MSI Employees, Attention! Users too.

Hi
First of all, I'm not starting any flame here. I'm just not satisfied with everything.
In august I wanted to get a GeForce 6800 Ultra, and at last! I found one MSI NX6800 Ultra T2D256 at a retailer.. btw it was very expensive, and there was only 1 piece of it. Nevermind, i purchased it, finally I have the dream-card.
Ok, I got home, installed the fresh card, with the newest drivers. Running 3Dmark03... Freezing screen for 5 sec, then it continues!.. ROTFL...
What's wrong? My new memory modules? ? Nooo.. Those can't be.. It was clear that it is the GeForce.
So what? I downloaded the MSI 61.21 (cause there was no higher version in august), uninstalled the nVidia 61.77, and installed the MSI driver. No Shader Model 3.0 with the driver.. crap.
Running 3Dmark03 again.. hmm freezing screen is gone.. but there is a crack in the sound all the time. I hate it! What now?
I came to this forum, and checked other guys problems. I found out, that the original bios is CRAP, and it causes every problem which I was experiencing.
I saved my original bios, and flashed the card with nVidia's reference bios, and put back nvidia 61.77. Every single problem was gone, BUT the card did get a lower gpu speed. 400 mhz instead of msi factory standard 425. I thought "nevermind".
But! A new driver came from MSI, I installed it as fast as I found it on the web.
There were no problems. But there is a D.O.T. tab.. hmm. Let's try it!
Overclocking: Well, it's a GeForce 6800 Ultra, let's go to 10%, why not?
It's ok for the memories, but not for the GPU! It generates little artifacts on the screen! Put back to 8%... hmm, ok, but I don't get what I can with the driver, and I don't even get what I want!
And remember, the default GPU speed with this bios is 400 mhz!
What would overclocking do with the default BIOS at 425 mhz? 4% D.O.T. and the card crashes? Or what? This is lame man.
Why do you integrate this into the driver, if the 6800 ultra users can't even use it correctly?
Why don't you develop an updated bios for the card? It's about time man, and about time for a new liveupdate version too! The 3.6x doesn't work with it!
Why don't you reply for the users answers at support? They payed money for your company where you work!
Did you even read this post, or just scrolled down and running through it?
All I want to say with all these, that:
1. The card out of the box doesn't work properly. The original bios is a bug.
2. You have to search for others bioses and drivers, make a bootdisk and spend your expensive time with such lame things to replace the bios, and restart windows all the time.
3. You can't use the D.O.T. overclocking at max, because it is too much for the card, although there is a nice D.O.T. sticker on the box.. pathetic.
4. You get no support for your money... Just an updatet driver, which came a little late... Like a little piece of meat for the hungry animals in the zoo.. lol.
Besides these things, I really like this card. Not because it is MSI... because it is an nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra!
With the original cooler I get 435/1200 stable. Nice, the memory speed is impressive, i think the card has good rams, i dunno which factory, Samsung or Hynix, but thanks to them! But, considering that the factory default is 425 for the GPU, the 435 is crap...
I hope I'll get better clock speeds after I installed some better cooler... Like Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5.
So: Thanks to nVidia  , and none to MSI!

Well, I can tell you, that I don´t like to overclock the hardware (because my MSI GeForce 6800 Ultra is very fast at stock  ). Yes, I flashed the BIOS with Nvidia BIOS revision 2 too, and the default clock is 400, I wanted to go to MSI stock clocks, so, the 2D core clock was the same (400) and I changed the 3D clock to 425, the mem clock is OK (1.1). I tried overclocking the card just to see how far It can go, and the max was for the core 445 (2D and 3D), and for mem 1.20. Runs stable and without artifacts, but anyway, then I changed again to MSI defaults Core (2D 400, 3D 425), Mem (1.10), that´s really enough for me, this monster runs like hell, excellent!!!

  • Error while running the Oracle Text optimize index procedure (even as a dba user too)

    Hi Experts,
I am on Oracle on 11.2.0.2  on Linux. I have implemented Oracle Text. My Oracle Text indexes are fragmented but I am getting an error while running the optimize_index error. Following is the error:
    begin
      ctx_ddl.optimize_index(idx_name=>'ACCESS_T1',optlevel=>'FULL');
    end;
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 160
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.CTX_DDL", line 941
    ORA-06512: at line 1
Now I tried then to run this as DBA user too and it failed the same way!
    begin
      ctx_ddl.optimize_index(idx_name=>'BVSCH1.ACCESS_T1',optlevel=>'FULL');
    end;
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 160
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.CTX_DDL", line 941
    ORA-06512: at line 1
Now CTXAPP role is granted to my schema and still I am getting this error. I will be thankful for the suggestions.
Also one other important observation: We have this issue ONLY in one database and in the other two databases, I don't see any problem at all.
I am unable to figure out what the issue is with this one database!
    Thanks,
    OrauserN

    How about check the following?
Bug 10626728 - CTX_DDL.optimize_index "full" fails with an empty ORA-20000 since 11.2.0.2 upgrade (DOCID 10626728.8)

  • Does disabling specific OS functionality in Terminal with Admin account affect standard users too?

    Hello,
I am performing some security enhanacements and had a question:
Is it safe to assume that any service-disabling Terminal command that I enter under my Admin account will affect all standard users as well?  I other words, any string that includes "System/Library/LaunchDaemon..." etc will affect all standard users too, right?  I am presuming that if the services I am disabling were only for individual user logins, the string would start with 'user' and not 'system.'  Is this correct?
I disabled all that I wanted under my Admin account, but am wondering if I need to do the same for each standard account too (which would pose a problem because the standard accounts don't have 'sudoer' access) . . .
    Thanks!

any string that includes "System/Library/LaunchDaemon..." etc will affect all standard users too, right?
Yes. I suggest you make yourself completely familiar with the OS X startup process before you start making changes.

  • MSI KT4V-L User Review.

    MSI KT4V-L User Review.
The price of the mother board suprised me for what it was it seemd very cheep only £81 anyway,
I removed my old board and started to set the KT4V-L up and found it easyer than any other motherboard i have used.
I did not have to ajust any jumpers on the mainboard because everythign is in the bios also booting is a lot faster because
the boot is bypassed you now hit F11 and select your boot device. After i had set the bios to my preferd settings i
installed windows, the instalation went smooth and fast, When i was into Windows (XP) and had installed the motherboardes
drivers you really notice the speed of the board and the VIA KT400 chipset and is also very very stable, basicly this
motherboard is to good the only problems i found are with the Onbored Lan and the AC97 Audio. The Onbored Lan is good but
with my router when i need to restart it i have to unplug the system because when shut down the Lan is still active but i
also tested it with no router connected and had the same problem sometimes on first boot the net wont work but you can just
reboot and its fine also there is a Flash avalable for the lan option but i dont know if this prblem is in it. The sound
is very good but if you dont install windows and the drivers in a serten way the sound may not work, this is how i did mine.
    Windows XP
    Chipset Drivers
    Service Pack *Latest*
    Sound Drivers
    USB 2.0
    DirectX *latest*
    Graphix
    Mouse
    Lan
(Note!) Even though after installing some drivers it does not ask to reboot it is best to!
    And mine works fine
All in this motherboard is superb and as i used a MSI motherboard *MS-6340* for 2 years befor this upgrade all i am seeing
is good things well done MSI and keep up the good work.

  • MSI FX5900XT New User Here

    Hi all,
I just bought a new FX5900XT ( I live in Singapore ). Pls help as I have some queries...
    1) There is a app called "3D turbo experience" included and when I run it, it shows that the core speed is 300Mhz? I thought this card is set to default 390?
    2) Also , I must say that the CD package included in the Singapore version is so limited compared to what I read on the web. In my box, there are only 4 CDs
THey are the driver and some utilities, WinDVD Creator, Unreal Tournament 2004 Beta version and Chaos Legion Full Version.
This is so much lesser compared to the 20CDs the website showed.
Is there anyone here who is from Spore and has bought this card too? Am I cheated by the shop who might have taken out some CD from the box?
    3) Has anyone run Farcry with this card? Pls let me know when you click on "auto detect" on the video option menu , what are the results? I had most of them detected to 'medium' setting except for one 'high'. Not sure why ? As I have read somewhere that it this card is capable of autodetecting all "high" ....
As I am a newbie into high performance video gaming .. pls give me some opinions. Thanks a lot!!!
    My PC setup:
    AMD Barton 2500 ( no O/C)
    256 Kingston DDR400 x 2
    WD 80GB
    Abit NF7

Thanks a lot for your replies.
Yup I think the package varies according to location but just didn't expect it to be so different in Singapore. ( so much less ).
I was also told by the shop owner that if you use the MSI clock to overclock, its actually covered under the 1 yr warranty.  So thats why I am a bit held back to user other software such as coolbite to overclock , moreover this card does not have temperature detector on it. Hence its hard to judge how hot it gets while overclocking.
Pls let me know how to monitor and safely overclock this card.
    Thanks very much !
Btw, my AMD 2500  runs at 49degree in windows and up to 55degree while playing game. Not sure if thats normal? (using original AMD fan)
    I already have 4 casing fans! 2 infront ( intake ) , 1 on top and 1 at the back ( outtake)

  • Skype for Business - Manage the .msi but not Users...

We are considering deploying Skype for Business across our large, international organization.  Two questions:
Can we disable the File Transfer function in the .msi we push out to everyone?  Our concern is data leakage of confidential information.
Our central IT shared services group wants to manage the configuration and deployment of the .msi but not be tasked with managing everyone's Skype accounts and billing/funding issues.  Does Skype account creation and funding of those accounts remain with the individual Skype user when Skype for Business is used?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
From your description above, did you use Lync 2013 basic version?
Please check if Windows 7 update to the latest version firstly.
As Holger Bunkradt said above, please try to install the update manually.

  • Deleted-recreated user too soon

Hi, I'm using  Active Directory Version: 6.1.7601.17514. I was attempting to create a new user by copying a profile from the same group. I found out too late that the user I copied had her own .bat file and wouldn't be suitable to copy from. I was
advised that it would be safe to delete the new user, then recreate by copying another user's profile from the same group. I deleted the user. Then I recreated the user. It was on the last stage of creating the user when I got a message saying it couldn't
create a folder in the home directory because one already exists. It appears what happened was I didn't give enough time for the domain controllers to sync. It recreated the user account, it accesses folders for groups which it is a member of, but it does
not show a folder for the home directory. Does anyone have any idea for a remedy? I should note two things. I am relatively new to using Active Directory, and I had someone from the network team here advising me while I was proceeding. Thank you for any assistance
    you can provide.

    Hi,
You can try the following cmdlet to test the issue:
    Update-CsUserDatabase
It may also cause by the issue with the user's AD properties. Please open the adsiedit.msc and find the user. Then check the user's properties of Lync server.

  • Install MSI as restricted user?

I have set up an Zenworks desktop management agent MSI package which
installs fine when it is associated to a normal user (when set to force
run). If I want to do a force run when associated to a workstation
group it wont work, you have to double click the icon after it has been
cached. This isnt really how I would like it, I would like it to
    automatically install.
1, can I get this to automatically install when associated to the
    workstation?
If I have to get a user to click on the icon it will work fine for a
normal user but on certain users they have a restrictive policy which
says they are not allowed to install stuff so when they have the icon
popup in their NAL window (because its associated to that workstation)
and click it, it returns an error of 1625 (a restrictive policy is
    stopping the installation)
2, Is there anyway around this?
    Thanks

How could I copy to the c:\temp and then delete it? I am trying to do an
automatic install without any user intervention so I can push this out
over night, but I will definatley give the unsecured system user ago.

  • Users (admin user too) cannot login to Xserve with OS X 10.4.11

The admin user cannot login into the login window directly on the server, I tried Using the install CD, and changing the root and admin user password and SSH from a terminal MacBook Pro with the command line: "ssh root@XXXXXXXX", it seem like is blocked or maybe the user expired.
The system: Weblogs, QuickTime Streaming, is working fine. I have connected (optical fibrer) a Xserve Raid and is working too.

This is not a direct solution, but might help you see what is going on. Check out this webpage with instructions how to get to the console screen from the login window - http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20020318020806482

All enteries on my phonebill are at midnight (even though I have a data allowance it was excluded from allowance). I switched 3G off on Friday, played "Songpop" at midnight and at the exact time I got a "Server Error" message.
I posted a message on the "Songpop" support forum. At first they said this was a problem relating to my ISP.
I have spoken to my ISP and asked if there are connection drops at the time I have been billed (ie to establish if my wifi dropped and 3G kicked in without my knowledge) and have been advised that there aren't any connection drops at that time.
"Songpop" have now responded that "This is an issue to take up with Apple Support"  see: http://support.songpop.fm/songpop/topics/playing_songpop_on_phone_via_wifi_but_i ncurring_download_data_charges_for_3g_useage?utm_content=topic_link&utm_medium=e mail&utm_source=reply_notification
Hopefully someone at Apple can respond ....

  • .msi runs everytime user clicks the desktop icon

We have been working on creating bundles to deploy small apps to our end users. We are on Zen 10.2.2, and have about 1500 users. I have been building apps in Adminstudio, and they deploy correctly. On some users PCs though, when they double click on the desktop icon that is created after the deploy, the .msi progress bar runs across the screen very quickly and then the application opens just fine. Is this normal? It only seems to happen after a restart or logout. If they close the app and reopen it, there is no progress bar. I'm new to creating bundles, so please let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you.

Is their Windows Profile Being Recreated Each Time?
Put some junk on the desktop and verify the profile is not being reset
    for some reason.
