MSI DKA790GX PLATINIUM msi core center bsod on startup win7 x64

i installed core center on win7 x64, i get bsod rushtop64.sys on startup.

Did you see this in the link? Also it's dual-core-center.

• If you are using an ATI graphic card, you must install ver. 8.41 driver and its additional applications to make Dual CoreCenter works normally. It is better to use recommended installation while installing an ATI VGA driver.
But that brings me to my next question, why would you install and use that app anyway?
Hardly anybody does.

  • MSI Core Center problem!!!

I´ve just updated the MSI Core Center to ver 1.6.2.0 because 1.6.1.0 kept increasing and decreasing CPU fan speed all the time, got a bit annoying.
After the install and restart of PC, when Core Center started, the PC automaticly restarted. Only way I can use my PC now is by dissabling Core Center, or going to older ver. but thats not the best solution.
I have passiv coling on NB, but this havent caused problems before, and keeps a normal temp.
MSI, i think u should look tthe Core Center program over, somethings wrong.
Pardon my english (I´m from Sweden).

    hi khinax,
Please give your signature (computer spec).
Why you adjust the fan speed doesn't it run automatically with 3 pin?
Use CC with not much problem.
I use it for DOT with ver.1.6.1.0 which quit better than 1.6.2.0, this is the only software that can communicate with the COreCell.
    Work fine right now.

  • MSI Core Center Gone Crazy!

    Hello.
    I'm using an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum board with an AMD X2 4400+ CPU. (2.2GHz = 200MHz x 11)
    I'm not doing any overclocking.
Core Center worked fine until I installed AMD's Processor Drivers.
I wanted to try Cool'n'Quiet, but benchmarking revealed that the system's performance degraded with it enabled... So I disabled Cool'n'Quiet, and then I notices something weird in Core Center: for some reason the clock speed alternates constantly between 200MHz to 74-45MHz to 327MHz!
This is really bizzare, and even frightening... Could I have damaged something in the CPU?
I tried to uninstall the AMD driver, but the clock speed in Core Center still fluctuates!
Then I installed it again - it didn't help.
Cool'n'Quiet is disabled in BIOS, the Power Scheme is "Always On" and as I said no overclocking is being done.
PS: in CPU-Z the clock speed is stable at 200.9MHz x 11.
Can anyone explain this to me? It's really frightening, I'm afraid that the CPU will burn or something...
    Please help...
    Thanks in advance!

I've uninstalled Core Center. It's just too buggy. But other programs do weird stuff as well; SpeedFan, for example, makes my CPU fan very noisy, and I don't want to control the speed by hand - the motherboard does fine job controlling it automatically.
About Vcore, I'm just asking if 1.30 is the right value, because I've read somewhere in this forum that it's supposed to be 1.40 for 90nm AMD CPUs.
I don't want to overclock; my system is fast enough as it is...
I havn't changed anything the the Core section of te BIOS.
My BIOS version is 1.9, and I've chosen 50 degrees as "Smart CPU Fan Temperatue". choosing 40 degrees makes the fan noisy as a tractor...
Right now the CPU temperature is always about 48 degrees C, and under load it's 50 or even 51 degrees.
Do you get 31 degrees when idle with your 4400+ processor?
What kind of cooling are you using? I'm using the fan that came with the processor... Perhaps switching to a Zalman fan will solve this problem?
Or is my BIOS just reporting wrong temperatures?
PS: SpeedFan reports my Northbridge temperatue as 45 degrees C... Is this too high as well?
    Thanks!

  • MSI Core Center not loading

Anyone have this problem that the Core Center does not load at the start of Windows.?
    Running 365PE-Neo2-P  MS-6728
    Latest bios
    PC Apps:
    WinXP SP2
CA-Antivirus eTrust ezAntivirus from Computer Associates (an MS partner)
    MSI  Live Monitor
    STEAM
    WinAmp
Those are the ones, that appear in the tray.
Then after the desktop gets loaded, the following appears in 3 different messages, and then the system reboots.
I can stop this by removing the Core Center software from the system.
    1st pop-up window from CoreCenter
Failed to load Hardware Monitor Driver !
    2nd pop-up window from Error
The serviice has not been started.
(after acknowledging this window, it loads MSI Live Monitor)
    3rd pop-up window from CoreCenter
    No Hardware Monitor!
    Then it reboots

Had a similar problem after removing one version of core center and installeing a new version. The uninstaller sets the computer to remove some of core centers components after restart so if you install the new version before the restart it removes part of the new installation after restart.
Try uninstalling core center, restarting, reinstalling core center, restarting.
If you get the error message after restart end the core center process in task manager, uninstall core center, restart, reinstall, restart.
If this don't work and you have windows set to auto log on with no users screen disable this and when you boot wait on the users screen for a minute before logging on.

  • MSI Core Center Problem with the software

    Hello all
Just wanted to let you know about a problem i had the other night. You will see my specs below but i recently installed core center and all was running well until 2 nights ago when the pc would start up into windows load up core center and then re-boot. The problem was core center it's self when windows was starting it up for some reason core center decided to overclock my pc i only realised this when i saw a brief glimpse of the CPU speed as core center started it was over 2.6 GHZ no wonder the machine shutdown i eventually got it to boot up and get into core center where i found that this time it was trying to run my machine at a FSB of 215 i reset this back to 200 and the re-booting stopped i decided to just un-install core center to save any further problem.
Have any of you guys had this problem and how many are having a similiar problem but don't realise it thinking it is the cpu or heat related just thought i would let you know about this in case anyone does have a similiar problem
    Cheers everyone

i didn't even install it to tweak or overclock i was only using it to monitor my temps etc. seeing as it came on the installation disk did look at the overclocking features of it but after looking at them  i returned to the default settings prefering if and when i try overclocking to do it through the bios. I was surprised as anyone that core center decided it was going to overclock my system on it's own,  Maybe it's become self aware LOL
I just put this thread up in case anyone else has it installed and has similiar problems as i did so they can check to see if this is their problem thought it might be helpful as i know lots of people do have problems and find there way here looking for help

  • Core center problem at startup

I recently installed a new soundcard (Audigy2ZS) and it's been causing problems with core center i guess?  When ever windows starts up it says "Servive has not been started"  followed by "No Hardware Monitors".  But when I load Corecenter individually it's fine.  Any ideas?

its a common software conflict ... to solve
run msconfig ... go to the startup tab .. disable the sbdrvdet ... (i think its called that) ... to stop it loading ... i believe its to do with firwire .. so not really required ... msi software should then run ok

  • MSI Core Centre ANNOYING!!!!!

Ok i recently upgraded the cooling on my amd 64 3700 sandiego be cause i found that the stock heatsink and fan sucked. so i purchased a Gigabyte G-Power pro. This is a great cooler and cools the cpu much better however i have found that since i have imstalled it MSI Core Centre keeps popping up from the system tray and making teh alarm noise, now i don't know why it does this because all the temps voltages and speeds are fine, and no overclocking has been done, it isn't even highlighting the bit thats supposed to be causing the problem, and the alarm will stop after a few seconds. but it's really annoying when playing a game and your whole game mnimizes and core centre pops up      i have installed the latest version too. pls help

I don't use corecenter while gaming, but maybe you can edit the HW.ini file in "C:\Program Files\MSI\Core Center"
It lists all the settings for fan speed limits etc. , maybe your new fan drops below the minimum setting which is at 1000 by default.
Or some other setting that influences this.
Have you btw speedfan running at the same time?Because when in that program the wrong fan divider is set corecenter also sounds alarm.
I found this when setting a different value for my northbridge fan,my cpu fan dropped to 150 rpm in corecenter, still it maintained the same temperature and ofcourse the fan ran at full speed (3300rpm).

  • New Core Center Ver. 1.6.6.0 Out

    MSI Core Center ReleaseDate: 2004-6-1
    Version 1.6.6.0
    Under,downloads for motherboard-utility

    OK guys.
Seeing you are in and out of live update.
On this machine it recognises the 1.71 bios, and if I click on Live Bios Update the dialog box says there are 3 changes from previous version
"1. This is AMI BIOS release.
    2. This BIOS fixes the following problems of the previous version:
    - Memory always run DDR 200 when install single side DDR on DIMM2 & DIMM3.
    - Windows 2000 can't format the RAID IDE HDD when plug in Promise 378 controller.
    3. 2004/05/06"
If any of you are still on 1.6, is this differant, as I did not pick up on the change with single and double sided mem. Which may help with certain Ram Sticks, and Snoppy to keep using win2K.

  • Believe Core Center or BIOS voltage?

I have a K8N Neo2 Platinum board (bios 1.1).  Does anyone know if I should trust the 12 volt reading from the BIOS hardware monitor or the MSI core center utility.
I have a brand new power supply (Enermax EG465P-VE FCA).
I am getting the following readings for the 12 volts:
    BIOS READING
    11.97 -12.03 volts
    CORE CENTER READING
    11.61-11.91 volts
I have been experiencing some stuttering with my new eVGA graphics card and the tech support thought I the power supply might be the issue since it is sensitive to the 12 Volt rail.  They were not sure which voltage reading is correct. Unfortunately, I do not have a volt meter to probe inside.  Could it be that once windows loads up, it activates more devices causing a voltage drop of some sort?
    Any help is appreciated.

The BIOS readings are almost certainly more accurate.
How many amps does your PSU have on 12V? If 24+, then it's unlikely to be that - your voltages look well within spec.
Graphic stuttering can also be caused by several other things, including drivers, AGP fast writes to name a couple.
A slight voltage drop is normal with more devices, but a good PSU should regulate itself to keep within spec.
Edit: Just checked, and your PSU is 20A on 12V, which is "borderline OK", depending on who you ask
I'd try investigating other possibilities before you blame the PSU though.

  • Core Center Freezes Machine

Seems that MSI Core Center windows application does not like underclocking...
When i overclock with this tool everything is okay...
however, when i try to revert to previous setting using the tool, Machine freezes
Well i guess software programming is not the strong point of MSI

  • Neo2 defaut FSB frequency , live update and core center issues

    Hi,
This is the point : i bought a brand new 915P Neo2 last week,
out of the box results : Windows XP SP2 install is OK right
now, Graphics Card is working properly but the system is
    still unstable !
--> I decided to install MSI core center but while running
      pc freezes !
---> tested MSI live update, packets download is working
but the tool is still unstable and pc freezes .... while testing system...
---> tested a small utility (third party) from intel website
to compute P4 target and actual frequency
this tool reports that my p4 is running at 3.24 Ghz,
I double checked and found that defaut FSB was set to 810 Mhz
even after hardreset and bios safe mode, CPU is running at 203 Mhz * 16 = 3248 Mhz
I really dont understand why reset value has been set to 203 Mhz ?? why not 200 Mhz
    so MSI 915 P  defaut setting is 1 % overclocking strategy ?
the bios setup is not really taken into account ??
have you ever pointed out this problem with defaut frequency ? is this a problem ?
what is your opinion regarding MSI utilities ?
I have a lot of random pc freezes, too many for this board !
    all advices are welcome !!

I don't usually recommend bios updates, but you should seriously consider it if you can get the board to run stable.
Test your ram with  Memtest86. This should give you an indication if you can do a flash from DOS, plus it will test the ram for you.
Try setting your FSB to 201. On the 865/875 boards that will hold the setting. 203 is typical of MSI and other manufacturers, but it really isn't high enough to be considered overclocking, and certainly isn't high enough to cause problems. But it keeps them in the race with the others when the reviewer's determine which board is best by looking at the decimal places.
You don't list your power supply data. Power and ram are the usual culprits, with heat being another.

  • Help! Dual Core Center

    Hi,
I just installed dual core center on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 but it won't allow me to change my CPU fan speed! The MB button is greyed out? How can I change the speed of my CPU like I could before when I used Windows XP and Core Center? My motherboard is the MSI K8N SLI Platinum.
    Thanks.

Quote from: Stu on 02-November-09, 02:57:07
Which one? Please use the full model name of your board, not the MS-xxxx number.
    http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=searchresult&keywords=ms-7100
The full model is the MSI K8N SLI Platinum motherboard.
Ok, I have made some progress on this problem. I have removed Dual Core Center (like everyone says here, it is CRAP!) so now I have managed to get my fan to slow down via the BIOS by enabling the Smart Fan and setting it to 50C. Now my only problem is, I feel that the polling for the temperature is not done frequently enough. I estimated that the sensor only polls something like once every 2 min. It just feels like it's taking far too long for the fan to speed back up. Is there any other way to speed up the polling frequency for the temperature?

  • K8T Neo - Core Center does not support your motherboard!

I installed the latest version of Core Center utility on Windows XP x64.  But if I attempt to run it "Core Center does not support your motherboard!" is displayed.  The download website clearly states that Windows XP x64 is supported.  The message does not mention Windows XP x64 but the problem appears to have something to do with it because there is no problem on Windows XP x86.
    Any suggestion is appreciated.

I tried the one from the link in your post but no dice, or "Core Center does not support . . . "
I tried NextSensor. It seemd to be a stand-alone software and did not require installation. The result was that it did not have any effect on the fan speed. The Status indicated that Temperature of Processor and CPUCoreA were 118 and 35 degree C respectively, and that Fan Speed of CPUFan and SFan were 1250rpm respectively. These appeared incorrect. I could not get any instructions how to set it up so maybe I was not using it correctly.
