MSI B85 G43 Gaming slow downloadspeeds
I've got the B85 G43 mobo, with the Killer E2205 Gigabit LAN controller.
I've tested my connection 5 times with Speedtest, and barely got 10Mbit up & 10Mbit down. I then tested it from the same site, same room, same cable even, on an older PC, and the results were higher.
When I check the speed in Network Center it says 10Mbit on the new PC, and 1Gbit on the 7 year old PC.
What I've already tried;
- Reinstalling drivers official site
- Disabling everything with 'Killer' in its name from startup & services
- This tutorial
- This tutorial to turn it into a Qualcomm
Getting lost here, I've had a lot of hope but download speed always stays the same. Atm I'm downloading BF4 but at a whopping 1MB/s, that takes about 10 hours, really sad. On my old PC I'd get 5 MB/s or even 8 MB/s, which is perfectly acceptable.

I'm now using these drivers, together with forcing it to run at Full Duplex 100Mbit. And it works!
I also bought a new switch, just to be certain. The previous Switch supported 10/100 Mbit, this one 10/100/1000 Mbit. My speed has gone x 10 though, thanks to the drivers (I think)

why not 1000 then, but 100?
your cable is the issue now?

MSI B85-G43 GAMING. Almost without audio
Hi guys !
I just bought a motherboard model B85-G43 GAMING. And I almost have no audio =(
I tried:
- Install the driver that came with the CD;
- Downloaded and installed the latest driver from the MSI website;
- Downloaded and installed drivers from realtek website.
Nothing works... I'm desperate ! I can't find a solution... PLEASE, if anyone could give me a hands up.
Really appreciate !Quote
What would exactly be "RMA the mobo"?
it means to send the board back to reseller or msi for repair/replacement

[MSI B85-G43] Windows freezes watching videos
Hello folks,
My computer is freezing when I watch streams on Twitch and sometimes on Youtube too.
It also happens when I watch movies using Media Player Classic.
I can play games for hours and the system never got stucked.
Can somebody help me?
My specs are:
MOBO: MSI B85-G43 GAMING LGA
PSU: EVGA 500W 100-W1-0500-KR 500W, 80 Plus
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW
RAM: DDR3 Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10B 8GB 1600MHz
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790k 4.0GHz 8MB 4ª Geração LGA 1150
Ps. Sorry for bad english, it's not my main language. :DI was using Windows 8.1, but I formatted my pc and installed win 7 professional.
The problem happens on both OS.
When I get home I'll try to remove my GPU and test only on Intel HD 4600.
In other forums, I told that my Intel HD was not showing on "System Device's", they told me that it's normal, since my motherboard only uses the GTX, but I don't know. In my opnion, this video/stream it's Intel HD responsability.
I also read something about i7-4790k voltage on the BIOS, but I don't have no clue about what voltage it should or should not be. There are some people that had this problem becaus Intel Turbo Boost too, when I get home I'll check that too. -
Slow power on b4 seeing MSI logo (MSI Z87-G43 GAMING)
My question is, why it takes up to 10 seconds to power on before seeing the MSI logo.
My rig boots in Windows 8.1 Pro UEFI mode with RAID, see summary of rig below.
When booting it sometimes takes up to 10 seconds for the MSI screen to appear, the one with the MSI logo. Once the MSI logo appears the boot is fast, usually between 6 to 8 seconds.
Total boot time around 16 seconds
Please help thanks

From the moment this is displayed, it takes just 6 seconds for Windows to be functional. However, it takes around 10 seconds before this appears on the display.
To be clear, or at least for me to be clear, what you see in the screenshot is the BOOT and not the POST, during the actual POST (power on self-test), the user should not see anything on the display.

2.Can MSI VGA Boost feature work with other brand graphics card? or it only work with MSI Graphics card ?
3.If I only play games with out overclocking which board should i buy for worthiness? MSI H87-G43 Gaming or MSI H87-G43
Thank youQuote
1.Is "VGA Boost" feature = overclocking?
Yes, although just a little oc.
Quote
2.Can MSI VGA Boost feature work with other brand graphics card? or it only work with MSI Graphics card ?
Only with MSI vgas of the Gaming series (= even other MSI vgas won't work)
Quote
3.If I only play games with out overclocking which board should i buy for worthiness? MSI H87-G43 Gaming or MSI H87-G43
Choose what you like. Both are H87 boards hence no cpu oc possible anyway. VGA boost is not really worth buying a board for. The Gaming board features other extras like Killer LAN and enhanced onboard sound. -
Hello
I'm planing to buy a new computer set with that motherboard MSI B85-G43 and i5-4460. On official MSI site I read Haswell-Refresh processors
are supported from Bios v3.7. There is my question here. Will the i5-4460 boot with a MSI B85-G43? I mean can I able to enter to BIOS and update it with a new version?
I don't have an older processor which work and supported on 100% on this motherboard. Thanks for answer and I think I will take standard Haswell instead Haswell Refresh. I don't want to have any problems. i5-4570 should be fine.
Anyway or btw. Is RAM memory Crucial Ballistix 2x4GB (BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU) supported on this motherboard? I didn't see them on list (maybe is out of date) so I want to ask before buy.
edit// I found Crucial Ballistix is supported https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/memory/?compatible_with=msi-motherboard-b85mg43 -
Hi there,
It´s my first post here so greetings all I have a question regarding MSI Z87 G43 GAMING motherboard and crossfire. I noticed, a bit too late, that the G43 does not crossfire in a x8/x8 mode! Is this a performance compromiser? I mean, I´ve noticed a great scaling in BF4 with seetings in High (no AA; with SSAO) running the game with a 3 screen display - compared with single card I went from 50-80 FPS to 70-130.
So, if I understand correctly from the board specs, I have one graphic card at x16 and the other x4?
Thanks for your attention.So... I´ve been searching other MSI alternatives towards minimizing the cost of my ignorance. I found MSI Z87-G55 - 3 PCIe 3.0x16. The price is 30€ less than the G45 (110€ vs 140€) and the only visible diference is the network adapter (Realtek® RTL8111G Vs Killer E2205). Can you tell me if this is a good choice?
My specs:
Core i7 4770K
Gskill 2*8GB 1866
SSD Samsung 840
ASUS 7970ghz DCII Top
PowerColor R9280X
Also checked the G55 OC Genie feature in BIOS. I´m currently using that with my G43 and it´s very simple efficient and absolutely stable and trouble free. Is the BIOS in the G55 similar to the G43? Hope you could answer all this m8... sorry for such inquiry :P
Thanks again for your attention -
MSI Z87-G43 gaming + i5 4690K compatibility
hello there
so, i built a new pc a few days ago and i decided to go with these 2 options (msi z87-g43 gaming + i5 4690K)
anyway, i saw that some people have issues and that it's kind of a roll of a dice whether this specific motherboard will boot with the 4690K or not. From what i saw, it depends on the motherboard's manufacture date and if it has a A5/A6 bios version or not.
now, what i'd like to know is; is there a way to check the bios version of the specific motherboard without opening the box? (i'll have my new hardware probably tomorrow)
i'm really thinking about getting another mobo, i'm not sure what i'll do though.. A friend told me, even though it wont have the A5/A6 bios version, it'll probably boot and i'll be able to update it through windows. He also told me there's a really small chance i'll need another cpu to update the bios and then put my cpu on the mobo.. As i said, roll of a dice.
Any advices/tips?Quote from: Nichrome on 01-May-15, 00:25:19
