Where can I find new version of firmware for MSI Digi Player 600 1GB MP3 Player ?

Mine is black version..
I have been looking here on official MSI site, but this model isnt listed at all as a mp3 player product? There isnt anything on it.. so I am little bit confused.. I just bought it today.
And I dont know why, it seems transfer between pc and the player is kinda slow like usb 1.1, and i do have usb 2.0 ports and everything else works fine.

It is listed on the UK site as it appears that is the only place they are available. You may need to contact MSI UK to see if they have any updated files as they don't seem to have them on the web as yet.
Why do you feel it needs new firmware?

I've newly tried out my Digi Vox. I'm delighted with the AV quality however, I have to say I'm not at all impressed with the software.
my 2.606 version player subtitle options doesn't work and the first time I run it I got a blue screen. (I've newly install my XP and updates 2 days ago after 2 yrs of flawless operation for - about time for a maintenace) The remote control is plain annoying, very slow response. EPG doesn't work most of the time. Crashes if you flip across channel too frequently and the Portable antenna, absolutely useless.
I've tried to use Twinhan software which works well, functionality is exactly the same since they are the OEM. All features were fully functional and the remote control delay shorter. No EPG problem and no crashes.
However, on most channel apart from BBC, the video jitters and skips which make it unwatcheable sometime. So I've to switch back to MSI version 2.606 to get back the smooth reliable AV transmission sacrificing the subtitle & a temperamental EPG options.
The recording is superbly sharp. CPU usage very low.
The latest BDA driver is v1.0.4.7 from MSI or Twinhan (search for VP-4075)
I think only two 3rd party PVR software currently support this Digi Vox,
(1) Meedio TV 1.38 and
(2) myTheathre
Can't afford them so will try out Winamp TV plugin next.
If anyone knows of any freeware or trialware that support this little Digi Vox, Pls post it here. I seriously hope MSI development will workharder on the software side. This is a superb kit let down by the software.

Yes, have been trying to get mediaportal to work properly for the pass few days. It is very unstable and kept crashing with error message popping on and off at least on my machine. The audio lags significantly. I've tried all the tricks in their forum.EPG doesn't work. will take some time to sort this out. hence I've not mention about it. Mediaportal is also memory intensive but a nice piece of art if it works.

Whenever I load a driver (old & new) the Windows always say the device might not be working properly. Not sure why. Or have I got a dodgy Digi Vox?
However, myTheatre works perfectly. the video did loss a bit of sharpness and lack features. but its by far the most stable and easy to use. Couldn't get EPG to work either need to gain access to their plugins.

MSI Digi Vox Micro HD on Windows 7 64 bit Laptop

I have a problem with my MSI Digi Vox Micro HD on Windows 7 64 bit. After inserting the cd with the drivers I get a pop up to autorun it. After I clicked Yes the installation didn't start. Instead I'v got an Invalid path error and the autorun froze. I'v had no other options then to install every single program separately for the tuner from the cd. First the Driver, than Arc soft, Media converter, total media running the *setup.exe files from the CD. I'v restarted the Laptop and wanted to configure the tv signal. I'v started the Total media 3.5 application and went to Setup->TV menu. There was this option: Select "Next" to begin configuring your TV signal (NEXT/Cancel). At any time I'v tried I get "The device cannot be detected or it is not supported." This device should be compatible with windows 7 (it is advertised so). How come these errors occur? What could be the main problem? How can I get my tuner work properly? Please help I'm very disappointed.

Yes, but as you are using 64bit Win7, does the driver CD contain 64bit drivers?

Hi allllz....
i have the new MSI Mega Player 536 and i have some QUISTIONS plez help me to fix it....
1- WHY in the product menu in MULTIMEDIA we found an Video folder ?? is it really that MSI Mega Player 536 able to play VIDEO files ???
2- IF YES !!! so,what type of files that can be played on the MSI Mega Player 536 ?
3- how can i but/convert some Video files i own in my PC in the MSI Mega Player 536 to play it ? (what program and codec to use)
4- i tryd the camtasia movie converter to make a movie to play on the MSI PLAYER put i only saw a BLACK SCREEN flashing and closed again !! why ?

5536 and 5540 can playback avi and .mov video files, but these files codec must be M-JPEG format!!
Please attention: 5536 didn’t playback MP4 or WMV video formats, and also couldn’t reveal these files!!
“Quick Time7 Pro” and ““Canopus ProCoder Demo v1.25” converting software can support 5536/5540 video format (M-JPEG) to playback, but “QuickTime7 Pro” isn’t free, you have to purchase it, and “Canopus ProCoder Demo v1.25” is free, but only can use 30 days. Please go to below website to download it and you have to register and login!!

When you download “Canopus ProCoder Demo v1.25”, please modify file name to “ProCoderDemo_1_25.exe”, then this file just can become execution file, after installation you have to check video and audio codec, have a little trouble, I will explain how do set M-JPEG codec!!

By the way, You can select another sample rate parameter on the audio setting, but you can only choose 10.000 frame rate (fps) on the video setting, this value will influence whether can playback after converting video, so this setting is very importantly!!

I went to Apple Care with this question after a month went by with no posts here. The answer is yes, you don't have to go through the Cloud to get music on your devices. In fact Music Match is not available to libraries with more than 25000 titles. For those of you experiencing what I mentioned above the solution is to backup your contacts, mail, photos etc. that are on your phone, (the tech at Apple directed me to do this to the Cloud), then "restore" the iPhone to its factory settings and import the backup. The restore button is in the opening window when the iPhone is connected in the iTunes program.

No Channels Scanned in USA? MSI DIGI VOX mini II

Bought MSI DIGIVOX mini II in Germany. I believe it is the V.03 and has received DVB-T perfectly throughout the Continent but when I tried to use it back here at home I am not able to scan any channels. I think Sarasota, Florida has DVB-T broadcast so I am at a loss as to why the receiver is not seeing anything out there? Is this unit set to receive only European frequency ranges possibly? If anyone can answer this please accept my thanks in advance!

Nope, you'd need a dongle designed for the US/Canada market (supporting ATSC).
As MSI is based in Taiwan, most of their digital tuners are DVB-T based, as it covers a larger global market. I know we don't normally recommend competitors brands here, but you'd have more joy with a US-based manufacturer for TV tuners suitable for the North American market, such as Hauppauge. However when it comes to DVB-T tuners, MSI's are second to none.

I finally solved "the v2.00.02/v1.672 firmware update problem" [after 20 install/reinstall f*ckups]
[I also tought (at the time) that my player is dead/fried...doesn't matter now dough..]
It's almost funny now how easy I made it to work again with updated firmware..
point is that when you connect it on USB without pressing anything and start updater
and when it says "Media state not initialized" you check "Format" and run it..when completed
unplug it..and then again connect it with play pressed all the time (as described in instructions)..
start updater again with format option checked and wait to complete..thats it!
now finally everything works fine as it should be (v2.00.02)..
P.S. "Questioon" wrote that he didn't figured how to work with playlist..just, when you are in the "playlist", need to press next/previous key for about half a second to navigate through folders (when you copy music to player you put it in folders if you want to use playlist feature)

MSI Mega Player 516

Does anyone know some little about problem that MSI Mega Player 516 dosen't suppoport directory structure, or MSI will add this function to next software ?

Yes a can play all songs from all directories, but a can't browse beetween dir. It is the problem if you had 200 some songs on SD/MMC card + some in internal memory. This is problem that is not suppoprted Directory structure, an I thing it is problem in firmware, a I hope they will build in.

MSI Mega Player 516 as headphones to PC via BT

I have BTtoes and MSI Mega Player 516. I think there is a possibility to use MSI Mega Player 516 as wireless headphones. Problem is with pairing. Can u help me? I have the same problem to use it as handsfree to my mobile Siemens S55.

MSI Mega Player 522BT problems

I just got the new player recently & here's the problem,
When connected to my mobile phone thru bluetooth, my callers always complains the mic pick up is very soft.
Is there anyway to boost the mic pickup?
I've upgraded the firmware of my 522BT to 1.04.00 version & yeat still having this problem.
The phone i'm using is SonyEricsson T610 software version is R6C005.
Is there any accessories (i.e. earphone, mic) on the market that is compatible & works with MSI Mega Player 522BT? the mini earphone jack is 2.5mm dia not the standard 3.5mm dia....

You are not the only one with those problems. I only notice the headset jack is of the mobile phone type instead of the normal audio type, despite the fact I test run it at the counter before making the purchase. It looks like one of those Nokia handphone headset plugs, so I'll try my luck one of these days at the phone accessory shops to get some other stereo handsfree to try out.
The BT headset/handsfree function is neat, but considering this is MSI's second offering of this sort of BT mp3 player (516BT was an earlier version with USB 1.1 pc link), I'm dissappointed with the sound and BT pairing quality of the player. If I keep my phone in my right pant pocket with the player in the left one, the caller will complain about a lot of statics and interferences. At the same time, I can't hear the person talking either. I did the firmware upgrade as well, but guess that's just fixing problems related to the mp3 functions. I do hope MSI tech supports will come up with some fine tuning/adjustments regarding the BT feature. My phone is not listed in the compatible phone list, but they paired, so I think it's not the problem with my phone (O2 Xphone). I tried pairing 522BT to my PC and used as the headset, and the sound quality really requires some attention. Do hope the sound quality is as good as the music playback quality...
As for the music playback, it's quite good. The sound is clear and rich, except the SRS function which I don't really like. To me, it just blurs out the music.

There does not seem to be any new firmware though listed for that device. your going to have to contact MSI for any more info.

MSI Mega Player 516 Firmware

I really hate the fact that this player does not recognize the tags of the media files in it and sort the files and deal with them by ID tags, also the playlist function in the new firmware is very basic and awkward also. every time i want to make a specefic order to an album i have to rename it by track number before track name, will be any improvements ?

2. After firmware unzipping, it will show some files, please replace driver installation files (C:\Program Files\MSI\MS-5516)
3. Please press sustained “play key” first (While mega player can't be recognized by PC please add this procedure), then plug your mega player 516 in your PC.
4. Please go to "start" (below left corner) and enter "programs" and choose "MSI MS-5516" update now!!!
5. After update success, you can release of your finger. (While mega player can't be recognized by PC please add this procedure)
After update firmware still hasn’t solved your issue, please tell me more detail narration for what to do...

MSI Mega Player 538...

I'm sorry for a bit of a repost...
Has anyone here tried using 1GB MMC or SD flash card with the MSI Mega 538 (or 533 player)??? Which card?
I have a MEGA 538 (it looks preety much exactly the same as MEGA 533), and a 512MB MMC card to go with it... I'd like to buy 1GB card, but I'm unsure could/would anty damage occur to the card/player if I were to insert 1GB card into the 538 (because the manual lists 512MB as the limit).
I'm asking this because I used to have the same dillema back when I was buying Nokia's N-Gage... It also stated in the Nokia's manual 256MB MMC size as the limit, but as it turned out worked with a 512MB card... Are there 1GB cards out there that would work fine with 538/533?!

Another day, another ideas... But still can't find a solution ! I've searched the net for infos and:

On this blog Michael Swanson has the similar problems with usb 2.0. He solved it by buying another usb card. But I won't do it. I think the problem is more involved, than just downloading drivers. I've tried a lot of drivers but the result is nothing more than a freezing windows . So I give it up, waiting for smarter people helping me out...

MSI mega player 533 - quick question

I have an MSI 533 MEGA PLAYER with 256mb integrated memory (without fm) , i have upgraded the firmware to a newer version in january06 (dont know wich version ) , and everything works fine.
Now, i would like to buy a Secure Digital card with 2048MB (Kingston) for it , but i have read somewhere that the player cannot read very large memory cards , but it doesnt say HOW LARGE ! ( if that is true at all )
SO , my question is how much more memory can i put into my mp3 player ? i would like to put as much as possible ! 1 gb is fine but 2 is better.
are all manufacturers SD cards compatable with the 533?

In the past I had tried to use “Kingmax” and “Sandisk” 2GB SD card, and those cards can be worked well on 5533, so 5533 is supposed to support 2GB SD/MMC card, but it must be latest F/W version v2.00.02, if your 5533 is not, please follow below procedure to update!!
MS-5533 firmware update process: (Don't put battery)
1. Please download and install the latest firmware (V2.00.02) and driver (V1.672)!!

MSI Digi Vox USB 2.0 DVB-T TV Tuner

Hello,
I've bought this TV tuner card today & already spend hours trying to make it work properly... Without any success though. The problem is that after getting a list of all available channels I can preview them I can even choose a channel to watch but... But if I make that decision I cannot switch to any other channels without restarting an application. If I try doing it without restarting DVB-TV 2.6 it keeps getting me the same error message "Fail to play program". I don't have to say that not all of the found-by-the-software channels can be watched through this tv tuner, most of them end with a same error message. I've tried my usual and the newest drivers for both graphic & sound cards (Intel Extreme Graphics - 845, VIA AC'97 Audio). Any ideas what to do with this problem?
