MSI 915 + MSI NX7600GT

Hey ..everyone
System Specs:
MOBO: MSI 915 G Combo
CPU  : Intel 2.8 GHz HT
RAM  : 512x1 DDR1
GPU  : MSI NX 7600 GT
HDD : Maxtor 200 GB ATA
I bought the GPU, in illusion that it might make my PC, work faster.. like it could take the Graphics load from the CPU -> GPU, and that could significantly improve the performance .. NOW, the thing is .. games on my PC run faster enough, I'm happy with that. But my system is bit slow, may be because of adding 7600 Card, the drivers may be consuming resources...!!
Is there a way to like increase the performance of my system.. using the available resources ??
I also want to upgrade my PC to 1 GB DDR2 RAM , will be going for that Next week probably .. I wanted to know
1) What is the MAX Clock speed for RAM, that is compatible with my MOBO ??
2) Should I go for 512x2 MB Modules or 1x1 GB Module ?? Which is faster ?
3) Crosshair or Kingston .. I want a cheaper one :D
thanks in advance..!!

hello,
yep 512MB is very low for modern PC, especially for gaming machine also its in single CH..
get 2x1GB or 2x512MB matched memory sticks(Kit), DDR1 or DDR2 type. (but not mixed)

  • MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ mobos combatibility list

    Hello guys!
Can anyone help me with which mobos the MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ is compatible?
I have tried several mobos but I had ''no video input'' at my monitor.
I thought that this was a problem of the VGA and I sent it back to the manufacturer. They informed me that there is no problem with the card and that there is a compatibility list with the mobos i can use my VGA.
I CANNOT FIND THAT LIST ANYWHERE
    I will appreciate any help..
    Thanx in advance!

    Hello, welcome to forum.
can you provide full system specification with PSU brand and details as well(can be found into PSU sticker) read Moan Guide
VGA should work at any decent board which has PCI-E slot.
can be PSU failure, can be monitor problem, or cable related. do you use DVI converter? ensure its plugged well. use 1st DVI VGA output.

  • MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ - artifacts, crashing

    Hi
I bought MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ about a week ago. My problem is that after a short while when playing games I get artifacts and finally the game crashes. It has gone worse day by day and now it crashes almost instantly - sometimes even while at desktop so I have had to use integrated grapchics card for a few days now.
My system runs pretty cool at MB temperatures of 32c and 36c. CPU is running at 45c
    My system specs are following:
VGA: MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ (I have tried few drivers from Nvidia, including the latest forceware)
Motherboard: Asustek P5LD2-VM SE - Bios version 0302
Power Supply: Antec HE 430 power supply (http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/neohe/specs.jpg)
    Memory: Corsair TWIN2X1024A-6400
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
    DVD-RW: Samsung SH-S182M/BEBN
    HDD: Hitachi 320GB SATA
    Operating system: Windows XP SP2
    Mouse: Logitech G7
    Keyboard: Standard ps2

I think that my system is actually running cooler with the case closed rather than case open since it has few case fans to circulate air inside.
I opened the case and the artifacts appeared just as quickly as case open. Then I added additional 80mm fan to blow straight to VGA card. It pushes temperatures down little bit but the card still starts artifacting when it reaches around 62 celcius. With fan blowing straight to VGA card system stays up for around few minutes instead of few seconds without the fan.
I couldnt find any options for overclocking from NVIDIAS control panel.
well seems to be overheating problem. if the frequncy was the same and results are different(few seconds artefacts comes before, with active cooling and open case after few minutes) seems VGA going overheat... but hmm 62C isnt so hot...
"I couldnt find any options for overclocking from NVIDIAS control panel."
use the same program Ati Tool to change VGA GPU and memory frequncy. (3D Clock speed, and memory)
suggest you to take VGA out of case and to look it carefully. ensure heatstick making good contact with the core(you can re-apply termanl paste).
other suspcicinal is not making good contact with RAM chips. you can pull carefuly heatstick to VGA RAM chips also.
if doesnt help, basicly at this condition you can RMA it. or to change entire VGA cooling system(will lost warrantly) with somethink that gona do job.
but that VGA is designed to work with that passive cooler and if was alrite that problem should not exist.

  • Difference between MSI NX7600GT-VT2D256E and E-HD?

    Hi all,
Once again, I believe I'm going with a new vid card from MSI. I already have one in my machine, and like it very much. This is for a B-day present, and am looking to purchase within the next couple hours if possible.
Basically, I'm just looking to find out what's the difference between the MSI NX7600GT-VT2D256E and the E-HD. Does that mean the "HD" handles hi def or something? The only difference I know of so far is that the E seems to be slightly more expensive than the HD.
Looking to find this out as quickly as possible. Thanks in advance.

HDCP encrypts the data transmitted between the DVI/HDMI connector on the graphics adapter and the display. • MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ speed and temp problems?

Hi, I'd like to buy a MSI NX7600GT-T2D256EZ but after reading this comparison in Madshrimps i'm confused:
    http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&number=12&artpage=1958&articID=460
At the time of this comparison, there was a problem with speed and temperature as you can read in the article. I'd like to know if this problem has been already solved, because i didn't found any new info following this article.
Could someone help me? I really like this card since there is no fan, but wouldn't like to find problems.
    Thanks a lot.

Well the Link works but the described issue would only happen if gpu is overheating (as Aaron said). This is automatic core slow down and happens with any GeForce FX/6/7/8 vga when reaching the critical temp. Of course a passive cooled vga reaches higher temps than a vga of the same kind with active cooling. So good airflow inside the case is crucial to keep the temps down. With just an ordinary airflow (two casefans) the 7600GT-EZ never reaches critical temp.
The article you linked to also describes that the NX7600GT-T2D256EZ wrongly reports too high temps. This issue is unknown, I build a system with this vga sometime ago and it never reported wrong temps.

Hello together, this is a call from germany ... in hope to find briefly the right help in the world.
    I´d a Problem that the RAID 5 won´t work stable ...
Sporadic one of the 3 disks disconnect, when I copy large files ~4-8GB on the RAID, or when I try to generate one there.
It sounds like the former Problems with the Promise SX-6000 RAID Controller, but this failure will fixed after an BIOS update.

    Questions:
    - Does anyone have a working RAID5 running, with BIOS v1.3 (or v1.2)?
    - Is the raid controler firmware included in the mainboard Bios?
    - Why have my board the Bios version 1.3, but in the download section is only v1.2 listet?
    With easily enervated  greetings

    @ bosamar
Sorry for the late replay ... to less time.
Today I´ve downgrade the BIOS to the v1.2
There was one "mystic" Error ... the system didn´t boot, when all 4 RAM modules (Bank 1-4) installed.
After I´d disconnect the modules from bank 2 and 4 the system boot.
I do my settings in the BIOS and add the modules again ... and it works again.
(I´d testet the RAM modules with an tool ... they are error free).
... After that changing I´ve load the Bios default settings
May be there is a timing problem with the Chipset or RAM stettings ??

  • MSI P965 - what they do with my friend?

I am soory but I am MSI user many years and now I am wery disapointed with tis mobo, it is realy sux, nothing works like it must, network problems, dual core status in device manager problem, boot problem, I don't know what in the future, three of us bought this mobo and just one works so so, two friends bought Gigabyt, they have no problem at all 6300 2,13 works on 3,4 without any special cooling, mybe new bios help us to be happy with MSI mobo like in the past.
With my mobo I have problem with network sometimes I can go to surf sometimes I can't I must refresh network driver, restart and work, many times also don't work, and I must tell you that I have pretty much expireances with all operating sistems, just with english I have problems.
    Have nice time!
    Scenic ???

Ok, I work in a store which sell MSI product and I am also MSI fun until I bought this mobo P965. I have MSI NX7600GT VGA card and Core2 6400 cpu, Vhen I instal OS Win XP Pro the system works terible slow, I can work just with one aplication otherwise system hangs. I solved this problem after a few days working, also with this forum helps, and solved problem with CPU, the system works good now, but I have all the time problem with ethernet, if I turn comp on and try to go to internet I can't until I restart ethernet driver, but not one or two times, many times, 4 or 5 times turn of, restart etc... When I get conection works good! My son also has the same problem with cpu at the begining, but his mobo works with ethernet normal, who knovs where the problem is...
Today my coworker bought tis mobo and he has much more problems, he can't get two core in system manager, even that he flash bios from 1,3 (original) to 1,4 and finaly 1,5 the problem is stil here, he instal also hotfix for dual cor cpu and nothing chaneced, I must also tell you that he instal OS after first bios flash and also after 1,5 version bios flash and in system manager is one cpu or core.
I am Intel cpu and chipset fun until 1995 last year I have P4 Diamond mobo with Nvidia chipset, a few days ago I change MSI 945 Platinium and  P4 940 for P965 and E6400 and I have a lot of problem, never before with Intel's chipset, I think that MSI make a big mistake with this mobo at all.
When other coworkers, two of them, saw our problems they went to other store and takes Gigabyte mobo, and they dont't have any problems at all.
I must also tell you that I am not owerlockers, I am also good in OS and drivers instalation, so I'like that my system works good, without that kind of I say, basic problems....
Tomorrow I will take other mobo and I will see what will happend with cpu and ethernet.
    Best regards,
    Scenic
    sorry about my english

  • NX7600GT Fan Noise

    Hi Guys,
I've owned an Nvidia 7600GT for a few months now. I have started to notice a pretty annoying problem with the fan: It's way too loud. Not only that, it switches from loud to a silent mode and back again in an erratic fashion. Very very annoying.
At first I thought the fan was going to break down, but if I run any 3D game the fan just simply runs at full speed (and noise level) as it probably should. No random interruptions.
I feel that the card should definitely not be taxed very much when I am just running windows. The NVidia driver panel says the GPU runs at 48°C, which doesn't sound very hot.
Any ideas what the problem could be and hwo to fix it?
    # CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dualcore 3800+ (2.0Ghz, 2×512KB Cache)
    # Mainboard: Asus AN8-SLI Premium
    # Graphics Card: MSI NX7600GT 256MB 2xDVI/HDTV
My driver is nvidia original 91.47, but the problem has existed for a few weeks at least (I am not sure when it started). Note that before that time, it was very hot here during the summer, so the fan probably simply ran on a higher level constantly.
Anyway, as I said, any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    - Nils

I did of course try the rivatuner (which makes exactly NO difference, no matter what I set for the fan speed).
The erratic switching from loud to silent happens regardless of whether I am switching any software. In fact, I can deactivate my screen via the Windows power settings, and I still have the same symptoms.
The only thing that seems to actually make a difference is to launch a game, after which the fan will run at full (?) speed. Which, of course, isn't exactly the kind of solution I had in mind.
Thanks for your reply, but I fear it won't help me much
    Best wishes,
    - Nils

  • NX7600GT-TD512 with GA-K8NS-Ultra-939

    Hi all,
I have bought a MSI NX7600GT-TD512 and use a Gigabyte GA-K8NS-Ultra-939 Mainboard with 2 GB RAM from Corsair and an AMD +3500 64 CPU. My nightmare started with the new graphic card. Before I had a 6800 Nvidia one. The computer was freezing after the change. No problems because I wanted to try out Windows Vista.
So I bought a new harddisk (they are cheap enough) and installed Vista. No problems other that my computer isn't powerfull enough to run some 3D intensive games under Vista with the same performance (and no Audigy 2 drivers which are running well).
So I backuped the important stuff of my old harddisk, reformated and reinstalled Windows XP SP2 with all MS security patches and Nvidia 5.11 chipset drivers + latest official Nvidia forceware drivers. But the computer was freezing while browsing or during simple tasks in Windows XP. Same happens in Games too. Sometimes it's very fast, sometimes it needs it time. Strange enough Vista is running without these problems.
I reinstalled Windows XP (formated the partition) and installed the 5.10 chipset drivers and the recommended MSI forceware drivers. No real change. I talked to Gigabyte but all is ok. Firmware (F10), no known incompatibilty.
I checked the internet for another bios/used Live Update but no Bios/Firmware update for this card.
I'm lost  Only difference between Vista and XP is the way how the drivers communicate with Windows and the graphic card.
    Help

I just got the NX7600GT-TD512Z (heat pipe cooling) today and I have the exact same motherboard. I am getting frustrated since I have the exact same problem as you describe. I noticed that it freezes when I try to start a 3D game or when I visit websites with flash. I have tried installing the drivers that came with the card and also the newest ones from nividia website, but no go. I have also done 2 fresh installs of Windows XP but nothing fixes it. I tried disbeling AGP fast write in the motherboard BIOS, also no difference.
I have nearly brand new PSU (Antec NeoHE 430W) and everything worked fine yesterday with my old Gigabyte 6600GT.
Does anyone with the same problem have a fix for this? If not, have anyone had any success getting a return from MSI?
    Fred

  • Problems with NX7600GT

Will really appreciate any help on this--I'm not sure if I bought a lemon or my new MSI NX7600GT just isn't compatible with my motherboard.
Before buying this card I bought an ECS card with the same Nvidia chipset, but decided to replace it since it had slow DDR3 memory (500mhz). I got a relatively OK deal for the MSI with the standard 700mhz memory clock.
When I installed the MSI card, I started having stability problems and my display kept turning black. Note that I did not encounter any problems with the ECS 7600GT card or my original Inno3D FX5200.
    Here is my current setup:
    Athlon 64 3000+
    ASROCK 939Dual-SATA2
    SATA Western Digital hard drive
    IDE DVD Writer
2x512 Dual Channel Kingston Value RAM
    Huntkey 400-Watt PS (14A and 15A 12-v rails)
    Power Supply?
The Huntkey is brand new, and I have experienced the same problems using a different PS, so I don't think I have power supply problems. Also, I think it's good to note that I encounter problems even before I boot to Windows--before the GPU starts sucking power from my 12-volt rails.
Here is a bulleted list of the symptoms:
    - pre-Windows/Windows instability (even in BIOS)
    - shaky display
    - screen turns black once in a while
    - motherboard fails to detect SATA drive
    Any ideas?

Whew! I just resolved this issue. I had to bring my box to the shop where I bought the card, after they found that the card worked perfectly with other computers with varied configurations. They hooked my box up to their monitor and, guess what, everything was smooth and pretty. I even played a few 3D games without hitches.
I went back home to grab my monitor. We've tested everything and it was the only possible cause at this point. Thank god those LCD monitors are light--I have to walk at least 10 minutes to the nearest taxi stop. Anyway, after all the hassle, I found out that the culprit was my VGA cable. I was going to switch to DVI, but I told myself not to switch cables until I fix the problem. A new $1 VGA cable fixed everything.
    The moral lesson:
Check the cheap, simple solutions first and keep spares of the cheap stuff, like cables, handy. =)

  • K9N Platinum HT error

When I recently switched on my computer a BIOS gave me this message:
A Hyper Transport sync flood occured on last boot.
    Press F1 to Resume
It sounds a little .. terrifying and i really don't like the world flood.
    I have:

    MSI NX7600GT T2D256EZ
    Enermax Liberty 500W powersource
It's not first time i have problem with my comp. My comp suffered from random freezes in any OS (ubuntu, opensuse, etc...) and even without OS like in POST or boot device choosing page. I runned memtest and found out that my DDR2 had been broken. Now i've got new RAMs and memtest shows no errors but freezes haven't stopped. And now this ugly message from BIOS. What does it matter? It looks like mobo fatal error.

  • PrPro 5.5 and nVidia GeForce 7600 GT - do they get along..?

This question should probably be directed to nVidia, but since I know that this forum is used by some very talented people, my hopes are that there's one out there that can help..:
After installing Premiere Pro 5.5, using 2 x nVidia GeForce 7600 GT GPUs, I've experienced multiple BSOD's while exporting HD footage from PP 5.5 through Adobe Media Encoder 5.5. Furthermore I've experienced several occations of my screens going black for a second, followed by a "Your GPU driver stopped working and was restarted" Windows message.
I suspected the problems to be related to the co-relation between PP 5.5 and my GPUs (the "driver stopped"-thing almost for certain) and by checking the Adobe GPU compliance list and not finding my GPU there, my suspicion was enhanced.
However, on its driver download site nVidia states that the latest driver 275.33 "Supports the new GPU-accelerated features in Adobe CS5". This statement is not limited to certain versions of GeForce GPU's, so I have to assume that it counts for the 7600 family as well.
So my questions are as follows:
    • Am I right in assuming that my BSOD problems can be related to the GPU?
    • If so: Keeping in mind that nVidia states that the 275.33 driver supports Adobe CS5's GUP accelerated features, is there any way around forging out a fortune on a new GPU to make things work as intended..?
    My set-up:
    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+ 2200 Mhz • Motherboard: M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition • RAM: 4 GB Kingston HyperX pc3200 • GPU: 2 x MSI NX7600GT Diamond Plus (Sli) • Harddisks: 4 x Hitachi SATA, total of 1360 GB • OS: Win 7, 64 bit

    Arne,
Don't feel so bad about this. You're not alone in experiencing such indifferent support. AMD, the owner of ATi, is even rougher than Nvidia when it comes to support of older GPUs: AMD has ceased further driver releases for all of its GPUs older than the HD 2xxx series except for critical compatibility fixes (the so-called "legacy support" status), beginning with the Catalyst 9.4 drivers (which pre-date the release of Windows 7).
By the way, if you don't perform any tweaking or hacking (software-wise), the only Nvidia GPUs that are certified to run in GPU-accelerated mode in CS5.5 are:
    GeForce GTX 285
    GeForce GTX 470
    GeForce GTX 570
    GeForce GTX 580
    Quadro FX 3700M
    Quadro FX 3800
    Quadro FX 3800M
    Quadro FX 4800
    Quadro FX 5800
    Quadro 2000
    Quadro 2000D
    Quadro 2000M
    Quadro 3000M
    Quadro 4000
    Quadro 4000M
    Quadro 5000
    Quadro 5000M
    Quadro 5010M
    Quadro 6000
    Quadro CX
The other GeForce GPUs of the GeForce 8xxx or later series with 896MB or more RAM can be made to work in the GPU-accelerated mode in CS5.5 by modifying the cuda_supported_cards.txt file. Your 7600 GT will not work at all in that mode because not only the card has too little RAM, but is also too old.
    Hope this helps.

  • 7600GT No Digital Output

I have two Viewsonic Vx20225wm monitors connected each to a 7600GT.  Recently my Video Cards switched over to outputting only a analog signal to both of my monitors, instead of a digital picture.  In My Taskbar where it lists my monitiors it says Monitor 1 (analog) Monitor 2 (analog). I have not been able to get the cards to recognize my monitors digital inputs and have had to resort to using analog converter to get a analog monitor to work.

Have you uninstalled the Vid drivers or did you just install over them? What OS are you running?
If you are running XP, I want you to download DriverCleaner Pro and install it.  Next, download the video drivers you need(unless you already have them). Disconnect from the internet(turn off modem or remove the lan or USB cable you use to connect).  Disable your Antivirus.  Now, uninstall the video drivers, reboot and hit F8 to go into safe mode.  Run DriverCleaner Pro and remove the nVidia junk for the video drivers...be careful in your choice so you don't remove the nvidia chipset.  Reboot and if XP tries to load vid drivers, hit cancel--you'll be on VGA drivers.  Install the forceware drivers.

Which card has better performance? Both have 256Mb and the price is the same. Can anybody tell me if should I choose ATi or nVidia honestly?
Please I need to know it today, because tomorrow I must tell to the seller.
