MSI 9800 PRO Display problems on my TV

Hi. i use MSI 9800 PRO R360. when i want to watch my desktop on both my MOnitör and Tv There is only seems my desktop scene. when i put the icons on right part on monitör with mouse , icons seems on Tv From left. and icons seems only on Tv now not on monitor... i hope you understood me.what is the problem?

Check if you are "extending" or "cloning" your video, probably the first one (gives you extra deskto space, instead of a replica of your monitor on tv.)
A question: My tv output sucks, it's too dark, and I have no brightness controls in my control panel (for the tv). ¿any workarounds?

  • Safe O/C for MSI 9800 Pro

I would like to know with your experiencie with the msi 9800 pro, what is safe with the stock cooling to o/c this card?
Now I have it mine in 411.75/364.50 (XT speeds), no artifacts in 3dmarks 01 and 03.
I run the Atitool when I bought it, and gave me the range 453/369. But I don't dare to keep it o/ced at this speeds.
    Regards

I DONT GIVE A   but thanks for the warning.
if i break my card due to overclocking i go to the store and will probably have a new card on my way home.
i used my head when i bought it so i went to a store i know is good but they are a bit more expensive than others.
and putting heatsink on the memory chips will void warranty if the store decides so.

    why only 364.50 memory speed?
mine is 378 stock and can go up to 410 or something.

  • MSI 648 Max - Display Problems

I recently bought the MSI 648 Max motherboard, as my system needed an upgrade quite badly.  To cut the costs down a bit, I’ve used some parts from my previous system (eg the video card which is an 2x AGP, 64 Mb, Kyro based card) but got new RAM, CPU and psu.
I put together the system (described below), loaded Windows ME, updated all drivers with latest releases, and the thing works but the quality of the display is really bad    ;( .  That is, I get lots of video artefacts (shadows, fading text, vertical lines, distorted colours, etc).  The video card was working fine on my other machine.  Also, Sisoft Sandra says that the card is operating at 2x AGP, as it should.
I am not overclocking; some of the BIOS parameters I used are as follows (based on the OPTIMAL DEFAULTS):
    AGP Aperture Size                     128 Mb
    DRAM CAS Latency                      by SPD
    Timing Setting Mode                      NORMAL
    MA 1T/2T Select                      AUTO
    Primary Graphics Adapter      AGP
Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA      NO
    CPU/DRAM Frequency Ratio      by SPD
DRAM Frequency                      167 MHz (for now)
    CPU Frequency                      133 MHz
    AGP/PCI Frequency                      66/33
    DRAM Vcore          2.6 V
    CPU Vcore         AUTO
The system temperature showed in the Health Status is less than 40 C (104 F).
I have tried the latest AMI BIOS (version 1.3), and then reverted to version 1.0, but I still have the same display problem.
I would really appreciate some help.

  • MSI 845 Pro - Memory Problems

    I have an MSI 845 Pro(FC-PGA2) mainboard.
So far I have tried PNY PC133 129MB DIMMS and Windows keeps resetting itself at random intervals or the logo screen pops up and it will reset.
I then tried an unbranded make of 256MB and it kept freezing during installation.
The only memory that does work is Kingston 65MB PC133.
I have now very PO`ed if this mainboard will not accept any other brand of memory.
Please if you have suggestions then post them or PM me.
If you have had the same problem also please contact me.  X(

  • 865PE Neo2 and Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics Problems

    Hello!
I just got done building a new system last week, and I've noticed some issues when playing games.  Problems arise when the "Performance Mode" is set to anything higher than 'Fast' in the BIOS.  I get a ton of artifacts when playing games.  I also get artifacts when the Dynamic Overclocking feature is turned on.  I'm using the latest Catalyst drivers, running on XP SP1 w/ all patches installed.  My guess is that my graphics card doesn't like the boost in speed.  BUT, I bought the VisionTek 9800 Pro because I read several reviews on it that said it was stable when overclocked.  Anybody have problems like this?  I saw an earlier post stating something about OEM 9800's being fakes, but this was a retail version ordered from CompUSA.  Any advice, tips, comments would be greatly appreciated... It's driving me NUTS!

I've got the Built By ATI Radeon 9800 Non-Pro and I've set Perf Mode to Slow and DOT to Disabled. This enabled me to OC the Proc stably.
I've played SWG with all terrain and video settings to the MAX and have had only one problem where the game itself crashed. But that was an anomaly not the norm.
I personally would recommend icing perfmod and DOT. They seem to be good marketing ideas, but don't gain much in practice.

  • GP70 2PF Leopard Pro - display problem

    Hi,
last September I purchased a notebook mentioned above. It's been great, but I've encountered a small problem - sometimes, the display starts going crazy, as you can see in the image and the video.  It only happens when using integrated graphics card (or in other words, this has never occured when I was gaming). Simple fix is to use hardware button to turn display off. Upon turning on, it's working again. Does anyone else have this? Or does anyone know what is the cause?
Additionaly - when logging in today, I noticed that the product I've registered in the MSI Hub is no longer there. Was there any reset or something like that?
    Thanks in advance

Hi, You can try INTEL and Nvidia driver update.  Also BIOS and Firmware update may help.  If the display still goes crazy then you better let service center check panel cable or graphic chip.

  • Macbook Pro Display Problems

I have a Macbook Pro thats 2 years old.
Everyday now the display just goes black, I get no picture but there seems to be power still going to the screen because you can see the black going brighter when you turn the brightness up.
The only way to get the picture back is take the battery out, press power button for 10 seconds, restart and reset prams.
I have also reinstalled the OS twice.
It happens a few times a day and seems to be getting worse.
    Any ideas appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi D,
I am not aware of the 9400 having a similar volume of issues. All hardware will have a certain percentage of issues, but the 8600 is/was well above the norm. I don't believe the same is true of the 9400, and if it is, there still isn't a special repair program for it. I recommend perusing the 2008/later MBP forums.

  • Macbook Pro Display Problems - Pixels distorted and jerkig up and down

I took a video of a problem my Macbook Pro is having... I am going to take it in for repairs but am wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if there are any ideas as to what it might be. It has been getting progressively worse over the past couples weeks. At first, it would not start happening until my computer was on for a while. Now, it happens all the time, but it only distorts the windows open above my desktop... not the desktop itself.
Here's a link to the (terrible) video I recorded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfmmaoDBWLQ
    Any ideas? Thank you!

Glad to help! Sometimes it's good to play with UA a bit, just so you can recognize what's going on if something gets activated. For example, somebody's cat managed to turn on the "White on Black" feature, which drastically affects the appearance of your desktop. I don't know how features in UA keep getting turned on accidentally, but it happens.

  • MB Pro Display Problems

Hey everyone, my friend recently dropped his MB Pro from about 1-2 feet on a carpeted floor. This is what his display looks like:
Do you guys think it's a loose connector from the board -> display?
    Any thoughts on a diagnosis?

    Hi there,
well, it wasn't all this bad...
Yesterday I tried to get it fixed by following the description from here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16192303#16192303
I tried to install the first update but my computer said I don't need that! And so I quit it...
I went to the Apple Store today, we looked for the right update and found the "Lion Thunderbolt Software Update", downloaded it, installed it..... and tested it. And it works fine now.
Thanks to the Apple Store in Vancouver (Pacific Center)!
But why don't you guys have Thunderbolt Displays in the store!?!?!?!
    Greetz and cheers!

  • MSI FX5600 VTDR128 Display Problem

I've just built a new PC using components listed below. When I switch the PC on the display comes up with coloured vertical lines every time. I believe its the graphics card. It checks the drives ok and beeps once then continues to boot up. I stuck a Win XP disc in the DVD drive and it started to boot. It even copied files to the hard drive so the rest of the PC must be working. Anyone got any suggestions.

Ordered it from simply.co.uk. Phoned them yesterday and their arranging to collect and send out a new. Still waiting for the courier though.
Borrowed a Matrox PCI card from work. Fitted it last night and up pops the ASUS splash screen.   PC booted fine into Linux drive I had in their for testing. Just waiting for the new card now. All I've got to find out next is whether the software activation in XP is clever enough to see the hardware has changed. I'd like to keep my old PC.
    Thanks for your comments.

  • Mac book pro display problems

I have a mid 2009 mac book pro 15 inch. All of a sudden when I tilt my screen back more than 90 degrees, the right two or three inches gets distorted.
Some time is I wiggle it, it goes away. And wow, like right now it wont do it. Its like somting is loose?? Should I take it in or is it eay enough to see a poential loose cable if I take it apart.

If you have some mechanical aptitude and the right tools, go do it.  But first go to iFixit and look for instructions so that you do get any unpleasant surprises.
If you suffer from chronic fingerfumbelblitis, then it is the Apple store genius bar.

  • MSI 9800 PRO - Theatre Clone mode Not Active!!!

    Hi...
MY monitor is wide and icons  seems on TV when i drag them to the right side..so I want to activate Theatre Clone MOde .but it is inactive....
    How wil i activate?

What Bas said about 30+ amps on the 12v rail does have merit. Even if you don't use it now there may come a time when you want to upgrade the system and certainly you won't want to buy yet another PSU then. A High end vid card now takes almost as much as the CPU to operate. Now days the 12v rail is the most important. Past systems regulated everything off the 5v railk and 12v was used mostly for powering drive motors. Now though the MB's use the 12v line to regulate all the voltages for the CPU, Chipset and other features as does the Vid cards. 3.3 volt lines are used for memory so we hardly use any 5v nowdays.
You have an older viod card and that does not eat much 12v but if you upgrade the most likely peice will be the vid card. You could go through this whole thing all over again if you are not careful to plan for that now with a new PSU purchase.
If the computer shop gives you a bunch of bull about power needs havbe them stop by the forum and we can help set them straight on this. There is more than enough data from MSI and historical data here that suggests that 16a on the 12v rail is certainly not enough. Hey I am not trying to sell you anything. I am just trying to help you get it right. The computer shop is the one trying to sell you something we just feel they are selling the wrong junk.
