MSI 865PE Neo-L high temp readings?

Hello..
When my system is off for a couple of hours and then i boot up my system,and go directly into the bios,my CPU temperature is already 40-45C° !!! :O
And even my cooling block isn't hot then(not even warm).
Also in windows with the MSI software i get those high temperature readings.
Only with speedfan,the temperatures are more normal.
Is this a know issue that MSI boards have high temperature readings ?(
CPU is a P4 2.6Ghz FSB800
(system is not overclocked)

My system specs :
MSI 865PE NEO-L (duh :D )
P4c 2.6Ghz FSB800 with boxed cooler.
Maxtor 30GB 7200RPM
2x256 DDR400 ram
GF4 TI4200 64mb
Q-tec 400W dual fan.
DVD drive (lite-on 16xdvd ,52cd-rom)
CDRW drive(lite-on 52-32-52)
As said,with corecenter or other MSI software almost directly 45C° Even the heatsink is not warm then.
(stressed 58-60C°)
Speedfan gives me more then one temp..
HD0 : 23C° this should be the harddisk temp i think.
Temp1 : 29C° this should be the system temm or case temp.
Temp 2 : 42C° this should be the CPU temp.
All these readings are IDLE temps.
And i think those are the wright temps...

MSI 865PE Neo 3-F + Intel P4 640

Hello,
I have a problem with a MSI 865PE Neo 3-F motherboard combined with an Intel 640 cpu.
I cannot install Windows XP SP2, everytime at 35 minutes remaining, the computer resets itself.
First I had bios v5.0, and couldn't flash to v5.2, after using a Intel 520 cpu I could flash to v5.2, but the problem remains.
Tried several ram-modules, hdd, vga-cards, psu's, ...
Anyone know if there is a solution for this ? Maybe a new bios-version or beta-bios ?

Two things you could test;
Run memtest86 for any mem.errors ( you can do this by creatings a DOS disc and boot from floppy )

Not sure about the 410w chieftec - Is that a ATX2.0 PSU with 24pin connector ? ( 12v1 =15amp + 12v2=18 amps)
Do you use a 24-20 pin adapter ?
If I´m correct, your MoBo still got the 20-pin MoBo + 4-pin cpu powerconnector, and too be sure about the power issue, I would have prefered a PSU with some 450w and a singel 12v line with minimum 22 amps on the 12v line. The newer P4/ Prescott cpu´s needs a lot of 12v power.- Be sure that both 20pin and 4pin are firmly in place on the MoBo.
Most highly recommended PSU´s are Enermax, Antec, Tagan, OCZ, but there are others as well as long as you avoid the cheap ones -
PS - about mem.voltage it would be 2.7v not 1.7v as you wrote, but assume this was only a typingfault.

I want to buy 1GB of ram for motherboard MSI 865PE NEO 2-V I need help with finding correct parts.
I also want to buy 512Mb or 1GB graphics card.
as i said before i need help with finding correct ones so they match motherboard, I would appreciate if any one would post link to cheap and fitting parts.
I found graphics card allready, i just need to know if it will fit.

Franknputer is right.
All systems that I build for my gamers runs in Dual Channel and the combo is 1 + 3 or 2 + 4 or 1 + 2 + 3 + 4. 1 x RAM in Channel A and 1 x RAM in Channel B minimum will give your Dual Channel Linear Mode message during startup and you know that you are running Dual Channel.
Next, it is always recommended to have the same make and model and capacity of the RAMs if you want to run in Dual Channel.

MSI 865pe neo 2 - BOOT FAILURE PROBLEM

i have a msi 865pe neo 2 motherboard and im getting the following problem, when i turn on my pc it is coming up with boot failure message and ask me to restart my computer it goes through this a lot then all of a sudden it works fine , when this problem happens and i go into cmos settings i notice that it is not reconising my IDE hard drive PLEASE PLEASE can someone help me with this and tell me what the cause is and how to fix it.

MSI 865PE neo-2p, d bracket, code not in book

well suddenly my MSI 865PE neo-2p is not working, no beeps, no screen tuning on, and the d bracket2 is all wierd
lights 1 and 2 are going red and green like a schoolbus
lights 3 and 4 are red
board is out of case (on a wooden piece of wood) and the problem still percists
i have everything but the d bracket and power wires going to the board disconected
i also tried a diff PSU, no change

What I'd do is to strip off the system completely and only put CPU, and then RAM, and then display.... one by one, and see how far the system goes.
Try this
1. board + CPU --> 3 long beeps, indicating no RAM --> your CPU is fine.
2. board + CPU + RAM -> 8 long and short beeps, indicating no display, --> your RAM is fine.
3. board + CPU + RAM + display card --> see the POST screen --> everything is OK.
4. add in HDD --> detected in the BIOS --> everything is OK.
5. add everything else --> detected in BIOS --> everything is OK. Continue boot to Winblows. See anything missing.
If you can't even get out of 1, 2, or 3. Try clear CMOS.

MSI 865PE Neo Series Restart Problem

Hello,
I have a problem on my MSI 865PE Neo Series Mobo when i restart my system using windows or by pressing ctrl+alt+del my pc won't restart and stay there forever on a black screen but when i press my reset button it will restart normally this is my one and only problem regarding this mobo... pls any help here. fix or any tips and suggestions...
(*by the way this is just my friends computer and im the one who builds it and maintain it...)

no guyz im using Windows XP Pro SP1 and its not a OS problem because the first time i boot the system i have no OS yet and then i press ctrl+alt+del then my system wont restart at all even in windows ive updated all drivers and mobo bios and increasing DDR Voltage to 2.8v and disabling HT has no changed at all any help would be appreciated... i think this is some problem with MSI mobo power management that it can't match ur psu so well unlike ASUS and GIGABYTE mobo runs perfectly fine. by the way its not my pc its my friend's pc and im the one who builds and hope to fix this one and only problem... everything else is ok except for the Restart Problem!!!!

MSI GT683 DXR CPU high temps

I have this wounderful gaming laptop for 2 months but I have some problem with CPU. Few days ago I was plaing BFH and suddenly my computer started to low GPU usage and shuted off like u will hold shut down button. When I started again I hadn't screen about wrong shuting down(safe mode etc.). Now when I play BFH my CPU temp, like ThrottleStop, OCCT, CPUID Hardware Monitor shows, comes up to 97 degree, 80-85 awerage. When it comes to 90 Cooler starts to work on his highs to lower temp to 80-85 than again works normally. When I start on Cooler Boost technology CPU temp is about 70. My question: are these temp good or to high. I think this is gaming laptop and it shouldn't have any problems with BFH. Should I turn on all the time Cooler Boost ?
Of course when it comes to high temp I notice performance decrease. Normally I have 100 FPS but it lowers to 70 or even to 35.

No overclock! Don't be too surprised by the fact that 1333 is less than 1600. So what you should do is set the memory speed down. Down to something your AMD processor likes. Strictly speaking, running at 1600 should only be done after a heavy processor overclock.

MSI 865PE Neo 2 & SLK900U

Hello , i have all ready the SLK900U cooler,and i have just order the MSI 865PE Neo2 LS .
Does the SLK900 fit in this board with out nags or problems , and i am talking about the capasitors and the coils ,that is next to the CPU socket ..

MSI P67A-C45 (B3) high temp. issue

Hello ,this is my first post here.
Just upgraded from giga h61 to MSI P67A C45 (B3).Hwmonitor and aida64 shows temp1 as high as 110C while gaming,(I think other temps are fine:temp0 cpu:55C max. and temp2 system 40C max.)I never had this issue before with my old mobo,any ideas-solutions greatly welcomed.

K8 Neo Platinum High Temps lock ups.

Ok, just got this board and processor, I flashed the bios, and still my temps are 60c at idle and 76c at load. When it hits 76 my computer freezes for 8 secs, then resumes for a few min. then freezes again. I have the 3200 newcastle, 6800gt, 1 gig of ram.
Someone help me before I send this board back. Also, I put the vantec iceberg on the NB and hooked the fan to the NB_Fan and it doesnt show the temp or fan speed in core center.
It will even freeze in the middle of 3dmark01 then resume.

Reach inside the case and touch the HS with your fingers. At &&c you would feel it is very hot. If not then it is the usually problem that the temp is not being read right. Newcastles are known for this as they changed the sensor diode inside the CPU and the MB is not reading the temps correctly now.

I'm sorry but we do not distribute beta BIOSes, with exception though. Usually when particular user has problem and we feedback to MSI, once MSI tell us to give him/her a try on the beta BIOS, there we will send the beta BIOS to him/her. Other than that, we don't. We are a bit conservative on this. 8)
Anyway, we don't stop users using beta BIOS, provided they know the risks and voiding warranty. As you see when users claim he/she has the beta BIOS and willing to distribute, we won't block or remove the threads unless being told by MSI, but MSI never do that.
I'm quite sure some users already have hand with 1.44B BIOS. Probably you can approach them. :D
