MSI Control center windows 8.1 fan settings reset after reboot.

I wanted to see if anyone has any information about this. I have a z77a-gd65 motherboard running windows 8.1 and I have saved profiles for cpu fan and sys1/sys2 fans. After reboot the fan curves get reset to factoy defaults.
I didn't have this problem with windows 7 and am running the latest version of Control Center.
Is there a fix for this?  Thanks in advance.

I actually did find a response from MSI in a random query.
They said, 'CC is used for temporary changes, use the bios'.
Which I can see the validity of that statement, but at the same time, what if you want to adjust things to a finer degree than the bios and want it applied after restart?
I know you can save and load individual pages of the Command Center, but still..
I do find it VERY irritating I can't set fan speeds lower than 50% for the System Fans. (or is there a way to do this?)

  • Yosemite Notification Settings Reset After Reboot

I searched this issue and couldn't find a similar question. This makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong. On each of my five computers running Yosemite (brand new and older Macs) after I reboot, all of my preferences for the Notification center go back to default settings. So if I say Facebook should not be in the Notification center and I deselect any banners or alerts, etc., as soon as I reboot, BAM! Facebook is right back there in the Notification center notifying me like there's no tomorrow. This is mostly annoying (unlike my wifi issues!!!), but I'm pretty sure the settings should stay put.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi there JAS_66,
It looks like the OS X 10.10.1 update addresses this issue. Take a look at the release notes below for more information.

  • Calendar Settings reset after reboot

    Hi,
Could anybody please check if you have the same issue on your phone?
Sony Calendar resets settings after reboot.
For example, if I set "Week starts on" = "Monday" and reboot the phone, this settings will be back to "Sunday" (which is the default).
I am now running Calendar 20.0.A.2.5, but I believe this bug was there before as well (even on my old Xperia V, I believe)
P.S. I found this topic, but either I didn't understand the solution correctly or it doesn't work for me... I tried to disable the Calendar app, but it didn't help in any way...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I will forward this internally for further investigation. I will update you as soon as i have more information.
But as a possible workaround, i suspect you have selected a country/region under Settings -> Language & input -> Language where the week normally is set to start on Sunday like English US? If you are in the Netherlands but want the phone on english you could try setting it to English UK instead to avoid this until i have more information.

  • Settings reset after reboot of device

Well, I found out today that when I reboot my device the normal way (volume down and sleep/wake), my device totally reverts it's settings. This is includes music settings, to my wallpaper, to accessibility.
What's interesting is it's stuck on my settings I had prior to the 1.1 update..so it has sound check on, the zen sand wallpaper I chose, the equalizer I chose, everything.
Anyone else get this or is this another bug?

You would have to drag them back onto the nano from your library. If you have tracks you got from other libraries, you would have to get access to those libraries again to drag them over.

  • Hot Corner Settings reset after reboot

    Hi,
my settings for the hot corners are reset to default (that is nothing) every time I reboot my mac. I have no idea why this is so. Any suggestions?
    Thx
    JaTo

    OOPS! MY MISTAKE, SORRY!
I think those are stored in the com.apple.dock.plist file in Preferences. If you trash it you will lose your Dock settings also. Worth a try though.
Actually moving it to the desktop is a better idea. Then if it is not a solution you can always move your original dock file back and relogin.
There is also a possibility the info is stored in com.apple.finder.plist but I am not sure.

  • 10.6.7 - Audio Settings Reset after reboot & plist missing

    Hey all,
I have a mac pro and I'm having an odd issue similar to http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10412664-263.html.
I set my settings on the sound preferences. Once I reboot the sound setting resets.  It seems to be a preferences issue and as the article states its' located here:
Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > Audio
    The files will be:
    com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
    com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
Unfortunately, I'm unable to locate these files for whatever reason they are long longer on
    Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > Audio or  <home directory> Library > Preferences > Audio.
I thought it was find i'll just move it from the new macbook pro with 10.6.7 but that computer also doesn't have these files anymore.
    Question:
    Where are these files

On my computer, those 2 plist files are right where you indicated.   Are you sure you looked in the right place?  Did you use spotlight to search?

  • Looking for MSI Control Center Tutorial for overclocking i7 2600K

Please, I am looking for a Detailed TUTORIAL for overclocking With MSI Control Center an I7 2600K on P67A-GD55 motherboard.
    Thank you.

Quote from: Bernhard on 18-October-12, 14:39:08
Intel absolute max is 100C, but for 24/7 continuous temps 70 to 80C under full load is a sensible.
My personal comfort zone is around 70C. I use Prime95 to see where the temps top out. As long as that is 80 or below, I am happy, as I know that no program that I use stresses the CPU 100% all the time.
The only time I made sure that I stayed at 75 max was when I was folding. That pushes the CPU to 100%. I ran my 2600K for one year continuous and the core temps were always between 65 and 75 at 4,5GHz, my core voltage was at around 1,35V. That CPU still has no issue.
    Thank you for your feedback.
In fact, I'm looking for how to proceed with MSI Control Center to achieve the optimal settings for overclocking.
What are the steps to increase the multiplier and possibly increase the voltage?
Then, indeed, I think it will be better to enter these overclocking settings in the bios.

  • Z77A-GD65 + MSI Control Center (version 2.5.053) = FAN speed control issue

    OK,
I've got Z77A-GD65 board and I am using MSI Control Center (version 2.5.053). I have one fan connected to CPU fan header and another fan connected to System Fan1 header on the motherboard. The problem is that while trying to use Smart fan control in MSI Control Center (under Green Power tab) only CPU fan changes speed according to load and the one connected to System Fan1 always stays at the same "System Fan1 Min" set speed. In BIOS the system fan1 is set to auto as all other options are constant speed from 50% to 100%, both fans have 4 wires, so they can change speed. I want both fans to change speed according to CPU load. I know I can use Y (split) cable to connect both fans to the same CPU fan header but I would like to avoid this if possible.
Anybody experiencing the same thing? Issue with bios? Control center bug?

As long as the amps of the two fans doesn't exceed the limit for the CPU fan header, go ahead and use a splitter. Not positive, but believe the fan header amp limit is 1A?

  • MSI Control Center and 990FXA-GD80

    So howdy do!
So, as we all know, the 990FXA-GD80 limits your volts at something like 1.45x or something silly.. some protection nonsense. So overclocking is very limited CPU wise.
So, it came to me that one could use MSI control center where it doesn’t limit the volts, i installed it lastnight, havnt messed with it yet, but you can give the processor alot more volts. Compared to the BIOS.. I know its better to do OC's from the bio's, but, MSI doesnt want us to with this board.
So what are the good, the bad, about doing it from the control center? I have never used it before and would like to give my cpu more juice and higher clocks. Is there a thread about using it somewhere ?
    Thank you kind Sirs

From my experience, CC has worked pretty good.
But there are two issues. One is simple; each time you start windows, you have to start CC and apply the overclock.
The second is more complicated. When the CPU was under load and presumably reached a certain temp, CC would nerf the multiplier (from what ever it was to 7x).
This is basically unacceptable in terms of performance. I personally used CC for the longest time, as I would overclock and control the fans with ease.
But, the unstable performance and constant need to apply the profile became unbearable.
I considered selling it and moving to a competitor. But that was to much of a hassle. So I didn't.
After messing around in the bios, I was able to create a work around for controlling the voltages. It's kinda tedious, but not as tedious as applying the overclock each time you enter windows.
I observed when ever I cleared the cmos the voltages were able to be set above 1.44v. So I saved that clean bios via the overclocking profiles.
Then when I entered the bios afterward -- the voltage would be reset to auto. I would then load the overclocking profile. This would reset the voltage to allow over 1.44v again.
When you increase the voltage to 1.5v, you can save that to a new overclocking profile. Then you save the bios, and reset the computer.
The bios wont be entered again, thus, you will be running on that new voltage until you enter the bios again.
When you do enter the bios again, you'll have to load the overclocking profile to access the "unlocked" voltages. Simple bump the voltage to 1.52 and repeat the process. Once your CPU is stable.
You'll never notice your bios had locked the voltage.
    I hope that makes sense.

  • MSI control center is reading GPU voltage as 0.000V and frequency NA???

So when i did the re-install of windows and got everything back up and working, windows did not ask me to install the on-board video drivers and i currently have it disabled anyhow as i have pny gtx 660ti that i'm using, but in MSI control center it say GPU voltage 0.000V and if you go mini control center for sensors and temps it say GPU frequency NA, is this the on-board stuff it is looking for or is this for my video card i don't quit understand as my video card is working A ok.

This application is old might need an update, I doubt it will.
Enable the IGP, uninstall the software you installed and the driver, reboot and disable it see if the problem go.
What do you need control center for?
You are corect it was not the driver it was just MSI control center freaking out again OMG i'm ditching it i don't need it.

basically yes, unless your ME version is somehow corrupted,
or when bios was flashed your ME wasn't updated
if issue persist reflash the bios to the one that i linked you,
its still newest than 2.12 and will include proper ME update,
so you will know that issue isn't there after reflashing

install reinstall ME drivers from MSI web for your board:

I had similar problems. I resolved them removing all pci cards and battery also. Turn pc on without any cards on pci slots until windows boots.

  • MSI control center says MSI P67A-C45 is not supported, but it is on the cd?

    Hi Guys,
I'm having a very annoying issue with the MSI control center on my MSI P67A-C45.
When I try to run it says the motherboard is not supported, but the software was downloaded from MSI website under my motherboard model.
Another thing is that the Intel Management Engine Driver didn't run the installation saying my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements? I'm running Windows 7 x86, core i5 2500K and 8GB ram
    Any tips?

  • MSI Control Center CLI?

    Hi,
I could not find much information about the "MSI Control Center" software coming with the MSI mainboard. As far as I understand, it allows to change some voltage and frequency parameters within the OS without actually altering the BIOS. I guess therefore that the changes apply at most to a Windows session and as soon as the computer is restarted the changes are gone. But do you know whether the MSI Control Center process has to be active in order for the changes to be maintained, in other words whether closing the Control Center application restores inmediately the values of the parameters to BIOS values?
In addition, I thought it would be nice to have different profiles stored and activate them depending on the activity performed (transcoding...) and its associated requirements. Do you know whether is possible to invoke the Control Center within the command line with some parameters to load and activate a particular profile?
Thank you very much in advance for the help!

    Ok, thank you, Badboy!
So if I understand correctly, there is no manner to automatically load the profile when starting a particular program (such as by invoking in a batch file the "control center" with the right parameter -for instance, "ControlCenter.exe -load c:\MyProfile.pfl", before calling the particular program), and in any case, you don't recommend it because "Control Center" is more a testing program than one to regularly use in order to change parameter values.
I had asked because I though it would be an easier alternative compared to having to get into BIOS to select a profile depending on the type of activity, and also (probably this no longer applies to current systems) because I had heard one should not rewrite the ROM where the BIOS is stored too often because it got damaged with too much writing actions.
