Msi Fx 5600 Vtdr 256mb

anyone know the max mhz for 2d / 3d / memory for msi fx5600 256mb ??
and also the default ?

Well, I personally do not have any FX5600... so I'm not sure of the core clock speed for the 2d/3d/mem, but if you a good o/c info of the max range of the clocks, you can go and register to Futuremark or AquaMark3 and look under their comparison charts and see how muh any experts can o/c'ed...
For my system... I'm listed 2nd in my specs range in AquaMark3.
All the best in your o/c'ing times...

  • MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE REBOOTS Windows XP when it renders.

The Problem is that once video is captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card,  Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE crashes Windows XP when it renders.
I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The VGA card is set to CLONE mode and OVERLAY controls to FULL SCREEN DEVICE = SECONDARY DISPLAY, to get video output using thesupplied 9-SSCCR adaptor and
S-VHS cable to an analog VCR.
IF I DISABLE THE OVERLAY CONTROLS, RENDERING COMPLETES, XP DOES NOT REBOOT, BUT I CAN NO LONGER EXPORT TO THE VCR!!!!
I would appreciate any assistance or explanation.

Another issue I have relates to video captured by the MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card showing distortion or tearing in the bottom lines.
I am trying to capture, using an MSI FX 5600 VTDR 128 VGA card, I am using the latest MSI 44.03 drivers and the WDM drivers as shown in Windows XP system properties, hardware, are 2.0.3.0 09/04/2003.
The capture system is PAL, I have selected PAL-I, my video sources are either an analogue VCR or an analog Camcorder. I use the analog VIDEO IN or the S-VHS IN of the supplied 9-SSCCR adaptor.
The software packages I have used are Pinnacle 8.8.17 SE, Intervideo WinProducer 2.0 or MSI Media Centre II deluxe (including patch).
    Thanks for your support.

can anyone help or tell me ?
how come my new FX AGP memory not 256MB, even my previous card agp memory also larger than the new FX??

AGP memory is not a function of the card, it's a portion of the RAM which the bios can set  aside for texture buffering.
It can be set in the bios setup and is not dependant on your VGA card, however the driver can override this setting and in fact I have noticed it doesn't tend to go over 128MB regardless of the settings.
You can do some tests for each setting see how much you get, I suspect that for 32,64 and 128MB you will get what you set, for 256MB you will still get 128MB but I might be wrong.

  • MSAI FX 5600 VTDR DVI out & LCD monitor problem

I'm having problems with the card if I connect my TFT monitor using the DVI out on the graphic card. The problem usually occurs when resuming from standby mode or durring the initial startup of the system. All over the screen i see moving golden dots . This stops when I change resolution. If i connect the monitor using the VGA out everything is fine. I've tried the monitor on different card (gigabyte Ati Radeon 8500 Dvi out) and everything was OK. I've checked the cables and tried different driver.
Is there any sollution for my problem, and second can this do a damage to my monitor.

  • Msi fx 5600 ultra not on msi website

I just ordered a msi fx 5600 ultra, and I kinda worried now because there is no mention of the fx 5600 ultra on offical MSI Site. I see the regular fx 5600, but the the ultra.  anyone know what the deal is here?  Also after reading some reviews on the ultra vs ati 9500 pro, i might just get an ati card since the ultra falls way short of ati.  whats your opinion?

    kal,
I think you should wait till the card arrives and you test it and see what you think. I am sure the card will give you more than enough eye candy.

  • MSI GeForce FX5600-TD 256Mb Tv-Out, DVI

    Hallo!
    I have a AND XP 2000+, 512 DDR 266,  MSI KT3-Ultra, MSI GeForce FX5600-TD 256Mb Tv-Out, DVI
and a 450W psu. Win XP Professional sp1
I have a problem with games and when i tested in 3dMark.
    It's score bad.
    3dMark2003: 2312
All drivers are up to date and i have tried to reinstall all components
Can Somebody help me Please? ;(

sorry but the only way you will improve your score is to lose the MSI FX6500. This is a renault 5 in ferrari clothing. It simply does not have the necessary fill rate to compete with even a Ti4200, trust me I spent 2 weeks trying to get it running to spec.
Basically only an Ultra or FX5900 will improve it.
Nvidia boobed on the design of the Graphics processor, the card can throw out frames well beyong a ti4200 capability but because it cant fill them quick enough it cant maintain the framerate.....still dont believe me ? Try thi, run 3d MARK, any version, in 640X480, youll notice that the score doesnt improve dramtically. 640X480 should mean more FPS but still no fill rate so it cant process any quicker.
I am well pi**ed of with my FX5600.

  • Fx 5600 vtdr 128 mb or gforce 4 ti 4800 vtd

HELLO , I AM FROM BRASIL AND I WANT TO KNOW WICH
VIDEO CARD IS THE BEST FOR GAMES ???
    FX 5600 VTDR 128 MB or GFORCE 4 ti 4800 VTD ??
    Thank you.

Generally the Ti4800, in some cases if your running with AA the FX5600 could be faster.
An FX5600 Ultra or Radeon 9600 Pro would be better if you can afford them, or even better a Radeon 9700 (non pro).

  • MSI k7N2 Delta ILSR,AMD 2700+ & MSI GFORCE FX 5600 VTDR 128 Overclock

Guys, I have the above mentioned GPU, Mobo & CPU (Box edition with AMD FUN). Can anyone tell me the best way to overclock them at the highest possible mark?

    StormRider,
    Best way to overclock???? Humm......
Start with a big Case, then get a large Brand Name Top of the Line Power Supply. Then get a Ultra High Performance Heatsink and Fan for your CPU, I prefer a Peltier, others prefer Water. Then put a bunch of fans in your case and make sure you have all your wires run so you get great airflow. Then get High Performance RAM for overclocking, I use Mushkin Level II Black. (If you can still find any.)
Last thing that many people forget, have your computer in an air conditioned space.
Then go have at it. Overclock like crazy.

  • MSI GeForceFX 5900 Ultra 256mb N-box prob...

I recently acquired a new VGA, it’s a MSI NBOX nVidia GeForce FX5900 Ultra 256MB DDR2 8x AGP video card and I’m having some problems with it.  Before this card I had a GeForce 3 Ti 200.  I know the basics about motherboards but I don’t know them inside and out.  Basically I know the slots and such, but I don’t really know what board I own.  I believe it is a M810LR motherboard and I’m running an amd athlon 1.2 Ghz processor on it with 512 RAM with I believe 310 watt power supply.
Anyway that is my system I’m running on so onto the problem.  I installed the card into the AGP slot, and it fit nicely.  I powered on the PC and it worked, I saw all proper boot up screens, I got to windows ME and of course my desktop pixel quality and color was dumb down because I assume the question of new hardware.  I put in the driver CD and installed the driver that came with the VGA no problems with the installation, then of course it asked to restart and I allowed it to.  I saw all the correct boot up screens and when I got past the windows ME screen, my monitor went blank when it should have showed my desktop.  The monitor was acting like it was not receiving any signal; I checked the connection and it was good.  The monitor was acting like it wasn’t receiving anything so I restarted, and again the same problem.
I forced the system to start up in safe mode and it worked, but of course you cant get to a CD drive in safe mode and I want it to run outside of safe mode so I tried one more time in normal mode and the screen went blank again.  It was working before with the regular nVidia driver before I installed the MSI driver so I figured I would try that, so I took out the GeForce FX5900 ultra and put my old GeForce 3 Ti 200 back in my PC so I could see what I was doing.  Worked fine, so I reinstalled the nVidia driver turned off the PC and put the GeForce FX back in the PC, turned it on and saw all the proper boot up screens, got past the windows ME screen, got to my desktop, and 30 seconds later it freezes, I try it 4 more times and every time it ends up with 30-60 seconds of working fine then the freeze.
I heard great things about MSI products and I would just like mine to work properly.

Ive been dreading upgrading to win XP for a while now, to afraid that I will loose some games or info (like GTA 2).. but im ready and going to upgrade it in 4-5 days. Oh and dont worry if it dosent work, you'll hear from me

  • MSI FX5900 128mb or 256mb

    Hi all
I have decided to buy a MSI FX5900 has anyone got the specs for the
    MSI FX5900-TD128 and the
MSI FX5900-VTD128 I need to know memory / clock core speeds etc. Not the ultra to expensive for what I can afford
I have found some info on the forum.
    FX5900 SP-VTD128
    VIVO, 400MHz core, 700MHz RAM
    The MSI FX5900-TD 128mb
    Product Specifications
    Graphics Core: 256-bit
    Memory Interface: 256-bit
    Memory Bandwidth: 27.2GB/sec.
    Fill Rate: 3.6 billion texels/sec.
    Vertices per Second: 338 million
    Memory Data Rate: 850MHz
    Pixels per Clock (peak): 8
    Textures per Pixel: 16
    RAMDACs: 400MHz
    FX5900-VTD128
    VIVO, 400MHz core, 850MHz RAM
My question is how much difference will 128mb of memory compared to 256mb be using the FX5900.  for games?
    Thanks

Thanks. I've done my homework on just about everything. I know 2gb of ram will be in it. I'll be getting the 160GB drive because of the speed limitations of the larger disk.
Mostly, I'm having trouble finding any real numbers showing differences between 128 and 256 vid memory with motion. It's good to know it wont make much of a difference with FCE by itself.
Does anyone have a link to any benchmarks pitting the two 15" models? Specifically, with motion.
Also, kind of on a similar note, but not related to final cut, does having the 256mb version place a significant impact on battery life?
    Thanks.

    2) when playing high graphic game very lag even hang with resolution 1024.768
i already take the card to the shop to check, they say the card is no problem
how can i identify the card is something wrong or not ?? help plseeee

okay, first off, for that VGA setting, you do not want to use any system memory for textures.  especially being that it is PCI textures.  you have an AGP card, PCI does not even apply for you.  even if your video card was 64mb or 128mb, you would not want to use any system memory.  let the card handle what its supposed to handle.  if you are primarily playing games and you're not editing intensive media, the card can hold its own just fine without using your precious system memory.  and trust me, your system memory, when doing ANYTHING at all, is precious.  the more system memory you can have dedicated to a certain thing at one time, the better that certain thing will run.  turn that setting all the way down to 0.  i have found that sometimes it will not accept a value of 0, so i just place it at 1.  keep it as low as possible, that system memory is important.
the BIOS aperture size should also be turned off.  i believe (don't quote me on this) that the aperture is referring to a PCI card.  which, as stated before, you do not have, you have an AGP card.  so turn this off, the system will recognize the card and all its available memory from the bios directly.  having an aperture is using that precious system memory i was talking about.
one benefit of AGP versus PCI cards is that an AGP is much more capable of using its own memory instead of having to steal memory from your system's ram.  of course, there are many more noteworthy benefits of AGP vs PCI, but for this question, the applicable answer is, turn that stuff off and down.
    ++++++++++++++++++
VGA SETTING : PCI Texture Memory Size ,Use up to 31 MB of
system memory for textures in PCI MODE
what is that can i change to a bigger size
    BIOS :APERTURE SIZE : = ? MB
how to set so that i can get the best performance ?

  • 5600 vtdr 128 flickers

    Guys, long time not see...
Got an annoying problem with my vga for a month or so now.
Everytime i load a 3d game (Colin McRae 4, Hitman 3 etc. you name it) or a 3d application (3d mark etc...) the screen flickers and then it goes black. I have checked the AGP on my mobo (MSI K7N2 Delts-ILSR) and it works fine with others vga's(ATI nad nvidia likes). I don't overclock the vga at the moment and not for the past 4 months or so. It's in its defaults 325/550.
    Anyone with a suggestion?

???-)I read the manual and the rest but there's nothing on this particular problem. Guys i'm desparate. The vga has surely paid it's bucks up until now and i don't want to change it, it hasn't even been used for a year! It's full of capabilities (TV-Out, Video-in & Out, TV-Encoder etc.)....
    Please help if you can.
As i said, on any 3d program or game, the card seems to getting extremely hot(the fan works at full speed though) and at first the image on the screen starts flickering and after a while (half a minute or so) the screen goes black. This doesn't happen on 2d applications and games (Windows Desktop, Rise of nations, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City etc.). I don't know what's the problem, that's why i'm asking you...

  • MSI FX 5600 VTDR128 XP installation problem

Please help if you can with the following issue:
New installation of MSI 8912 Geforce FX5600 VTDR128. After driver installation, during the reboot I get a BSOD stating NV4_DISP.dll is the cause. I have tried the MSI bundled drivers (4345), the latest MSI drivers (4403) and the latest Nvidia reference drivers (4403). The MSI drivers display the usual MS graphics driver stop error: "0X000000EA" - infinite loop. But the Nvidia drivers give a simple "Hard Error" BSOD. I can get into safe mode. I can also disable the graphics card and boot normally. Upon Enabling the graphics card I get BSOD again.
I know my board does not support AGP 8X, but the card should run OK at AGP 4X. I can also run XP normally with the MS mini NVidia drivers to get high resolutions.
    System Spec:
    -SuperMicro P4DC6 Dual P4 Xeon with x2 2GHz CPU's,
    -1024Mb Rambus,
    -SBLive,
    -PCI Firewire card,
-Windows XP Pro SP1 (with ALL windowsupdate updates),
    - + loads of USB and Firewire devices...
-previous graphics card was ATI Radeon 9000 Pro (worked fine),
-latest Intel 860 Chipset drivers are installed,
-plus the latest Intel application accelerator is installed too.

Q: I have a P4DP8-G2 motherboard. I upgraded my video card to a Geforce FX 128MB, but now the SCSI BIOS disappeared and I cannot boot up the system.
A: This is because the shadow ROM is not large enough to fit both the Geforce card and the SCSI controller. After the Geforce card is loaded, there is not enough shadow ROM left for the SCSI controller. You may want to try some video card that uses less shadow ROM. (HC)
i know its not your board but as they seem to have an issue with one board perhaps email them
