MSI 9643 / Super Q965 Single Board Computer

I have an MSI Super Q965 Single Board Computer.   It will work with an E2200 (800 Mhz FSB) processor.  But it wont work, is dead, with a Pentium® Processor E6300 (2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)  The bios version is 1.3 the lastest from the web site.  The specs say it will support 1066 MHz FSB.  Is that a type-o error?  Any body have any info about this SBC (single board computer) ?  Is it a bios problem?  Can someone at MSI give me a new bios?

It will support FSB-266-MHz Processors.  However, that E6300 (2.80 MHz) is a rather new 45nm CPU and BIOS v1.3 is a year old.  A 65nm processor (e.g. E6600) should work properly.

  • LabVIEW for Single Board Computer

Planning to develop a compact portable Data acquisition system. The idea is to use a Single Board Computer and PC 104 cards. The PC 104 vendor confirmed that LabVIEW drivers are available for Windows XP OS.Thats fine. Now I would like to know if I can use the LabVIEW that I have used on PC on the Single Board Computer as well. Please suggest.
    Thank you.

Nothing with the answers I got there. In fact they were very useful.
Thats a good point let me make it clear. The focus on that post was primarily on the interfacing of the PC104 cards for LabVIEW.
This post was made to make a note of the process,if any of using LabVIEW on a Single Board Computer - This was mentioned in the former post but isnt detailed.
So,Now,I would like to know the available options for using LabVIEW on a SBC.
    - Can I load the Developer Suite onto it?
    - Should I develop application on a PC and use an executable on SBC?
    - What is the practise and what are the issues likely to be faced during the process of application porting/development?
I guess there are people around here who worked/working on similar projects. So,it would great if details of what and how they have done can be shared.
    Hope this explains.

I think that the key here is going from a 32 bit to 64 bit computer operating system where Premiere Elements 11, 12, or 13 can become 64 bit application in a Windows 7 or 8.1 64 bit computer operating system. The increased computer resources implication of that should increase the frequency of getting the larger project taken to a successful complete more than before. A lot of this has to do with multitasking potential.
Premiere Elements does not support CUDA as seen in high end video cards/graphics cards. Since Premiere Elements 9, Premiere Elements has no GPU accelerated effects. But, I would decide on the best card for you based on overall computer rather than just for use in Premiere Elements. If you are interested in computer games, that will impact your card decision.
The use of a non super NVIDIA or ATI card should work for you. But, I have used neither.
I would consider more installed RAM, depending on your computer motherboard slots.
You might want to discuss the choice of the card with NVIDIA.

    I suspect that
My desktop and laptop computer both use the integrated Intel HD Graphics where my strengths included installed RAM, free hard drive space, and computer processor.

  • 990FXA-GD65 Temps-Hardware Monitor or????MSI heatsink super hot???

So I ran threw a post same board and using Hardware Monitor...
Trying to figure out the tmps of hardware monitor--and this is what I got.....
    TMPIN0 is my CPU Temp
    TMPIN1 is my Mosfet
TMPIN2 is my MB or Chipset
Here is my issues---I figured the TMPIN0 is MOSFET temp, But I am not sure if it is....Right now at idle mine is around 57c.....so I decided to feel around in my case...I touch the heatsink that say Millitary class...and it is warm to the touch....I figured this was where the mosfet is....But I also felt the heatsink That says MSI...and boy is that hot...matching the temp of 57c....I know that if I put my pc under stress this will probably climb....So the 57c is coming from there.....I have a Great case-with plenty of cooling...so just wondering--are these suppose to get hot? and how hot is to hot? Do I have a defective board? I have built tons of computers-but this is the first time-I have ever payed any attention to this?
    any help?????
so looking at the hardware monitor thing...
    TMPIN0 is the CPU temp
TMPin1 is the 990FX chip temp
    TMPIN2 is the SB950 temp
My 990FX chip with the MSI label is the hot 58c.....
Update---In performance tab--if I put it on Balanced-meaning C/q will downclock the cpu when not in use-or like speedstep....It runs 48c--But if I tick high performance-running around 3.9ghz average--it hits 58c.....does the board need time for the heatsinks thermal grease to break in? is that what they use underneath? I have ran this pc for about a total of 4-5 hours not counting the 2 hours for installing Windows???
Update again------I did a quick google search....990FX NB temps...and mine is not that far off from what a lot of other people are getting. I guess the FX990 NB chip tends to run warm. They were getting up to 80c on load. This just don't seem right...I have owned computers in the past with NB-getting around 72c...but that was an old amd.. I would like to hear what your NB is or what you guys consider stock temps.
I am sure I am talking about the righ thing-still a newbie here....But the heatsink right below the cpu...it is the only thing in my computer hot to the touch-so I assume this is what is giving me those temps.

    here is the link again...
     http://support.amd.com/us/ChipsetMotherboard_TechDocs/48691.pdf
This has the thermal limits-you guys are talking about....Believe it or not--With the addition of that antec spot cooler...Your temps will drop by half. I really think that this is a design flaw...Or MSI should offer some sort of Cooler or fan that fits this. With all the reading I did on this--MSI is not the only company with issues like this. Every board that has the 990fx...is having the same temp issues...This just runs warm and the only solution---Reapply thermal grease"temp fix" or buy a spot cooler..9$ to 15$ and you never have to worry again...
I think reapplying thermal grease will not help..maybe a few degree's...But it will get warm again...You either need a air cooler--so the heatsinks get air...or add a fan. My spot cooler sits right in front of the heatsinks...
There are many many posts on the fx990....and MSI is not the only board with this issue...I believe I even found a post where a guy was asking for everybodys temps..No matter the board...I seen temps there upwards of 100C....80c is far from the 100c mark this guy had and he was running fine...
    http://www.overclock.net/t/1161772/what-are-your-990fx-northbridge-temps
Hope this helps and feel free to ask me about my temps...I have the PC sitting here and running Great....

No Console Output Devices are found that code is a DXE code meaning it cant find a vidio output device!
so 6 posibuilitys here to whats causing it:
1: Poorly Seated graphics card - remove it and reseat
2: Poorly seated CPU - remove the cpu and reseat it correctly...
3: Bad Video Card BIOS- your graphics card may be defective or may require its VBIOS to to flashed
4: Defective Graphics card - will require the card to be RMA'd for replacement
5: conflict between the board bios and video card - may require the board to be updated to support the video card
6: Defective board - will require the board being RMA'd for replacement
try your video card in another Computer and see if its functioning?

  • Sycing Iphone contacts to my car's board computer (bluetooth)

    Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to sync the Iphone contacts to my car and to generate calls from the car's interface using contacts instead of manually typing the whole number.
Currently I can use only the basic functions via bluetooth: to pickup and generate calls (typing in the whole number, which I usually don't remember)
Is it an Iphone issue or does it depend on the car and its bluetooth/board computer?
    Message was edited by: Zstas

I`ve got a Qashqai and my contacts does not get transferred. I think this is due to that my car expects that the transfer should be started manually, while the Iphone starts transferring automatically, and then my car is not in a "receiving state" when the transfer starts. Either I need some upgrade for my cars Bluetooth, or I need a new application for my Iphone.
I`ve had many other phones that had the manually transfer ability, and that worked well.

  • NGSA2 c code in my single board RIO

    Hi,
I want to introduce several c code in order to have an intelligent controller in my single board RIO. I have read that i have to put it in a shared library in the VxOS of the RIO, but the instructions to do this are quite "dirty". Is not there any other solution??

    Peper,
You are actually referencing the previous generation of sbRIO's manual in this post. It is a bit confusing at that manual was labeled 963x. If you go to the sbRIO-9636's product page, you can select "Resources" and get to the prodcut manuals from there. Here is the sbRIO-9636's manual.
The Sleep I/O item allows C Series module to enter a sleep mode, not the sbRIO controller itself; therefore, the sbRIO-9636 does not have a Sleep I/O item under the FPGA target in the LabVIEW Project.
If you want to go into a lower power state, you can stop the FPGA bitfile from running which should lower the power consumption (you can do this with the FPGA Abort invoke node with the FPGA Interface that runs on RT).

  • Super 8 Filme am Computer vertonen

    Guten Tag,

  • CANopen with single board RIO sbRIO 9606

    Hello,
I am searching for any support considering  CANopen functionality applied on single board RIO sbRIO 9606.
There are some tutorials for cRIO using FPGA, but is it possible to translate the known PDOs or SDOs to the format which can be than used with the available Embedded CAN for sbRIO?
Thank you in advance for any comment!

    Hello Jesse,
that the embedded CAN driver doesn't have the CANopen functionality is clear, but according to the fact that the lower level protocol implementing is usually (CAN) it should be possible to write VI which will allow the usage of CANopen commands combined with the embedded CAN driver for single board RIO. Or?
There are some examples for RIO which do allow CANopen functionality using the CAN module.
Can you please send me additional information considering the basic CANopen master functionality.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Single Board Rio: sleep mode unavailable

    Hi,
I bought a Single Board RIO 9636 which is to be used in a battery-powered system. Hence, power consumption is critical.
I hoped I could use the sleep mode that is mentionned here (p29) and here but the "sleep I/O item" does not appear in the Labview project.
Do I have to do something special to make this I/O appear in the FPGA I/O?
Does my SBRIO support sleep mode?
Any idea of the kind of power consumption I can achieve with sleep mode on? Is there a big difference compared to regular mode?
    Best regards,
    peper

  • Is there any recommended maximum number of deployed application to a single user/computer?

    Hi!
As the title says, i wonder if there is any recommended maximum number of deployed application to a single user/computer?
I have about 60-70 applications in my environment, how would the performance be affected if I would make these available for all computers or users to install? I guess its only the client that would be affected right?
How intense is the process that checks if applications is installed, applicable etc..
    Thanks!
    //Samus

There will be n/w  Performance impact, consider if all the applications are being downloaded on the machines for install by users since its Available install ,consider few users are initiating the install from application catalog for few application
then it will impact the n/w performance, various things are also into considered.

  • Is MSI Z77A-G43 a good board? For Ivy Bridge?

Is MSI Z77A-G43 a good board? I have read few problems posted here in the forum. Obviously majority of users use it just fine?
Is the mobo good for Ivy Bridge? I don't see Ivy Bridge listed here http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-G43.html#/?div=CPUSupport

Yes the Z77 supports Ivy Bridge. The CPU support list is not quite up to date as as the time there were no CPUs available, they were supposed to launch April 23rd but have been delayed until some time in June as far as I know.

  • Sneak Peak at MSI's new X58 Nehalem board.

Sweet.  I ran across this a little bit ago.  The new MSI X58 MB.  It doesn't seem to say which model, but looks like a Diamond as I see some familiar black and red HW SATA ports, but there is a third blue one!  Maybe RAID 5 HW RAID FTW!!!!
I like the triple channel memory, but will hate having to pay for triple packs of RAM.
There's even a good shot at the new Nehalem 1366 CPU socket.  Pretty cool looking layout.

Going triple channel, seems a step back really........... We have had Dual Channel mainstream for a few years now. Via had the Quad channel with the PT880 chipset, but never become popular......... so why triple and not quad......?
Everything else is quad pumped up.......
We now have the P45 chipset with support of 16Gb ram, so will we be looking at 32Gb with this mainboard?
Nice find by the way, Mark
hmm, what if it has been raised from quad pumped to x6 (Sept?) pumped?  that would be cool.  It sure would make sense then.  or better yet triple data rate memory (TDR).  I just hope there's something to take advantage of it at any rate.  The current dual channel doesn't seem to offer much in performance increase.  RAM sizes are getting so big that we don't need anymore than 2 sticks as it is, so 3 better give us something besides more unneeded RAM.
    Quote
I would agree that quad channel would have been better for speed .... But 8 Dimm slots?  biggthumbsdown
It might have worked with just 4 Dimm slots as well with each one on a seperate channel, so there could be budget boards with 4 slots, and high end boards with 8, but it would be difficult to fit 8 slots onto a normal sized board.
I really like the layouts of the slots on these boards, they have gotten it right by ensuring that one PCI slot is still usable with all of the PCI-E populated.
The board with 3 slots can handle 3 double width cards, or the 4 slot board can handle 4 single slot ones. I hope we will see boards with just two PCI-E 16x slots as well though.
Makes me feel like  crying for having bought an X48 now lol.
With all these boards going in features I'm thinking they may grow in size.  I seen a few days ago a case with 10 slots on the back.  I think it may have been a server case, but with triple and quad sli/xfire I could see them creating a bigger board.  although I'm sure multi-core GPU are just around the corner, especially since AMD and ATI have merged.  I can't can wait for a multi-core CPU/GPU combo for some awesome onboard video.
