MSI Gamin App doesn't start (System.NullReferenceException)

Hello, I've got:
- Gaming App version 4.0.0.05 (just downloaded)
- MSI GTX 960 Gaming 2G, S/N: 602-V320-02SB1502018592
- Windows 7 Pro x64
- .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5.2
The Gaming App doesn't start for me (it just dies without showing any window, only a notification icon appears for a second). In Windows event viewer, I see this:
Error: System.NullReferenceException

Guessing by the name "Class_Fun_MB.GetWMI()", it might have something to do with WMI. The WMI itself seems to be working fine: my event viewer shows no error regarding it, and I can run wmic.exe and execute commands like "PROCESS get Caption,Commandline,Processid"...
The other application (MSI afterburner) works just fine, but it's way too scary for me to use, and I'd really like to have the Gaming App working - please help!

I'm using a hp z230 tower workstation, with LGA-1150/i7 4771 processor, PCH C226 chipset, and 16GB RAM (can't post external link to hp page).
I tried reinstalling Gaming App, etc. but to no avail.
Except that, I have no other problems with the PC or graphics card. Played Witcher3 for several hours - all smooth and stable.

  • MSI Gaming App Will NOT Start

If this is the wrong forum I apologize, I didn't see any other place for topics about MSI software.
When my PC starts, the MSI Gaming App doesn't start automatically, I have to manually start it by double-clicking the icon on the desktop. However, it is a crap shoot if the program will even run; usually it doesn't and I have to completely restart my computer and cross my fingers. I've re-installed, updated, etc., but it keeps doing this. Any help would be fantastic.

    Are you mixing RAM?
Did the software ever worked before? Try to uninstall it (Programs&Features), remove any folders and registry files that Gaming App have made (you can also use CCleaner to clear registry errors). Then reboot and try to install+run Gaming App again. What was the version you have tried? From the CD included with the card or from MSI website? If possible, tell exact version.

  • RT app doesn't start on power-up or re-boot

    Hi Again, Gang:
This one is stumping me.  I've finished a cRIO application, and am now in the process of getting it ready for distribution.  The RT part of the app runs fine when I upload it from the host PC.  When I set the app to run at startup from NV RAM, it doesn't run.  Well, actually, to make matters worse--it DID run ONCE!  This morning I powered the cRIO, then did other things for a while.  I later looked at the unit and saw the user LED was flashing the sequence that says it's working.
I've read through the troubleshooting stuff on the web site.  I've FTPd into the box and it looks like it's set up right.  The dip switches are all off.  I've waited for 10 mins to see if comes up after a while.  I've experimented with the FPGA upload settings to see if that's the issue.  (The RT won't get very far if the FPGA doesn't start)  Is it possible that something with the shared variable engine is holding it up?
I'm about out of ideas.  I really hope that someone can give me some!
    Thanks in advance!
    Roger

  • Bea Workshop JSF Tutorial - deployed app doesn't start on Tomcat 5.0

I've followed the BEA tutorial up to section 5 - Running the application.
When the application is deployed from a WAR to Tomcat the application doesn't start in Tomcat 5.0
The error message from the Tomcat console is :

    Ram,
Thanks for your reply. I was creating a WAR file using the Export>J2EE>WAR option.
I've since found out you shouldn't do this for Tomcat from Bea Workshop.
So now I am running the application in exploded mode as you suggested
(ie. 'Run modules directly from the workspace' is checked)
    When I run pages/register.jsp - two things happen :
1-the browser that opens WITHIN Bea Workshop has an exception :
    javax.servlet.ServletException: No faces context?!
(I believe this is because web.xml has *.jsf as the url pattern that maps to the faces servlet, so register.jsp doesn't invoke the faces servlet. But the tutorial hasn't said anything about amending the web.xml servlet mapping.)
2-a separate browser opens OUTSIDE of BEA workshop and the url is "http://localhost:8080/"
    I don't understand what's happening here.
The tutorial should be very reliable, not throw up errors.
If you or anyone else can throw any light on this I'd be grateful.
    Thanks Steve

  • MSI Gaming app will not start up or run

I just installed a new MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G and also installed the MSI gaming app. When I click on the app to open it appears in my notification window, but as soon as I mouse over the icon it disappears. The app stops running. I have uninstalled and re-installed like 12 times and restarted the computer 15 times. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to using new stuff so any help would be nice. Thanks

It's an issue with Gaming APP that is currently not fixed. Open a ticket with MSI support to add more cases for MSI to check and find the problem: >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • The camera app doesn't start from lock screen

One of the new features in IOS 5 is the ability to start the camera from teh lock screen. However, my phone doesn't allow this. Was this function built into the final release version of IOS 5?

This feature is not working on my iPad 2. When I double-click the Home button--in lock-screen position-- the iPod features appear at the top of my screen, as they always have. The photostream icon remains in place to the right of my Home screen slide lock. No camera icon comes up anywhere. I have photostream set to off and tried switching it to on, to see if this would make a difference; it does not. I'm very computer and device-literate. The problem isn't in the way I'm double-clicking the Home button. This feature is definitely not working on my iPad 2.

  • Windows 8.1 app doesn't start due to Error 0x80073cfc - package is in state: Modified

    Hello
Ive created an app with winjs and am deploying it onto domain joined windows 8 Pro devices, without the use of a sideloading key (sideloading enhancements).
The SAME package does work on other devices but the current device is behaving differently.
    Device preperation:
    1. The device has a windows 8.1 pro OS and is fully updated.
    2. The group policy Allow all trusted apps to install has been enabled.
    3.  The certificate has been installed into the devices thrusted root certificate store.
To create my package, i right clicked my application project and selected Store => Create App Package. Then i selected No on the store question and next => create.
I Installed the dependencies Microsoft.WinJS.1.0 and Microsoft.VCLibs.x86.11.00 as it is a x86 package.
The created package i installed using the powershell add-apppackage command.
The error i am seeing in the windows event log (translated from dutch):
The activation of the app <some guid> App for the WindowsLaunch-contract has been blocked with Error 0x80073CFC because the package is in a Modified state.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
    Regards Ian

    Hi Ian,
I would move the question to TechNet Windows 8 General forum for a better support.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • WebStart app doesn't run after JRE auto-update

Our JNLP-deployed app doesn't start if the JRE is auto-updated as part of the WebStart download. The JRE update completes successfully but the app doesn't start and the desktop shortcuts created by WebStart don't work (the path to the webstart app in the shortcuts appears to be invalid). The user has to go back to the webpage and click the link to the app's JNLP file again, then the shortcuts will have the correct path and the app will start.
Currently, our app requires JRE 1.5.0, so typically the update is going from 1.4.2 to 1.5.0. As a test, I tried starting with 1.5.0 installed and having the app require 1.6.0 and everything works perfectly, the JRE gets auto-updated, desktop shortcuts are valid and our app starts immediately afterwards.
This problem occurs whether the new JRE is auto-updated directly from Sun or from our own server (we're using the JREInstaller from the 1.5.0 JDK samples).
Any idea what the problem is and how to correct it?

Currently, our app requires JRE 1.5.0, so typically the update
is going from 1.4.2 to 1.5.0. As a test, I tried starting with 1.5.0
installed and having the app require 1.6.0 and everything works
    perfectly,..
Any idea what the problem is ..No.
.. and how to correct it? Does it work when the user upgrades direcly from
1.4.2 to 1.6? If so, you might specify 1.6 is the
minimum requirement. This is obviously not an
ideal solution, but may get your users out of a bind,
and they are probably better off using 1.6, in any case.
