MSI 845 Pro - Memory Problems

I have an MSI 845 Pro(FC-PGA2) mainboard.
So far I have tried PNY PC133 129MB DIMMS and Windows keeps resetting itself at random intervals or the logo screen pops up and it will reset.
I then tried an unbranded make of 256MB and it kept freezing during installation.
The only memory that does work is Kingston 65MB PC133.
I have now very PO`ed if this mainboard will not accept any other brand of memory.
Please if you have suggestions then post them or PM me.

MSI 845 Pro no OS boot

I was working on a computer for my friend and after finding out the problem was the pwer supply we replaced it, only to have the motherboard boot, but only to the state where it will boot from the drives. Then it locks and hangs and does nothing. I Checked everything and I don't know whats wrong with it. Anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong?

Like I said it locks up when it should be booting from the hard drive or CDrom drive.

The Video card was failing. It would only boot in VGA mode. The power supply he had was only a 320 watt and knowing that he had a Sound Blaster in it I knew it most likly was the power supply. The new one's specs are

And I removed everything and started from just the chip and worked my way from there adding devices and I didn't find any problems with regards to the beeps. The computer boots to the post fine. It just locks up after the post right before it should boot from the CDrom or floppy or Hard drive. I alos put the other devices in another computer to see if they work and they do, so I am really at a lose as to what is wrong with the board.

MSI 9800 PRO Display problems on my TV

Hi. i use MSI 9800 PRO R360. when i want to watch my desktop on both my MOnitör and Tv There is only seems my desktop scene. when i put the icons on right part on monitör with mouse , icons seems on Tv From left. and icons seems only on Tv now not on monitor... i hope you understood me.what is the problem?

Check if you are "extending" or "cloning" your video, probably the first one (gives you extra deskto space, instead of a replica of your monitor on tv.)
A question: My tv output sucks, it's too dark, and I have no brightness controls in my control panel (for the tv). ¿any workarounds?

MSI 845 Pro4 6391 problem with 512mb ram.

Configuration:
MSI 845 Pro4 6391 board
768 mb. PC133 sdram (3 x 256)
Gforce2 mx/mx 400, 64 mb.
Realtech PCI 10/100 ethernet
PCI modem, Generic SoftK56
Firewire controler, Texas Instruments
Maxtor 40GB and Maxtor 60 GB harddrives
DVD drive and CD-Rom burner.
Dual Boot - Win98/WinXP home
Problem:
With more that 512 mb ram, regardless of the which ram blocks or the size of these, certain programs refuse to run in either win98 (VCACHE is set to 512 mb) or winXP. A program may run under win98 but not under winXP and vice versa. The machine also seems to be a bit more unstable in general with more than 512 mb.
Both the board drivers and bios have been updated with the latest versions. Burnin tests have been run without showing any errors.
With 512 mb or less there are no problems.
Apart from the option that it is a known, but undokumented problem, (which a leading manufakturer like MSI wouldn´t be a part of, or would they) I have come to the conclusion that there is a fault in the motherboard.
Any suggestions or sollutions?

first some boards never seem to run 3 dimms in harmoney
second it is normally more likley to work if they are all same brand and size
third 98 can throw a wobbler with over 512 i assume thats the reg fix your referring to
my self i would not buy a third matching as i cannot put hand on heart and say that will 100 percent fix it
test report does not help at all as all were 64 dimmslink

Do MSI 845 Pro mainboard only work with Kingston memory ? Plz Help.

The reason I am asking is because I have a P4 1.4ghz with 65MB Kingston value ram.
I tried upgrading to PNY 128MB PC133 Mhz and the PC kept resetting before Windows ME would even load or it would get into Windows and reset at random intervals.
I then tried and unbraned 256 MB and the same problem occurs.
My PC will only load Windows ME and be 100% stable with the Kingston 65MB PC133 memory.

I have just checked your motherboard on Crucials website becasue they have their own specific memory selector which tells you in advance if their brand of memory will work on your motherboard.
All you do is use the drop down catergaories to select your exact motherboard and Crucial will tell you if their memory is 100% compatible or not (i tested for you and it was fine... but you can test for yourself for piece of mind)
Crucial memory is an excellent brand and i highly recommend them, they have free next day delivery and no quibble money back guarentee and they are not that expensive either... check the link below out and select your motherboard.

Mac Pro memory problems, or...?

I've been experiencing intermittent "goofy behavior":
1. fine horizontal black line across a window, today I had one half across the menu bar.
2. hangs -- i.e., will not respond to any keypress, mouse click, etc.
3. in the course of working through the usual list of troubleshooting steps I discovered that my Mac Pro does not recognize any of the startup keys http://option, cmd-opt-PR, shift, cmd-S, ...
- I have substituted an older Mac keyboard for the aluminum keyboard - still no startup keys
4. I've done the usual preferences, disk maintenance, etc.;
5. I can't run Hardware Test due to non-functioning startup keys [need D key for h/w test]
6. When the CPU wouldn't wake from sleep I got the below post-restart report.
7. I've run memtest two full nights, no errors detected.
8. I've removed the 2GB of OWC extra memory, running with Apple stock 1GB to see...
Any suggestions that may accelerate isolation would be much appreciated. Restart report follows:

OK, updated the ATI drivers. I did NOT get auto-updated by Software Update. For ref, now have

Sadly, still seeing video artifacts -- I now have some evidence these are RAM-related.
Memory config when the video artifacts started was:
A-1 Apple 512MB
A-2 Apple 512MB
B-1 OWC 1GB
B-2 OWC 2GB
I ran for a while with OWC removed -- still saw artifacts, though possibly less frequent.
After fixing the startup key problem I was able to run the Hardware Test extended test this AM. Which reported no errors.
I then swapped OWC and Apple -- ran for several hours with no artifacts, then "screen rash" reoccurred followed very shortly by a hang [no mouse nor keyboard input], hard restart.
I've run the digLloyd run-stress-test to heat up RAM, then Rember/memtest -- no errors.
Does anyone know definitely whether RAM Riser A or B is used first?
Other suggestions?

MSI Z77A-G43-memory problem

I bought lately new cpu,mb and memory. When i turned it on it was still rebooting after few seconds after start. So i treid to put just one memory in slot. It worked but only if memory is in bank 3 or 4. In 1,2 computer is still rebooting. Also it works with two memory modules, but putted in 3,4 slots only. And just in single channel. I saw that many people have the same problem and shop service wrote them that it works like that. First You put memory in slots 3,4 and then in 1,2. It is strange for me. I don't have two another memory modules to check if this is true and I want to that it works in dual channel, not single. So, is this true or mb is broken?

Hello. I have the same problem, except, I use 4 Dimms in 4 slots on my MSI board. I installed speaker on MB to see if there are any beep sounds during the booting, but all seems ok. The problem is the PC keeps still rebooting after about 5 sec. from the start. There aren´t any visual information on screen, since the start is so short. I tried to install dimms in 2nd and 4th slot first. Then to 1st and 3rd. In both cases the problem was still the same. When I put all rams in all 4 slots, the result is the same (restart for ethernity). The only way that goes is the PC runs with only 1 dimm in either 1st or 2nd slot. I tested all the memory modules and all of them work fine. I even tried this on a differennt mainboard from ASUS P8Z77-V LX. Now I tested it on MSI Z77A-G43. Both mainboards are new. There is a very slim change that both of them would be defective. Before I got MSI MB, I ran couple of days on the ASUS MB and everything was perfect, so I don´t think that CPU is defective. I even ran a few benchmarks on it. But I still don´t understand why can´t I run the system with all 16 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB in one slot. Please help me.

MSI P55A Fuzion Memory problem

I have a problem that i am trying to solve so I need your help.
My motherboard MSI P55A Fuzion detects memory 12 GB Kingmax (2x4GB DDR 3 1600 and 2x2GB DDR3 1600) but my OS is showing 1g GB but 6GB usable memory.
I have googled a couple of topics on that subject but haven't really found the solution.
BIOS version is 1.20, my operating system is a windows 7 64 bit that supports more than 4 GB
I also tried stacking the memory one by one and with 3 sticks i could get a 10 GB full.
I don't think it's an OS issue since i checked out max memory in advance boot options.
Please help me out, it's really getting on my nerves

Mixing memory is the way to make sure you are running into problems. While using four sticks is already maxing stress for the ram controller you are also mixing capacities and different ram srticks. Get a proper matched kit and it will work.

MSI P55-CD53 Memory Problems

I have a P55-CD53 with a 4GB memory kit from Crucial (CT2KIT25664BA1339) that according to Crucial is recommended for my board. I am running win 7 x64 Ultimate for my OS.
I have read a few posts that mentions changing voltages to 1.575 and charge time to 2T and it seemed to work for most. I tried 1.55V with the 2T and I still had crashes and blue screens. I tried 1.6V and my machine did not boot, just a blue screen with memory error detected. The next time it did boot, but I noticed that the memory voltage had gone back to auto. Many more problems and I changed back to 1T also. Now I am able to use my machine for more than a few minutes.
I have tried just to let my machine idle overnight and it has always had a blue screen in the morning. I went to the Crucial site and they mentioned a program to test my memory. http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ That program will throw errors and blue screen my machine.
So I tried memtest86+ off of a boot disk. I ran it for over 3 hours with no errors.
I noticed others have posted images of their memory so here is mine. So what can I do to get this machine stable? By the way I am not overclocking.

MacBook Pro Memory Problems

My MacBook Pro is telling me that I ran out of memory on it. I have had it for only a year and don't save much on it. I have downsized as much as possible, yet it still is decreasing in available memory. What can I do about this? My sister has the same computer and has even had hers longer, and she still has plenty of room. In fact, she has more on her computer than I have on mine. Why am I already out of room?

815E Pro - memory problems

Hi,
When the below described memory modules is installed, Win2K freezes after about 1-5 minutes. BIOS finds the memory and state them as OK. system boots up normally.
The Memory installed is the following:
DIMM1: Spectek P32M6416YLEF7 133CL3A S80016LK7TW PC133 256Mb
DIMM2: Apacer (Samsung) 71.84352.464 K4S280832A-TC75 PC133 256Mb
The Samsung is ECC Registered, the SpecTek is non-ECC I think.
I have tried putting them in different slots but no change.
Either one or the other works perfectly alone in the system, but not together it seems.
I have an 815E Pro, Intel PIII 866Mhz, Windows 2000 SP2, ASUS V7700 GeForce2 GTS, Soundblaster Live 5.1, Adaptec 2940UW, Pinnacle Systems Firewire

Actually this happens on RAM that has only four memory chips, So I guess that it cannot address such larg capacity chips.

it's pc2 6400 800mhz cl 4-4-4-12
with 2x 512mb en 2x 1gb
I installed Vista 64 home premium and bought 8 gigs DDR2, it's 2 sets of 4gb

When i plug em in and turn on my PC i wont get any signal AT ALL, my monitor doesnt even react and stays on standby mode. I re-plugged my old memory and everything works fine. I changed the volts, which were on 2.1V, to 1.8V in my Bios and tried again, no reaction. I tried several combinatiosn and only 1 set of the new memory but it doesnt work.
Is it mayb the BIOS that needs an update or should i change Volt AND the CL 5-5-5-15 timings?
According to the website of MSI my mobo would be able to use the new memory i bought doesnt it?
I hope any1 of u experts got an idea =)

Well, put command rate at 2T and try all 4 sticks, however it might fail again as the CPU needs to be able to start before the BIOS kicks in.
Judging on your higher needed voltage, these sticks are not very good....

This doesn't sound very promising either.
AMD is NOT Intel, it has a far faster memory controller then the listed testing systems....else try DDR667 and see what happens if you use that speed.

Msi Rx9800 Pro,overheating Problem?

Today,Temp outside was 34gC in the dark side...temp in my appartament aprox 27gC,temp sistem =40gC,temp proc=50gC...my screen go in black,and the sound still hear but with breaks...comp no restart himself,I restart PC and =OK,this problem apear ONLY in all 3D GAMES after 5min ...NO artefacts,image is perfect.The VGA card is overheating?is NO OC!Work for 2 mounth witout any problem in all this GAMES,but today...After i shuth down computer for 1 hour, i ON my PC, this GAMES work well aprox 30 min ...now i 'm at work mabe tomorow is possible to stay more to find what is the problem!...
To be the VGA card problem?To be mobo?PSU?
The VGA card have only one PCI slot free in the VGA cooler side...

I don't know...but my RX9800 pro is verry hot,I can put the finger on the heatsinker only 2secconds!on the full load(in 3D games)

I play games 3 day after the trouble and work well,sistem temp are now 37gC and proc 43gC,now don't crash...I think it was one heat problem...but I'm not for sure it was :mobo,VGA or PSU ...

MSI P55-GD65 memory problem

I have a problem with memory in Windows 7-64bit. It only use 3GB of 4 GB, despite the fact PC recognize all 4GB RAM. It say that 1 GB it's hardware reserved. Today I updated BIOS to 1.5 version due to announce that "Fixed system report incorrect memory size when install 8G memory"
What I've already done:
1. Checked the socket for bent pins as I found the solution in other topic here. I have a LOTES socket and didn't find any bent pin or no contact pad on CPU
2. Swapped the two RAM modules between them. No use.
3. Checked RAM modules in another PC, AMD processor and there was no problem, recognized 4GB, used 4GB.
4. Run memtest86+ - no error found.
The strange fact is that in Linux (Gentoo) I set swappines to 90(%), mounted a tmpf (3GB size) in an empty folder and filled it until it was full. No swap occurs - 3.4 GB RAM was full. (I used top). So, it seems that the PC it's able to use more than 3GB.
I really appreciate any clue, suggestions.

I always clear CMOS after a BIOS update and it's Windows 7 64 bits for sure.

I redo again tmfs test on Linux. System is hardware capable to use all 4GB. So I decided to reinstall Windows because it was preinstalled by my PC vendor. It didn't bother me until now.
And... big surprise: Windows recognize all my 4GB. Well, so far, so good. I installed drivers from Intel, Realtek, Logitech and Hauppage. No problem with memory. The hardware reserved memory it's now 9MB + perfectly normal.
Now, I remained with curiosity: what was the problem ? OS - it can't be, old drivers, bloatware preinstalled apps ? I suppose I'll never find out.

MSI Z68A-GD80 Memory Problem

I've had an issue with this motherboard since I built my computer back in May, it will not POST whatsoever if I have my RAM in dual channel mode with memory in DIMM 1 and DIMM 3, but it will boot fine with one stick in DIMM1 or 2 sticks in DIMM 1 and 2. I've tested each stick of RAM individually in slot one and they both work fine by themselves. Any help would be appreciated!
Specs are:
Intel i7 2600k, MSI Z68A-GD80 Mobo
(2x4gb sticks) 8gb Corsair Dominatior GT RAM 1.5v
EVGA 580 GTX
120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
1.5TB Western Digital Caviar Black HD
910w PC Power and Cooling PSU
Zalman 9900 Max CPU coole
Corsair 800D case

My theory is you have some bent socket pins or the CPU cooler is torqued down incorrectly.
