Does any body out there know if a MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card will work well together?

like the grayone say, is true. for more ensure, try and search the graphic cards support list for your board at MSI (Sorry cause i don,t no is  where the site located)
in my opinion, most is compability for your card, when is a AGP slot.
Except the new one like the AGP slot, call AGR( Accelaration Graphic Riser slot) that really need to find a compatibility graphic cards.....

  • May I use MSI FX5900XT with Adobe Premier 1.5 to capture analogic video?

    Hi Folks,
Does anyone know if it is possible to use MSI FX5900XT with Adobe Premier 1.5 capturing video ?
I am trying to use this software to capture video and I see that Premier does not recognize it. I can normally capture with Virtual VCR or VirtualDub.
Is there any plug in or driver to permit Premiere recognize the MSI FX5900XT ?
    Regards,
    Mario Rodrigues

In the Adobe site there is no mention about Nvidia Cards.
I think it is stranger because the capture with Nvidia Cards are becoming very common nowadays.
I would like to know if someone has tried to capture with Adobe Premier using MSI FX5900XT.

  • The MSI FX5900XT has a cut down memory bus?

According to MSI's VGA product list the MSI FX5900XT has only a 128-bit memory bus.  Is that a typing mistake? --because the FX5900XT benchmarked on Tom's Hardware has a 256-bit memory bus.
    Tony.

It Must be a Typo, as there is No Way that NVIDIA would Let one of their Licensed Card Manufacturers even MSI, Cripple the Reference Design like that ......Chopping some Memory and Core Speed off of a Referece Card Design is one thing, But Changing the Whole Memory Pipelines Archetecture............Sean REILLY875

  • MSI FX5900XT installation question

    Hi!
Between two cards (MSI RX9800 vs. MSI FX5900XT) that were my candidates for replacing my FX5600 I chosen the nVidia one...
    My question is:
Do I need any addtional driver removal tools for upgrading the card???
my current card is MSI FX5600-VTDR128 and I upgrade to MSI FX5900XT-TD128
Or do I just uninstall the old drivers, replace the card and install new drivers???
Please help cos my system is 100% clean and in top notch shape and I would like to keep it that way...

Removing the drivers from the add/remove programs panel is enough - unless you run into trouble don't go looking for any.
I had found out that the FX5900 would only install on my system if the AGP apature was set to 256MB (in the bios).
That is probably just a system specific issue, but keep that in mind in case of trouble.

  • MSI K9A2VM shutdown

I have a 3 year old MSI K92VM with an AMD Phenom II x4 945 processor.  Whenever doing photo edits or even lengthy photo brousing my computer will spontaneously shut down as if someone pulled the line cord.  This problem started several months ago.  Running SIW shows that temperature TMPIN0 (whatever device that is) beginns to run away shortly after photo work begins; it starts at about 46C and the computer shuts off when after it reaches 96C or higher.  All fans are working and the case and vents are clean.  Does anyone have experience with this or have a suggestion about what might be a fix?  I contemplated putting in a discrete video card but don't want to go that route without some idea that it would solve the problem.

I thought I would post an update for anyone else that encounters this problem.  After running for an entire day with photoediting software running the computer again turned off just before I pressed shutdown.  I thought that perhaps the fan was being intermittent, so I took out the case screws and the next day monitored the temp while I was working.  It started a continual but very gradual rise, so I popped the cover to check the CPU fan with a flashlight.  It was running fine. but when I looked through the fan blades I couldn't see an air path through the heat sink!   Strange!  I unscrewed the fan from the heat sink to find a thin, compact layer of dust completely obscuring the fins.  I removed that with a stiff brush and vacuum and the temp dropped from an initial 65C to a just about constant 32-33C.  The computer has been working fine ever since.  Once again, thanks.  I wouldn't have gone that troubleshooting route without your help.

  • MSI FX5900XT New User Here

    Hi all,
I just bought a new FX5900XT ( I live in Singapore ). Pls help as I have some queries...
    1) There is a app called "3D turbo experience" included and when I run it, it shows that the core speed is 300Mhz? I thought this card is set to default 390?
    2) Also , I must say that the CD package included in the Singapore version is so limited compared to what I read on the web. In my box, there are only 4 CDs
THey are the driver and some utilities, WinDVD Creator, Unreal Tournament 2004 Beta version and Chaos Legion Full Version.
This is so much lesser compared to the 20CDs the website showed.
Is there anyone here who is from Spore and has bought this card too? Am I cheated by the shop who might have taken out some CD from the box?
    3) Has anyone run Farcry with this card? Pls let me know when you click on "auto detect" on the video option menu , what are the results? I had most of them detected to 'medium' setting except for one 'high'. Not sure why ? As I have read somewhere that it this card is capable of autodetecting all "high" ....
As I am a newbie into high performance video gaming .. pls give me some opinions. Thanks a lot!!!
    My PC setup:
    AMD Barton 2500 ( no O/C)
    256 Kingston DDR400 x 2
    WD 80GB
    Abit NF7

Thanks a lot for your replies.
Yup I think the package varies according to location but just didn't expect it to be so different in Singapore. ( so much less ).
I was also told by the shop owner that if you use the MSI clock to overclock, its actually covered under the 1 yr warranty.  So thats why I am a bit held back to user other software such as coolbite to overclock , moreover this card does not have temperature detector on it. Hence its hard to judge how hot it gets while overclocking.
Pls let me know how to monitor and safely overclock this card.
    Thanks very much !
Btw, my AMD 2500  runs at 49degree in windows and up to 55degree while playing game. Not sure if thats normal? (using original AMD fan)
    I already have 4 casing fans! 2 infront ( intake ) , 1 on top and 1 at the back ( outtake)

  • MSI FX5900XT freeze up

I just built a computer that has a Soyo Dragon Plus v1.0 motherboard, 512mb ddr ram, a Athlon XP 2800+, and a MSI GeForce FX 5900XT video card running windows xp home edition. The problem is when i try and run games such as ghost recon or unreal tournament the computer will freeze. I think the problem is the video card becuase when I used the DirectX Diagnostic Tool ("dxdiag" from the run command) and did the test DirectDraw and test Direct3d it froze when I did the test direct3d, but was fine with the DirectDraw Test. I looked over the drivers and looked at the notes and it said some of the drivers were not WHQL certified so I went to nvidias website and got a newer driver and the message disapperared and said there were no driver problems. I ran the Direct3d test again and it still froze as did the games. Ive tried  changing the refresh rate and that does not work either, can someone please help me with this?

To get it all in one place . . .

FSB and the resulting memory frequency in BIOS must be the same value.
Athlon 2800+ Front Side Bus runs at 166Mhz (333 effective)
and your PC2700 mem runs at 166Mhz as well (supposing you're not overclocking) It didn't on my system and was cousing problems.
Set you memory speed to AUTO to ensure that you have it on par with the CPU.

. . . got a new power supply: Enermax 460w +3.3v/35A, +5v/35A, +12v/ 33A) but im still freezing up on 3D games. When i do the direct3d test it spins the box longer then it has in the past and ive gotten farther through games then i have but i still freeze up. Even when i try to switch screensavers to a 3d one . . .
. . . used driver cleaner, installed new drivers, installed the hyperion drivers for via and got the same result.....format my harddrive and reinstall everything or you guys have other ideas? thanks, jetboy
Before reformat I'd like to confirm & suggest a coupla' things:
-If you haven't already, clean RAM and VidCard contacts with Isopropyl Alcohol.
-Important to be sure it's in AUTO to sync RAM with CPU FSB.
-Run vid/monitor at Default resolution/refresh rate till this is solved.
You're taking all the right steps and narrowing down the probabilities here, it's a pain but everything has to be done. Some improvement is showing, let's get a full-working rig again
BTW, did this build ever work 100% or has had video probs from beginning? I'm on a build and this helps to remind me to be methodical & painstaking with it.
Folkz, any other suggestions y'all think of?

  • MSI FX5900XT Green screen on TV-out

I have a problem with my FX5900XT-card. The problem is that when I play movies, the picture on the TV-out sometimes (quite often actually) goes completely green. At the same time the picture on the computer monitor starts to stutter a lot, and the responsivenes of the whole system goes way down. I then have to restart the player, and the picture is fine for a while until it goes green again...
I can say the following for a fact:
It is not a codec-problem. It doesn't matter if I'm playing DivX, XviD, MPEG or DVD...
It's not a problem of corrupt videos. The problem occurs on all videos and at different locations each time.
It is not a player-problem. I've tried WMP 6, WMP 9, Zoom Player, and WinDVD...
I've tried updating the VGA driver, but that didn't help. I've also looked for an updated VGA BIOS, but none exists. I'm now thinking about upgrading the motherboard BIOS, but looking at the change log I'm pretty sceptical to that making any difference...
Has anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks for any help!
    Thomas Sahlin

Yes, thank you, that has helped me before, but only for a while... The problem then returns and seems to get worse over time (until the next driver reinstall).
Isn't there a more permanent solution to the problem? Can't nVidia fix this? It's very annoying...
Oh well, right now the problem seems to have gone away... for the moment...

Please send your card to your vendor, the vendor is responsible for the faulty card. or else, we have a repair centre in AUS, you may contact them directly
    KXXX XXXX
    MSI Computer Australia
    Tel : 61-2-97480070 (ext. 110)
    email : [email protected]
Is that the first e-mail they sent you? Am I supposed to read from the bottom up in your PM?
From what I understand you are not listening to what they are saying and you need to contact Australia and the phone number and e-mail is right in front of your face..
No wonder they keep sending you the same thing...it's probably in hopes you finally understand?
    Am I missing something?
I can post the whole thing and we can disect it all right here. You may have to call them as e-mail in any case is not always the best means for communication..

  • Raid Disapears when MSI Fx5900XT installed

I attempted to replace my current ATI video card with an MSI FX5900-TD128.  During the boot process the onboard RAID is no longer visible.  Replacing the video card and the RAID returns.  I also tried an MSI Fx5600 card with exactly the same results.  The problem appears to be with the MSI resource suite bu I can't seem to find a way to alter them.  Has anyone else seen this?
    P4 2.40 , no HT
    Kingston DDR 1024MB PC2700 333MHZ
    845PE Max2 - FIR

The RAID disappears in the initial boot process so my guess is that the drivers are not a factor.  I will try a more capable power supply and se if that helps.  Thanks for the posts.
