MSI Afterburner "randomly" stops recording

I have an issue with an old version of MSI Afterburner. I use it to record gameplay, and the software would often stops recording anything, even if I press the key to stop the recording and start a new one. I have to actually leave the game and restart MSI Afterburner to get it to work again. The last video captured by the software would usually be corrupted and unreadable.
I think I know what's causing the problem, but I don't really know how to fix it : it happens from time to time, when a loading screen appears. MSI Afterburner would just completely cease to operate somewhere during the loading, with no warning, and now way to fix it without restarting the whole thing. I'm using version 3.0.1.
Yes, I know I should update MSI Afterburner, I'm actually doing that just now, but I'm especially interested to know if this is a known issue at all, and if that's the case, if it has been fixed in the latter versions. If not, is there any workarounds to it, besides stopping the recording each time there's a loading screen ? That would be impractical.

Msi Afterburner will not record

Hi every one i am hoping some one can help me as i can not seem to get it working, i am trying to record games (watchdogs and bf4) with msi afterburner but i can not get it to record, i have upgraded my afterburner to 3.0.0 but it still wont work.
Also when i try to screen shot it says "screenshot captured" but yet it does not save to the file location i chose in the settings, as far as i can tell it does not save any where as i can not find it, i really don't know what is wrong, i just want to be able to record my game play but it just wont record any thing, i have set it to record when i press F9 and when i press F9 a blinking camera appears on msi afterburner but i cant get it to stop blinking even when i press F9 again the only way to stop it is to close afterburner and no files still save.
My graphics card is a Msi r9 270 gaming on driver 14.4, would upgrading to amd's beta drivers perhaps get it to work.

Did you set up your capture file where you want it to be saved for both the screenshots and videos?
I use AB version 2.3.1 and it works just fine.

Audacity randomly stops recording after a few seconds

I've been trying to record a few things with audacity, which has generally worked pretty well for me in the past.
However, whenever I try to record a second track, it only records for a second or so after I hit the record button, and then randomly stops, although the cursor keeps on moving forwards and the meter keeps showing the input.
I haven't been able to find any reason why it would be doing this, and it is EXTREMELY fustrating. It has also done this when I tried to record for the first time in a new project, but I switched a few settings on and off again and it worked for some reason. Can anyone offer any help?

Is this still a problem for anyone? I came here looking for help and found more questions, so I started randomly playing with the input settings. I have an Ensoniq (es1371). Choosing OSS/DSP gave me an error trying to read the device; choosing hw0:0 or 0:1 had it stop recording at just over 0.6 seconds; turning software playthrough on or off had no effect. What finally worked was "ALSA:Default" and use alsamixer to control the recording source.
At the risk of being branded a linux hater, I should mention that the same hardware under Windows "just works" without any changes needed in the input settings on my part. I fired up Windows 7 in a vmware window - so not only did the Windows environment work correctly out of the box, that was with the additional layer of alsa -> vmware -> windows.

Why my iPhone Voice Memos sometimes randomly stop recording

Hello everyone,
I'm using my iPhone 6 Plus Voice Memos app to record my lecture in the university, the problem is sometimes the app stop recording and this is causing me major problem.
Note that I'm putting my iPhone on Airplain mode to avoid stopping the recording if someone called me.
The WiFi is sometimes ON while recording, but in all cases the Airplain mode is on
at the end I need to record my classes lectures for more then 60 minutes normally sometimes 160 minutes.

If your Voice Memos are still unexpectedly not recording after some time, I would recommend quiitting the app itself first:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

HELP!!! LOGIC RANDOMLY STOPS RECORDING FOR NO REASON!

WHILE IM WORKING IN LOGIC EVERYTHING WE'LL BE FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I HIT THE RECORD BUTTON (ON AN INSTRUMENT TRACK) IT WONT RECORD ANYMORE. I CAN STILL HEAR THE CLICK BUT NO MIDI DATA OR REGION IS BEING RECORDED. NO REGION SHOWS UP EITHER.

Try these ideas.
run disk permsissions repair, and disk repair. Consider getting Disk Warrior, it often repairs disks that other programs, don't find a problem with.
trash Logic prefs,
log on as another user, see if problem still occurs...
Does this do this all the time?.... I on occassion (only about 3 times in the last year) have created encountered a problem, where an 'invisible mute' or 'solo' has been generated. That is Logic acts as if a mute of solo button is on, even though none are visible.. I rectified the problem, by hitting "undo" a few times.. One time, I had to go back to a previous version of the song, and recreate from there. I never found out exactly why it was happening..
If none of these solutions work, I would trash Logic itself, and re-install.. And finally if none of that worked. I would trash the whole disk, reformat, install OSX and Logic again.. I have had to do that once or twice also.
Another less drastic measure might be to install another OSX and Logic on a different disk, or partition. Consider also, once you get things working OK is to Clone the OS drive to another, and keep that as a backup, in case things sour.
I have had to go the whole erase, re-install, routine twice in the last 2 years, and it seems to take the better part of a week to get EVERYTHING back to normal... Good Luck

A slow memory card could VERY easily be the problem. The camera needs to write very fast to keep up with the new frames as you shoot video. WHAT card (be exact) are you using?

GarageBand stops recording : no error given

I'm currently running GB '11, v 6.0.5, on a MacBook Pro with 4GB RAM and a 700MB HD. When recording a podcast in GB, it will randomly stop recording at some points, sometimes after 1min sometimes after 20min. It gives no error, just stops the recording... and due to the fact that I am unable to monitor it the whole time, we are unaware that it has stopped losing critical pieces in our podcasts. We are using a line-in to record. What could I do to solve this issue?

Autodrop stops recording ramdomly

This is driving me absolutely nuts. Is this a bug or am I not doing something correctly.
recording audio, trying to punch in but Logic is not behaving. If I don't douch anything with cycle or autodrop it will randomly stop recording in different places from one take to the next.
tried rebooting logic, repairing permissions several times. Can anyone offer some advise?

Enough of us do this on a regular basis, I guess, that it's probably not Logic. I have to say it sounds more like some kind of driver problem. I hate the usual recommendations "update your software" but I can't help feeling it's something in the driver/preferences/hardware route.
Sorry but I haven't seen any such problem and I look after 45 machines of various types.

OSD in Msi afterburner/RTSS stopped working in Witcher 3 and I don't know why cuz it did work... my card is R9 290x and I updated my drivers to 15.5 beta

MSI Afterburner can't stop recording

Hi, first sorry for my English, I speak French.
I try to video capture with MSI Afterburner 4.1.0, I set the hotkey @ CTRL+F11.
When I hit the hot-key, it's start recording, I have an camera icon in MSI Afterburner Hardware Monitor, but if I hit CTRL+F11 again, it doesn't stop the recording. Even if i press long time CTRL+F11 nothing happen, I changed hot-key with other one, it's start but never stop, in Windows 7 Desktop, does the video capture work only in game ?
Any one have an idea
I set picture capture @ CTRL+F12, then changed Screen capture to ALT+F12, when I hit the hot-key in Windows desktop, it's writed screenshot captured in MSI Afterburner Hardware Monitor, but nothing in the screenshot folder... I tested Screenshot capture in game and it works, i find JPG files in folder.

Camera stop recording in random hours

Hi everyone!
I have an issue with my VSM recordings, some cameras stop recording at random hours, suddenly stop and I can't see any event log that could make sense whats heppening. Those cameras are configured as motion recording template. Does anybody knows how I can get to the problem? Or any linux command that can help? I am new on VSM Cisco enviroment by the way.

Was on phone with tech support on this one for 2+ hrs. The issue is addressed in bug search CSCuq48083. Recommended firmware upgrade to 2.0.3-27 and vsom to 7.5.1. So far, have only done firmware upgrade on one camera. Don't think that fixed it. Will try to do software upgrade next.

MSI Afterburner, Unsynced recording

Hello,
I'm having trouble with my game recordings.
So I've setup my MSI Afterburner to record 30FPS 88% quality. Recordings are nice, all is good. There is however one major problem. When I export the project into a .avi .mpg or anything at all. There is a slight desync issue. It looks like its playing nicely. every often the frame jumps back a couple of seconds. I can't see how often it happens, but it litterally destroys the movies
So my question is how can the raw record play perfect, but when taking it into Permiere, try to export it then the video start to jump back a couple of frame and audio is in desync?

MSI afterburner not recording

Hi there.
I'm having this issue with MSI afterburner 3.0.0 Beta 14. Whenever I record using AVI format everything works 100% but when I use MKV The vidoe and audio is not in sync. Also when I use the new quick sync method I can do the benchmark and everything looks fine but when I try to record my gameplay I only get audio. I did everything posted on Guru3d.com but it still doesn't work. I also tried to playback on another pc. I have i5-2500k with z77-g45 so it's not my physical pc.

MSI Afterburner Lacks Record Option

Hello all,
I hope you can help me with this. I've used MSI Afterburner successfully on a desktop computer (specifically the recording aspect) and thought it was great, so I'm trying to get it set up for my laptop and am not having similar luck.
My main problem is this: I understand that when I view settings in the program that there should be tabs reading "Monitoring", "On-Screen Display", "Screen Capture", "Video Capture", etc. When I open up my settings, the only tabs available are "General", "Monitoring" and "User Interface". If there's an option somewhere to turn on video and screen recording, I haven't had any luck finding it.
I'm using the latest version of Afterburner (3.0.1). Maybe my graphics card isn't compatible? I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M. I don't recall what the video card is on my desktop.

Soundtrack Pro Stops Recording Randomly

I'm using STP Version 3.0.1 on a Mac Pro (OSX 10.6.5, 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Xeon and 16 GB RAM). I'm recording to a RAID Drive that's separate from my system drive (1.74 TB free).
I record through a Project Mix I/O connected by Firewire.
When I press record on either the I/O or by clicking on it in Soundtrack the file will stop recording after a random duration. Anywhere from about 0.03" to 00:01:45 or so - although much more frequently on the short end.
I've deleted my preferences, run software update and reinstalled Soundtrack (and Compressor) but the problem keeps occurring.
Any suggestions?

To the latter 2 questons, no, and no.
QT is not the greatest recorder but you might find Quicktime Broadcaster to be a lot more trustworthy and it is free.
