MSI AMD board which supports AMD mobile ?

Is there a MSI Mainboard which supports an AMD Mobile ? Does anyone of you have any experience with that combination or does anyone know a (desktop) mainboard able to run that combination ?

I have never understood why BIOS chips aren't all pop-in/pop-out replaceable. Then a screwdriver and $30 check to BADFLASH would update the BIOS with the threat of bricking a system that might take weeks/months to reconstruct. That's just panding to DELL/HP/LENOVA/MS & a bad attitude from the mobo manufactures.
I will take your advise and look for recently manufactured boards, tho getting a serial number from NEWEGG or TIGER DIRECT would be like getting a Lords-prayer from Beelzebub!

OK, since the AMD64 35W doesn't seem like it will work in any micro-ATX boards, I'm trying to find a board that supports AMD XP 35W.

I was selling my old 2000XP & decided to get the mobile 2400+, I also just pawned off my old microAtx MSI K2M? combo board so I grabbed the KM4AM-L it's suposed to support all of the bartons & basically eveything up to the 400mhz cpus.
Well it doesn't support the mobiles at all....
It boots up & recognizes it as an Athlon Mobile XP @ 600 mhz & feeds it 1.65vcore which is severely out of whack.
Since the board has no manual options for the multiplier the best you'd be able to do is run it at 200mhz fsb x 6mult = 1200mhz, but the voltage would still be way high & you'd generate lots of unnecessary heat... So, it's not a good thing.

1 - why program the bios to recognize the cpu name at all if you aren't going to support it with proper multiplier settings.
2 - unless the voltage regulator on the board won't go low enough for the mobiles why don't they work.
I've got another full ATX board that seems to understand the mobile so that's where it'll endup but I was hoping to build a HTPC system with a fast & cool chip running at stock speed under a nice quiet heatsink/fan combo. It's a logical use for an otherwise sweet microATX board.

MSI AMD FM1 A55-P33 - won't install windows 7 32bit

Hi there,
we have board the MSI AMD FM1 A55-P33 motherboard but for some reason we cannot install windows 7 32bit on it.
What does install flawlessly is:
All Windows7 64bit
Windows 7 Starter 32bit
We ( and also the local supplier here in South Africa ) have test the following components:
Power Supply
Ram
Ram Ports
Alternate Ram Manufacturer
DVD Writer
Hard Drives
Graphics Card
Onboard Graphics Alone
Board is running latest bios update.
and it still does not install.
They supplier has ordered in and tested the same model motherboard and it still does not install.
For me that means it could be the motherboard model or the cpu ( which is still being ordered in so an alternate can be tested )
When i say doesn't install, it installs until the very end where the installation restarts and goes into the installation one last time to finalize things
and then it throws a error and you can't complete the installation.
The local supplier has had the computer for 2weeks now with no success,
I was hoping someone here could assist us with a few suggestions.

I am getting a code 43 for my amd mobility radeon hd5000 series.

Same quastion but longer:HP Pavilion dv6 No Second Monitor with Widows 10With W7 I use a Pavilion 23xi Monitor via HDMI in addition to the lap top screen.On upgrading to Windows 10 only the Laptop screen is enabled.Looking at device manager and HP System info I see that the laptop screen is being driven by the “Graphics device 2: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series”, Device Manger reports “No drivers are installed”.“Graphics Device 1: AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series” in controlling nothing and DM reports, with a yellow exclamation mark, “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”.Presumably why I have no second monitor output?Any view on how to fix? “Update drive” says I’m running the latest driver. No luck with the ATI update software either.Another question is given that googling seems to say that the 4200 is not supported in W10 could this be a root cause of the 5000 problem and an indication that I’ll never get dual monitors back (which means going back to W7 or a new PC)? [GUIDE] Update AMD Mobility Radeon drivers to fix graphics issues

I made this small guide because some topics on this forum are about this problem and there is no official step-by-step solution from HP. So, how to fix your laptop's graphics issues by updating drivers for AMD Mobility Radeon HD GPU to latest version from AMD?
1. Install latest BIOS for your laptop from HP.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/Official-HP-statement-on-Switchable-Graphics-and-Open-GL/td-p/766285
2. In BIOS set Switchable Graphics Mode to 'Fixed mode'.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/268/79500144.jpg/
3. Install latest graphics driver for your laptop from HP.http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
4. In Catalyst Control Center make sure that active GPU is 'High-performance GPU'.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/cccv.png/

Solution for HP:
Release new driver each time AMD makes a new release within 1 week maximum. Hard? But this guy does nearly the same. Alone and for free. http://leshcatlabs.net/ OR simply ask AMD to provide direct links to new drivers like in an example above (see point 5) and sticky these links with a step-by-step instruction on this forum.

hey there, i ve recently bought the g6-1304sv notebook first things i did when i got it was all the updates, both the windows 7 updates and the HP assistant updates(that basically gave me the new bios and i guess new drivers for graphics) when i got into the bios and actually switched it to fixed mode the notebook gave me a bluescreen (i could only get into the pc in safe mode through which i uninstalled drivers for both the onboard and the amd card in order to actually get back in the pc normal way) the strange thing after that was that it didnt give me the catalyst center on the right click and when i downloaded and installed the latest it would say that catalyst could not start because it couldnt find the card (or sth like that) updated drivers for amd etc but still nothing. what i did then is creat backup cds and restore pc to factory settings. (does that remove bios update? dont think so)From that point onwards everything works fine and im now using the amd card no problemwhat worries me is the hp assistant messages saying that i need to update urgently. will that mess everything up again?i hope this helps others and i hope you have an answer for me thx in advance and for the guide!!!

Help... my KM4M-L displays Athlon Xp 2000+ as AMD Mobile Athlon 800

I'm using the motherboard KM4M-L (MS-6734) with CPU Athlon XP 2000+ but it always displays my CPU as AMD Mobile Athlon 800 MHz even though I've already set the jumpers for cpu speed to 133. When I tested setting the cpu speed to 100 it showed my cpu as AMD Mobile Athlon 600 MHz so I assum that the multiplier has been set to 6 from the factory. But wait... it doesn't have the jumpers for setting multiplier! Or the motherboard sets multiplier automatically? What's wrong with my motherboard or cpu? (I'm sure my cpu is Athlon XP 2000+, I've checked by installed it to my friend's machine and that machine displayed the cpu correctly). Could anyone pls help?

I concur with Nick. I'm also running the KM4M-L with a 2500+ (pre-week 3/39 unlocked) and there's no way to set multi or FSB in the BIOS.
I've blown the 3rd and 5th L3 bridges on the chip which gives it a default multi of 13 instead of 11. Not much of an overclock, but 2.16Ghz (instead of 1.83Ghz) is about the best I'd expect from default vCore.
Also, just to point out, the Mobile chips (at least in the case of my 2400+) default to the 6x multi, even in my NF7-S 2.0 board. I believe due to the PowerNow technology, they are set to start out at a minimum of 6x multi and can throttle up to as high as 13.5 depending on temp and power settings. (ie. remaining battery life)

AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series for windows 8.1

Hello,
I just updated my pc's operating system to windows 8.1.
The AMD(AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series) and Intel(Intel(R) HD Graphics) graphics adapters installed automatically when I connected to internet.
I then tried updating the drivers and it tells me that drivers are up to date.
But the pcs is incredibly slow. and when I shut it down and try to boot back, it fails to start
on about three attempts and finally gives me an uption to restore the system to previous state.
After successfully restoring the pcs, I then disabled the AMD graphics and the system boots successfully
and the performace improved slightly but not up to normal.
How can I install the suitable drivers for the display adapters and have the pcs perform fast as it should.
Or advise me on any alternatives or other possible solutions to get the pcs performing well and fast.

the windows can't open unless I uninstalled one of them
but I need a solution allow me adjust brighness that not found in AMD card but found in Intel vCard
and the most of games Intel can run it but AMD can

I understand that you are looking for help with your video drivers for the adapters in your notebook. Unfortunately, after doing some searching, it appears that Windows 8.1 is not a supported operating system for this notebook. HP customized drivers are only available for the Windows 7 operating system.

Но как только автоматически устанавливаются драйвера, начинает перегружаться компьютер! Сейчас я работаю с отключенными видеокартами, в другом случаи начинается перезагрузка компьютера, подскажите что можно сдлеать? Сейчас у меня полностью отключена и удалена - AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 (5650) серии, а Intel (R) HD Graphics Draver - работает без драйверов ((( .

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-3050ee Notebook and issue with Graphic drivers for Windows 8.1. You system shows me that the drivers are only available for Windows 7 on this machine. Updating to Windows 8.1 would rely on Windows 8 drivers only and you would lose some of the enhanced effects on this Notebook.
No, you can not use the Notebook without drivers installed.
Have you tried to just update the drivers in the Device manager on Windows 8.1?

I'm trying to install windows 8 in a MSI AMD 970 and I get the followin issue:
Secure Boot isn't compatible with your PC
Your PC's firmware doesn't support Secure Boot so you won't be able to use it in Windows 8.

Thanks for the response, it was the reply I didn't want to hear but was totally expecting.
I have accepted that the only way forward now is a motherboard upgrade.
The downside of this is that I have lost faith in MSI, and while I recognize that the fault here lies with the retailer who sold me this bundle I do not wish to be burned againi.
If anyone can recommend an MSI Motherboard capable of running the FX-6100 for a reasonable price, and can vouch that the throttling does not happen without the need for a third party cooling solution... then I will look into it. If not I have found a Gigabyte branded motherboard capable of 125w CPU's with good reviews for a similar price to the 760GM-P23.

I understand you're looking to update the GPU drivers for your notebook to the most recent versions.
In order to use the switchable graphics feature of an HP notebook, you must use the drivers that are provided on the HP - Drivers & Downloads website. These drivers are not always the most recent but are the only drivers that will allow the GPUs to work properly.
