Msi fx5700-td128 vs td128q

Hi!
Whats the diference between a Msi FX5700-TD128 and a Msi FX 5700-TD128q?
Why there's no q-less version in the main products page from Msi but yes in
other like msimiami that is from where i would be getting mine?
Thanks.

Is your card a OEM i.e. the cheaper, no box and/or no software bundle version?

  • Msi Fx5700 Td128 Memory Bandwidth

    Hello to all!
Please tell me the MEMORY BANDWIDTH for this  card:
     MSI GeForce FX5700(non Ultra) TD128
     memory implemented: SAMSUNG
On website is 14,4GB/s , but in Quick Users Guide 8,8GB/s.
What No. is the right No.?
    Please answer someone...

14.4 is the bandwidth for the Ultra so I assume it isn't the same on the non ultra.
You can calculate it by finding the rated timing of the memory chips and therfore the memory clock (approximatly).
For instance 2.8ns (should be marked on the chip -28) is 1/2.8ns=357MHz.
Using DDR it is effectively 714MHz, and using 128bit wide BUS you get 11.4GB/S

  • New series GEFORCE FX5700-TD128, 128MB is 64bit!!??

i buy new MSI FX5700-TD128 (not LE) and Riva Tuner show only 64bit memory bus!
performance on 3dmark is very low 2200 points on XP2500+,512MB RAM
if i try other FX5700 from Gigabyte RivaTuner show 128bit and performance is more better!
why MSI lie?!  FX5700-TD128 should be have 128bit memory bus! not 64!

    m4r3k,
Manuals for hardware are generic, and include multiple models of hardware.
If you look at the two links above, I listed both the 64bit memory version and the 128bit memory version and I asked you which one you had. You never told me.
If you do not give detailed answers I cannot help you. If you have a website that says your card is supposed to be 128bit memory, link it. If you have a copy of your manual online, link it. Till then, look at these two links for manuals:
    FX5700-TD128Q (128bit) Manual
    and
    FX5700-VTD128 Manual
(Just in case you did not notice in the links to the two manuals are the SAME LINK. So like I said, generic manauls. This is the industry standard.)

    Richard

  • FX5700-TD128

When I bought my card -an MSI FX5700 TD128-, I've read at the web page http://www.msimiami.com/spanish/products/detail_spec/FX5700-TD128_spa.htm that the memory interface was of 128 bit. Yesterday I've installed the EVEREST Home Edition software -the update of Aida32- and I saw that the memory interface is of 64 bit.
As I couldn't believe it, I've installed RivaTuner 2, RC15.5, and it says it's of 64 bits too.
I wanna know if these softwares are not seen it's a 128 bits one, or if it's true that it's a 64 bit memory interface card.
    Thanks.

Every thread i created was about FX5700 because i own this card and thought that i made a wrong decision with that card -MSI FX5700 TD128- now i know it was a good buy.
Only 1 question left: why is the fill rate of FX5700 so poor and at G4TiSeries so high-2x much, does it have affect in compare to G4TiSeries?

  • Trying to clock MSI FX5900 TD128

First of all: HI! (This is my first post here  ) )
I recently got muself a MSI FX5900 TD128. I installed the msi drivers and I saw it is possible to adjust the clock there. It is one (2D) that says 300mhz and one (3D) that says 400mhz. I've tried to adjust the 3D-clock to 450mhz (ultra settings) but when I reboot the pc it is back at 400mhz.
I don't know if I am doing this right and what the difference on 2d and 3d-clock is. Does anybody know?

    Hi Metaman,
You are having the same problem that I had with my FX5200 that the settings were not being saved.  I do not know why this is.
I downloaded the Geforce tweak utility from http://download.guru3d.com/gtu/ this allows you to change clock settings.
P.S the 300Mhz is memory speed
the 400Mhz is the GPU speed
    kind regards

you seem to have the same model as I do. mine's 64 bit. just count the rams on the board, if the board's all green and it has only 4 rams on it then it's almost certain that it's 64bit. sorry. If you could post what's written in your rams and how many of 'em are in your board maybe I could help you a little more. read your mail :D

    Geforce Fx5700-TD128 8x AGP 128MB

Hi got an Asus 9600xt core speed stock is 500 but can be whacked up well above that, Had mine at 550 and the memory to 340 (680). easy to overclock with the Rage 3d drivers. Gets well into the 4000 in 3d mark and over 32000 in aquamark...Used to use Nvidia but no way now!
And it runs cool and came with masses of software and half life 2 voucher.
Spanks the 5700 in every way including price at just over £100.
But still would prefer a 9800 pro they liquidate all the opposition

  • OverClocking MSI FX5700-VTD256

Hey all... I've got a FX5700 256MB Video card installed on my computer, and I'm thinking of over clocking it (dispite that fact that its new). Does anybody have any idea how overclockable this card is? the model name is MSI FX5700-VTD256. (the stock clocks are 425 MHz core and 500 MHz DDR memory)

  • Mega 180 and MSI FX5200-TD128

Hi all and thanks in advance for any help.
I just bought MEGA 180 a some more things, here is my current config:
    Box - Mega 180
    CPU - Barton 2500+
    Memory - 2x256 - 400Mhz from Phoenix Technologies
Disk - 120 Gigs HD - Seagate Ultraquiet
    DVD Rom - Leadtek Silent
PVR PCI Card - PVR 350 from Hauppage
    Everything works fine.
Now I have an MSI FX5200-TD128 Graphics Card and decided to try it out.
With some difficulty I managed to put it in but now .... the computer simply does not start .. well sort off.
Once I hit the power on button three things can happen:
    * Computer starts but the display is not on, and eventually it locks.
    * Computer starts with some gittery on the screen and it locks
    * Computer starts, I hit the del key but I can't even get into the BIOS.
In either case the OS never boots.
    My question is,
    * Do I need to set something on the BIOS before I install the card such as, increase the AGP voltage or something like that?
    * Can it be that my memory is just BAD for it?
    * Can it be that my AGP slot is just BAD?
    * Do I need to setup the BIOS prior to the operation?
    * Is this just that my MSI card is too power hungry, which I think it strange as it is from MSI, its the latest model of its type?
Please help me, and again thanks in advance.
    Nuno
PS: By the way, my BIOS is V3.30 downloaded two days ago from Live Update

    Hi,
Managed to get it working. Here is what I did in case anyone has the same problem as mine.
    1) Take a memory DIMM out, a let one just stay there. This will get you a memory total of 256 Mgs and your system will now boot.
    2) Get to the BIOS settings.
    3) Choose the option concerning DIMM's and performance (third option I think).
    4) In the third option select Manual. This will allow you to set specific options for the memory.
    5) Select Auto in the option concerning CPU / DIMM transfer rating.
    6) Select High Performance in the 7th or 8th option concerning your DIMM settings.
    7) Save the BIOS
    8) Put the DIMM back in
    9) Start your system and voila it works.
    Best regards,
    Nuno

  • Big MSI RX9800Pro-TD128 problem

    Hi everyone!
I am a proud owner of a Radeon 9800Pro (MSI RX9800Pro-TD128) and I've got an issue that looks very much (or exactly) like this:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/IvanV/shot0000.jpg
If you failed do recognize it, this is a screenshot from 3DMark03 GT4. It happens with all driver versions I tried (from MSI and from ATI). It used to happen only in GT4, so I wasn't to concerned, but now it also happens in HL2 when AA and AF are turned on (which is also strange, because I didn't use 3D Mark with AA and AF). The card is not overheating and works fine in other situations. My system:
    CPU: AMD Athlon64 3000+
MB: MSI K8T Neo (VIA K8T800 chipset)
RAM: 512MB DDR 400MHz Kingston ValueRAM etc...
    Windows 2000 Professional with SP4, DX 9.0c

Today, after months of having this issue, I solved the problem. Still, I don't understand why this worked, so please someone explain it to me. I found two solutions:
    1) Change AGP aperture size to 256MB. Since I have only 512MB of RAM, things got a bit less smooth, so I was thinking, since things did work from time to time, and guided partly by memory and partly by instinct I
    2) returned AGP aperture size to 128MB, and removed desktop wallpaper, screensaver, custom Windows appereance in Display Properties and it also worked.
I retested all variations several times to make sure, and right now I have little doubt that this is a permanent solution. I only don't know why, so if anyone could tell me, I'd really appreciate it.

The 256 MB version will allow you to load heavier 3D scenes in its memory with great performance, but the 128 MB version will have more bandwidth and it will generally be faster, although when the time come that a 128 MB video card will run out of memory, then the card will start to swap memory between its memory and AGP memory, thus it will be much slower that having a 256 MB version a bit slower.
    Confused?
I´d go for the 256 MB version. although it has 2.8 Ns memory and you could reach just 714 MHz memory clock speed, but the other card will have less memory.
It´s just an opinion, but I would choose 256 MB version if I were you, and if I had the money
