Msi clock applet error

Whenever I try to open the MSI Clock applet in display properties I get the error that there was a problem with desk.cpl. I have a G4MX440 - dual vga out plus s-video out and I am running Windows 2000 SR-2. 2.4 GHz P4, 1 GB of Rambus memory 20/80 GB hardrives on an Asus motherboard. I also have a seperate video capture card.

g4mx440user,
Tell us what video drivers you are running. I am guessing you used to be running the MSI Drivers and then you switched to the nVidia Drivers.
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. If you remove msicpl.dll it will get rid of the MSI Tabs. Only do that if you are currently running non MSI Video Drivers.

?( did anyone solve the problem with msi clock run32dll error that pups up on winXP. If someone solved the error please answer this post cause I want to use my winXP too.

This problem is most with XP and ASUS mobo
There is no way to fix this, no support from MSI.
I don't understand MSI, this is over 6 months old problem and many customer have ask them to fix this.
Simple statement, even "we can't fix this" would be better than nothing, at least they did dig into it.
IF MSI IGNORES MY PROBLEM, I WILL IGNORE THEM NEXT TIME I UPGRADE, LIFE IS SIMPLE.
There is a good site after all I now use Nvidia drivers, and coolbit to overclock. Coolbits are must better than MSI-Clock, and you are always with newest drivers.
AND I DON'T HAVED TO RELAY ON MSI ANYMORE with driver updates.

• MSI clock/MSI information tabs cause error

Hi all. I have a geforce4 ti 4200. I've tried many of the drivers on the MSI website, but when I am in display properties and try to click on either the 'MSI clock' or 'MSI information' tabs, I get a run a dll as app error and it shuts down the display properties window. When I open it back up, those tabs are gone and only come back when I again close it and re-open it. ?( Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Tim

Tim,
Download the DetonatorFX Drivers from the nVidia Website and install them. Then go in a delete the file msicpl.dll from the Windows Directory.

• MSI 4600Ti MSI clock and info tabs ....

please someone help......
when I right click my desktop and see display properties I cannot click on the MSI INformation or MSI Clock tabs because everytime I do I get a 'Run a DLL as an APP has encountered a problem" error.
I have tried different driver versions including 45.32, 56.72 and 71.89 and none seem to work. I've also uninstalled, run Driver Cleaner and reinstalled and this still hasn't worked........I don't know what else to try and get these two tabs to work.
Please help.
Many thanks.

darier,
You need to go into your Windows Directory and delete the file msicpl.dll and then install the nVidia Drivers of your choice from the nVidia Website. I would use the 41.09s since they were the best I found for the GeForce4 TI's.

• MSI Clock & Information Tabs In Control Panel\Display do not open

I can't open the MSI Information tab and the MSI Clock tab in Control Panel\Display; keep getting the message that "an error occured while trying to run shell32.dll, control-rundll C:\Windows\system32\desk.cpl, display". Other than this, everything else is working perfectly. Any suggestions?

I would also recommend a 3rd party solution. On my 845PE with a GEForce3 Ti200 (MS8851), the system will reboot becuase of drivers problems (XP Pro) when accessing advanced page if I use the MSI controls.
Remoing the controls solves the issue.

• Cannot open msi clock and msi info

hi i am having some small problems with my
mx440-td8x.. when i open the properties for the card i cant open the options msi information and the msi clock. it says: error when the file f:´WINNITsystem32desk.cpl for the controlpanel was opening. what shal i do to fix it?

Guys,
You could go get the latest nVidia Detonator4 Drivers from the nVidia Website. Then you can delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows directory.
For the extra features:
Use notepad to make a new file and put in it what I quoted below and then save it with the .reg extension.
Quote
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARENVIDIA CorporationGlobalNVTweak]
"Coolbits"=dword:ffffffff
"NvCplEnableAGPSettingsPage"=dword:00000001
"NvCplEnableAdditionalInfoPage"=dword:00000001
"NvCplEnableClearViewPage"=dword:00000001
Double Click on it and it will make an entry into your registry.
That will open all the extra options in the Detonator4 Drivers including the Core and RAM Speeds for your GF4.

• No MSI info and MSI clock speed flags in display properties

My problem is really curious. Several days ago I bought new harddrive and made clear instalation of Win98 SE. After that I installed VIA 4 in 1, on-board audio drivers, the new DirectX and then DetonatorXP drivers for my G4 Ti 4600. My problem is that in display properties I miss two flags descrabing my nVidia card - MSI information and MSI clock. System has detected card correctly. In advanced display properties I can adjust OpenGL and Direct 3D settings, AA settings, etc.
My system is stable in every game and benchmarks, so it means that card works correctly. Powerstrip detects core and memory speeds correctly, under adapter options in this program I see 128 MB video memory, AGP 4x enabled, fastwrites enabled - everything is correct.
But in display properties I do not see MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Why ??? I have also reinstalled VIA 4 in 1 and Detonator XP drivers - it did not help.
Before byuing my new harddrive (80 GB Seagate,7200rpm) I had 30 GB IBM,5400rpm. Windows 98 SE installed on this harddrive detects card correctly too including MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Now I miss it. Any idea ???
On both harddrives I have installed DetonatorXP 29.42 then I have updated to 30.82
My system:
MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
1,33 GHz Athlon T-bird
512 MBRAM
G4 Ti 4600
80 GB Seagate BarracudaIV 7200rpm
Win98 SE

I installed the MSI Drivers from the MSI cd. All ok but the clock and info tabs were missing. I upgraded the driver from msi site to 3000 and no tabs.
X(
Before the GF4 i had a gf2 and i realized i forgot to uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the new card's drivers. I uninstalled them and reinstalled the msi driver 3000. But no clock nor info tabs.
Can someone help me? Are those tabs needed?
I'm using xp pro, intel p4 1.8 on motherboard intel d850md, 1gb ram.
Also the 3d turbo experience gives me msivga.ocx initialization error.
Thanxs.

• MSI Clock panel in Dislpay Properties

Hi,
I have an MSI Starforce 8831. I am running Windows XP Professional without the service pack.
I installed the latest drive from the MSI website and I have been having BSOD's while playing Dungeon Siege ever since. I replaced the driver with the regular driver from Nvidia but my display properties still has the MSI clock and MSI information tabs. When I clock either of the tabs I get an error message.
Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 000016e9
How do I get rid of the tabs from Display Properties? Please help me out.

I think u need to delete the msicpl.dll file to get rid of those tabs.

Help!
I've just install ti4200 128mb. Everything runs fine, 3d mark even showing 9300+
However, everytime I try to go to the MSI clock and information tab under display properties, I get a Microsoft reporting Error!
I've tried this at W2k and also failed!

I think its the motherboard, any ideas?!
Thanks in advance.

What's all talk about install other drivers ?.
This is old problem if you would check some old threats.
Problem lies in ASUS mobo, nothing can fix this, yet.
If you have ASUS mobo, use 40.41 Nvidia drivers with Coolbit to overclock you want be sorry.
There is nothing in this flips that you miss.
MSI support knows about this problem you can try to send them note, but they will not response.
MSI support is one of the worst I have ever tried.
Like you everthing else runs great. I would be more unhappy about there is no hardware monitoring for G4ti, I thougt first it was in this flips but they only support it for G4 MX cards. Don't know whey but I'm very angry and I will never get another MSI card.

• MSI INFO & MSI CLOCK

After numerous problems since installing my GeForce FX500 Ultra 256DDR I decided to Reinstall Windows XP.
The drivers have loaded correctly (Thank You!), BUT I have found another problem ;(
In the Display Settings it shows the 2 tabs : MSI Info & MSI Clock. When I click on either of them I get a error message pop up which states:
"You are Trying to run a DLL as an Application", which then asks me to send an error report to Microsoft and closes down the 2 tabs.
Why is this happening ?(
Man I get fed up with problems.

zero.TA,
I will walk you though this:
1) Delete the file msicpl.dll from your Windows Directory.
2) Download the latest DetonatorFX Drivers from the nVidia Website.
3) Install the DetonaotrFX Drivers
4) Use notepad to make a new file and put in it what I quoted below and then save it with the .reg extension.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARENVIDIA CorporationGlobalNVTweak]

"NvCplEnableAdditionalInfoPage"=dword:00000001
"NvCplEnableClearViewPage"=dword:00000001
5) Run the file you just created and it will add itself to your Windows Registry.
That will open all the extra options in the DetonatorFX Drivers including the Core and RAM Speeds for your GFFX.

• Could not launch ObjectEditor in MSIE - Internal Server Error 500

Hi there,
I have developed a xApp with the help of the tutorial "My first xApp" and I failed accessing the UI pattnern of the ObjectEditor
using the MSIE. The error page says "500 Internal Server Error".
Strangely enough, it was possible launching the ObjectEditor in the Firefox Browser, however Firefox hides certain buttons,

Can anyone tell me, what the following error message means, that was displayed in the MSIE? How can solve the problem?

Hello Bertram,
I had not created or edited any messages, and after the first Build there did not exist any WebDynpro Component in the project tree, thus, there is no Message Pool as described on the help page that you recommended. What messages do you mean?
It is really strange that I can invoke the ObjectEditor through
...webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/caf~UI~ptn~objecteditor/ObjectEditor
(blank page with one button showing "Close"), but not the ObjectEditorConfig nor the ObjectBrowserConfig.

• Load Applet Error on Sun SPE Pages

Please note the lower case in "multiselect.class". This class is however available in idmclient.jar. Is this a known issue ? Please help out.
The list does become available when I change the field's display class from "MultiSelect" to "Select". I would assume this is some problem specific to the MultiSelect implementation class.
Thanks,
Srinivas

I suspect the culprit is the codebase setting. As you already know the multiselect class exists in the IDMCLIENT.JAR. The codebase setting is telling it to look in the specified path...where i suspect the jar file does not exist...remove the codebase setting or set it for the correct path.
Hope this helps...
