MSI 915GM4 Motherboard and a P4 s775 2.66/1M/533 Processor - Dont Work

Hello Everyone,
I bought an MSI 915GM4 Motherboard and a P4 s775 2.66/1M/533 Processor yesterday and
assembled it by myself. But when I power it on, it won't display anything nor you can any hear beeping sounds.
So I tried to pull it out from the case to test only the Processor, Motherboard, PowerSupply, Memory and Monitor, but still It won't display nor you can hear beeping sounds that would indicate the cause of the problem.
Later then, I contacted a friend of mine who has a Celeron D s775 Processor and tried it on my MSI Motherboard. Its only the processor that was swapped and nothing else. Guess what? It displays and even loads to windows. So I was started thinking that my own processor might be the problem. But I did not conclude right away that the
processor is the problem and so what I did is I borrowed an Asrock Motherboard (s775)
from the same friend. Now, if this will not work then its confirm that my processor
might be the problem. But I was surprised when it work and still boot up to windows.
Confusion wraps my mind, the next time I started thinking about compatibility issues
and so I visited MSI site looking for CPU Support of my Motherboard and found out that
it should support. Well, to try to resolve this issues I tried flashing the bios for
the motherboard of its latest version updates, but sitll no luck..
Hmmmm.... what could be it? Did I miss something?
Well guys if you could help me on this I really appreciate it.. I don't really know now what move to take.
If anyone has an idea please email me at [email protected]
Thanks in advance...

    The Crew - Launch Trailer
    PC configuration:
    CPU: Intel i5-4670K
    RAM: Avexir DDR3-1600 8G*2
    VGA: MSI GTX960 GAMING 2G
SSD: Kingston HyberX 3K SSD 240G
    CPU Cooler: SilverStone AR01

Overview of the motherboard: Black and Red color scheme, it’s also the favorite color combination from MSI’s user reservation.
The PCI-E slots and bandwidth are enough for a two-way SLI setting.
Killer Ethernet, outstanding performance on internet access, especially reduce the lag issue.
The new arrival MSI GTX960 GAMING 2G graphics card
    New cooling design: ZeroFrozr

With MSI Gaming series motherboard plus graphics card, you can enable a Gaming App to overclock CPU and GPU. There are 3 modes to choose.
6-month free trail of the XSplit game caster software, free bundled with MSI gaming motherboard and graphics card
Done with assembling, quiet nice color combination and clean cable arrangement.
An overview of the very gaming look system.
Some benchmark results before racing with The Crew.
CPU and GPU info on CPU-Z and GPU-Z applications:
    3DMark Fire Strike score: 6441
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score: 3384
    3DMark Fire Strike Ultra score:1262
The excel performance proof the brand new 960 graphics card comes with good a high Cost/Performance Value.
Now, check out this test benchmark score of the renowned game “The Crew”.
The game presents an ultra-quality display, 60 Frames Per Second (FPS)
    FPS: Average frames is at:
    Frames: 3859 - Time: 76828ms - Avg: 50.229 - Min: 43 - Max: 56
The comments of the game for your reference:
There are many types of missions that can be chosen from the America’s map.
Street racing, high-speed collision, breakaway from police, sky jumps, zigzagging, etc… make the game quite dynamic.
Now, when it comes to multi-player matches, the performance has exceeded expectations. Perhaps, it is the killer Ethernet that’s working the magic. Thus, this game is highly recommended if you have the right rig.
The downside is that the display intricacy is not as refined as GTA V and in addition, the game FPS is limited at 60 FPS. However, the overall gaming flow and performance is better than good.
The user's comment for using MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card:
(The following commends are translated from user’s article, does not represent the viewpoint of MSI) ^^
Recently, MSI GTX 960 just launched so the initial price tag is still adjustable.
According to the current product line, it seems like this GPU is going to replace 750Ti. So once all the stocks (750Ti) at the store empties, we are most likely to see a price drop on GTX960.
Once the price hits the sweet spot, it’s time to try out GTX960 SLI’s performance.
The CP value on MSI GTX960 and GAMING 5 MB is pretty high. But the XSplit software that comes with the product is a bit annoying since the authentication steps are divided into 2 parts to go through for using it.
    Enough said, anyways, GAME ON!

NVIDIA 960 card  + GAMING 5 motherboard = best bundle for budget gaming!
it would be nice to see more testing of hardware-demanding games!

I bought a MSI Z77A-G43 and 1st PCIE (3.0 I guess) slot doesn't work? I mean when I put my gf card in it , my screen wont start. BUt when I put it to other blue Pcie (2.0 I guess) it works. What will be the reason? Do I need to do anything in bios ?

I had a similar situation recently.
1.) Check the cpu/ socket for damage
2.) Remove the mobo and make sure there are no extra stand off's under the board.
3.) Check the pci/e slot for obstruciton or debris
Other than that it's probably going to be an rma issue.

  • MSI 955X motherboard and Lan failure

I finally got my 955X Intel Pro/1000 PL to work reliably. You can forget about the drivers MSI puts on the CD as well as any updates MSI offers for the Intel Pro/1000 PL they don't work. Well they probally will work for some that don't have a LAN with many switches.
But the base Network driver fails on every 955X board I have. Even if I dropped the speed down to 100 Full, instead of autodetect.
You should get the net3 driver they have at www.intel.com PRO2kxp driver. After installing this driver I now have a new set of options that were not available using the drivers MSI gives you. The lan is now also very stable.

That's right. The driver in the CD was old. I never bother MSI CD, it's CD it can never be the latest.
    Here's the Intel's link to the driver : http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProductID=62&DwnldID=4275&strOSs=All&OSFullName=All%20Operating%20Systems&lang=eng

  • MSI Gaming Motherboards SLI Question

Hello, I've looked through several of the MSI Gaming motherboards, and I've noticed that they all support 3-way CrossFire, but only 2-way SLI. Why is this? Are there any MSI gaming motherboards that support 3-way SLI, or would I have to get a different kind?
    Thanks!

    Quote from: badboy2k on 10-June-15, 18:19:47
    the only z97 board that can do 3 or 4 way SLI that MSI makes is the Z97 XPOWER AC as it has PLX (PCI Lane Splitters) chips and can support PCI-E Gen3 (0, 16, 0, 0, 0), (16, 0, 0, 16, 0), 16, 0, 0, 8, 8), (8, 0, 8, 8, 8)
Honestly, that's a hack and it should be avoided.
The PLX chip comes with significant latency issues.
Native CPU x8-x8 is faster than PLX x16-x16
That's why the PLX chip is disabled in 2-way SLI on most of the motherboards who support it.
It makes sense for 3-way and 4-way, but the performances boost is minimal.
So the best solution is always a CPU with 28 or 40 PCI-E lanes.

Im writing the code like that for adf faces earlly access 13 but The Previous button, a choice, and a Next button in the tabel select one dont work i dont know why , they were working properly in the early access9 with the HR employees tabel with the same code but in the newest versions it dosent work .
    <af:table var="row"
    value="#{myEmployees.employees}" rows="10">
    <f:facet name="selection">
    <af:tableSelectOne text="Select Employee and "
    </af:tableSelectOne>

    what method does myEmployees.employees call?
that method must cache the List.
if a new List is returned each time, then the table resets to the first row.
we have fixed this in EA15.

  • MSI-PRO-E Motherboard and OCZ3G1600LV6GK

I have been doing some research and am deeply confused. I am going to be buying a MSI Pro-E motherboard and am planning on buying OCZ Gold Ram (3 x 2GB). I was looking at the timings and am getting confused. Some people are saying you have to mess with the BIOS to get the timing to 8-8-8-24, and others are saying that you don't have to do anything. So I am wondering if you actually have to do anything in order to obtain the timing of 8-8-8-24? Also Can the motherboard run RAM at 1600Mhz without overclocking or would I have to overclock the RAM in order to get that speed?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I forgot to mention that I am going to be using a I7 920 processor. Also I found a picture of the bios settings someone had and they were doing the second method you mentioned.  I don't think it has more than 1 XMP profile, and if it does I'm probably not going to change it because I will be using the second method. So just to double check to make sure I'm not messing this up, I want to set it to 2N not 1N right? (Just checking cause I read somewhere that you usually leave it on 1N.)
Typically you will want to use 1N but some RAM won't be able to do it properly...
Something else you may want to consider: If you use 1333 mode instead of 1600 you won't have to increase voltage and often can use much better RAM timings. I've some 7-7-7-20 Corsair RAM in here but when I found out that in 1333 mode it runs with 4-6-6-15 without the requirement to increase the voltage, I was very happy to leave it at that. There are also other timings which can nicely be set manually - my tRFC is 49 instead of 88 now!
Something which may speak against using XMS info: My corsair RAM is a triple kit, but somehow one module has one value set differently than the others in there...thus I'm using manual setup now (tRFC was set much too high anyway, it wasn't even using XMS info).

  • MSI Ti4800SE and MSI KT4V motherboard incompatible?

Yesterday I bought an MSI Ti4800SE to replace a GeForce2. It booted up fine and Windows detected it and installed the drivers. However, on rebooting, the monitor went blank and there was a series of beeps.
The computer would not start. I tried taking out all the other cards and tried the video card in 2 other computers but all I got was the beeps. I took the card back and got a refund as they had no more in stock.
Is the video card incompatible with the motherboard for some reason? Did I somehow cause the card to die? Should I buy another or will the same thing happen again?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    My system is
    MSI KT4V motherboard
    Athlon 2500
    512Mb Kingston RAM
    SB Live
    Network card
    56k Modem
    2 hard drives
    DVD ROM
    Mitsumi CD writer
    350W PSU
    Windows 98SE
    Thanks in advance

Thanks very much for your advice - looks like I need to spend yet more money then!
But do you think I damaged the card by not supplying enough current, bearing in mind that it booted OK the first time? Or was it not damaged at all?

  • Msi motherboard and driver

    hi guys!!
I've got some trouble with my computer and need to find a driver for my motherboard:
    MSI  MS-6743PE
Is there a way someone can helps me???
And so i cannot find the driver for my ethernet control??
I'm kinda lost with this thing for about a week.
    Don't know what to do with that;
    Hope you can help me.

I always like to download the Intel Pro Set drivers for integrated Intel LAN chips, much newer than the ones on MSI's site and includes the proset utility.
    http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/download.asp?url=/4275/eng/PRO2KXP.exe
    version on MSI's site:
    7.1.12.0

  • Compatibility between MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 and motherboard

Hi guys, I want to know if there's compatibility between my motherboard "MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R AGP8X" and the "MSI NX6600GT-VTD128" because I want to buy this Video Card but my doubt is about the compatibility or maybe some errors, and I have a 400W Power Supply.. that's ok for this video card?... thnx !!!

    hi, how are you.
wel there are no cmpatibility issue with this motherboard and the video card... or i am not notify about...
but do you have to give "us" (all posiblle reply) more info about your pc, anyway the only limitation about it's the slot used, that motherboard uses agp8x and you have to buy a 6600vtd agp 8x, because thera are one model pci express that's all
the power issue: not a issue realy 400w power source are just enough
th real monster are hte 6800 family that need  470w or something like that to work fine
ok i hope  best to you and your newer card, and tellme how works this magnificent piece of technological art(in middle rank) and the capture feature with onchip video processor
    byee!!

  • An ATX P4 power supply and a MSI-6119 motherboard. Does it work?

I am reparing my computer. (Power supply broke down)
    I found a cheap ATX 350W P4 power supply.
It is intended for P4 motherboards, and has the same connectors as my old PSU, except one more: the ATX 12V connector (4 pin , 2 yellow 12V and 2 black earth), that you normally have to plug in a 4 PIN connector called JPW1.
On a PII/III board such as the MSI-6119, there is no JPW1.
Apparently the PSU doesn't start up if the ATX12V connector iis not plugged in.
How can I make it work?

    Thanks for the manual.
No beep when booting without RAM. No sound at all. power supply does not start.
    I did the following:
    1. Disconnect PSU from everything - do not plug ATX connector, but short circuit pin 14 (green) and 15 (black) of the 20 pin ATX connector - put in external power cable. The PSU starts humming.
Apparently, when pin 14C is pulled low, the ATX PSU jumpstarts. ( see http://www.duxcw.com/faq/ps/ps4.htm ).
    2. disconnect all drives ( HDD, CD, FDD ) (power supply and ATA66 cable) - plug 20 pin ATX connector in motherboard - connect power cable -  no boot;
CONCLUSION 1: Pin 14 is not pulled low by the circuits of the motherboard, which it should. why?
    3. connect all drives ( HDD, CD, FDD )  with power supply cables to PSU and ATA66 cable to motherboard.
    PSU not connected to motherbord
short circuit green and 15 of the 20 pin ATX connector.
Power supply starts, HDD and CD however not ( FDD starts ).
CONCLUSION 2: connection of ATA66 cable disables power supply to HDD and CD/RW
    4. connect only power supply cables to HDD/CD /FDD and not the ATA66 cables.
No connection of PSU with mothetboard
short circuit green and black of the ATX connector. ( So Motherboard not implicated )
     - Power supply starts, HDD / CD and FDD start also.
CONCLUSION 3: my HDD etc and internal power cables are OK.
And I am no step further.
