list' motherboard webpage.
    How can it work partially without system failure ?
    Would it be possible that 45nm are supported by this (old) MotherBoard even if it's not clearly specified by MSI ?

  • OS 2008 Licensing requirements for Server with 12 Processors

    I need to upgrade  to Windows OS 2008 R2 on our server that has 12 processors. Was told that this server has 2 physical CPUs and each CPUs has 6 cores. Want to confirm that all I need is 2 processor license for this server.
    Can you please confirm this?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Windows Server 2008 R2 is not more available on the market. if you want to have Windows Server 2008 R2 than you purchase Windows Server 2012 R2 and downgrade to 2008 R2.
    each Windows Server 2012 R2 license(Standard or datacenter) cover up to TWO processors. it means that for your Server with 2 physical CPUs you Need just one Windows Server 2012 R2 license.
    for 2008 R2, on ly the datacenter Edition was licensed with CPUs. Minimum 2 CPU licenses for each datacenter Edition.
    for Windows Server the number of cores does not change the
    number of licenses required.
    thanks

  • Can I run FireFox-26.0 as two independent processes, not one process with two windows?

    Operating system = MS Windows-7 x64 Home Basic
    Processor = Intel Celeron B800 (System shows: two processors 1.5 GHz)

    Hi Alexander,
    Yes use a second profile and the -no-remote argument in the none default browser comandline or shortcut. Post back with how you get in or for more information
    Cheers John,
    See
    *[[Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles]] <br /> (Probably the easiest method of creating new profiles.)
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_multiple_profiles_-_Firefox
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Opening_a_new_instance_of_your_Mozilla_application_with_another_profile
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Testing_pre-release_versions#Installing_multiple_versions
    Using multiple profiles is not something we shout about on this forum. It is I think considered too advanced. It does have some dangers in that you may accidentally delete profiles for instance. It is however possible to manually backup profiles, and that may be a good precaution to take. I would also strongly suggest that you follow this good practice (At least until you are proficient enough to manually recreate and modify profiles)
    # Normally use the locations suggested by Firefox <br /> It is easier and safer
    #* Always use an empty folder <br />Other contents disappear when the profile is removed
    #* Never nest profiles within each other <br /> As above,delete mother, lose child also
    # Do not rename profiles <br />Confusing, profile names and folder names mismatch
    # Do not delete profiles<br /> Just remove shortcuts if not in use. Delete the wrong one and you lose settings, passwords & bookmarks etc
    Uses of multiple profiles include
    * Testing, with clean or temporary profiles
    * Different users, or different work type within the same OS account. That may include different bookmarks files &/or a different set of addons.
    * Running multiple Firefox versions &/or multiple instances of Firefox simultaneously.
    There are other methods of creating profiles but the best is probably to use Firefox's built-in profile manager.

  • HPZ600 fail to boot with two X5660 CPUs

    Hi,
    I have HPZ600 with orginally installed two XEON E5530 processors.
    I bougth two XEON X5660 processor to replace the E5530s.
    When I try replacing the two E5530 processors with two X5660s the system will not boot.
    The screen stays black and after a short while the case fans start blowing with high speed.
    Nothing else happens.
    Only if I use just ONE (either one) of the X5660 CPUs the system boots and works.
    I have latest Z600 bios installed. COuld this have something to do with the PSU?
    It is the original PSU rated 650W?
    Or is this a system bug with Z600?
    I bougth my Z600 in 2009 and the original CPUS are manufactured in 2008.
    (the X5660 CPUs are manufactured in 2009)
    I have also found few other cases on the forums with the same problem (with two X5660 cpus). But
    no solution.

  • MSI GX660R with intel motherboard and compatibility with Samsung 840 EVO SSD

    Hi
    Im am new to this forum, so I apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong section.
    I am considering to replace the hard drive in my MSI GX660R with a Samsung 840 EVO 250 gb ssd, since it has the best benchmark ratings and are very afordable. My laptop has an Intel motherboard with an i7 core processor.
    My question in relation to the upgrade is, whether the laptop is compatible with that excact ssd. I plan to run it in AHCI mode, since I have bad expirience with loss of data under RAID. If i chose to run the extra HDD as a secondary drive, it will therefore still be under AHCI.
    Can anyone refer me to some sort of compatibility list, or tell me if the above mentioned drive is compatible? I havent been able to find out myself, and MSI is farily difficult to get in contact with.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Yes, your early 2013 Retina model uses 6.0 Gbps SATA but it's not a standard mSATA connection. You could upgrade using Transcend's JetFlash -> http://www.transcend-info.com/apple/jetdrive/ - to space up to 960GB, however.

  • Help: FSB Setting for MSI 875P with Intel 3.06 533Mhz & Corsair 512 27

    Help: FSB Setting for MSI 875P with Intel 3.06 533Mhz & Corsair 512 2799 333Mhz
    Need a little help here, Intel's specs for the P4 3.06GHz 533 is a multiplier of 23 x 133Mhz.
    However 133Mhz as a FSB seems very slow.
    The 875P NEO has two BIOS settings: CPU Ratio and Adjust CPU Bus
    What are your settings for these - I am quite confused?
    Thanks!
    G.

    133 is the stock FSB setting. set your memory to DDR333.
    Do you want to overclock? you might want to set your memory to DDR266 which is 1:1. so u can adjust a bit of FSB from 133 to maybe 150.
    PS dont forget your memory timing. 2-6-3-3 would be oki i think. what bios version r u using?

  • Two processors, one becomes unresponsive..

    Hello all,
    I'll try to keep it to the very basics, otherwise we may get lost in the details.
    I have two classes; WebcamImageGrabber & WebcamStreamer.
    Both are to be constructed with a DataSource as argument and create a processor.
    The WebcamImageGrabber is a Thread and basically gets the stream and converts it to a still image and updates a JLabel.
    The WebcamStreamer sets up a DataSink to stream with.
    Both classes use the FormatControl[]'s to set the tracks to a desired format; the WebcamImageGrabber for the image size and such, and the WebcamStreamer for streaming format (currently VideoFormat.H263_RTP, though I need to sort out if that's the propper one).
    Both classes work but only if one of them is disabled. Apparently, the other class's functionality is broken when a class Configure() it's own processor.
    No errors, no warnings. Hmm.
    I wonder if it's even possible to have two Processors, or, if it's desireable at all.
    Now, I searched these forums but all I found were a lot of unanswered threads.
    Are these forums dead? Am I looking in the wrong place? Anyone who knows, please do tell.
    Thanks in advance,
    Onno

    Ah, yes, I see now.
    I've modified my code as following:
    The class that initializes (or rather, 'finds' it) the webcam and sets up a private datasource now has this method:
    public DataSource getRawDataSource() {
         return ((SourceCloneable)this.ds).createClone();
    }this.ds is initialized in the constructor like this:
    public Webcam() {
            dataSource = Manager.createDataSource(loc);
            this.ds = Manager.createCloneableDataSource(dataSource);
    }When using a cloned datasource, neither streaming or the grabbing works.
    Grabbing locks up at stream.read(b);
    Any ideas?

  • Replacing 733 with 933 processor

    I have a Quicksilver 733 and a friend of mine has a 933mhz processor that I can have. Will I easily be able to swap those processors, i.e put the 933 into my 733? Also, does this add an L3 Cache to the computer? Thanks.
    Quicksilver 733, iBook G4 1ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi
    It should work fine. As far as I'm aware the only Power Mac to ship with a 933MHz processor was a Quicksilver 2002 which included the full 2MB of level 3 cache. This is located on the processor daughter card along with the processor itself and would be included when you install the new card. I'm almost certain the cache would be recognised by your 733MHz Quicksilver.
    Removing the old processor card just involves releasing the two heat sink clips, lifting the heat sink off, undoing the four screws securing the card and then litting the card up from it's socket.
    Installation of the 'new' processor card is pretty much the reverse process. Ideally you should also remove the old thermal pads from the bottom of the 'new' heat sink and apply some new thermal paste before installing it. I used a small Arctic Silver kit which included the paste and a cleaning solution so all traces of the old pads were removed.
    There's a small risk you could end up damaging the logic board though so some care is needed, i.e. observing anti-static precautions, making sure the screw driver doesn't slip when prying off the old heat sink clips and making sure the old processor card is lifted straight up out of the socket etc.

    about question 8 that wont come at all, gorilla glass is useless on laptops xD and will never come to a laptop as well, all touchscreen laptops have began to stop being produced since it's way useless with a touch screen laptop Also it's much more expensive to re-place the glass on a laptop than re-placing the actuall screen itself some times actuall screen is glued/sealed onto glass which means you gota replace both which will cost you like 2x more than plain screen re-place.
