MSI FM Radio disables network
Hello guys
I just installed TVAnywhere Master in my PC last week and it works fine. Recently I noticed a strange problem that whenever I run MSI Radio, the traffic on my network connection stops moving. I have a Realtek chip based fastethernet card which I use to connect to the other PC in my home.
I have tried so far the following:
* Changed PCI slots for the ethernet and Tuner card
* Update latest drivers for the ethernet cards.
* Verified MSI drivers are the latest as per forum posts and MSI support site.
* Updated WinXP with all system updates reported by windowsupdate except SP2.
* Checked WinXP event logs for any abnormality, nothing there.
As soon as windows starts MPCSYS driver, network traffic stops moving. The connection remains there, card and network remains enabled but no data movement. Have tried assigning fix IP to the card but that did not help either.
The TV software doesnot exhibit this beaviour. MSIPVS runs just fine. I have not enabled the DVB option yet in MSIPVS.
Have done some googling but cannot find any reference to a similar problem. So i dediced to post here hoping i can find a solution.
Any ideas folks???
Thanks msivictim. Unfortunately that did not help.
I was able to resolve this problem by moving the network card before the Tuner card. i.e. I installed the network card closest to the CPU and moved the tuner card to the last slot i.e. farthest from CPU.
Now I can listen to the radio and use the network at the same time.

3600 AP %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled
Hi All,
I am facing issue with some 3600 APs. These aps are not joining WLC. We have total 137 APs. out of which 97 are registered but rest of them are not getting registered and I am keep getting message on AP console %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled.
While troubleshooting I noticed that Controller can ping these IPs but with drops. So I thought it is a cable issue but when I connect AP directly to switch ports still I get ping drop from controllers IP. When I look at switch port power it shows 13.0 for all non registered APs where as working one is showing 15.4. I have checked there is no network issue. WLC can ping other APs very well being in same subnet only APs which are not getting registered are not pingable 100% there are drops while pinging APs.
All APs are in same subnet and WLC MGMT interface is in different subnet. AP joins WLC via option 43.
I am attaching logs from AP console. I am runing 7.5.102
Can any body help me on this.New-ASW01# sh power in

Hi mate!
I had the very same problem with this mobo
I think that the reason is that we both have localised (rus in my case) windoze versions.
I have bought it the other day, and tried for 3 hours installing xp sp2 on it, with no success regarding network driver. The same case, as with you: i have network adapter in my hardware list, but no icon in "network
connections", also, nvidia network manager fails to install, naturally
I even checked registry and foung some gabberish in network connection names there!
BUT I think i have found a way to install it, at least i did it once, before i have killed my mobo while trying to update BIOS to 1.2 (fecking BIOS chip is hardwired, so there is no chance to fix it at home):
1) DISABLE network in BIOS
2) install xp sp2
3) download fresh nvidia drivers from their site
4) download motherboard drivers from MICROSTAR site:
http://www.microstar.ru/support/dvr_exe/mbd_dvr/NVIDIA_650_SLI_MB.zip
5) install nvidia drivers EXCEPT the network one
6) reboot, ENABLE network in BIOS
7) install MSI version of system drivers, NETWORK ONLY
I have RMAed my mobo today, and bought another one, the same model, and
will try it tonight again. I will try making a driver MIX for later use. If i find it working,
i will post it somewhere. -

Thanks.Hi,
>>How to prevent users see computers on network, how disable network discovery completely?
We can try the following solution to see if it helps.
In a new or existing GPO:
1. On Computer configuration, choose Policies, choose Security Settings, choose Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
2. On Windows Firewall with Advance Settings, choose Inbound Rules, right click and choose New Rule
3. On Rule Type, select Predefined and choose Network Discovery, choose Next
4. Choose only the following rules:
a. Network Discovery (LLMNR-UDP-In)
b. Network Discovery (NP-Name-In)
c. Network Discovery (Pub-WSD-In)
d. Network Discovery (SSDP-In)
5. On Action choose Block the connection
6. Press Finish
7. On Inbound Rules, right click and choose New Rule, select Next
8. Choose only the following Rule:
a. Network Discovery (NB-Datagram-In)
9. On Action choose Allow the connection
10. Press Finish
11. On Windows Firewall with Advance Settings, choose Outbound Rules, right click and choose New Rule
12. On Rule Type, select Predefined and choose Network Discovery, choose Next
13. Choose only the following rules:
a. Network Discovery (LLMNR-UDP Out)
b. Network Discovery (NB-Name Out)
c. Network Discovery (Pub-WSD Out)
d. Network Discovery (SSDP Out)
14. On Action choose Block the connection
15. Press Finish
16. On Outbound Rules, right click and choose New Rule, select Next
17. Choose only the following Rule:
a. Network Discovery (NB-Datagram Out
18. On Action choose Allow the connection
19. Press Finish
20. On Computer configuration, choose Policies, choose Security Settings, choose System Services
21. Choose Computer Browser Service
22. Select Define this policy setting
23. Choose Disabled, choose Apply and Ok.
24. Repeat steps (21-23) for the following services:
a. SSDP Discovery
b. UPnP Device Host
c. Function Discovery Resource Publication
d. Function Discovery Provider host
e. Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper
After configuring the GPO, link this GPO to our target OU, and we can run gpupdate/force to immediately update group policy.

Bluetooth radio disables itself
My wife has a BlackBerry Pearl and since she is not on an enterprise server, I have it set up to connect to our home PC using Bluetooth. It works beautifully and will perform a wireless sync of her calendar and contacts whenever she is within range of the PC. The only problem is that the BT radio on the phone has a mind of its own and turns itself off after some time. I haven't determined if there is any sort of cue for it to turn itself off or not. I just know that every couple of days, I grab her phone to make sure that she has been syncronizing regularly (of course she doesn't) and the BT radio is off. I then enable the radio, at which point the PC prompts for a connection and the sync routine then launches.
I've seen other threads in this forum that talk about the BT radio disabling after a period of inactivity when connected to a headset. I would assume that this is the same problem. Any answers???See if these KB articles are of any help:

LAP 1142N "Radio disabled due to PoE" after upgrade to 7.6.120
Recently, we upgraded our 5508 wireless controllers from 7.4.110.0 to 7.6.120.0.
One AP (AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9) doesn't work now.
Both radios are stuck in state 'reset':
AP#sh int dot11Radio 0 | inc Dot11Radio0
Dot11Radio0 is reset, line protocol is down
It seems to be a PoE issue:
AP#sh controllers dot11Radio 0
Radio disabled due to PoE
This 1142N is connected to a HP switch (model 3800 with 802.3af/802.3at support). It did work on this switch several months before this upgrade and it works if connected to Cisco switch (Cat 6513).
We didn't upgrade the switch firmware or change its configuration.
The PoE status from the switch CLI:
PoE | Power Power Alloc Alloc Actual Config Detection Power Pre-std
Port | Enable Priority By Power Power Type Status Class Detect
------ + ------ -------- ----- ----- ------ -------- ----------- ----- ------
21 | Yes low lldp 33 W 7.8 W Delivering 3 off
Other APs (80 3602 connected to HP8212zl switches) do work without any problem.
Any idea how to solve this? After updating to 7.6.120 we've noticed that some of our AP's wouldn't come up. After looking in the switch's logs I found this
chassis: Ports PoE usage has exceeded threshold of 80%.
The power drawn is 117w (show power-over-ethernet).
When I use the following command: show power-over-ethernet brief I get this:
PoE | Power Power Alloc Alloc Actual Configured Detection Power Pre-std
Port | Enable Priority By Power Power Type Status Class Detect
----- + ------ -------- ----- ----- ------ ----------- ----------- ----- ------
1 | Yes low lldp 17 W 7.0 W Delivering 3 off
2 | Yes low lldp 17 W 7.0 W Delivering 3 off
3 | Yes low lldp 17 W 6.8 W Delivering 3 off
4 | Yes low lldp 17 W 7.1 W Delivering 3 off
5 | Yes low lldp 17 W 7.0 W Delivering 3 off
6 | Yes low lldp 17 W 6.9 W Delivering 3 off
7 | Yes low lldp 17 W 6.8 W Delivering 3 off
8 | Yes low lldp 17 W 6.7 W Delivering 3 off
9 | Yes low lldp 17 W 6.9 W Delivering 3 off
10 | Yes low usage 17 W 0.0 W Disabled 3 off
Port 10 is where the missing AP is on.
How is it possible that after the update to 7.6.120 the AP won't work anymore? -
Unable to disable Network Monitor in Flash Builder 4 Standard
For some reason the Network Monitor is enabled for my Flash Builder project. Perhaps it was enabled when I was running the FB4 Beta 2 version. Now I need to disable the Network Monitor, but of course, since I'm using FB4 Standard the Network Monitor view says I need to purchase FB4 Premium.
All my app traffic is redirecting to localhost:37813 so I know the network monitor is still enabled. Can anyone tell me how to disable Network Monitor in FB4 Standard?
Thanks,
DavidThierry,
I finally figured it out. In Flash Builder close your project. Then in the file system go and directly edit the .actionScriptProperties file. In the main <actionScriptProperties tag edit the includeNetmonSwc="true" flag to be includeNetmonSwc="false" instead. That will stop including the network monitor library in your code and should turn monitoring off.
That setting is controlled by the network monitor tab, but that tab is only visible with the premium version of Flash Builder so it seems once your trial version times out you can never disable it via the GUI, just via the .actionScriptProperties file.
Now reopen your project after saving the changes to .actionScriptProperties and you should be good to go.

How to disable network connections for an application
Hi to all,
I would like to know if there is any way a user can disable network connections for a specific application.
Thank you,
XwangYes, but I would like to block only a specific application, not all the traffic from the PC.
I've found this "solution" which uses iptables on the net:
"Add a group to your system (I use nonet myself), then add a rule to your output chain like this: -A OUTPUT -m owner --gid-owner nonet -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-net-unreachable Run the program for which you know in advance that you want to block, with sg (sg nonet "your_prog your_args")."
Do you think is it right?
Another suggestion was to use unshare to call the program disabling the net for that program only.
The problem is that unshare is runnable only by root so, in case, I should turn on its setuid flag in order to execute the program as a normal user, but I don't know if it is safe to do that.

Aironet 1100 Radio disabled at power up
Just setting up an Aironet 1100. Anytime I reboot (or if power is lost) it comes up with the "radio" disabled. I understand that this may be the default behavior before configuring but shouldn't it remember the settings so it reboots to the last state? I am sure it is not desired to have to reenable the radio on every AP after a power failure. What am I missing?
Thanks. Bruce
Model info and software versions below:
Product/Model Number: AIR-AP1121G-A-K9
Top Assembly Serial Number: FTX1033V144
System Software Filename: c1100-k9w7-tar.123-8.JEB1
System Software Version: 12.3(8)JEB1
Bootloader Version: 12.3(2)JA4Thanks Mike:
I had seen that info about 12.3(4)---but thought that applied to default behavior and not whether it would explain losing the enabled status at every reboot.
Should I try to upgrade the bootloader to a newer version (can that be done, where are the files?). Some of the terminology is confusing. I wasn't sure if that applied to my system (12.3(2)JA4) since that talks about 12.3(4)JA2 having the radio disabled by default and no SSID.
I actually had tried to upload the newest system software (from JEB1) but that failed.
Does the system software upgrade also update the bootloader version or are they independant?
thanks for you help
