MSI 785GT-E63 & Windows 7 x64 : Cool'n'Quiet

Hello,
Can you help me to configure my mainboard to active Cool'n'Qiet and Windows 7 x64.
I have Cool'n'Quiet : Enable in my Bios.
I have follow this method for Windows : http://www.vista4beginners.com/power-management
But my problem is that my CPU fan isn't lower.
I have try with "Dual Core Center" and it's work in "Silence mode" but i don't know how configure it to auto launch in "Silence mode"
I will prefere using Cool'nQuiet without other software like "Dual Core Center" but if there aren't other solution i will use it.

MSI 785GT E63 questions...

Hi everyone, I just built my desktop and a few things don't seem to be working right. My basic setup:
MSI 785GT-E63
AMD Athlon X2 64 Windsor
Seasonic 520W PSU
4x1GB Crucial DDR2 800 MHz
1. I have two CPU fans because I bought an aftermarket CPU cooler. One of them doesn't work. Do I have to plug them in into certain places? The BIOS says only "System Fan 2" is working, not "Systen Fan 1".
2. How do I get it to boot using a USB stick? I plan on installing Windows 7 through USB and I can't seem to find an option for it. I am used to seeing something like "Boot Priority" or something. Do I just press a key on the screen that shows the whole MSI thing? Normally I press "DEL" for the BIOS menu. Should I press something like F12 for boot menu?
3. Is it common for new motherboards, or MSI motherboards, to ship with dead USB ports or did I wire up something wrong? I plugged my USB keyboard/mouse in the back and it didn't work, but I plugged it into any of the other 4 USB ports and it worked.
Additional Notes: It does boot into my old installation of Windows just fine. Do I just need to install the new drivers/utilities to make sure the motherboard works? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Overclocking using a MSI 785GT-E63.

Here is my current setup and settings that would most likely matter:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 90nm (2.8 GHZ stock)
4x1GB DDR2 800 MHz
Seasonic 520W PSU
MSI 785GT-E63 ATX Motherboard
Memory is error free according to memtest86, CPU and motherboard and PSU are proven to work fine. Here are the overclock settings:
2.8 ---> 3.29 GHZ
Using an upgraded CPU cooler and the CPU runs very cool.
CPU: 1.495V
x14 Multiplier
235 MHz FSB
100 MHz PCIe (Locked)
x4 HT Multiplier (~900 MHz HT)
FSB RAM Ratio of 667 MHz, 1.66 (RAM speeds are around 740 MHz according to BIOS)
Stock CPU-NB, NB, and RAM Voltages.
Stock RAM Timings.
Passed 30 Minute OCCT Linpack Test (Max 55 Deg C)
Passed 2 Hour 40 Minute OCCT Standard Test (which is good enough to me)
Windows 7 64 Bit
Now, when I change the settings to anything higher than 235 FSB at the x14 multiplier, I get certain BSODs that I've been trying to figure out. One was "BAD POOL CALLER" and the other was "MEMORY MANAGEMENT".
The FSB limit is definitely not at 240, because I have done 270x12, and 240x13 before. I keep reading many OCing guides and nothing seems conclusive. The NB temperature doesn't seem to get high. System temperature seems to be NB Temperature according to answer I got on these forums (and it's 32 C), and when I touch it I barely feel any heat at all.
Some say to raise CPU-NB Voltage, and some say to raise the NB Voltage. Should I raise one, or the other, and how high should I raise the voltages? I would like people experienced with this specific motherboard/similar motherboards to help me out. The north bridge seems to be cooled only by a heat sink, and not a fan if that means anything. I don't think I need to raise the CPU voltage because it is pretty high as is. I'm really thinking it is all memory related...but memtest says the memory is ok.

XP SP3 MSI 785GT-E63 crash and reboot

Whenever I start certain programs the OS crashes and restarts, and comes back with this error code;
BCCode:10000050 BCP1:FF8F0005 BCP2:00000001 BCP3:8056211D BCP4:00000000 OSVER:5_1_2600 SP:3_0 Product:256_1
I have tested the RAM with Memtest86+ multiple passes 0 errors.
It's mostly games and catalyst software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used auto timings on RAM when I first built the PC and the same problem came up, will try it again though.
The programs that cause the crash; Catalyst drivers setup(10-4 and 10-7 both cause the crash), Farcry 2 (when un-installing Farcry 2 the crash happens). If I don't start the programs there is no crash. Most types of programs work with no problem, Nero, Padus, Handbrake, AutoGK, Mozilla.

MSI 785GT-E63 CPU Help

I have the MSI 785GT-E63/780GT-E63 motherboard and I am needing to know what would be the best AMD cpu for htis motherboard. I know the AMD Phenom II X4 980 HDZ980FBGMBOX Black Edition Processor - Quad Core, 6MB L3 Cache, 2MB L2 Cache, 3.70 GHz, Socket AM3, 125W, Fan, Unlocked, Retail and the AMD HDE00ZFBGRBOX Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Processor - Six Core, 6MB L3 Cache, 3MB L2 Cache, 3.30GHz, Socket AM3, 125W, Fan, Unlocked, Retail will fit but which would be the best as far as being the fastest for this motherboard or can you suggest a faster cpu for this?

What do you do by the computer? Modern processors are rather powerful, and I bet you whatever you choose it will live rather a relaxed life 99 % of the time.
That said, I think if you have the opportunity and cash you should go for the most expensive processor you can. I hope that means the 6-core processor.

Need help unlocking cores in 560 be in msi 785gt-e63

help i cannot get my motherboard to unlock the additional cores
i have the latest bios dated from nov 2010 with a black edition 560 cpu
under the bios section i enable both advanced clock calibration and unlocke core and the system does not reboot i then clear the cmos and i can start all over.....enter date, time with these opyions enable the system refuses to boot with either one one i can start but on only dual cores
i dont have the iption listed in the manual as EC Firmware but i figured this is outdate late 2009 manual since the firm ware that the motherboard came with was 10/25/2010
please there must be a step or process i am missing ???? currently running windows 7 ultimate 64 with 3 gigs of memory everything else works perfectly except for the unlocking of the extra cores

Also please remember that not all cpu's will unlock.
As you state it, it looks like the locked cores are faulty, cause when you unlock them, the system doesnt want to boot at all.
I might be wrong though.

I also use cpuid hwmonitor to check temps n volts 12 vlt rail is at 12.05 during load. The gpu load temps on the lightning nvr exceed 72c at stock and 76c with the oc. Should I get a new mobo? Compatibility issue? I was looking at a asrock 990fx extreme 3 as this would allow me to upgrade my CPU later if I choose. I am on my current main pc bc bulldozer didn't grab me. Some benches r less than the x6s, my two 6970s perform btr than a single 7970 for my needs and the only increase I would see is if I got two 7970s that's way to much coin n would be bottlenecked by my current CPU I'm sure. Any ideas? I'm at a loss

785GT-e63

Recently did an install with MSI 785GT-E63 Mobo
CPU: AMD 64 X2 6000+
RAM: 2x 2Gig Kingston
Harddrive: 2x 320Gig WD
OS: Windows 7 (64bit)
Graphic Card: On-board
Computer Case: Cooler Master Elite 310
Problem is it worked good on start up, then next day the cmos light stopped lighting along with the DVD Rom light keeps flashing and the rom won't open i rearranged the cable but the problem still persist as though the and the second hard drive doesn't detect on windows when i go into the cmos i see all the drives but it's also not making on of the drives the master to boot can someone lend me some assistance.

785gt-e63 CPU VID voltages?

MSI 785GT-E63 mb, everything's set to auto, no oc'ing.
8GB of Kingston DDR2 ram, memory tested fine.
When I installed AMD Overdrive to check on voltages and things as I am getting BSOD with bug code 124 in Win 7 64 bit.
The one voltage that fluctuates is CPU VID, overdrive shows it should be at 1.400 and it fluctuates from 1.025 - 1.400, is this normal? It is now doing this with 2 different power supplies.
Current one: (Unknown Manfuacturer)
Model: PS-400W
DC OUTPUT
Max Current
+3.3V = 28A
+5V = 40A
+12v(1) = 20A
+12v(2) = 20A together both +12V = 20A
-12V = 1A
-5V = 0.8A
+5VSB = 2.5A
Other one I tried: Antec

+5V = 20A
+3.3V = 20A
+12v(1) = 17A
+12v(2) = 15A
-12V = 0.8A
+5VSB = 2.5A
Any ideas as to why I would be getting BSOD with Bugcheck 124?

Yes CPU voltages go up and down, it's normal because C&Q does that.
As Bas said, the fact that the Core Voltage fluctates is normal. This is a power saving feature of your processor. These fluctuations should not cause any troubles under normal circumstances. That is why there is usually no reason to turn off the C&Q feature.
However, for testing purposes you can always turn this feature off, just to find out if that will yield any change regarding your BSOD problem. You are then able to determine whether or not your BSODs are C&Q related.

The power needs of this configuration are not that demanding, which means both of your PSUs should actually to be able to handle all of your components, given of course that the specifications are correct and that both PSUs are functioning properly.

Perhaps that will help you to do further analysis of the BSODs. Please also check the Windows error log and look for any indication of other exceptional errors occuring around the BSODs.
Temporarily disabling some of the peripheral onboard components may also help to find possible causes (e.g. NIC, onboard sound). You could also test a stand-alone video card (with low power demands) to circumvent the onboard video adapter for testing purposes.
Furthermore, I would also disconnect the optical drive completely for testing purpose and run a diagnostic test on the hard drive using a dedicated Samsung utility.

785GT-E63 latest bios is buggy

S.3 bios update is buggy compared to S.2
APS & Cool and Quite does not work
Plus it is not easy to unlock CPU core on that bios.

785GT-E63 won't boot

The setup:
MSI 785GT-E63
AMD Athlon II x2 Regor 2.9 ghz
Crucial 2x2GB DDR2
I have an old SATA hard disk and an old IDE DVD drive in there as well.
I cannot get the system to boot as far as BIOS. My initial instinct was a bad processor/MB, which I returned to Newegg. They shipped me out new ones, which I have installed and I am still in the exact same position. Does anyone have any advice for me?

You need to start the CPU somehow.
I think of 3 options:
1. BIOS doesn't support your CPU.
2. Memory isn't good
3. CPU power isn't plugged in
Show us a picture of your system.
Exactly why I think it's dead RAM - if it's removed I get the 'no ram' error beeps, if it's in, no boot, and no beep.
1) not sure what to do about that, the motherboard lists this CPU as suppored

3) pretty sure I nailed this one, BOTH times, since they sent me a replacement CPU.
Let's see if this attach image thing works...
