Yes the cooler fan is working fine
Yes I did try it on another PC and the problem of lines running down the screen persisted.
Yes it must be the agp card.

I since you have a Video Card question and you posted in the nVidia/AMD/SiS Motherboard Forum, I moved the thread to Multimedia forum for you.

Hey all, hope you can help me out.
Having some major problems with installing the Ti4200 64 card on my system. My system continually crashes with it and no games or programs run for very long, freezing or just not loading, due to lack of virtual memory.
I've downloaded the latest patch for my motherboard and graphics card so its not that. Might be the psu as its only 300w so I'm looking into upgrading that. Could there be a prob with the motherboard, memory or psu. I can't afford to upgrade all of them so is there a way of finding out which one it could be.
System:
Win 98
Athlon Thunderbird 1.1
FIC AZ11 motherboard
765 crucial sdram pc133 (1 x 256 and 1 x 512)
Maxtor Plus8 IDE 40 gig Hard Drive
MSI G4 Ti4200 td-64
Creative SB Live!
Liteon dvd
300w psuhi again,
here are the specs for my psu.
+3.3v - 15A
+5v - 35A
+12v - 10A
-5v - 0.5A
-12v - 0.5A
I've since flashed my motherboard with the latest bios, probably not the wisest thing to do in hindsight as now nothing happens at all with the msi agp card so i'm running off my pci voodoo 3 2000 now. As far as the cmos is concerned, its got all the same settings as before and now i'm totally confused. I'm guessing a new psu is the order of the day. -
Query: MSI GeForce FX 5200VTD 128MB DDR VIVO TV-Out/DVI (AGP)
does this card support 4x ?? i know it migth sound like a noob remark but i dont want to purchase it if it doesnt lol..
I think all 5200's are 8X AGP but are very weak cards.

P.S. Look at a GeForceFX 5900XT 128Mb or a Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb. They are the best bang for the buck
I think its time to upgrade VGA cards Deathstalker we went from top of the line to bang for the buck cards -
MSI Ti-4200 TD GPU GRAPHICS "LAGGNESS"
I have bought the MSI Ti-4200 TD about 2 months ago and have installed it to my new D.I.Y computer. But it does noe seem to be running smoothly when I play games on my computer. For example, even for games like Warcraft III, C & C Generals and RalliSport Challenge. I have encounter small jams here and there during gameplay and the worst is in Rallisport Challenge where "laggness aka big jams and distortion" occurs at every 10 to 15 secs f gameplay which cause "dizziness" ...
I have even download the following driver for update on the GPU and things seems worst. After I have uninstall the old driver from my Win2K and install the fresh new driver, I have found that the system does not indicates whether my GPU is running under 2x or 4x AGP under Control Panel > MSI Information. I am unable to adjust my MSI Clock settings as an error message appearing says that "DirectDraw Init Failed. The sample will now exit". I do not have this problem with the previous driver. ?(
Below is my com specs.

Hope someone could find me a cure. Thanks :DWell... Thanks for your advice, but I have already formatted my computer and re-install everything. Though now my computer and the GPU works well :] and perform rather well, but I will still take your advice to heart when the next time I come across this problem again. )
May I ask to confirm again? Is is that if I meet up with this problem, I will go to my DxDiag and de-activate my Direct Draw >> Restart my computer >> Re-activate my Direct Draw >> Restart my computer. Am I right?
Thanks again for your help :D !!! -

Ive been trying to get a GeForce 4 to work in my computer for over 3 months now and I am getting very frustrated. First I had a Visiontek Ti 4200 64Mb with a Soyo Dragon+ mobo and that would lockup any time I tried to play a video game. The screen would get covered with colored blocks and i would have to do a hard reboot. Then I decided to get a new Epox 8K5A2 mobo and used that with the Visiontek card and it still did the same lockups. I sold the Visiontek card and now I have an MSI Ti 4200 64Mb card and that is doing the same thing too. Last week I bought an Epox 8K3A+ because I had seen websites using it with the exact same videocard for benchmarks so I figured it has got to work. Got the board yesterday and guess what, it does the same damn thing as the others. I have a 600W Robanton powersupply that is designed for high-end servers. It puts out 40A at +3.3v and 60A at +5v so it can't be my powersupply. I tested both cards in my parents PC which has a Duron 750 and an Epox 8KTA3 mobo(350W Codegen PSU) and they worked perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Athlon XP 2000+
Volcano 7+ CPU cooler
Epox 8K3A+, Epox 8K5A2, Soyo Dragon+
MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64Mb
512Mb Mushkin DDR 266
80Gb Seagate 7200rpm HDD
Lite-On 16xDVD and 16x CDRW
Netgear FA311 NIC
600W Robanton PSUI upgraded my mobo to its latest BIOS version and it still didn't work so I swapped out my XP 2000+ for a Duron 750 and that still didnt work. Then I swapped my PSU for my parents 350W Codegen PSU and it works , no lockups. I just ran through 3Dmark2001 and it actually made it all the way thru. 8o Now I'm gonna swap the Duron 750 out and put my Xp 2000+ back in and I'll see if that works. If not then I'm gonna have to buy a new PSU. I'm gonna need some suggestions from people who have similar systems(Athlon XP, DDR mobo, GeForce4)

Msi kt3 ultra, msi gf4 4200 tvout problem
I have a msi gf4 4200 64mb card and i have a msi kt3 ultra aru and windows xp,
my problem is tv out is garbled in pal , ntsc is grey (iam in europe), the colours seem inverted blues are red, etc and theres a ghosting effect around moving images like in videos or around the cursor
Ive tried everything from default mem setting , to high performance , tried diferent driver sets , tried windows 2000, tried via chipset drivers, latest msi, nvidia gf drivers, pal b , g , i , 60hz, diferent resolutions, clone view, single output to tv, stretch view , nothing seems to fix it, the only thing that comes close to fixing it is using the tvtool http://tvtool.info/ with color fix correction activated, but the images isnt stable its got a weird strecthing, shimmering effect on the bottom half of the tv image
Iam sure that the problem is not tv or cable related because i tried a friends p4 (board msi sis 645dx) with the exact same model gf4 4200 (not my one) with my scart cable and tv set up and it worked fine.
Could it be a voltage problem? ive even tried upping agp and core voltage a bit to see if helps, and nothingmhuizing,
nope havent tried a diferent tv , but it should work , i tested the connection with a friends computer
exact same gfx card model and it worked fine!
My old system leadtek gf3 ti200 , epox 8kha+ worked fine with this connection.
Iam using a scart cable to a video , then from the vid to the tv via antena cable
i upgraded and voila, i got some headaches for free :P !!! -

[VIA] MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card
Does any body out there know if a MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU and a MSI FX5900XT 128MB DDR Video Card will work well together?
like the grayone say, is true. for more ensure, try and search the graphic cards support list for your board at MSI (Sorry cause i don,t no is where the site located)
in my opinion, most is compability for your card, when is a AGP slot.
Except the new one like the AGP slot, call AGR( Accelaration Graphic Riser slot) that really need to find a compatibility graphic cards..... -

MSI TI-4200 Win 98SE Rebooting
I needed to create a Window 98SE disk so I can play some of my games that don't work on XP Pro. I have used the latest drivers, but after I installed the drivers for the card, the PC reboots and goes into safe mode. On my XP drive, it all works great. How can I find out what the problem is? How can I fix this so I can get to playing my games again?
Thanks, Dean.
FYI ...
nVidia 45.23 drivers
Intel 845PESV board with Pentium 4 3.06 Mhz
1 GB ram
WD 80GB hard driveOk, my current confuguration is as follows:
Intel DE845PESV motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 3.06 Mhz(533 FSB)
1 GB of Kingston 133mhz DDR ram
MSI TI-4200 Geforce 4 128mb graphic card
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card
Compaq DVD-117 DVD drive
Liteon LTR-48246s CDR-W drive
Sony Floppy drive
Windows 98 SE
Promise Ultra ATA-133 (Tx2)
After some additional research, I believe the problem is with the nVidia drivers. I removed the drivers and had Windows configure the card as a standard VGA display card. Then everything boots OK, but only 16 colors. As soon as I install any version (I tried 40.71, 44.03 and 45.23) of the nVidia drivers, the PC re-boots with a problem loading ndis2sup.vxd. I don't know where to go from here.
The games I want to play are Mechwarrior 2 Titanium additon and Mechwarrior 3. I have tried many configurations in XP but no good. So I figure a drive with Windows 98SE will do the trick. I have everything loaded except the graphics card.
Is there any more info you need to help me? -

MSI GeForce FX 5600 256MB DDR with BIG FAN!
Hi,
I was thinking in buying a new video card and a MSI Geforce FX 5600 256MB DDR is a very good choice for me, but i realised that despite the fact, that its a 256MB DDR running at 400Mhz, compared with the 550Mhz of the GFFX 5600 of 128MB DDR and i was thinking in buying a bigger cooling solution to replace the bundled one with the card. So i could overclock the mem frecuency at 550Mhz. So my question is, do you know of a good and not so expensive cooling solution for the card??.Companies like Zalman and Vantec has to offer some nice and quiet cooling solutions.See video card's RAM specs for that kind of o/c.

Will the MSI G4MX440-T 64Mb work with 250W UPS?
Hi guys, this is my system:
Celeron 1GHz 256kb cache
Motherboard DFI CA64-TC Rev.A+ AGP4X (AGP2.0,checked with PowerStrip)
256 MB RAM Pc100
ACER CD-ROM 54x
SONY CDRW 48x24x48x
Quantum Fireball HD
Sound Blaster PCI 128
3D Prophet 4500 (in a few days it will be MSI G4MX440-T)
UPS 250W (Brand: LP)
I just ordered the MSI G4MX440-T 64MB (I will have it on Tuesday, not enough money for a G4Ti).
I have read a lot in this (and many other) site about G4s and poor performance with not powerful UPS.
My system, with the 3D Prophet 4500 works just fine.I never encountered instability issues or poor performance.
I read in this site that the combined power of the UPS comes from the below formula:
{[(3.3V x Amps) + (5V x Amps)]/3} x 2
My UPS specs are:
+3.3V =>12A
+5V =>25A
So the combined power of my UPS I suppose it should be 114,13W.
I also read that a system with Athlon 1700+ and a G4Ti needs 200W combined power.
My system, which is less demanding from the above, will it have problems with the G4MX440?
I will repeat myself by saying that with the 3D Prophet I don't have a single problem.
I ask for your advice because I am a little nervous for the possibillity that I will encounter problems.
Thanks for your concern :DHi guys,
They didn't have the G4MX440-T and I bought the MSI G4MX440 -TD8X.
It works with 4x on my mobo but everything works perfectly fine!
My 250W PSU doesn't suffer at all!Can you imagine that?
I tried playing a few demanding games like Morrowind and Ghost Recon (which come with the MSI box) and the performance is awesome!Even at 1280x1024 the games are running smoothly!
I run 3DMARK2001SE and I have a score of 4198(1024x768 32bit)!
After hours and hours of playing I didn't have the slightest crash or any other instability!
And with the case closed there wasn't any increse in temperature (CPU 30 C, internal inveronment 21 C).
So, in conclusion there wasn't any problem with the card and the 250W PSU of my system. However thanks for your concern! :D
