MSI 760GA-P43 (FX) supports windows 8.1?

Hello,
I am building desktop pc with a msi 760GA-P43 (FX) and an amd fx-4300.
My os is going to be a windows 8.1.This os is going to be a problem in my setup? In the drivers, the bios, the hardware(hdd, sdd, gpu) or anything else?

I would recommend W7 as the only W8.1/8 drivers MSI has for that MB is for ASMEDIA SATA and no others. Personaly I would not use W8.1/8 for anything.

  • Msi 760ga-p43 crashes on wake from S3 sleep

    Hello,
I have the msi 760GA-P43 motherboard with Windows 8.1 installed on a 250gb Samsung 840 Evo SSD, and I'm unable to get the computer to wake up from sleep in S3 mode without Windows crashing a few seconds after wakeup. I also can't wake up from keyboard or USB mouse (can only wake from power button). When it does wake up and crash, the system restarts itself and then returns to Windows as if waking from hibernated state - i.e. all programs still running.
Sleep works in S1 mode, but in S1 mode the fans don't stop so this seems kind of pointless. I have played around with various power settings within Windows but nothing makes a difference. Tried setting 'boot from PS/2' and 'boot from USB device' to Enabled in BIOS, no success.
I have a Phenom II X6 1055T CPU @125W, 8gb of 1333MHz RAM. Any advice very welcome, thanks in advance.

    A couple more details:
I have hybrid sleep disabled in Windows.
I get the same result whether the Wakeup Event (in BIOS) is set to BIOS or OS.
BIOS is updated to most recent, ver 1.2

  • Does 760ga-p43 (fx) supports port multiplier for sata?

    1) I have a 760ga-p43 (fx) and I couldn`t find anywhere if it supports port multiplier for sata.
    Does someone have any idea?
    2) I tried a delock 70146 and I couldn`t make it see also the sata on motherboards and the sata on the pci card. For lack of information on that msi "user guide" I tried any combination on AHCI, ide and sata, but it was a blind trying. It would be great a little help on what to look for.

  • FX8320 with MSI 760GA-P43 (FX) MS-7699 drop speed on high load

I had an FX8320 with watercooling on this MS-7699 motherboard, when with high load the CPU (all 8 cores) drop to 1.4Ghz then come back to the normal frequency within a few seconds, is there anyway to maintain the cpu speed at all time with high load?

No there isn't. The board is not able to cope with the power draw of an FX83xx cpu. Sadly MSI for some time listed FX 8-core cpus supported on all 760G product sites despite these are only able to run 95W TDP cpus at the very maximum. The behavior you are experiencing is a cheap trick to make the cpu seem supported while the only way to keep the board from burning up is to throttle the cpu under load. To run the cpu at full performance you need a new board meant for supporting 125w+ cpus.

  • Msi 760ga-p43 fx

    Good afternoon.
Recently bought a ssd drive, Plextor m5 pro.
Included in the 6gb port, but the rate has not risen above 200.
In normal sata II, speed 260/220.
Drivers are installed on Asmedia, how to get out of the situation?
How do I get sata III ports?
I beg your help, thank you

    Hi
You cant get more speed probably due to the Northbridge/ southbridge PCIe link speed limitation, its linked at 1xPCIe v1.1 250MB/s.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_700_chipset_series#760G
I think that's the case and its common but, i done some testing with my own system and the results are like that but only limited to PCIe v2.0 500MB/s.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=170128.msg1242754#msg1242754
Anyway you should ask to MSI technical support just to be sure.
Edit: What bios version have the motherboard?
Now there is Bios v 1.1 that upgrades PCIEx (4 slot) to PCIe Gen2, the Asmedia controller most probably be exclusive but if its shared with PCIe 4 slot you should get better speeds with the Bios update.

  • MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2012 says only supports Windows 7

    Hi there,
I have Windows 8 already running on my MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2012 and now I am trying to install the latest drivers. But when I download the drivers via the Boot Camp Assistant it claims my MacBook only supports Windows 7.
I did the manual download on the Windows side of life, but it fails to install, shortly after hitting setup. I guess, it checks the modell and fails.
Also, maybe or maybe not, unrelated in the MacBook's about me it claims to be a 13", where as in the system report it shows the correct information.
    Any idea would be appreciated...
    Thanks,
    Thomas

projectRelentless has some work arounds that may help here specifically:
If you want, try and click setup in this latest BootCamp support set, and you will get another sad error claiming x64 is not supported, something awful to that nature.  Awww man, this far, only to get let down.  Nope.  We are going to fix that.  And this is where ErikVanD's post pointed me to what we do next.
It was said to navigate in the BootCamp 5.0.5033 folder to something of the effect of BootCamp/Drivers/Apple and run the MSI file "BootCamp"  (MSI file will say Windows Installer in its description, and not necessarily MSI for anyone not too savy with Windows) **note - NOT .bootcamp (notice the period in the front) and it should work and install the new Windows 8 support for your MBP...but in my case it didn't, which is why im posting how i fixed this.  Your setup may somehow be different, but mine gave me an error say it "needs elevated permissions to run, use setup.exe instead.  We tried that remember!  And it gave us the x64 not supported error.  Oh man!  Blabbing aside, this file needs to be ran as an administrator, which yeah your the only user, but Windows is funny like that.  Normally youd just right click, and select run as administrator, but out the box, that option isnt there when you right click, only install, repair, open with etc.  Here's the next trick, you need to add a registry file to enable running as an administrator, dont be afraid, this is an old trick, and really easy.
Open notepad in Windows, and create a new doc, call it Add_MSI_run_as_administrator.reg
Paste this following code into the new doc
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Msi.Package\Shell\runas] "HasLUAShield"=""  [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Msi.Package\shell\runas\Command] @=hex(2):22,00,25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,\     00,25,00,5c,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,6d,00,\    73,00,69,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,63,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,22,00,20,00,2f,\   00,69,00,20,00,22,00,25,00,31,00,22,00,20,00,25,00,2a,00,00,00
Or download the file already made from my company server at http://www.theprojectdev.com/public/pub.html  **i put this there as a courtesy to help others like me, its just a complete reg file, so either create your own through copy and pasting above or download it.  Either way, put it on your desktop.
Now double click the new registry file, and allow/ok it to do its thing.
Once done, you can discard the file from your desktop, or keep, your choice.
Guess What!?  Now we can do the impossible!  Lets revisit that solution from before by going to the newest BootCamp 5.0.5033, and navigate to BootCamp/drivers/Apple and select that tricky BootCamp MSI file that wouldnt allow us to run, this time RIGHT CLICK it.  Because of our new registry entry we placed, we now have an option to "Run as Administrator"  Click that option.
WooHoo!  We have done what coudnt be done, BootCamp will now walk you through the installer, and add all the great support for Windows 8

  • Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?

    Hi,
I tried to install the Cisco_MOC_RCC_Plug-in.msi on a Windows 7, 64 bits. (CUPS is 7.0.8, the plug-in is coming from the CUPS server)
I use the command line, I receive the installation windows, do a complete install. But, after I don't see the Cisco Phone Selection tab in the MOC.
The same steps works properly on Windows XP, 32 bits.
I verified the Cisco document but they never mention the OS supported by the RCC plug-in.
Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually, it is mentioned on the CUPS server itself on the page of the plug-in download (CUPS Server admininstration > Applications > Plugins > ..).
    Here is a copy/paste from CUPS 8.0.4.x -
"The Cisco Unified Presence Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) 2007  Remote Call Control plugin allows MOC users to select which phone line  they wish MOC to control. When installed, the plugin will expose a CUP  web page within the MOC application where users can change their current  MOC phone line of control. This version is supported on Microsoft  Windows XP/Vista"
Although it doesn't mention windows 7 (32/64) (meaning dev team haven't tested it to certify), please feel free to give it a try.
    Thanks

  • Does Z97 XPOWER AC support windows

I am being very serious when I ask this question because I need to know if I have to rma this board or not.
The reason I ask is because
    1) all USB ports recognized/usable in BIOS
    2) all USB ports recognized/usable in Linux
    3) no USB ports recognized/usable by Windows
I have tried and tried for 4 days to get this to work. My previous Linux/Windows dual boot installation got trashed during this exercise. So I have reinstalled Linux with no problem.
I cannot install Windows. There is no keyboard during installation. I can get past that using the mouse (which is only available on 6 of the 12 USB ports), however I cannot get past the configuration because that requires me to type in formation, such as user names, passwords, etc!
Now I expected to have problems with Linux due to the fact no manufacturer supports Linux, MSI included but I certainly did not expect to have problems with Windows.
Sorry but this mobo cost me a fortune and I do not have the time to keep dragging my face down a cheese grater trying to debug this mobo for MSI.
I have flashed the latest BIOS (1.5) but that has not helped and laughably states I have to update the Intel ME drivers in Windows. That would be the os that II cannot install.
Yet again, I feel relaxed and happy with Linux and completely frustrated and pizzed off with Windows.
So unless someone here can tell me that this mobo does support Windows and gives clear easy instructions as to how I turn this Windows paper weight in to a dam good mobo (just like Linux thinks it is), I will have no choice but rma for a refund.

I recommend creating new usb install media using rufus and use GPT partition scheme for uefi computer from fresh windows ISO.
    Thank you
So my crazy question worked. It enticed you to read my post, laugh yourself silly before posting a solution that seems to be out of the box for everyone else I spoke to.
The reason I doubted your suggestion was because I have done countless installations of these disks but always legacy. I recently did a 5 system install that was UEFI but a quick chat with my friend reminded me that we used the clients CDs to crash through all 5 at the same time. So I downloaded a Windows 7 installation iso from the digital river site, burnt it to the USB and tried for the last time out of interest.
I now have a system that supports both Linux and Windows.
I have not yet installed all drivers, applications, etc but have every confidence that there will be no further problems.
I am going to really enjoy emailing the supplier to cancel the rma.
I cannot thank you enough mate

  • K7T Turbo limited edition can't support Windows XP!!!!

i'm user of K7T Turbo Limited Edition mainboard, i treid to upgrade my OS to Windows XP currently and i found that the installation aborted abnormaly when it reach windows is restarting phase, and my PC will just hang without giving any response, i'm wondering my mianboard can't support Windows XP. Another prob i face is my hp deskject 630c printer couldn't supported by the mainboard also, i had tested on other PC and it works truly well. Anyone facing similar situation ?? can i solve my prob with update the latest BIOS

    Hi!
There is no reason why your mobo (or printer for that matter, XP-drivers, both for parallel and USB interface can be downloaded from the HP site) would NOT support Windows XP.
It could be, however,  that you need to update BIOS first. If you have a BIOS version prior to 3.0, you will have to update.

  • Leopard 10.6.8  with Boot Camp 3.0.4 do not support Windows XP SP2???

    Hello!
I have my MacBook Pro with Leopard 10.6.8 with Boot Camp 3 on it.Reading a BOOT CAM article I could see that it supports Windows XP SP2.I just installed Windows XP SP2...and when I am trying to use the drivers from MAC DVD it says that BOOT CAMP needs Windows 7.Why I can not use XP?Or where I can get the proper drivers?I have downloaded Boot Camp Drivers XP update pack 2.1 and tried touse it in that XP but just double clicking on it doesn't happen anything:(
    Please Help.

Your saying BC 3.4 is on the Mac installer disk? I picked mine up in august 2011 and it only has 3.1 on it if I remember right. How did you check it?
As of today my BC Assistant says 3.4 but the Control panel in Windows only says 3.3, I figure it an't broke I'm not worried about it.
When you insert the disk, it asks you what to do, Run or Open, select Open.
Make a new folder on the desktop in XP, drag ALL the files over to it.
Right click on the setup.exe and select one of the options:
1)-Troubleshoot Compatibility, do what it suggests,
2)-Select Properties / Compatibility / click Run this program in Compatibility mode: then select XP sp2 and work your way up.
If anything pops up about permissions then right click on it again and select Run as Administrator.
If it still won't work then open the Boot Camp folder / Drivers folder / and install each one manually.
