  • MSI FX5900XT VTD-128 = very poor card

I'm starting to regret buying this card and wish I had waited for a 9800 pro.  I only get 4174 on 3dmark 03 (52.16 driver) and Far Cry played better on my previous card which was a GF3 ti200.

    chrislees,
If you want to monitor your temps on various components you can use
“Comp-U-Nurses”, “Matrix Orbitals” and or a “Digital DOC”, I use
them all on my rig and they work great! The least expensive unit’s are
the Comp-U Nurse, there $5.00 or something like that!
Some of the things I like about the Comp-U-Nurses are their cost and
you don’t need to rely on your rigs PSU, plus you can watch your temps
on whatever component you want, even when your rig is powered off!
Also highspeedpc and Bestbyte have some nice little heatsinks for
your video card memory and other things like MB voltage regulators,
chipsets, or just about anything that needs to be cooled down!
Here are some places, I believe sell those products:
    Matrix Orbital – http://www.matrixorbital.com
    Comp-U-Nurses – http://www.highspeedpc.com   or  http://www.Bestbyte.net
    Digital Doc – http://www.newegg.com  or  http://www.Tigerdirect.com  or  http://www.Directron.com
Good luck and have fun with Overclocking, just remember to watch your temps!

  • Msi 5200 Vtd 128

I have a problem with choosing  my nview mode, I cannot choose dualview or clone mode. It only displays 1 item, single display only.  I already updated my driver to 53.03 but still doesnt work.  I can choose whether to display analog or tv but I want both to work simltaneously and to display in clone mode.  My tv out is working ok when i choose to display it on tv but my monitor goes black.
    SPECS :
    MB  -  MSI 845 GE MAX / P4 1.8 GHZ
    MEM -  256 DDR
OS  -  WINDOWS XP PRO SP1
    MONITOR  -  SAMSUNG 151 S LCD SYNCMASTER
My old video card was working ok with clone mode, it was a geforce 4 mx 440.
    please help.

Hello, thanks for answer. I can tell you that my monitor is a ViewSonic E771 and there is no driver for Windows 2k in the Homepage of ViewSonic because Windows 2k auto detect it.
In the monitor tab of "Advanced options in the Display panel" it says: "Monitor tipe: ViewSonic E771". I don't trust in microsoft drivers very much, but in this case I have no choise, there isn't another driver for this monitor in the world! but what I can do is to try with another monitor to see if it work, then I tell u.
The extrange thing is that before with my GeForce 2 MX 400 I had the same computer, same windows, same monitor and same TV and everything was OK.
I'm already loosing hopes in that someday I'll have my TV and monitor turned on at the same time with my VGA!
    Thanks again...

  • MSI NX6600GT VTD 128 utility software

I just buy MSI 6600GT,the problem is I can't run the hardware monitoring tool for the VGA(3D!TURBO).
After I finish the instalation and running the tool I didn't see any result.Memory clock: N/a,fan speed:N/a
I have installed flash player, update the software(3D!Turbo),and I am using windows Xp SP 2.
Anyone know to solve the problem?Thx

    servo85,
I never use any of the Shovelware that comes with the Hardware. You are better off using the nVidia ForceWare Drivers and in there you have clock speeds.

  • FX5900XT VTD 2 Dead Cards??? Help

I bought a FX5900XT VTD 128 used it for a week and loved it ,,,then the card dies wile I was playing Call of Duty.
I sent it back and the they replaced it no problem, they said the card was bad and that it could be the 1 out of 1000 that was bad..so I recieved the replacement card after 2 weeks of wating and now my AMD will not post with the card in. I tried the fx5200 and an old g4 the AMD runs fine with both so i cleared my cmos and tried 2nd time still no post. I decided to try my 3.2 intel, and same problem. Nether of my computer's will boot with this MY 2ND CARD does anyone have any suggestions.

    RMA the RMA..
The same "happens every 1000 cards" applies here too. I had 4 RMA's on a Western Digital drive until I got one that was satisfactory.
Sucks but it's the nature of the beast sometimes.
Just curious, what power supply do you have in the AMD rig?
Post the corresponding amperages for the +12v, +5v & +3.3v rails. The information can be found on the sticker on the side of the power supply.

  • Internal TV Support FX5900 VTD-128

I have a MSI FX5900 VTD-128 and I am trying to figure out the TV support.
What is meant by "Internal TV support"?
Does this enable a cable connection or aerial to be connected?
What does the channel control do if it does not?
    Iss additional hardware needed?
Sorry if this sounds stupid, but the manual says nothing.

Ive plugged a coax cable in from the Cable box.  so wheres the picture.  tell me what you have to do what programs etc..., Becuase the TV is grayed out in the media centre.

  • Does MSI fx5900 "SP"-VTD 128 support temperature monitoring?

    Hello everybody!!!
I really need someone's help here.I recently used the coolbits hack to overclock my card(MSI FX5900 SP-VTD 128).It runs fine after overclocking but the problem is that I can't monitor the cards temperature!!!
I used both the 3D Turbo Expirience and the registry hack to add those DWORD values that enable the thermal monitoring, but even after that I couldn't see the card's temperature!!!
Is there anyone who can give me a solution to this problem?I really don't want to damage my card by overheating it!!!

I have the same card as you the MSI FX5900SP 128VTD and it does have temp monitoring, i has used different drivers and my temp monitoring tab has always worked o.k, you may have damaged it already if you are excessivly O/C the card, i can only get mine to 465/812 before i start to see affects or lockups, so that may be the case, i am looking to flash my card though with a bios from a FX5900U to get the O/C that i want but i want to know if its been done first , i know you can do a FX5900U to a FX5950U so why not a FX5900SP(XT or SE) to a FX5900U?

  • May I use MSI FX5900XT with Adobe Premier 1.5 to capture analogic video?

    Hi Folks,
Does anyone know if it is possible to use MSI FX5900XT with Adobe Premier 1.5 capturing video ?
I am trying to use this software to capture video and I see that Premier does not recognize it. I can normally capture with Virtual VCR or VirtualDub.
Is there any plug in or driver to permit Premiere recognize the MSI FX5900XT ?
    Regards,
    Mario Rodrigues

In the Adobe site there is no mention about Nvidia Cards.
I think it is stranger because the capture with Nvidia Cards are becoming very common nowadays.
I would like to know if someone has tried to capture with Adobe Premier using MSI FX5900XT.

  • OC'ing MSI fx5900sp VTD-256

I bought the MSI fx5900sp VTD-256 thinking that it was 400mhz core / 800mhz mem. After running 3DMark03, I find out that it was running @ 300/700. So I enabled coolbits and oc'd the card. The highest I got (performance 3D) was 423/814. Anyone else have this card? Is this the highest that this card is capable of?

I don't use the MSI drivers and I just use the coolbit's registry hack.
I let the driver interface Auto Detect the clock settings first, then run a benchmark and watch for anomolies in image quality. I will then tweak down the settings until I find stability. I often run a game for a while to see REAL WORLD perfomance, and adjust accordingly. Personally I don't overclock since with the last few cards I've owned I see no reason to yet, I just do it initially to see what the cards potential is. I do not remember my last settings for previous cards as I know that every GPU, RAM setup will deliver varied results from one card to the next even theough they are identical, also keep in mind the configurations available with all the hardware available.

  • The MSI FX5900XT has a cut down memory bus?

According to MSI's VGA product list the MSI FX5900XT has only a 128-bit memory bus.  Is that a typing mistake? --because the FX5900XT benchmarked on Tom's Hardware has a 256-bit memory bus.
    Tony.

It Must be a Typo, as there is No Way that NVIDIA would Let one of their Licensed Card Manufacturers even MSI, Cripple the Reference Design like that ......Chopping some Memory and Core Speed off of a Referece Card Design is one thing, But Changing the Whole Memory Pipelines Archetecture............Sean REILLY875

  • MSI FX5900XT installation question

    Hi!
Between two cards (MSI RX9800 vs. MSI FX5900XT) that were my candidates for replacing my FX5600 I chosen the nVidia one...
    My question is:
Do I need any addtional driver removal tools for upgrading the card???
my current card is MSI FX5600-VTDR128 and I upgrade to MSI FX5900XT-TD128
Or do I just uninstall the old drivers, replace the card and install new drivers???
Please help cos my system is 100% clean and in top notch shape and I would like to keep it that way...

Removing the drivers from the add/remove programs panel is enough - unless you run into trouble don't go looking for any.
I had found out that the FX5900 would only install on my system if the AGP apature was set to 256MB (in the bios).
That is probably just a system specific issue, but keep that in mind in case of trouble.

  • [VIA] MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card

Does any body out there know if a MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card will work well together?

like the grayone say, is true. for more ensure, try and search the graphic cards support list for your board at MSI (Sorry cause i don,t no is  where the site located)
in my opinion, most is compability for your card, when is a AGP slot.
Except the new one like the AGP slot, call AGR( Accelaration Graphic Riser slot) that really need to find a compatibility graphic cards.....

  • Watch TV with 5200 VTD 128 - Coaxial to RCA ?

    Hello!!
I want to know if there is any option to use my video card fx 5200 VTD 128 to watch tv.  I want to know if there is a connector that converts Coaxial to RCA Inputs...because I receive the coaxial cable from my tv provider, but I have RCA inputs in my video card....so is there any option, or should I buy a TV Tuner card?
    Thanks!!!

hmmm.. AFAIK 'coaxial' is an adjective for a type of cable ~only~ (as in a coaxial cable), not a type of plug/socket standard.   Also, the card requires a composite video signal, while signal from an aerial is an RF signal.  The VTDR model can take an RF signal because it has an inbuild TV tuner.  But you can use any ol' VCR as a TV tuner.  Connect the cable from the aerial into the the Aerial-in (RF-in) on your VCR, and an RCA cable from the video-out on the VCR to the video-in on the card.
