  • MSI display properties

I just installed a new FX5600XT VTDR 128 on a K7T266 Pro motherboard. I installed the VGA card driver with the disk delivered with the VGA card.
The problem is that I don't have the MSI Information tab and the MSI clock tab in the Windows based display properties.
I did a live update off the VGA drivers and the drivers off the motherboard, but that did not change anything.
    Pls Help

I used to have that problem..you may download as much times the latest nvidia drivers that it won't change..thing is the drivers you installed from the cd which was the same thing it occured with me I tryed uninstalling them from the device manager or driver cleaner and it just didn't do no good..the best thing you have to do is install a new copy of windows and run live update monitor so it selects the drivers and you install it. That should solve the problem.

  • MSI tabs in Display properties

whenever i try to use the msi tabs in the display properties i get this error
Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close.
and when i click on the button to see what data the error report contains i get this information
    AppName: rundll32.exe    AppVer: 5.1.2600.0    ModName: msicpl.dll
    ModVer: 1.0.0.1    Offset: 00004261
I am running winxp and have re-installed it a few times to see if that would fix the problem, then i tried taking the card out and putting it back in, but no luck either, I have the newest drivers as well and nothing works,
    any idea anyone???

    Hi guys,
I posted something about this exact problem...
    Hi everyone...
I just bought an MSI GF4 TI-4200 128 and have the same problem. Running XPPro, fresh install. I was running MSI GF3 TI-200 64 before with same OS and had no problems with either the properties and the MSI Live Update 2. Now, when I try and access the MSI properties in the Display properties, I get that same error (see at beginning of thread) and the window will close. When I try and use the MSI Auto Update, I get the vbios.dll could not be loaded or found... (or something similar) and can't use the Update. I "bypassed" the problem by loading the NVIDIA drivers instead of the MSI ones and it works like a charm now...
I am pretty sure that the MSI drivers would have worked anyhow but I have'nt tried them. BTW, I can access the NVIDIA properties no problem!
I will also send a request to MSI to let them know that I am now aware of this "known" problem and am awaiting a fix for this... I will also check with ASUS for a motherboard compatibility issue.
    XPPRO fully patched
MoBo Asus P4B-533 (latest bios, 1007 I think)
    512 DDR-2100
    Sound Blaster 128
    Maxtor 40gigs 7200
    Intel P4 1.7
    PS 300W Antec
    etc...etc...
To Moderators:  Is there a fix for this and if not, could you let me know (by link, email or post) what could be the problem (i.e.: ASUS moBo.)?  I am quite content on using NVIDIA drivers but still, my inquisitive nature is acting up...
I haven't tried yet but will I be able to Flash my VGA bios if I have that problem? (is this VGA card related or a compatibility issue with something else?)

  • No MSI info and MSI clock speed flags in display properties

My problem is really curious. Several days ago I bought new harddrive and made clear instalation of Win98 SE. After that I installed VIA 4 in 1, on-board audio drivers, the new DirectX and then DetonatorXP drivers for my G4 Ti 4600. My problem is that in display properties I miss two flags descrabing my nVidia card - MSI information and MSI clock. System has detected card correctly. In advanced display properties I can adjust OpenGL and Direct 3D settings, AA settings, etc.
My system is stable in every game and benchmarks, so it means that card works correctly. Powerstrip detects core and memory speeds correctly, under adapter options in this program I see 128 MB video memory, AGP 4x enabled, fastwrites enabled - everything is correct.
But in display properties I do not see MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Why ??? I have also reinstalled VIA 4 in 1 and Detonator XP drivers - it did not help.
Before byuing my new harddrive (80 GB Seagate,7200rpm) I had 30 GB IBM,5400rpm. Windows 98 SE installed on this harddrive detects card correctly too including MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Now I miss it. Any idea ???
On both harddrives I have installed DetonatorXP 29.42 then I have updated to 30.82
    My system:
    MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
    1,33 GHz Athlon T-bird
    512 MBRAM
    G4 Ti 4600
    80 GB Seagate BarracudaIV 7200rpm
    Win98 SE

I installed the MSI Drivers from the MSI cd. All ok but the clock and info tabs were missing. I upgraded the driver from msi site to 3000 and no tabs.
     X(
Before the GF4 i had a gf2 and i realized i forgot to uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the new card's drivers. I uninstalled them and reinstalled the msi driver 3000. But no clock nor info tabs.
Can someone help me? Are those tabs needed?
I'm using xp pro, intel p4 1.8 on motherboard intel d850md, 1gb ram.
Also the 3d turbo experience gives me msivga.ocx initialization error.
    Thanxs.

  • Msi ti 4200 problems

i installed a msi 4200 agp video card today and have had nothing but problems. on the first boot xp did not try to install new hardware. In the display properties it did not recognize the video adapter. i tried to intsall the drivers from the installation cd but it said it was not the right files and did not recognize the path. on the second reboot no picture after windows boots. i have a gigabyte mb ga-7vrxp and am upgrading from a pci video card. any help would be much appreciated.

Thatz Y... I won't switched to XP until it has really settle down...
lambethduke, I know where you've got things wrong and its a common mistake as I have accidentally did it myself before ... You must have direct right click on your Display adapter driver and un-install... This will cause the screen to go blank during startup whenever you wanna install the drivers again, though you may be able to see part of the windows starting up... Next time, juz un-install the driver by double clicking on the driver and inside the profile click on un-install and this problem will never exist to you anymore...
    All the Best... :D!!!

  • Cannot set resolution with gnome-display-properties

    Hey all!
After full system update my external display does not get detected/recognized properly by gnome-display-properties
Though before upgrade it worked just fine!
Tried to downgrade hal and xorg-server but without any success.
    Any ideas how to fix?
    Thanks!

I have the same problem. I do, like You, own a ASUS P4S8X motherboard and a MSI (Ti4800SE-VTD8X(MS-8900))videocard.
Because it was a brand new system i installed everything from scratch, so installed the MSI drivers for the videocard. Afterwards i thought i that it would be better to download the latest nvidia drivers. Since that time i have the same problem with the property settings of the videocard, Ghost Recon (original and supplied version) does not work anymore as goes for liveupdate of msi.
There is a solution but i think it is CRAP. You have to uninstall nvidia drivers and reinstall the original msi drivers.... bla bla bla... Why is it that there are a lot of known errors with msi/nvidia drivers in conjuntion with the liveupdate, supplied games and with the settings?? I would like to see a (driver)update from msi which is for mortals. I'm not the hacking and phreaking guy, and so are more. I have spent a fortune on this card so MSI get started!!!!!!

  • Big MSI RX9800Pro-TD128 problem

    Hi everyone!
I am a proud owner of a Radeon 9800Pro (MSI RX9800Pro-TD128) and I've got an issue that looks very much (or exactly) like this:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/IvanV/shot0000.jpg
If you failed do recognize it, this is a screenshot from 3DMark03 GT4. It happens with all driver versions I tried (from MSI and from ATI). It used to happen only in GT4, so I wasn't to concerned, but now it also happens in HL2 when AA and AF are turned on (which is also strange, because I didn't use 3D Mark with AA and AF). The card is not overheating and works fine in other situations. My system:
    CPU: AMD Athlon64 3000+
MB: MSI K8T Neo (VIA K8T800 chipset)
RAM: 512MB DDR 400MHz Kingston ValueRAM etc...
    Windows 2000 Professional with SP4, DX 9.0c

Today, after months of having this issue, I solved the problem. Still, I don't understand why this worked, so please someone explain it to me. I found two solutions:
    1) Change AGP aperture size to 256MB. Since I have only 512MB of RAM, things got a bit less smooth, so I was thinking, since things did work from time to time, and guided partly by memory and partly by instinct I
    2) returned AGP aperture size to 128MB, and removed desktop wallpaper, screensaver, custom Windows appereance in Display Properties and it also worked.
I retested all variations several times to make sure, and right now I have little doubt that this is a permanent solution. I only don't know why, so if anyone could tell me, I'd really appreciate it.

  • 6600gt display properties not showing nvidia

This is my first nvidia card and I can't get the display properties to change so that the MSI clock and information shows on it. What am I doing wrong? I just got it today and can not figure out what I did wrong.

I had the same problem, here is how I resolved this issue. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few weeks ago I had posted that the DOT tabs on my display properties had vanished and being the smart guy that I think I am the only way of resolving this issue was to uninstall SP2. After removing SP2 my DOT tabs were back, I chalked this up to another program that wouldn't function correctly with SP2, I also posted to another forum member who had a similar problem and offered my advice as to resolving this issue.
I would like to apologize to anyone who may have taken my advice and uninstalled SP2 to recover the vanishing DOT tabs. I can promise anyone who cares that before posting again I will do a better job of fixing my own before I try to fix yours.
If you haven't fallen asleep yet reading this I will tell you how I solved this problem. I reformatted my drive reinstalled XP Pro with SP2, updated all drivers, my system and my DOT tabs are functioning happily together.

  • Can't change displayed properties in resource renderer

    Hello everybody!
I'm trying to do display a very simple list of filenames in a KM navigation iView. I've assigned a layout set, which references a collection renderer and a resource renderer. In the resource renderer, "Visible Properties" is set to rnd:displayname(contentlink).
But still I get a list with filename, file size and timestamp. No matter what I put in the "Visible Properties" field, the same thing is displayed.
I've verified that the layout set references the correct resource renderer by changing other attributes ("Command Display", for instance), and these changes do have an effect.
Any ideas what might be the problem here?
One more thing. This iView is a dynamic navigation iView. How can I make the documents open in the content area of the portal instead of in a new window?
Any help is very much appreciated.
    -martin

    Hi Martin,
seems like you have selected a collection renderer for "structured output", like the grid or tree collection renderer. In this case the collection renderer is the one who is responsible of the properties displayed.
So what you have to do is edit the parameter "Displayed Properties" of your collection renderer with the properties you want to display.
Check this <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=28751">link</a> for more info about "unstructured vs. structure coll. renderers".
    Hope this helps,
    Robert
PS: The iView Property "Launch in New Window" should be set to "Display in Portal Content Area", in order have the iView displayed as you wish.

  • Displayed Properties in Collection List Renderer are not displayed

    Hello All,
I have created one custom property and entered the value for a resource which had that property.
Now, when I am trying to display the custom property in any layout, its not coming, even though I have added the property name in the Displayed Property of the collection list renderer.
To check the view is taking the correct layout or not, i changed some other settings of the collection list renderer and the changes are immediately getting reflected. What could be the problem here?
    Any help, deeply appreciated
    Regards
    BP

    Hello Bobu,
Are you using a different Namespace Alias other than 'Default' in your property definition? If so then you need to specify the property in the 'Displayed Properties' parameter of the collection renderer as <NamespaceAlias>:<propetrty ID>, e.g. rnd:displayname.
Other than that you should check the 'Folder Validity Patterns' and 'Document Validity Patterns' to make sure they are valid for the content on which you are trying to display this property, you may have already checked this.
    Regards,
    Lorcan.

  • System-config-display, gnome-display-properties - inconsistent R5 U5 64bit

    Hi all,
I have OEL Rel 5 U5 (64-bit) installed and running on an IBM x3200 which has Radeon integrated graphics, with a IBM ThinkVision LCD monitor (1280x1024 max)
Problem I have is eventhough system-config-display lets me select 1280x1024 I can't actually get it to switch. Upon log-off/log-in, reboot, restart, etc... it still returns to 1024x768 mode.
    Running gnome-display-properties only gives me a choice of 1024x768, 800x600, or 640x480.
I've also tried xrandr and trying to force it to 1280x1024 but it tells me I only have the 3 choices given by gnome-display-properties.
My xorg.conf file is configured with 1280x1024, 1024x768, and 800x600 modes, so I'm baffled at where gnome-display-properties and xrandr are getting their mode choices...
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Based on Xorg log I'm guessing the monitor driver just will not support the higher res and apparently that's where 'gnome-display-properties' gets its info regardless of what I try in Xorg.conf.
I'll see if I can manipulate the monitor settings and see where that gets me...
I see the following in the log:

  • Additonal VGA monitor showing in Display properties.

I have a problem, I am currently running Window 7 Pro 64 and when i restarted my laptop it now has an additional monitor showing in the display properties.  I do not have an external VGA monitor connected to it, and I have tried to remove the
display adapters in hopes of remove the additional mystery monitor, but after removal of the display adapter drivers and a reboot the extra monitor comes back.  Can anyone help?

    Hi,
According to your description, the hardware driver is also related to the BIOS of your computer, to confirm this, try to start the computer in safe mode in the way below:
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers
Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
Click the Start button Picture of Start button, click the arrow next to the Shut Down button Picture of Shut Down button, and then click Restart.
    Do one of the following:
Restart your computer, press and hold the F8 key. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the safe mode option you want, and then press Enter.
Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
You can refer to this for more details:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7
If this works for you, the BIOS should be upgraded, go to the official site to upgrade the BIOS  accordingly.

  • How to set Displayed Properties?

I want to set different Displayed Properties for folder and documents in my layout. How can I archieve that?
    Best Regards!

    Hello,
Depending on your requirement, you will have to change your Collection Renderer and Resource Renderer.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/79/a1d23e6b2c3d67e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/87/41389793deac4f92696f38378e56fb/frameset.htm
It seems we have posted at the same time, for your requirement, Resource Renderer should do this.
But if you want to hide some properties which are exisiting on folders! then even Resource Renderer cannot solve this.
As you have one Resource Renderer per <b>flavor</b>, you will set same Visible Properties for both Folder and File. If the property does not exist on Folder/File, it just shows empty property. But you cannot hide exisiting properties depending on if the resource is File/Folder.
Here only a custom implemented Resource Renderer can solve your problem.
    Hope this helps...

  • MSI N9800GX2-M2D1G Problems

Any ideas why this card is behaving weirdly.
First off I can't install no other driver than MSI one. The one I got on CD or on website both are 173.67. Running Windows Vista x64.
On install of any other driver beside MSI the system freezes. And after reboot Standard VGA adapter appears under display properties.
If I install MSI driver it installs fine, I actualy see dual screen setup GPU-Z returns SLI is disabled for the card. After reboot option for secondary monitor is gone and SLI is still disabled according to GPU-Z
In nvidia control pannel whatever I set for single or multimonitor support nothing enables SLI.
Any other options on enabling SLI mode?.
Beside that i have Nvidia Control Panel in local language, any option to change it to English?
Running everything on Vista Ultimate x64:
    ASUS P5K
    C2D E6750
    4GB RAM

Here are the steps for a clean driver unistall:
1.Make sure the entire NVIDIA folder in your root drive (c:\) is deleted.
2.Download the latest driver version again (Beta 175.16), don't install it.
3.Navigate to windows\system32\drivers, and note the date on file nvlddmkm.sys, then open Device Manager.
4.Right-click on your display adapter and choose "uninstall".
5.Select "delete files" when prompted, and restart when prompted into SAFE MODE.
6.Allow safe mode to install the default VGA driver.
