MSI AT Radeon X1300 and LG W3000H FPD half resolution problem

Hi All gurus,
I have a big trouble. I have bought an LG monitor, 30" with DVI-D dual link interface.  I have an MSI, ATI Radeon X1300 based board.  That board is supposed to support the native 2560 x 1600 resolution, but it does not.  All I get the half of it: 1280 x 800.  I have tried to install all sorts of drivers, ATI original, MSI, Omega etc.  Nothing helps.  Reading up on the topic suggests that my card actually does not support DVI-D Dual Link, because some functionality is disabled: the ATI chip would support it, but some other chip between it and the DVI connector dumbs it down.  But, I am still hoping, since the official MSI page for the card says it does indeed support my resolution...
My question/request is: Could you help me to find out what is the problem, and fix it?

Please don't bump topics. >>Please read and comply with the Forum Rules.<<
Have you tried installing the monitor drivers?

  • Msi video card n240gt and n9800gt problems with output HDMI

    Hello to all
I have a problem I just bought a new Video card because I needed HDMI output. The previous card I have is a BFG Ge Force 8800GT 512 DDR2 running @ 1920x1080p 60Hz which works perfectly the only downside is it does not have HDMI out with 5.1. Now i installed the n240GT 512 DDR5 and tried watching BD ripped to the HDD and playing them back  all i get now it jerking lagging bad also and have horizontal red and green lines scattered across the screen.Which i did not have with my 8800GT card thinking  its  a bad card so i bought another card from another dealer this time its a MSI  N9800GT 1gig DDR3 and still the same problem.I Checked the resolution and its set to 1920x1080P refresh at 60Hz,i also changed the  Hz to 24Hz and it cleaned up the lines but not all and picture still  jerky picture. I have a MSI K9N NEO V3 Motherboard and all drivers updated current Bios. l used a DVI cable 40ft long with my Ge Force 8800GT and every thing worked fine, once I installed the new MSI Video cards N240gt and N9800GT I have the above problems and using a 50FT HDMI cable. I have a Samsung PN50A550 with 3 HDMI inputs 1 has my BluRay player hooked up with HDMI running at 1920x1080P at 60Hz and crystal clear picture no problems, input 2 has my HD Bell receiver running at same specs as input 1 no problems I tried the other HDMI inputs from the Samsung TV  from the HDMI out from the card same thing. It has to be the cards that can`t support the TV what else can it be if not the MSI cards. Please respond ASAP Thanks Thumpalong

You may want to borrow and test with another PSU.
We always recommend Corsair and Seasonic
I can't find anything on Topower other than that opinion piece of linked... getting frustrated. Most of the time I can find detailed info on most psu's not this time, so best to borrow and test.
Assuming of course that the older VGA's worked fine.

  • ¿Could work together a MSI K9N2 Sli Platinum and a Radeon HD 4890-HD489XZSFC?

Hello. I know that nVidia and Ati chips are not the best friends. However, I have a very good price and opportunity to buy the XFX RadeonHD 4890 1 GB DDR5 HD489XZSFC. Should I try? Actually I`m running a MSI 9600GT-OC which is not bad at all. This 4890 seems to be really great, I`ve been reading a lot of customer reviews and all of them were delighted.
K9N2 use the DDR2 memory and this GPU has the DDR5.
    What do you think about?
    Regards,
    Florin

We are not going to recommend other manufacturers competing products.  ATI video cards and NVIDIA MOBOS should have no problem working together. So, an MSI Radeon 4890 should not have any issue with a K8N2 SLI Platinum.

  • Blank screen while using a ati radeon x1300 pro graphics card

i'm getting a blank screen at start up while using my radeon x1300 pro... dont really know whats wrong with it. the agp slot is good, i'm getting power to the card, my board is set to boot agp/pci for the video so thats good. only problem is is that i'm not sure what the model of my motherboard is to check with compatiblity. got the mb and processor from a buddy of mine. he got the mb and processor from a friends grandpa... so to make long storys short. i have no idea what my computer is made of but from what i hear ati products dont seem to get along well with msi. is there any logical reason? and if so is there anything that i have overlooked here? common problems and such. i've updated everything i could update but still no signs of life comming from my video card " and yes the card was pushed in all the way". any feed back would be appreciated.

Example of what system spex should look like:-
    MSI P865 Platinum with 3.A bios ( MS-6728 VER 2 )
    Enermax 465 20 pin PSU +3.3V = 35A +5V = 35A +12V = 33A
Intel P4 Northwood 3.0Ghz (No overclock) (Arctic cooling Freezer HSF unit with Coolalabs thermal metal coolant)
512Mb Corsair XMS ddr400 memory (2x256Mb in dual mode)
    Trust Dugital Pci Sound card
Nvidia 6800GT 256Mb memory AGP card (No overclock)
80Gb Western Digital IDE hard disk on Primary
LG DVD IDE optical drive on Secondary
Jeantech Phong case (120mm in front intake and 120mm at back exhaust)
Win 98 SE (Del modded edition)
I am sure this will help you.

  • Installation of ATI driver for Radeon X1300, X1400, V5200 graphic cards on Windows 8.1

Dear Thinkpad users. After many failures and zero support from official resources, this is a comprehensive, unbiased installation procedure for the official ATI driver with Catalyst Control Center for Radeon X1300, X1400, V5200 graphic cards on Windows 8.1. In my experience, the latest driver for these cards written for Windows Vista 32-/64-bit works flawlessly on Windows 8.1 and you will benefit from multi-monitor support, full HW-acceleration and the PowerPlay option in Catalyst Control Center as well. Install only the official ATI driver, no other modification required. (The installation may work also on non-Thinkpad systems, such as Dell etc. but I have not tested it on that systems)
    Installation procedure:
    1. Before installation, ensure you are logged as an administrator
    2. Go to ‘Control Panel’ -> ‘Power Options’ and click on ‘Choose what the power buttons do’ option from the list on the left side of the window
    3. Go to ‘Shut-down settings’ on the bottom and disable ‘Turn on fast start-up (recommended)’. Unchecking that checkbox is very important because it will prevent the problem with start-up black screen on the computer.
    4. Go to ‘Control Panel’ again and choose ‘Programs and Features’, then click on ‘Turn Windows features on or off’
    5. Select the checkbox ‘.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) to turn it on and wait until the installation is completed
    6. Go to Windows update and install all important updates including those for ‘.NET Framework 3.5 as well
    7. Download ATI video driver from the website of your hardware vendor. For Lenovo Thinkpad T60, T60p users the latest ATI video driver is for Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit), please visit http://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t60... and download the driver
    8. Once you have the driver downloaded right-click on the file and choose ‘Properties’ from the drop-down menu.
    9. Click on ‘Compatibility’ card then ‘Change settings for all users’ and check in the checkbox at ‘Compatibility mode’ with the option for Windows Vista as well as at ‘Run this program as an administrator’
    10. Double left-click and install the program.
    11. Go to the location ‘C:\drivers\WIN\VIDEO and open the file ‘Bin’ (for Windows 8.1 32-bit users) or ‘Bin64’ (for Windows 8.1 64-bit users)
    12. Right click on ‘Setup’ file; choose ‘Properties’ from the drop-down menu and repeat the step 9
    13. Once you have set the properties, double left-click on that file and install the driver
    14. Follow the installation instructions and finish the installation
    15. Restart the computer
    cheers

hey , can u help me ? i am having the same problem

  • CS4 + XP SP3 + Radeon X1300 + HP2465 monitor = Huge issues

Hope someone can help me. I just installed the trial version of CS4 on a Dell Optiplex 745 running XP SP3 with a Radeon X1300 (with latest drivers) and HP2465 monitor. I have also installed LR 2.1 on the same machine a while ago and it works flawlessly. I have huge issues with the CS4 trial version.
    1. when i open CS4, when I click on file, almost all the entries are greyed out - except for Import, Automate and Scripts. even Exit is greyed out. if I click on Automate and get back, I can do normal operations like open, open in bridge, etc.
    2. when i click on the spot healing brush tool, CS4 crashes. Error signature says AppName: photoshop.exe, ModName: icm32.dll.
    3. when i go to smart sharpen, in the magnified view, there is no change if i move any of the sliders. all i see is a flicker.
    4. When I try to edit in CS4 from LR2.1, CS4 opens but it does not open the image file.
i find CS4 very flaky. i doubt it is the software as a ton of people are using CS4 successfully. I suspect the problem is with my confifuration - most likely display controller related.
Until this is resolved, i will go back to CS3 which works flawlessly on the same machine.
Can somebosy shed some light? Thanks & regards
    Murali

Looks like I found the solution thanks to suggestions in the following thread: Initial issues with PS CS4 Extended Windows XP Pro. (36 messages; 11/11/08)
I had installed a Nik plugin. I moved the Nik folder in the Plugin folder and CS4 opens properly. Guys: watch out when u install plugin in CS4. install 1 plugin at a time and thoroughly test CS4 prior to adding additional plugins.

  • MSI Ati Radeon HD4850 512 Mb. & AMD Radeon HD6850 1GB GDD5 CrossFireX Possible?

Hello everyone! In this new topic, I'll try to capture a doubt that I have a few weeks ago! The question is this, I have a video card MSI ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB and XFX Ati Radeon 6850 1GB GDDR5, and my question is whether these two plates can be joined to form a CrossFireX, ie the two plates running in simultaneously. I had the opportunity to read in other forums, there are people who form a CrossFireX, with the video card that comes in the motherboard, ie onboard plate ... I can say? From already, thank you very much!

this probably will not work, the card is too old

don't even see any 4xxx in the list

  • Old Radeon 7200 and 865PE Voltage

    Hi all,
just bought a new MSI board and in process of setting it up.  Unfortunately, no money to buy a new graphics board.  I currently have a Radeon 7200, and saw the warning regarding voltage on the motherboard, and am now confused.
The radeon 7200 is both 2x and 4x agp, or is a 2/4x agp compatible, running at different volatage.
MSI board says dont run 2x at 3.3 volts (I believe)?
MSI compatibility tests were not run on the older radeon 7200, so I am unsure if it will actually work/harm the board.
I see later radeons with similar specs are shown to be compatible, but it would be great if someone with a radeon 7200 could comment, or anyone knowledgeable about agp voltage.
    Thanks
    JCS

    It's safe to use.

  • My MSI X600XT Radeon drivers keep crashing

Hello everybody! Im new here so im still gettting used to the system. My problem im having is with my new video card. I just bought a brand new dell 4700,512,400mhz,pentium 4 computer. Bought this radeon card and it works fine, just not "too" fine whem im playing EQ2. Every so often it crashes while im playing and then tells me that my display driver stopped working,i reboot and its fine again. I had just went on msi live update and updated to latest driver 4 my card, and ever since then i keep crashing, especially when in a city or when theres too many people around.Im wondering if someone can tell me if crashes are due to moderate RAM or bad driver for card. PLEASE HELP!! Thanx.

Hi Davee50AE, welcome to the MSI forums
When you upgraded the driver did you first clean the old driver out with Driver cleaner after uninstalling. There may still be remnants of your old driver causing conflict.
    Cheers

a radeon 9000 pro video card either 64mb or 128mb
Can anybody tell me if this video card will work on this motherboard.
Will i need bios updates or driver updates any info will be grately recd.
I have tried a radeon 7500 128 mb without any luck
I have memory conflicts and bad driver instalation
    CAN ANYONE HELP !!!!!!!!!!

    Hi dazbacon,
Since you're using MS-6309 which is a Pentium III board, I move this thread to the respective Pentium III forum.
First of all can the card being detected by the PC, and PC able to POST? If yes, then it should be drivers problem. What graphics card you used previously? have you removed completely the old graphics card's drivers?

  • MSI & ATI Radeon "recovered from a device Failure"

    .System:
    P4 2.4G 533Mhz
    MSI 645E Max-U with Sis 645 DX
ATI Radeon 64 DDR VIVO AGP4x
    500 MB DDR PC2100 (266)
    80 GB HD ATA100
    Windows XP SP1
The system just locks up, Dark screen and after a while turns to 640 x 480 4bit mode and says:
"Microsoft Windows detected and recovered from a device failure. Please save your work and reboot to restore full functionality."
From other forums same thing happens in Gigabyte, asus and via. It looks like asus has allready made a new bios update for there board I hope MSI do the same thing soone  ;(  ;( .
Aparently 8X havent been fully exploted and there are some glitches. On top of that Windows XP and 2000 have some reflesh problems over 60 Hz (as it says in ati web)
Mean while is up to us to look for workarounds until they do there job.  If the Mobos (motherboard) makers dont make the change then it will have to be up to ATI.
Aparrently disabling the Fastwrite on windows helps a lot.  So far I have had this problem making a data backup on a DVD-R so two DVD-R wasted.
If you want more info on where I got all this go to:
    http://www.rage3d.com/board/showindex.php?s=&threadid=33662452
It looks like NVidia is having the same problem too but sorry cant help you there. go to this link to see if they can help you:
http://www.tek-tips.com and search for weirdest video card problem   thread749-458930

Your video card doesn't support AGP 8x, so that shouldn't be a factor at all.   Does SmartGart report it running at 4x?
Did you do a clean install of XP when you started using your mobo?
Has this problem only occured when using your DVD burner?  If so, the problem may lie with that.
Only other suggestion... maybe time for a new video card?

I have a new problem, a few days ago, acquired another HD4850 512MB MSI Radeon exactly equal to that already had, to fomar a CrossFireX, the thing is that this all wrong, and not to do ... I explain how procedures
first of all, connect the new video card to see if it worked and if it works perfect, then connect the 2 video cards to the motherboard, and connect the 2 bridges CrossFireX then lit the computer, and perfect, I noticed dispostivos administrator, and the 2 plates are recognized each other, so here we go perfect, then I went to AMD Vision Engine Control Center, to enable CrossFireX and I went out no option, nothing at all to enable CrossFireX I set if 2 plates were activated, and are disabled, the primary adapter is active, but the other says Disabled Adapter, and do not understand that in the device manager are the two ... Well, I started aa look everywhere solutions and had not, they said that previous drivers again, what I did, but none worked, none tell me the option for CrossFireX ... try using a single CrossFireX bridge but does not work, update the BIOS of my motherboard is a MSI DKA790GX Platinum, and I do not see any option to enable CrossFireX, uninstall video card drivers, use Driver Sweeper to remove the root ATI drivers, and install new ones, and try the old and I do not work ... and do not know what else people did it all, yesterday was Saturday from 2 pm until 1 am and I still can not solve the problem, I need help getting to ride these two video cards, not how , probe around as you can see, and I can not think of anything more!!!
please if anyone can help me, I would be grateful now!
    My PC specifications:
Motherboard: MSI DKA790GX Platinum, GPU's: MSI ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB x2, RAM: 4GB RAM Dual-Channel Kingston, CPU: AMD Phenom x3 8650, Power Supply: Cooler Master 750W Plus, x2 Samsung 500GB Hard Disk x2 Western Digital 500GB Hard Disk , RAID 5 System Mounted

Well folks, I have all things settled, the final version I have served for the AMD Vision Engine Control Center was the 11.12 version of the Radeon drivers, which let me install all your applications, also I did a change in Bios, I had updated to version 1.G0 and now go to 1.20 which is older, but has no more errors! so here I have all walked to perfection, with gta 4 walk at 60 fps, and later the only thing I need is to buy 4 more GB of RAM, and RAID 5 disk partition I have for windows 7 64 bit, to have all optimized to 64 bits, since all the components of my pc are for use at full 64-bit, ie, would travel faster, for example, more FPS in games!
although I had no answer, and I had about 20 visits, no matter, thank you xD Like
I send greetings to all from Argentina!
    Goodbye!
