  • Need I upgrade My MSI 694T-Pro?

I have a mainboard which I have been using it over 5 years. Actually, I like it very much because it never making any troubles to me. Owing to it's high quality and suitability that I almost had  not it repaired.
My favor 6309 V5.0, I had refreshed it's BIOS to new version V7.5 and it can support 160G HDD. Unfortunately, I am still using GF2 MX400 32M VGA card and PIII 1G CPU, I found my motherboard can support PIII-S tulatain and I dislike CIII so I wanna to purchase a PIII-S 1.4G and ATI9550 double 128M VGA card but I hesitate to carry out my plan at once.
For one thing, PIII-S 1.4G may be not well than my imagine, for another I have not known  ATI 9550 can be used on my board because  I have heard somebody often say it can't using in VIA board.
I am a fans of MSI and I have bought a new P35 motherboard now. However, I am not willing to dispose my 694T-Pro and I am using it like my close friend sometimes. For your surprising, My 6309 V5.0 still look like brandnew and I plan to using it 3-5years.
Need I upgrade My MSI 694T-Pro? Thank you ,very much!

    Thank you for your reply!
Firstly, I am willing to upgrade my 6309 only for loving it deeply but I have  owned a newly PC now, I have bought it last month and it is advanced as many people perfect. ( Q6600+P5K SE +2G*2 Kingston+320G 7200.11 +XFX 8800GT +TT KK550 +G1 +DVD SATA)
Secondly, I wanna to obtain good quality of  screen display, meanwhile, I found it has little distinguish from new PC when I am  just typing and suffering Internet. However, I had a amount of PC games under DX 8.0 so I need a stronger VGA card instead of my GF2, how about it?
Overall, I just use my 6309 for simple affair and I usually do more complicated work by means of new PC.
My question is ,  what a best VGA card can 694T-Pro be used ?
    Thank you!

  • MSI 694T Pro USB

    I Have a    MSI 694T Pro (MS-6309 v5.0)
i have had trouble hooking up the front USB port plugs on my tower to the motherboard pins
does anyone have a diagram or description of what order the plugs should go in
    Thanks

    Pin 1 = Power Pin 2 = Power
    Pin 3 = Data - Pin 4 = Data -
    Pin 5 = Data + Pin 6 = Data +
    Pin 7 = Ground Pin 8 = Ground
Pin 9 = Key or Blocked pin Pin 10 = Ground OC (open/no connection)
In your little depiction pin 1 will be upper left, pin 2 upper right, no pin 9, pin 10 lower right
Edit: looks like Richard got that one in there before I hit the post button.

  • Rebooting after it boot up once..[MSI 694T pro]

    spec : PIII 1GHhz..
I busted my mainboard a week ago so I ordered MSI 694T pro to replace
    well..it seems like working well
but after I leave the computer off for long time,
if I turn on the computer, the computer reboot itself automatically after it goes into Windows..
I thought it was ACPI problem. so I tried to flash the BIOS. I tried all version of BIOS, but none of those BIOS can't fix the problem.
Rebooting occurs only once when I turn on the computer.
After I can use without any problem.
Because of automatic reboot during booting up, Windows gets massed up...
is the board inferior? or is there any way to fix this problem?

    I found the problem..
it was one of the memories..
One of those were broken. I tried switching network cards to find out the problems, but I couldn't find anything.
Finally, I parted everything and put those one by one..
oh my gosh...it was the stupid memory...
but still I have a problem
After I reinstalled win2k, one other blue screen msg came out.
Actually, it also came out when I used the broken memory, but I didn't mention about it b/c I thought every problem was from mainboard, which wasn't..
anyway, after I reinstalled w2k, it says this mainboard doesn't support ACPI, but it is supposed to be...
but this msg also comes out only once. After all, it never comes out again..but I just wonder why this happens
    thx

  • Question of MSI 694T-Pro

My motherboard of PC is msi-694T-pro, although I 've updated BIOS to the latest V7.5, I feel it so low in speed. For instance, I used Windows tool to testmy PC and find it cann't exceed my 815EPT, especially in VGA card and SDRAM!
    My PC:
    694T-Pro (v7.5 BIOS)
    PIII 1G
    HY PC133 512M
    DVD-ROM
    GEFORCE4 MX440SE 64M
    160G HDD
May I need to purchase a PIII-S 1.4G CPU, can it improve my PC'speed as much as possible?
Need I change ATI Radeon 8500 VGA card instead of my old card?
How to renew my PC assemblies in high effiiciencyand economy?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum
The fastest PIII cpu that is supported by your motherboard is a 1.26 Tulatin core.  Check the cpu support chart.
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&prod_no=281&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=#menu
Do you have 4x agp enabled in your bios?  Your video card is able to run at 4xagp.
Does your cpu have the 100Mhz front side bus?  If the cpu has a 100Mhz fsb and the memory is set to run 1:1 with the cpu in the bios, then the memory is running at 100Mhz as well instead of the 133 that it is rated to run at.
Setting the memory to run at Auto or SPD is the bios will help speed the system up a little.
I would not spend any money on it to try and speed it up if it was mine.  Save that money and add to it until you can purchase the components to build a new system.  That will give you the best return on any investment you might make for computer parts..

  • MSI 694T Pro AGP and PCI clocks in OC

    Hi!
I wonder about when raising FSB on this motherboard; will there be any divider for the pci and agp clocks, so the pci stays at 33 mhz so I don't mess up any hardware there? And what about the AGP?  ?(
    specs are as follows:
    1.2 celeron (100*12)
    ATI Radeon 7500
I'll be happy for all responding!  )
    And excuse my english please!

    Hi Assaf,
This gets to be more of a mystery!

No, there is no sign any such a device in the boot up information, which is a bit strange isn't it? It lists my other stuff o.k. - see below.
What other PCI cards do you have?
    I have the following installed:
Network Adaptor 1: Realtek RTL8139(A)-based PCI Fast Ethernet Adaptor. The driver for this must be included in Win 2000 as I didn't have to install anything for it.
Network Adaptor 2: BT Speedway ISDN PCI Card Rev. A (Win 2000). I had to install the driver for this from the supplied CD.
Video Adaptor: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64/M64 PRO. I installed the latest unified driver from NVIDIA (Version: 44.03
    Release Date: May 14, 2003).
What puzzles me most is that when I rebuilt the system I started out with just the video card installed and no other adaptors (the card was using the Microsoft supplied driver) and there was no sign of the sound system then. So, unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the motherboard surely the sound should have been detected?
Cheers and thanks for your help.

  • Help! 694T Pro (MS6309) not working...

I have a MSI 694T Pro (otherwise known as a MS6309) which worked very well until a few days ago when I changed my cpu cooler. Now it POST's perfectly and I can enter and use the BIOS setup but it simply hangs when trying to boot (HDD, CD or Floppy). The D-Leds say that it's trying to boot.
I have a thesis to finish by the end of the month so I really need my computer.

I did remount the original cooler (with plenty of heat goop) and checked every cable. The hard drive, floppy and dvd are all detected properly, and the cpu temperature and cpu fan speeds give nice healthy readings in the bios...

  • 694T Pro and Asus v8200 video card

I can't seem to make my MSI 694T Pro run at AGP 4x mode with my Asus v8200 (a GeForce3 video card). It's running at 2x only with this card, but with GeForce2 cards it runs at 4x. I tried different versions of nVIDIA drivers and updating the BIOS to no avail.
    Any ideas?

Okay, this is starting to suck, my new Mac Pro is acting up too. I have posted about crashing to another thread where NVChannel has problems and the screen freezes. And now I have this problem too. It's hard to get any new windows to appear (such as context lists, menu views or just normal application windows).

  • 694t pro 2beeps after bios upgrade

    Hi,
I have an MSI 694t pro with a via chipset (vt82c694) and I was having problems with a sound card installation so I tried to upgrade the bios.  I used the bios on http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/download/dld/spt_dld_detail.php?UID=20&kind=1 which was file name 6309v75.exe
I unpacked the files and rebooted using a dos boot disk.  I ran the command for the bios tool with the path for the bios file (can't remember name exactly but something like... a:\avpl??.exe a:\temp\nameofbiosfile.708
After rebooting I do not get any post... all I get now is an infuriating beep beep which happens in about a second, followed by a 1 second pause and then those two beeps in a second again followed by a 1 second pause and this goes on and on continuos.  I seem to recall a SIS agp logo when the motherboard used to work.  The lights from bottom to top und jacks on the motherboard light up red, red, green, red.
Does anybody have any ideas what this problem is and how to work around it please?
    many thanks
    Wayne

    Hi there,
have a 694t pro mobo which performs beautifully. However, I have ordered a new hd drive (IBM 80GB) and unfortunately after the fact remembered that S-ATA and my 694T mobo might be a problem. Is it? Thanks in advance for your reactions.

  • Unable to boot with MSI X58 PRO-E and OCZ3P1333LV6GK

     Hi,
This is my first post in this forum.
I've had this system for about 6 months, and from time to time I kept having instant reboots and once the PC would never start, I think I've sorted that by first flashing an old MB BIOS and then the most recent.
Tree days ago I've had another instant reboot, but now the system stops/reboots when the coloured animation starts to appear above the "Loading windows" message. This happens with both Win7 32 & 64 bits and even with the windows 7 installation DVD !!!
I think I've tried all combinations of the other posts where the MB+memory was the same as mine.
Another strange issue is: the memory PN shown inside the BIOS (OCZ3G1333LV2G) is different from the label on the memory (OCZ3G1333LV6GK)!!
I've already tested with only one memory chip at a time, the result is still the same.
I've only got connected the following: Video board, 1 RAM chip, USB Keyboard & one SATA HD. No over clocking whatsoever !
What else do I need to do to finally boot to windows ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Paulo
    My System:
        Mobo: MSI X58 Pro-E, model MS-7522, version 3.1
        BIOS: 8.B
        CPU: Intel i7 920
        RAM: OCZ3G1333LV6GK (6GB)
Video: Sapphire Vapor-X ATI RAdeon HD 4870 2GB
        PSU: Combat Power CP 750W
        OS: Windows 7 32 & 64 bits

    Hi Henry,
    Thanks for the help.
"What are your RAM timings? Screenshot of CPU-Z Memory tab and SPD tab."
I've added a few screenshots of the memory, the SPD & CPU-Z tab, plus a MEM86 test with only on memory stick installed. It appears that the memory is OK... or not ?
"Do you have another video card you can try? Those Sapphire Vapor-X cards have been a problem for others in the past."
I wasn't aware of any problems with this video card, I use it mainly to send movies to my big LCD TV through the HDMI port. I don't have access to another video card, sorry...
I don't know what else to do, do you think it's the PSU ?
    Regards,

  • Building new system, MSI X58 Pro-E, i7 920, GTX 295, 6gb, Thermalright e-120

Hello, I was hoping for some advice on this rig, to overclock or not, etc; Im a bug gamer, so its really about gaming to the max 1st,
    Heres the brand new parts;
MSI X58 Pro-E (In the box, just arrived, do not know bios yet)
    i7 920
    Patriot Extreme Viper PVT36G1600ELK 6GB DDR3 9-9-9-24
    eVGA GTX295 1792mb CO-OP edition
Thermalright extreme e-120 cpu cooler (Jesus that thing is huge)
Im going to re-use this stuff:
2x500gb seagate HDD sata raid 0 for performance
Antec 900 case Lots of fans...nice
    DVD RW
Corsair TX750W Says 60A on a single +12v rail (I think its good, only @ a year or so old)
SB X-FI Fatality gamer sound card
So, basically should I look to OC this setup a bit? maybe to like 3 GHz or so? If so, whats the "safest" method to OC? I have an excellent cpu cooler and a case that has a ton of fans in it so hopefully I should be good for cooling.
Do I just OC the CPU? Will the memory run at its top speeds with this chip? or do I need to do something for the memory also, I recally for some reason on my current PC with a 780i SLI evga mobo I had to set the ram timins manually, they were never picked up properly on "auto", will I have that also on the MSI board?
I hope Ive provided enough information to get started.
    Thank you for any help!
Oh, I plan to build this baby the following weekend as I am working the next 2 weeks straight...meh

    Yes, why not?
Do not be aiming for 3 GHz, you can run that on stock voltage.  4 GHz is more within the grasp of the TRUE 120.

There's only one way to overclock - overclock...   There is no safe way of doing it...

The only way you can overclock a CPU without overclocking anything else is with an extreme edition CPU.  (The i7 965, for example.)  It's overclocked by raising the CPU multiplier, not the baseclock frequency.
With regular CPUs, you overclock the baseclock, which overclocks the CPU core, CPU uncore, memory, and QPI frequency.

    Extremely doubtful.
I hope I've answered your questions.   I can be more thorough if you wish to know more.  Of course, Google can tell you more than I ever could.

  • Problem with a MSI-6163 PRO

Anyone got an idea what kinda problem i have? I have an MSI 6163 PRO motherboard (with latest BIOS update 3.5), a PIII 700 Cuppermine, 3x256 SDRam, i run Win XP Pro, have a 40 gb harddrive and have been running like this for at least 9 months, without any problem. Suddenly it starts to reboot all the time and now i cant even start it not even in fail safe mode, it reboots before i get in.
Its not a Virus, i have virus checked the hardrive, i tryed with a smaller harddrive (6 gb and win 95) and that worked, i bought a new harddrivce (120 gb) Started to format and install Win XP pro and it starts to reboot again, i have tryed chagne memmorys, graphic adapter, net adapter, soundcard everything, i am going nuts! anyone had probs like this??
I would be more than greatfull if anyone has an answer to this.

Thanks a lot Wonkanoby for the help. It didnt help my error but it sure cleared it up. There were several capacitor that leaked, just as the pics on the site you sent  http://www.overclockers.com/tips00140/, it shows clearly on thoose. Cant beleive how that problem can be so big and seems like they are doing nothing about it either.
Well thanks for a great Forum here, and thanks to you Wonkanoby.
The motherboard is dumped... thinking of going back to good old ASUS
    Then its Rock´n Roll agian
    Have a great day.
