MSI 760GM-P34 (FX) and vishera

So today came out the list of msi motherboards that will support the new vishera cpus. I was just wondering since i have the msi 760gm-p34 motherboard, why is it the only one that wont support the new cpus from the amd 700 chipset series? Every other can except this one and i would be very disappointed if the motherboard that i bought is the only one that cant support them.

This is a users to users forum. We don't know why or if MSI decides to implement support for certain cpus on certain boards. Just keep an eye on MSI's board list maybe yours will be added later. Also you could ask MSI: >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • MSI 760GM-P34 (FX) restarts and resets time and date

this motherboard started resetting itself, especially on Facebook.
I will be surfing or whatever and it will shut down and restart.
I get the normal windows error that it shut down unexpectedly and then everything loads normally.
if I shut it off completely, then restart, I get one beep then two beeps and it resets the time and date to 2012.
I have replaced the battery, reset the bios with the jumper, tested the hard drives , CPU,  power supply, card reader, video card, and everything else. All checked out fine and in working order.
the computer seems to run fine as long as I don't shut it off or as long as it don't reset its self.
the temp is around 70 degrees and everything seems fine otherwise.
    what could be causing this?
I like MSI boards but I'm thinking of going with ASUS or another brand if this motherboard is taking a crap after only 2 years. (I bought it Brand new)

if you do not have it installed already download MSI Control Centre from here http://www.msi.com/support/mb/760GMP34_FX.html#down-utility&Vista%2064 and install it! start the program and click overclocking-Basic and see what it says the DRAM voltage is set to there!
    it basically goes from " Core" X 800 - 2173.5  and "Ratio"  X 04 -X 10.5

  • Overclock AMD Athlon II X2 250 on MSI 760GM-P21 (FX)

I want to overclock AMD Athlon II X2 250 on motherboard MSI 760GM-P21 (FX), integrated video card from motherboard and MS-TECH VERTIGO 520W 80+ power supply.
But before buy this power supply I had a NoName 400w.
And when I oc on NoName PSU after 3,3 ghz I receive BSOD.
How to oc more than 3,3 ?
    Ty.

The CPU itself would work just fine up till the current draw exceeds the limit of CPU VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) and fry it. Even tho it's listed as supported don't use CPU over 95W and even then under heavy loads for longer periods of time a 95W CPU could possibly cause damage also. If using a 95W don't OC it any. The VRM on the 760GM was never intended for 125W CPU.
The only reason the 125W CPU is listed is because competing brands show support for them and MSI made the wrong decision to list them also just for competitive marketing purposes.

  • MSI 760Gm-P21(FX) PCI-E Frequency problem

I'm having difficulties maintaining a constant PCI-E frequency. AMD Overdrive always shows it to be 60Mhz (and It should be 100Mhz - if I'm not mistaken). Always - meaning at any BIOS settings - overclocked, underclocked and/or 'Optimized Default'.
So I got a letter from MSISupport saying basically that PCI-E frequency on my board is in fact proportional to HTLink frequency. Then I overclocked NB Frequency from 2000 to 2020 hence HTlink frequency went from 2000Mhz to 2020Mhz and fortunately got a reading of 101Mhz by AMD Overdrive.
Now it's all good exept for the fact that I can't overclock the system for gaming (by raising FSB and lowering HTlink and\or NB Freqency) sinse Htlink being set to anything other than 2020Mhz (giving me PCI-E Freqency of constant 101Mhz) - is for some reason set to 60Mhz.
Another thing that really concerns me is the fact that you can completely damage the videocard if PCI-E is set above the default 100Mhz. To add - you can really see the difference between 60Mhz and 101Mhz while playing the latest games (which is why to begin with I buit my PC).
    Here's my PC:
    AMD Athlon x3 450 (3.2Ghz overclockable to 3.6)
    MSI 760Gm-P21(FX)
    2x2Gb Kingston HyperX 1333Mhz (overclockable to 1600Mhz @1.6)
    Sapphire Radeon HD7770 (OC)
    250 Seagate 7200RPM 2.5"HDD (SATA)
Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 600 PSU (160fps on OCCT PSU test)

  • MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX) Problems

Hi i have this is issue. I recently made a new pc and i have a problem from the start. When i run the system and getting into windows the pc will stuck making some noise from speaker and then restarts witout blue screen appearance even if i have check not to automatic restart. The problem occurs at random times but mostly when i go to open a game the system always restarts. I tested all the parts on another computer and everything worked perfect. Please help me thanks in advance. All the components are at their normal clocks nothing overclocked. Used all the latest drivers.
Here are my full pc specs:
    Motherboard: MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX)
    CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHZ 8-CORE BOX
PSU: THERMALTAKE SPS-630MPCBEU SMART SE SERIES 630W CM 87+ PSU
    GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB Battlefield 4 Edition
    HDD: SEAGATE ST1000DM003 1TB BARRACUDA 7200.14 SATA3
SSD: CORSAIR CSSD-F128GBGS-BK 128GB 2.5'' SSD SATA3 FORCE GS SERIES
    RAM: G.SKILL F3-1600C7D-16GTX 16GB (2X8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHZ TRIDENTX DUAL CHANNEL KIT

it may work at idle (MSI do not put them at load in test as they only check it works) at load as we have had many reports that they throttle back to 800-1400MHz and report a Temp on the VRMS of 255C that is a automated throttle! <--- the MSI CPU support pages can sometimes be miss-leading as flobelix said its a 95W board and that 125W CPU will cause thermal throttling under load!
as for it not starting and just looping that may be due to a unsupported CPU due to a unsupported BIOS for the CPU so what is the boards BIOS version it has or what is its serial number of the board? <--- if your CPU is a low TDP one that is very good it may work ok but I would suspect even if it is a lower TDP one it may in time degrade and the board will thermal throttle as it will pull more power and overwhelm the board!
you where warned not to try using that CPU by flobelix so as you disregarded that its not surprising that your having a problem immediately using it!

  • No Audio on MSI 760GM-P23 (FX)

I just recently build a new computer using MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) running on Windows 7 Home Premium. I was able to get everything to work except for the on-board audio. The Realtek High Definition Audio always has "Not plugged in" status even if its rear audio jack is connected. I would like to know what is wrong with the on-board audio. Is there a disable setting somewhere for the on-board audio, because I can't get it to work even after downloading and installing the latest audio driver from MSI website.
Also, I can't test the front audio jacks, because I used my old mid-tower case, which its audio connector seems to be incompatible with the pins of JAUD1, but I doubt not connecting JAUD1 won't cause the rear audio jack not to work.

Oh, sorry, XFM. I completely missed your reply. Too much things are going on. It seems that I was having problem focusing.
Quote from: XFM on 23-February-13, 13:54:31
In your audio control panel, is it set for digital or analog out? ...
I think when you say "audio control panel", you are referring to "Realtek HD Audio Manager", correct? Since I wasn't able to get a single sound to work before, I don't have any idea how to use that audio manager. But after playing around with it, it seems that the sound card is set to Digital since the only visual jack ports on the right side that aren't grayed out is Digital. The analog jack ports are completely grayed out.
Quote from: XFM on 23-February-13, 13:54:31
...If I'm not mistaken those jumpers are only needed on the older AL'97 audio when not using front panel jacks, not the newer HD audio.
Are you talking about the pin layout of JAUD1? I am not very familiar with audio much, so I don't understand what you are saying. Nonetheless, I tried putting in jumpers and removing them. Both doesn't seem to make a difference except noticing an input jack detection to be plugged in and plugged out the next. For what port, I have no idea, so I removed the jumper now.
If it helps, I can plug in the front audio input panel if I know which connector goes in which pin. The connector MIC IN and MIC BIAS are the one that throws me off, which is why I ended up not connecting any. Here are all the pins I have on my old tower case:
    - L OUT
    - L IN
    - R OUT
    - R IN
    - MIC IN
    - MIC BIAS
    - GND

  • MSI 760GM-P23 - No video signal

Hey, I moved my gaming setup from my old Corona case to my new Cooler Master HAF 912 PLUS case, and connected everything like it was before, but now i can't get any video signal.
    My Gaming setup is:
    Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P23
    CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.6 Ghz
RAM: 2x2GB Kingston 1333 MHz Dual Channel
    PSU: Cooler Master GX550
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 TI

Remove the board from the case again and test it outside the case on a non-conducting surface in barebone configuration.  If it works again, then you know that you must have created some sort of short-circuit problem while installing everything in the new case.
    Such things happen a lot.

  • Unexpected reboots - MSI 760GM-P23

    Hi,
I've just purchased a brand new gaming PC with the following specs:
    - Amd Athlon X3 450 3.20 Ghz
    - MB MSI 760GM-P23
    - Club3d Radeon HD 7770
    - Onboard - 5.1 HD surround
    - 8GB Intern memory 1333Mhz
    - 500GB HDD
    - Onboard power supply Corsair CX 430M
OS: Win 7 professional 64 bit
Issue: When I'm playing a game (Assassin's Creed 2,3, Battflefield 3, etc) - all games which should run smoothly on this box -
after 3-4 hours I get an unexpected reboot. Have updated all graphics drivers and BIOS but still the problem persists.
There's no problem with power issue, have tried it on another electricity group which didn't solve the problem.
At the moment I'm thinking that the temperature might be the culprit. Have left the box open yesterday and placed a
ventilator next to it and I could play all day without a reboot.
CPU ventilator is working normally. Ventilator on the Graphics card is running on 20%, will try to increase that percentage
to see if it brings anything.
Does anyone has seen this issue before or can anyone give me some tips what might be the issue here ? Once: again: this is a brand
    new Gaming-PC !
Thanks for any help, information to track down this annoying problem
    Dimitry

The issue can have different sources like:
    Overheating
    PSU problem
Memory issues [typically BSOD or lockup, but sometimes can cause unexpected reboots too]

  • BsoD on MSI 760Gm P23 Fx(clock interrupt was not received on a secondary proces)

If i try to run some higher end games like battlefield 2 i'll just get this BsoD saying:
"A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval"
    Here's my system:
    MSI 760GM P23 FX
    Amd FX 6100 6 core processor 3.3
    16 gigs of ram
    Radeon HD 7750
    BIOS: 7641vH2
I've elsewhere of other systems with this problem fixing it with a bios update, but as far as i'm aware i have the current recommended bios for my MB/CPU combo. also my bios should be  at their default settings since they were installed. i don't recall tweaking them at all

that interrupt is a CPU clock instability I'm guessing that your CPU is auto boosting its clocks! you will need to access BIOS and turn off the Turbo Boost!
then give it a retest and see if it keeps doing the A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval thing as your board has a max TDP of 95W and under basic frequancy its right at that level and the turbo may be over stressing the power delivery (under turbo that CPU will pull over 100W or more)!

  • [MSI 760GM-P23 (FX)]High Pitched Noise near the CPU or from the CPU itself?

I just built this rig 3 weeks ago and I decided to update my BIOS because it's not compatible with Spec Ops: The Line, the game worked but the mobo/cpu started making these high pitched noise. I'm pretty sure it's not coming from the PSU because it at the bottom. The sound is not consistent
but it's really annoying when I hear it, do I need replace it or is there a way to get rid of it?
    Specs:
    AMD FX-6 6100 Black Edition 6 Core 3.3Ghz
    MSI 760GM-P23 (FX)
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2

PowerColor HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB GDDR
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII
    CIT 500w Power supply

In most cases such noises are the effect of resonance caused by a PSU that does not provide clean power (not able to properly filter the noise in the signals, especially under rapidly changing power demand conditions).

The only option is CD/DVD, which has the windows 7 disc inside. When I press enter it says "No bootable device, press any key to go back"  I can't get any further than that.
I tried a number of HDD's and DVD Drives, with the same unsuccessful results. I could use some assistance if anyone's nailed the source of this problem.

  • MSI 760GM-P23 (fx) bios upgrade issue

    Hello every body
I just bought a gamer PC from an computer supplier.
    Is has the following spec.
    AMD FX 4170 / 4.2 GHz Processor - AM3+
    MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) - Micro-ATX 3000 AM3+
    8GB DDR3 1600MHz Kingston HyperX (1X8GB)

Cooler Master Elite 430 - ATX Sort
Cooler Master GX Lite 600W - 120 mm
    22x DVD/RW DL Sort SATA
I had Windows 7 and all drivers installed and unit was working fine. I then decided to use the MSI Live Updater to update all drivers etc.
In this process the bios was updated to v.17.13 and before the update the unit was running v.H.A
After bios update had finished updating in Windows, i rebooted the system and then i have not been able to boot to Windows or Windows install 7 since.
I have uploaded 2 videos to youtube so that you all can see what the issue is
Search youtube for these two videos.
    UEBlBJrJXNo
    gvlNZl9Im6s
I have tried to downgrade the bios, and i dont get any error when trying to do so, but after rebooting the system again, i see that the bios has NOT been downgraded.
Can somebody tell me what might be the issue?
I personally think it is the BIOS chip it self, that was up by the update and now is somehow looked and faulty.
    HELP!!

Sounds like Live Update just claimed another casualty. Unless another forum user can come up with some more suggestions, it is most likely RMA time or a pc shop in your area that has an SPI flash programming device should be able to restore the BIOS chip for you.
Next time, for BIOS updates, please use the fourm's USB flash method.

like the grayone say, is true. for more ensure, try and search the graphic cards support list for your board at MSI (Sorry cause i don,t no is  where the site located)
in my opinion, most is compability for your card, when is a AGP slot.
Except the new one like the AGP slot, call AGR( Accelaration Graphic Riser slot) that really need to find a compatibility graphic cards.....
