MSI FX5900TX-VTD128 Video IN Question re S-VIDEO

Can the MSI FX5900TX-VTD128 card support S-VIDEO input?
I've read in some reviews of this card that MSI is no longer including the external 4-to-1 video adapter.
I sure hope this card comes with SOME cables for video INPUT.  If it doesn't come with the 4-to-1 adapter, anyone know if it would work.  I really want this card to take an S-VIDEO input source, not just ugly composite video.
BB.

;(
I've got the same problem using the G4MX440-VT8X128 http://www.msicomputer.com/product/vga/vga_detail.asp?model=G4MX440-VT8X128.
Did you make yours to work ?
Any hint to give me ?
P.S.: I've tried with Windows Movie Maker and Virtual Dub, my WinProducer which came with the box bundled is not working properly, it (only winproducer) crashes during the boot (any hint about this also ?).

  • URGENT HELP: PC can't post after Bios Update on MSI NX6600GT-VTD128

The LiveBIOS utility on my PC showed that there was an updated BIOS of my MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 that I was using and I proceeded to update using the facility.
Everything seem fine until the system was rebooted, now the system refuse to post. All I see when I power on the system is a moment of power (e.g. I can see the lights on my keyboard and card reader), before they also disappear.
My system is a P4 2.4 Northwood running on a MSI 875P.  I had already cleared the CMOS on my motherboard but it didn't help.  I would appreciate greatly for any advice.

    Common mistake.
Unfortunately, the cure is likely to be painful.
Did you disable your Antivirus and Firwall before doing such a thing?
Video cards aren't like motherboards, and just updating for the simple fact that it's available is wrong regarding BIOS's for anything.
You should have a specific reason to do so.
Now, did you backup your old BIOS?
You may need to contact MSI directly to get the original BIOS and use a PCI video card so you can boot and see what you are doing to reflash your AGP card.
    How to contact MSI.
Thanks for the advice.  And you are right, the cure is painful, particularly, when I didn't back up the old BIOS and neither do I have a PCI graphics card lying around.
I did deactivated my antivirus whilst flashing, and there was no firewall running.

  • [GeForce 6] NX6600GT-VTD128 Video Capture

As many of you probably know, the v1.08 WDM drivers are Macrovision free. However, I can't install them on my NX6600GT-VTD128. I get the notorious "Code 10: Device cannot start" error when I use them. The supplied v4.05 work fine, but are NOT Macrovision free. What am I to do?
    System Spec:
    (All the latest drivers installed)
    MSI K8N Neo 2 (BIOS v1.5)
    Athlon64 3200+ (overclocked to 4200+, I love MSI)
    MSI NX6600GT-VTD128
    Sound Blaster Live! DE 5.1
    200GB WD HD (PATA)
    480W Thermaltake PSU
    WindowsXP SP2

I have exactly the same problem. I have downloaded the latest WDM driver kit from the nVidia site.
After installation two devices are detected. Going through the installation of the the first device (nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal)), this ends with the message that the device cannot be started (code 10).
The second device (nVidia Crossabr A/V) does install and start.
I want to use the video-in on my NX6600-128E for capturing old VHS tapes.
I have tried the WDM drivers both with VGA driver version 72.14 and 77.72. Same results!
Any help is much ap preciated!

  • MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200-VTD8X question

does the MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200-VTD8X question video card have a sheet of copper on the back side of the video card?

I don't know because I don't have that video card, but on one of the hardware sites I've been to, it says the backplate is simply too light to be copper and they suspect it's copper-coloured aluminum. I am not sure, maybe someone with the card can check it out.

  • Compatibility between MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 and motherboard

Hi guys, I want to know if there's compatibility between my motherboard "MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R AGP8X" and the "MSI NX6600GT-VTD128" because I want to buy this Video Card but my doubt is about the compatibility or maybe some errors, and I have a 400W Power Supply.. that's ok for this video card?... thnx !!!

    hi, how are you.
wel there are no cmpatibility issue with this motherboard and the video card... or i am not notify about...
but do you have to give "us" (all posiblle reply) more info about your pc, anyway the only limitation about it's the slot used, that motherboard uses agp8x and you have to buy a 6600vtd agp 8x, because thera are one model pci express that's all
the power issue: not a issue realy 400w power source are just enough
th real monster are hte 6800 family that need  470w or something like that to work fine
ok i hope  best to you and your newer card, and tellme how works this magnificent piece of technological art(in middle rank) and the capture feature with onchip video processor
    byee!!

  • MSI - FX5900SP-VTD128 - Need bios

Anyone got a MSI - FX5900SP-VTD128 with the original bios? I really need it...
    Thanks

There are no up-to-date Performance BIOS Versions available for your mainboard.  If Performance BIOS Versions ever existed, they were released in the early BIOS Development Phase for testing purposes.  To be honest, I have not come across any Performance BIOS for your board yet and it is also highly questionable if such a BIOS would help you in any way (if it existed).  Whatever problem there is (or not is) does not necessarely have much to do with the BIOS you use.
If you need help and advice on overclocking, please open your own topic in the OC Section of this forum, provide FULL system specifications (read the >>Posting Guide<< first) and post a list of your current Cell Menu settings for comparison.

  • Flickering in MSI 6600gt VTD128

    Hi,
I have some problems with 6600gt AGP card i just bought.
    1. I notice constant flickering (i don't know how to name it precisely) when playing games (any game). If i move the mouse slowly, i can notice flickering on the top of the screen, looks like the lines are drawing up too slow. Even if the fps is >80 in far cry or 40fps in Half life. It's killing me :(
    2. Far cry has too much lightning in the game. I'll upload the screenshots if you need them.
    2. There's no fog in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. If "fog" is enabled in options, i don't see anything on the screen. If i disable it, everything is just fine.
Tested with the both cards i bought (MSI 6600gt VTD128)
Please, help me solve at least the first problem.

refresh overrides helped my eyes greatly. thanks most of the flickering has gone, at least my eye does not notice them. moreover, i can enjoy watching movies in lower resolutions.
but i still have problems with the light effects. could it be a problem with my memory? just tested it with memtest and  got 2.4 GB/s in dual pc2700 mode with my celeron-d! that's really frustrating :( i think i need to upgrade my cpu and psu.
by the way, any hint to disable fast writes on Neo2-PLS? couldn't find the option in bios.
thanks again for the reg file.

  • GOP/UEFI BIOS for MSI R7 Series Video Card

Hi I need GOP/UEFI vbios for MSI R7 Serise video card
    Model: R7 250X 1GD5
    Seial No: 602-V271-24SB1403072315
    Thanks

    Use the attached. TV271MH.301
To flash create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
Unpack the provided archive (TV271MH.301.rar) and put the included file (TV271MH.301) on that stick.
Rename the vbios files to .rom (e.g. one to 301.rom).
Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 301.rom [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios.

  • MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 & MSI "3D! Turbo Experience"

    Hi,
yesterday I bought a MSI NX6600GT-VTD128. The card is running fine. I also installed the MSI tool "3D! Turbo Experience". However, the tool does not show any relevant information: no voltage, no memory clock, no fan speed...

    Hi,
As most will probably agree, 3D turbo is not a very useful piece of software.  Your best bet is not to use it.  There are lots of 6600GT posts here that address the monitoring issues of that card.
For memory clock and OC'ing you can use the coolbit reg update.  You can find a good write-up in the stickies at the top of the forum.
    Good Luck,

  • Help with FX5200 VTD128 video capture

    Hi all,
Just got this card - works great except video capture.  When I try to use Windows Movie Maker, I get a message saying that the device is not responding, close any applciations that may be using the device & try again, then a message saying the device could not be used because there was an error starting the device.  I have used MSI Live Update to get the latest drivers for this card.  Also, I see a nVidia TV Tuner in my Control Panel - is this related to my problem?
    Thanks!
    Asus A7V
    1.25 Gb PC133 SDRAM
    FX5200 VTD128
    Audigy 24-bit w/1394
    LG DVD-Burner
    1 x 40 Gb 7200RPM HD
    1 x 120 Gb 7200RPM HD

Just a thought - had a friend with an FX5900 on an nForce chipset which would not show anything on the display.  Another VGA card put in its place had the same problem.  The mobo (an MSI) had two jumpers to set it in safe mode (100Mhz bus speed).  After flipping these into position and turning it on there was the display!!
Reset items in BIOS and jumpers and the system went on without problem.  Maybe your board has the same jumpers.
    Just a thought!

  • MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X tech question

Hi everyone, I hope u can help me with this:
I'm planning on buying a MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X (Video In) from the United States which uses the NTSC system for Video, however where I live we use the PAL system for Video. So my question is will I be able to use the Video In feature of the card ?( ?? Do these cards work using both video systems or are there different video versions of the card?
    Thanks in advance!

    bondock,
It is my understanding that they will work with both systems. They do not make them market specific.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • [Radeon] MSI ATI Based Video Drivers???

I have MSI RX9800 Pro-TD128 Video Card and I haven't found any new MSI driver for this video card since 2004 year  Why is that - will MSI make any new drivers for the good old RADEON 9xxx series card or not? I see that they have made new drivers but for the X8XX series and not one driver for the older models    why is that??? And one other question - can I use a newer driver for X850PE for my video card (I think - that I can't use it but maybe I'm wrong)?

    Yes that's hard to follow
Quote from: bassmadrigal on 18-July-05, 13:10:22
Plus it doesn't help that ATI releases monthly driver updates (not sure if NVidia does). Makes it hard for MSI to keep up!
And it's crazy too    monthly waiting for a new driver lol
Nvidia at least wait two months or something else.
And yes Glenn thanks for the clarification, MSI and other manufactures have another goals instead of producing drivers constantly.
    kind regards.

  • MSI NX6600GT-VTD128 - locking up in games

    Hi everyone,
I've been looking round these forums for the past few days since installing my new 6600GT card on Christmas in an attempt to fix the stability issues I'm having. From other threads I've tried such things as:
    - Changing drivers (currently running the latest 71.22 drivers despite there being a CRC error in the NVCPZHT.HL_ file on extraction...they installed without complaint...). I was seeing the same freezing issues with the standard 66.93 NVIDIA drivers though.
    - Updating my NFORCE drivers through LiveUpdate to the latest version (3.75)
    - Updating my K7N2-Delta motherboard BIOS version (MS-6570 up to the latest 7.80 BIOS).
    - Setting the 2D and 3D clock speeds to the same (originally my 2D was set to 300Mhz and the 3D was 500Mhz). I tried bringing the 2D up to 500Mhz, but games still freeze.
Prior to installing this MSI card I had run a Leadtek GeForce 4200Ti for a couple of years without a problem. One thing worth mentioning was that after upgrading my motherboard BIOS to the latest version all of the settings were restored to the default values (expected). However, I forgot to bring the clock speed of my FSB up from 100Mhz to the normal 166Mhz for a couple of reboots. My processor was only running at 1.1Ghz instead of the stock 1.8Ghz, and funnily enough I didn't have a single crash at this underclocked setting. Games ran quite poorly, but they didn't crash!
I'm hoping someone will be able to come up with some more suggestions for me.

    Hi Aussie,
yes, "sort of", because I believe that MSi (and most of the other manufacturers as well) had done better spending some more weeks of developing a perfect card, but I think christmas came close, so probably it HAD to be out on the market soon. It's only small things, wrong logo on the manual, wrong labels on the video-out cables, and of course the delivery of defective devices, which can happen with any other manufacturer as well, but I have read of soooooo many people getting a defective one in the first run, that I simply cannot believe that this is still the "normal" margin.......... Well, good quality assurance and perfect details make a brand attractive, that's why I always loved MSI, but I'm beginning to miss that more and more......
If you get a working one, I still believe that the MSI 6600GT is one of the best choices, especially because of that silent fan and the huge software bundle......
    cu,
    Jackie
