  • Requesting UEFI GOP VBIOS for MSI Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr III 2GB GDDR5 OC

I've got two of these cards.
    Serial Numbers:
    602-V273-050B1212086274
    602-V273-050B1212085579
Also, what is the easiest way to flash my cards?  It looks like atiflash can only be used from a DOS boot disk, and I don't know where I can get DOS boot files.  Is there an easier way to do it?  Perhaps from within Windows?  I flashed my nvidia card from within Windows without any trouble.
    Thanks much!

  • UEFI GOP VBIOS MSI 7850 TWIN FROZR III 2GD5/OC

    Hello,
was wondering about the latest Bios for my card:
    S/N V273-050B1303033755
    Thanks for your help!
    Tom

    Use the attached.
Create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
Then unpack the provided archive (150.rar) and put the included file (TV273MH.150) on that stick.
Rename TV273MH.150 to 150.rom. Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 150.rom [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios.

  • Can MSI Radeon 7850 twin frozr III be used on MCP73M01H1 (Napa) ?

    Hi guys,
I just bought new graphic card (msi radeon hd 7850 twin frozr 2gb) and seasonic 650W power supply today.
And when I put them together with other hardwares and turn on the power, the monitor doesn't not detect any signal (dvi).
so I switched the dvi cable to the on-board graphic card then the monitor can display but the device manager only detects ob board graphic card.
then I put back gt 130 and it works perfectly as before.
then I tried putting 7850 back then same issue (monitor doesn't detect anything)
I can see the fans are running on 7850. My friend tested it with his computer and it's working fine...
    Help pls?
    My current specs are :
    Monitor: HP 2309m (1920x1080)
    Motherboard: MCP73M01H1 (Napa)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66 GHz
    Memory: 4 GB PC2-6400
Graphic card: msi radeon 7850 twin frozr III oc 2gb (previous one: GT 130 768MB)
PSU: seasonic 650W (previous one: 350W)

Yea. I've posted on their forum as well. But I was hoping the graphic card manufacturer will have info about the list of motherboards that support Radeon 7850 ??

  • [Tech Help Needed] GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB SC Fan Stops Working

    Hello everyone.
It's extremely rare for me to have computer issues, but this time it happened.
MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB SC, and here's the issue:
Whenever i turn on the computer the gpu fans spin for around 5seconds and after that they stop, for now they seem fine since i'm usually idling for the 1st 30minutes or so, but when i start playing games the gpu temperatures skyrocket to around 60-70 idling  in-game and the fans just won't start working, yes the the psu cables are connected to the gpu, bla bla ( duh ). i've had the gpu for around 2years and it worked fine but all of a "sudden" the fans just seem to not work and it starts getting very high temperatures, i've read someone complaining about the same issue and he was told to replace his gpu bios with some uefi bios and he said that the uefi update solved his fan issues which were the same as mine.
Now my problem is, i've never done that "Bios Flashing" and things like that and i don't know if my Board is compatible. If it worked for that person then it should work for me since the symptoms are literally the same. I've tried uninstalling the gpu drivers completely and installed again, the issue still persists.
If it's of any reference i own the following setup:
MB : ROG Asus Crosshair IV Formula
CPU : AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE
GPU : MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr III 2GB SC
    RAM : 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaw X 1600Mhz
PSU: Corsair GS 700 Gaming Series ( yes its more than enough and good enough )
I've literally had no problems whatsoever with my system for a few years now, and just like that the fans don't want to work, i can play games and what not, but at around 70ºC with no fans running ..... i've tried using MSI Afterburner to boost the fan speed, the fan speed setting gets set but the rpm stays at 0. i also made it to run on windows start and its still at 0 RPM.
Will the uefi bios solve my problem like it did to the other person with the exact same issue?
Thank you for your time spent reading, hopefully it will be solved.

Still no reply after 2 days, impressive support right there ... every other post that came after got replied ...
Anyway, if its also relevant about my issue :
    - Fans briefly spin after i press the power button to turn on my computer and stop right after around 3-5s and never spin again until i shutdown and power on again for the same brief spin.
    - If i force the fans on Afterburner to 90% or above ( 100% ) they spin and make unsupportable noise.
Also if its of any relevance :
    N660 TF 2GD5/OC
    S/N: 602 - V287 - 050B1302044857
At least provide me with the most up-to-date uefi/gop vbios or whatever that is, to see if it fixes my problem, otherwise recommend me a substitute cooling system that i can use ( a good one, not 3rd rated ) to replace the stock cooling in this because i don't have the money to get another card, and if i get one it won't be from msi for sure.
    Very dissapointed.

  • R6950 Twin Frozr III 2gb Problem

Hi guys, got a problem with one of my cards that is in Crossfire..
    Setup - i7 920, 20gb Gskill DDR3 1600mhz, Asus P6T Deluxe, Corsair AX950w 80+, 2 x  R6950 Twin Frozr III 2gb Catalyst 12.3
Problem - These card's have been fine for around 6 months working in crosfire. Last couple of days defects have started to appear and now one of the card fails to be reckognized. I have taken out the card and tried it in another system and the system wont even post. I have tried switching the fan profile to see if this helps but still no post. 1st card is working perfectly in my main system and other systems I have.
Even bigger Problem - The shop where I have purchased the cards "SELEXIUM" last year is now bankrupt. Here is the article http://www.societe.com/societe/sarl-nextware-504241654.html
So I really dont know what to do, I have logged a ticket with msi to see if they can help..
Does anybody have experiance with MSI and returning cards directly to them in Europe ? Will they accept a RMA from a End User ?

for europe, its only via reseller.
contact near MSI office and explain the situation.

  • MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC memory clock?

I have had an MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC for about 6 months now and have used MSI Afterburner to monitor temps etc. Today I used it to lower my overclocking as others had said Ghost Recon Future Soldier doesn't crash if you take it off.
If you look at the MSI product page for the card (the forum won't let me post a link to it!?) you can see the Memory Clock Speed(MHz) says 4000 yet in Afterburner mine said 2000Mhz and the slider was in the middle. I am pretty sure there is no multiplier at work here so mine wasn't being overclocked?
Any ideas? I have reduced it down to 1800Mhz and GRFS doesn't crash anymore but can I take it up to 4000Mhz safely in future? I do not want to overload the card.

you have multiply the memory value x2 to get the effective speed

  • MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE/OC "No Signal"?

    Hi guys!
I've just bought the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE/OC, but my monitor dosent recieve any signal at all. Both power cables are plugged in, and my PSU should be big enough to manage it.
The slot works fine with my old card, a HD 5450, so is my card faulty?
    Win 7 32 bit
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H55M USB3 rev 2.0
    Proccesor: Intel Core i5 2.80
    PSU: OCZ600MXSP 600W
    Memory: 4GB

The card has two power cables, which both are plugged in. If not, a red LED lights up in the card.
I've just removed the power cable form the mobo and removed the battery from the mobo to do a clear CMOS, but unfortunately with the same results. The fans are running, but my screens says "No Cable" and goes completely black

  • MSI R7950 Twin Frozr III Temp Issues

I have been having issues with my video card (MSI R7950 Twin Frozr III) under load and previously even while  idle with temperatures being way higher than they should be. Browsed many forums and it was suggested that I change the thermal paste, which fixed part of the issue (The video card under "normal" load went from 95C to 75-84C while at 90 to 100% load the temperatures rises back up to the 90s). Before changing the thermal paste, the idle temperatures were around 60, under regular load a little over 90 as stated previously.
The video card runs perfectly otherwise which has me thinking it's most likely a problem related to the heatsink and cooler itself.
I'd personally rather avoid RMA if possible so my question is, is it possible for a cooler/heatsink to cause such a high temperature issue and if so, would purchasing an aftermarket cooler fix the problem or could there be other issues leading to the high temperatures other than the cooler/heatsink itself?
    Thank you for your time.
In case this is relevant in any way:
    Intel i5 750 OC'd @ 3.74GHz
    ASUS P7P55D-E Pro
    Antec EarthWatts 750W +3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V1@40A, +12V2@40A, +12V3@40A, +12V4@40A, -12V @ 0.5A, [email protected]
    CORSAIR XMS3 2x4GB CMX8GX3M2B1600C9
    WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.
    Catalyst 12.4

After flashing to this vbios, I seem to have gained performance, but the card also seems to be running a bit more hot which could be affected by me being in a different area in the game or slightly higher temperature in my room around the computer, etc.
I haven't tried changing drivers lately, had before when I first was faced with this temperature problem (Have been busy for a while and never bothered trying to figure the issue or try reapplying thermal paste to see if it would fix it until I got time for it recently). I tried both AMD's official drivers, the drivers I had at the time for my 4890 as well and the MSI auto-update software, none of which seemed to fix the heat problem.
If you believe I should try drivers now and see if it can fix the problem once again I don't mind trying.

  • MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE strange heat issue!

Hi guys, yesterday i've decided to upgrade my PC with brand new Sandy Bridge configuration, but after the first boot i've had a very unpleasant surprize with my VGA card .Right after power on my PC everything went good, display was on and showing the Bios Setup screen, but after 30-40 seconds my the VGA fans started to spin at full speed and restarted the system but after that my 40" lcd display was only showing  "no signal detected" .From this point i've tried everything to get my system going,i've disabled the onboard VGA,swapped RAM modules, toggle every PCI and PCI-E add-on cards, bios reset but the issue was still there.
A couple of times i've managed to get into Windows OS but after 10 second the PC restarted again.I'm not really sure what's the issue here but i do noticed that after 10 second from boot the VGA card is getting very hot (can touch it only for 1 second) but only in the area near the power connectors, next to the capacitors...
    Here's my configuration:
    - CPU: Intel i5 2500K
    - MoBo: Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
    - RAM: Corsaire Vengence 8GB (2x4GB) DDR 1866
    - PSU: Enermax Liberty 620 W
    - VGA: MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE
    - Case: Cooler Master HAF-X
BTW,my old MSI Radeon HD4870 is working with the above configuration and i also tested the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III PE on 3 different PCs same had same issue,so if you guys have any idea about this issue please post here.

Yeah,i've already compiled the RMA form with the retailer but it doesn't have this VGA in stock anymore.I really hope it won't need months for the RMA procedure.

    Motherboard: ASROCK 960GM/U3S3 FX

    Link to Bios:

Latest VBIOS for the 050 is TV273MH.150
flash it by booting from USB key to pure dos, then execute:
    atiflash -f -p 0 xxxx.BIN [ENTER]
where xxxx.BIN will be your vbios file
You may want to flash the mainboard bios to the latest version as well just to make sure, but it should be fine.

  • 7850 Twin Frozr III UEFI bios doesn't work with CSM mode off

Hello, everyone! I'm using two 7850 twin frozr III with both having the 050 serial numbers and I've flashed both of my cards with the 050 uefi bios provided somewhere in this forum. The system works fine on legacy boot mode but the problem is that, whenever I turn off the CSM option in the bios to try and boot in fast boot, the system just won't boot. Kinda like no video or something.
    Here's my system specs:

    8gb of ram (dual channel)
    650w 80+ bronze PSU
    2x 500gb WD Hard disk

clear cmos of your mainboard, else contact mainboard vendor to have ask

  • Is the MSI 570gtx twin frozr iii being discontinued

Newegg has this card as deactivated, Amazon has it temporarily out of stock, and Tigerdirect used to carry it now it is gone. I ordered mine from Amazon last May 25 and it still has not shipped. What's happening to this card??

    ^same!
    BUMP!
I ordered this card in one online shop on the 30th of June. It was one of the very few shops in Germany where it was listed as available. The next day I got a message that the card would be delivered on the 13th of JULY!
On the 13th of July I received a mail from the shop, that the card won't be shipped until the 27th. In the meantime no online shop had this card listed as available!
I cancelled my order on the 13th and ordered from another place where I was assured that a shipping was underway due 21st. Yesterday I called them only to find out that the shipment has been delayed. It is now expected in 11 days! This means that they are expecting the cards around the 1st of AUGUST! You cannot find an MSI N570 GTX Twin Frozr III PE OC in any online shop in Germany to this day.
I ordered my card on the 30th of June and it will be more than a month before I get it. This card vanished from the market here for the whole month of July. As a passionate fan and potential customer, I'd very much appreciate an explanation.
    Thanks!
