MSI 880 GMA-45 Windows installation issues
Just built a system around the aforementioned motherboard.Other components include :
CPU : Phenom II X4 955
RAM : Corsair XMS3 , 2X2GB , 1333 ( Corsair's site states they're compatible with all Amd and Intel platforms)
VGA : Twintech GTX 550 Ti
PSU : Corsair Gaming GS 600
The issue : While the system seems to boot up fine, i couldn't install any operating system , from XP up to 7 .As soon as it would boot up from the installation cd, it'd either throw a blue screen with the irq less or equal error message, or a black screen with the letter "H" in a straight column (weird as it may sound, that's what i got). Moreover , it wouldn't boot up to the previous window installation.
After trying this and that, i swapped out the 550Ti with my older 8400 GS ; same issues.Tried the same without any gfx card on, it would boot from the previous installation, and proceed to windows install .
Is there a setting in my BIOS i am unaware of, or do i have to RMA the board ?
Thanks in advance
Indeed it was a faulty memory stick, ran memtest which came up with errors, swapped one stick out and everything went back to normal. Thanks for your aid

Windows 2008 r2 windows installer issue error 1719 when install Backup exec 12.5
Hi all
After a epic weekend of rebuilding our exchange server I have tried to reinstall Backup exec 12.5 64bit, this was installed with no issues during the last build, however at the end of this build I went to reinstall Backup Exec 12.5 and it is failing with
error 1719 Windows installer issue.
I have looked on many sites and tried many things non of them have worked, has anyone managed to resolve this issue.

DJH -
Just bought a new ipod touch for my daughter. It won't sync without itunes 10.5.2 loaded on our computer (a 2005 HP with Windows XP and service pack 2.) When I've tried to load 10.5.2, I get an error message box stating there is a problem with my Windows installer. I've tried loading the windows installer hot fix KB942288-v3-x86, but it didn't help. Any suggestion?
Hi Lorheak,
thanks for the quick reply. I had the same idea already yesterday. I use Norton Internet Security for a long time now without any problems. I think this a Apple or Microsoft problem, because the popup window which appear come from Windows DEP. I got no message from the firewall with any problem. I check the log files from Norton and Windows already but find nothing. This is a very strange problem. In the past I have had a lot of other problems with iTunes upgrades. Everytime I accept the installation of the newest version I got errors regarding missing "msi" files.

"windows installer" issue while running Cap 2
Hi folks,
just re-installed Captivate 2 on a fresh Win XP (SP2) system.
Now everytime I start Captivate and even load a project, first
comes the windows installer telling me "please wait while Windows
configures Captivate 2" -- it does do "domething" and later opens
Cap 2 respectively a loaded project, but why ? I didn´t have
these issues before, does anyone know what´s up ?Hi Gunter. I've seen this happen with other applications but
not with Captivate. The problem was that Windows had "confused" the
path to the executable file from a desktop shortcut. Try using
Windows navigator to go directly to the main folder ...
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2\
... and double-click directly on "AdobeCaptivate.EXE" to see
if that opens Captivate without the installer being kicked in.
If it works correctly that way, just right-click the EXE and
create a new shortcut to replace the bad one(s).
Let us know if this helps, and have a great day!!

Windows installer could not finish due to blue screen error
And you must specify exactly what that blue screen error is to enable anyone to have a clue as to what might be causing the error. There are hundreds of error codes and messages designed to assist in identifying the problem. Without that specific error
code number and/or message it is virtually impossible to even begin trying to identify the possible source of the problem!

Bonjour for Windows installation issue
When running the installer/setup application for Bonjour for Windows on my PC laptop, the installer quits and gives me the error message: "Explorerplugin.dll failed to register."
How do I resolve this problem?I'm having a very frustrating experience installing Bonjour. It seems to start the installation fine and then it stops and say it was interrupted. It gets to the point where it is Publishing Product Information and quits.
good gracious. i'm most familiar with that one from older versions of iTunes and QuickTime installers that were based on InstallShield technology ...
is the Bonjour Installer InstallShield-based? if so, perhaps try checking through the following document:
iTunes for Windows installation quits with 1607 error, while publishing product information, or is interrupted
(on the whole, this is much easier to deal with on XP Pro, rather than Home, if it is what is afoot.) -
Itunes 10.7 windows installation issue
I am having trouble updating my itunes to 10.7. I have windows 7 and have all thesystem requirements to install/use 10.7 but I keep having an error message appearing meaning I cannot install it. Anyone else having similar issues/help me resolve this?
Thanks! Are you running Kaspersky security software on that PC? (There's been a few reports in recent times of Kaspersky interfering with iTunes installs, with that message being produced.)
If there is Kaspersky on board, we should try some general-principles getting-past-security-software-interference troubleshooting.
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (32-bit installer file) or iTunes64Setup.exe to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the install just yet.)
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Any better luck with the security software shut down? -
Oracle 11g R2 Windows Installation issue
Hey everybody,
i was trying to install Oracle 11g R2 on a Windows Server 2008 64-bit machine. During the installation i am getting an error message multiple times (about 20 times) where it says it cannot find certain files like C:\app\ora11g\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oc4j\j2ee\oc4j_applications\WFMLRSVCApp.ear and some other files too. If i click move on in the dialog box each time an error occurs the installation will succeed and finish successfully.
What am I doing wrong, do I have to change anything before installation starts?
I am using the correct 64-bit installation files i downloaded from the Oracle homepage...

Hi Hans,
know I found where it contains the information about the downloads. It only shows up when you click on the "See All", but it won´t show up if you directly download via the Disk 1 or Disk 2 link on the download page. Good point. I never would have believed noobs would stop at that page and not be curious about what other stuff might be available under 'See All'. Stuff like the 'De-install' package.
Since you didn't do it, I posted a comment/suggestion in the Download forum to put an additional note on the top 11gR2 download page.
What brings up more confusion is when you click on the "See All" button next to the download for the 32-bit Version of 11g R2 for Windows an error comes up. Worked for me.
You reported your error ... where?
So I think Oracle needs to improve its homepage a lot...If you have ideas there is a forum "Forum Home » Technology Network Community » Community Feedback and Suggestions" in which you you are welcome to submit comments. -
MSI P55-GD65 and windows xp issues
Hello,
Windows XP SP1 fails to detect Dual Lans.
Windows XP SP2 manages to detect Dual Lans but takes 2 - 3 minutes before it can initialize them. Till than, I can't use internet.
Also, I could not disable IEEE 1334 connection on Windows XP SP2.
I experienced these issues without anti-virus.
What are the causes of these issues?Yes I did. It did not helped though.
However, I noticed that my FDD was not properly connected. And I fixed it. Don't know if this issue was somehow related.
I now have installed Vista Ultimate and things work perfect. No delays or anything on LAN connectivity.
Though, if I experience any issues than I would let you know.
Thanks. -
CS Premium for Windows installation issue [Education version]
Greetings! I just ran the Installer 1 CD, and discovered the Installer 2 CD is cracked. The remaining three CDs look fine. What are my options for continuing the installation process?
Thanks in advance! Thanks for the quick response. It really is CS (from Sep 2003). I bought it when I was a full time graphic designer, but I've spent the last 6+ years in Banking/Finance. I want to get back into creative (oh how I've missed it!), but need to refresh my skills and update my portfolio.
Can/should I install the Resources and Extras (Disks 1 & 2) and/or Video Workshop Training and Resources CD without the Installer 2 CD content (Acrobat, GoLive, and InDesign)? -
Cannot install iTunes due to error. Have tried this on 2 laptops now, WindowsXP and Windows7 to no avail, times out with errors on both.
Please advise!
- BMWDawgI found numerous fixes for this error from the community, thank you. After copying the iTunes.msi file over into \WINDOWS\Installer, I then got the "Yahoo.rtf error saying that it could not find the iTunes.cab file.....this is getting stupid, seriously, I would have thought that Apple had figured all of this out in their install package, especially with a Windows XP OS!!

Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue
Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct. 4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
Use source:
c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 64-bit Installer Info
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 4.2 64-bit cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group
I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating. Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info: Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare! Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well. No other apps are running during the install.)
Message was edited by: marzo19untill now, 3 phones later, and mayby 10 attemps later to install it: notting. the errors that i am gething are the same as above, but nothing helps for me.
even the microsoft fixid diden't help.
So also desperate. -
iTunes has tried to update itself and runs into an error and tells me to manually install. When I d/l and run the iTunesSetup.exe file I always encounter the following error message...
"A network error occured while attempting to read from the file C;|Windows|Installer|iTunes.msi" and iTunes does not update to iTunes 10.4.1.
Anyone know what is creating this error message? Thanks for the help...(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
