MSI Gaming 7 z97 audio crackling and noisy

Hi everyone. Today i start my PC but no sound. I turn up volume and then there was lots of cracking and popping. Was like interference or something.
Yesterday all was fine so i don't know why. I didn't update any driver, install program, or anything. The sound is bad also in the back port. I use stereo headphones btw.
I've already tried to unistall and reinstalla driver, tried it under ubuntu (i use Win 8.1), with and without audio boost, other headphones, different audio tracks and audio program, Youtube, secondary bios, disconnecting front audio.
What can i do? Audio only works with AMD driver on my monitor via HDMI, but not with headphones. Do you think that my onboard audio is broken?
I'm pretty frutrated about it, this is my second mobo, the first one has BIOS issue, i hope that RMA won't be necessary but...
Can you help me?

Already tried with clearing cmos and even with secondary bios, but it happened suddently. Saturday it works, on sunday no. Inside my case is clear, i've cleared it some weeks ago. Some dust, but nothing special.
Strange thing is that both front and back doesn't works. It was untouched because i went to bed and then when i woke up it just doesn't work.
I'll try outside but seems strange though. If i've made some change it would be ok, but in this case i don't know what to think. Ghosts?
It isn't windows, because elsewere ubuntu would work, but it doesn't. Isn't bios, isn't case cable, isn't any program...
This is my second faulty Gaming 7..

    Hi Guys,
Pulling my hair out with this one and I really need some help.
My HDMI Audio out to TV has worked great but more often than not I get Audio crackling and popping sounds.
Its more apparent when I launch big picture mode in steam it opens with horrid crackling sounds, if I use my USB headset its fine.
    I have done the following so far;
Disabled onboard Audio in the bios - No difference
Enable XMP1 memory profile - Thought it had resolved this at first but then the issue was back within a few days
Enabled high performance in power settings - no difference
reinstalled all drivers - no difference
did a full reinstall of Windows 8.1 and removed other devices and the same issue occurred.
I would also like to add the TV is fine, speakers are ok and I have tried a new HDMI cable and other devices which don't crackle.
Scan computers have offered to RMA the card but I don't think this issue is the card the games, graphics, all function really well and I am hoping to not have to RMA the card I have come here to ask for help because I am now at my wits end trying to fix this.
My motherboard BIOS is also fully up to date
    Gigabyte Z97M-DSH3 Bios F5
    i5 4460
    Ballistix 8GB Ram
    Nothing is overclocked

Had the same problem after installing 8.1 a long time ago. Rolled back to 8 still had the same problem. Just ignored it for like a year since it only happened after my PC was on for a while and then I could just log out and back in and it would fix itself for like 8 hours. Down the road I reinstalled windows from scratch after getting a new PSU (mine was getting up there) and it was gone. I think it had something to do with some drivers or something getting messed up while moving to win 8.1. On 8.1 now and have no issues.

Here are the standard BIOS codes. http://www.ami.com/support/doc/AMI_Aptio_4.x_Status_Codes_PUB.pdf
codes in the 50s are memory related. Codes in the 40s (pure numerics are not part of the current AMI status codes.
Without knowing whether a screen has been connected and what is displayed on the screen, we don't know at what stage the post/BIOS boot is in. That 45 could well be the CPU temp at this stage
Initial system build should have been done outside the case with one mem module, HDD (i.e. barebones) only to ensure everything starts up, at least into the BIOS. Only then is it time to mount the MB in the case. Makes life much easier to fault trace.

  • Iphone 4s usb audio crackling and popping

hi my iphone 4s crackles and pops when listening to music using usb audio playback in my car
my ipod is fine just the phone that does it
anyone know of a fix ??

The system in your car is probably not designed for use with an iPhone. The radios in the iPhone can put out quite a bit of interference. If the system is not designed for it, this can result in very poor audio quality. Try putting the phone in airplane mode and see if the problem persists. If it goes away, then it's a compatibility issue with your head unit.

  • PlayStation 3 (ps3) audio crackle and popping bug

I'm curious if anyone else out there has experienced this problem.
For a couple years now, I regularly render my projects to mp4 (h.264) files at 1080p for playback on my PS3. In Premiere Pro CS3, I had made a couple customized presets with all the right settings for smooth playback on the ps3, which took quite a bit of research and experimentation to get just right.
Now in Premiere Pro CS5, the few h.264 default presets I've used work really well out of the box, with one small caveat. On a particular music video I've been working on, the audio has quite a few crackles and popping sounds in it. I've researched the heck out of this, initially thinking it was a problem with my render... deleted my audio peak files over and over, changed projects to 44.1kHz and/or 48kHz, use the original WAV file, etc etc ad nauseum. What was most confusing is that I couldn't hear any of these popping sounds when I played the exact same mp4 on my computer. In fact, it sounded perfect on my computer no matter what I did. In diagnosing the problem, I connected my computer directly to my stereo (bypassing the PS3) and sure enough the audio was perfect... so...
My thinking now is it's some sort of a bug or perhaps a very nuanced incompatibility betweeen the ps3 and the mp4 file. I've re-rendered the mp4 in countless ways, tweaking nearly every encoding setting possible. So far, I've found two things that work and cause the audio to play without any clicks or pops on the PS (again, they all sound fine on the computer)-
    1. Rerendered at 720p instead of 1080. Audio plays perfectly.
    2. Replaced my video track with a single white color matte, rendered at my original 1080p. Audio plays perfectly.
Anyway, that's where I'm at. Given it plays so well on my computer, I'm half thinking the PS3 is on it's way out as my HTPC solution.
Curious if anyone else in the community has experienced anything like this?

Just some thoughts here. Many users have had issues (some Audio on Export) with Apple's H.264 CODEC (probably the most common one?), and have had much better luck with the H.264 from either Lead, or from MainConcept. Not sure if either have a trial, but might be worth a try.
Otherwise, I am at a loss to explain why your H.264's are producing bad Audio on the PS3 (have never used one). It is also odd that by dropping the Video resolution down, or replacing it with synthetic Video, would have the affects that you describe - odd indeed, at least to me.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Dv video imported - Audio crackles and stutters

Ive been importing some of my old DV videos onto my computer using my JVC GR-DX97 Camcorder and firewire, the video seems ok but the audio keeps stuttering and crackling and sometimes just breaks up completely. the video and audio are both fine when played on my camcorder, anybody have any ideas what this could be!? thanks

more details: I have tried to import the video with two different camcorders but both have the same effect on the audio...

  • Audio crackling and stuttering in full screen.

Since the latest update everytime I go to full screen audio starts crackling and stuttering to the completly unbearable level. It happens both on firefox and ie. I disabled hardware acceleration, updated my audio and video drivers, deleted all the flash data (cache etc.), even reinstalled flash. I have no idea what else can I do. The problem never appeared before the update.

    Hi there
I think you are suffering from the same problem I am... just see my thread:

  • Slow performance, Audio Crackling and Stutters

I bought my Qosmio X775 7384 just 2 months ago and from the second I took it out of the box it seemed to underperformed, by which I mean it was about 1/2 as fast as my duel core 6gb RAM gateway desktop. I tried to ignore the issue and continued on with my work on my new laptop, using it mainly for music production. Every once in awhile I would get crackling and stutters, this I also tried to ignore but recently when I was in the middle of a performance it completely stuttered out and crashed the computer altogether, which was very embarrassing.
Since then the crackling and popping seems to happen during every song, either in my software, tunes, youth.... pretty much anything with sound has crackling and popping. My music software freezes and crashes and I am still extremely underwhelmed by its performance.
So far I have called and talked to support 3 times, the last time begging for a refund. They want to take my computer for repairs, IM not quite ready to give it up yet as I need it for performing. So here is what I have done.
I reinstalled every windows driver in my devices, I reinstalled every driver from this website and I have done a out of box restore. Nothing has helped.
I ran latencymon and its telling me that my isc and dpc routines are lasting too long for ndis.sys hdaudbus.sys iastor.sys and  i8042prt.sys and its telling me that at least one of my problems seems to be network related and that it looks like it could be battery related as well.
Right now I have stripped all unnecessary programs and upgraded my wifi to the euro version of atheros. I believe I have done everything possible to speed up and make my computer stop popping and stuttering and it continues to do so as well as spike in the red of my latency testers.
    Please help!

It sounds like you've done everything you can, especially considering that you did an out-of-box recovery. I'd agree that it's time to send it for servicing (or live with it, I suppose).

  • Premiere CC audio crackle and non-playback

Has anyone else seen in 7.2.1 and 7.2.0 when scrubbing or stopping and starting, the audio will either crackle or just not playback at all?  It's not consistent but fairly easy for us to recreate.  We're playing out of a Mac Pro (early 2012) 40Gb of Ram and AJA Kona 3 @ 10.4.8 with the Adobe package installed.  Footage is Pro Res LT [email protected]
    Thank you,

Sorry, I wasn't clear ... I am not using any AJA products, just Premiere on a 2014 MacBook Pro.
The only way I've found to "fix" this is to switch audio output hardware in the prefs ... I even made a shortcut for that panel.
    Still a major pain.
Seems to happen also every time I duplicate a sequence which uses a MultiCam source.
Also often happens with duplicated sequences in general.

  • Random Audio Crackling and Popping on playback in FCP and Pro Tools

    Hello All,
In both Pro Tools LE through an original MBox (with latest firmware), via USB and Final Cut Pro using an Edirol USB audio interface, I get random cracks and pops in different places that aren't in the actual audio files. They are not in the waveforms, and they never happen in the same spot twice...just random. There's no telling when they will be heard, but they are very loud and sharp, and I'm afraid of damaging my powered monitors, not to mention my nerves as I'm in the middle of an intense sound design for a film.
I've tried looking up this topic, and I've seen some topics mentioning sync/clock....like it's a problem with sync being generated internally, as opposed to using an external word clock generator. I never had this problem before on my older dual 2.0 PowerMac (PPC), and I really can't spring for a word clock generator right now...anyone else experience this with their Intel Mac Pro? I've looked for new firmware updates et al, but everything on the computer is up to date. This is really driving me nuts right now.
    PowerMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   Dual 1.8
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Dual 3.0

Interesting point about the winter/static. The only thing is that I never had those problems before with the same setup on my older dual 1.8 PPC G5 PowerMac, through several winters.
My current setup is a dual 3.0Ghz Intel Mac Pro with 3Gb of RAM. the RAM is the right kind and it has checked out as a-okay via numerous tests. The video card is the stock NVidea 7300 GT. For Final Cut Pro and general audio playback, I use an Edirol UA-1EX usb interface http://www.roland.com/products/en/UA-1EX/index.html (w/ updated drivers and all) hooked up through one USB port. For Pro Tools LE 7.3.1, I use an original Mbox, also updated with the latest firmware and all (got rid of the distorted noise problem with firmware update v22), also hooked up to a USB port. I used this exact same setup on my previous Dual 1.8 PPC G5 PowerMac with no such issues for several years. Both interfaces are routed to a Mixer, and onto my monitors. I don't think it's the mixer that's doing it because it didn't ever crackle/pop with my older G5, and still doesn't, which I still use for other things, but routed through the same sound system. I can understand the use of an external clock generator and such, but for many years, I never had this problem with random crackle/pop on playback with other computers that did not use an external sync/clock device. I would think that a computer as new and 'advanced' as the Intel Mac Pro would offer even better results than previous models. Again, the noises aren't printed onto the actual sound files, they come up randomly, but most often after adding a fade/volume change/effect and playing back.
I have just installed a PCI-Express USB 2.0 card for use with both the Edirol and MBox, just in case it was an issue with the built-in MAC USB ports. I will see if that helps.

  • Samsung Stratosphere In-Call Audio Crackling and Echo

Sometimes when I accept a call I notice that anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes in the speaker starts crackling with a weird distortion. It sounds kind of like one of those radiation detectors in the movies. The person on the other end hears echoing and not the noise itself. I would have thought this was due to a faulty earpiece but it is so intermittent I doubt it. Does anyone else have this problem? My phone is now 15 days old.

I've had my Stratosphere since about the beginning of February and I have had the same problem. During a call I'm told that my audio cuts out and also that the other party keeps hearing a clicking sound as the audio breaks up. I called someone today and left a voice mail. When I listened to it, prior to ending my call it was just a series of clicking sounds. I wound up sending the individual a text instead.
I've removed the battery and replaced it as well as done a system reset and also disabled the privacy settings. Help! I really like this phone but will need to make other arrangements if this isn't resolved quickly.

  • MSI GT70 2PE Audio Crackling Problem

Hello all, just hoping any tech geniuses can help me out here:
Whenever i'm playing any sort of graphically demanding games such as Far Cry 4, etc.. 5-10 minutes into the game, the speakers will start producing these audible crackling noises.. 1 minute later the audio slowly fades out along with the crackles from the right speaker to the left speaker.. Exiting the game will eventually bring back the audio to its normal state after a minute or two.. However, i've noticed that this doesn't occur when the laptop is running on battery alone..
    1. Already flashed to the latest BIOS
    2. Tested all sort of updates for the audio drives
    3. Resetted the PC to its original settings
None of the above worked :(

    Quote from: RX-8 on 18-March-15, 10:05:47
    1. If pressing "Fn+Num 0" to mute the sound, will the crackling sound also disappear? (To identify the noise from system audio or other noise)
    2. If pressing "Turbo Fan" function, will the crackling sound also disappear or get louder? (To identify it's the fan noise or other noise)
    3. If no warranty concerns, remove the bottom cover and remove the speaker cable and power on to wait for the noise again. (To make sure the noise is from speaker or electric components)
    1. If you mute or disable the speakers, you can still hear a low crackling or hissing. When you re-enable or unmute it gets louder again and can sometimes make a popping or hissing sound when toggled, but is always crackling.
    2. No, the only thing that causes the crackling to disappear is closing or alt tabbing out of a game back to the desktop, then waiting 1-3 minutes for the crackling to slowly get quieter, then finally disappear.
    3. Which cable is the speaker cable? is it the one just below the fan?
One thing I do not believe has been said here. When a speaker starts to "crackle" you can hear the real audio start to distort and get quieter before it switches to full on crackling noises and you cannot hear system audio any more.

  • SWF audio skips and noisy in VISTA

    Hi
My SWF audio files were working from a number of websites and
even on my PC in Vista. The last 3 to 4 weeks, all now are skipping
and garbled . When I access the same web site in XP all is OK. Even
when I play the SWF files right from VISTA PC they skip and are
    garbled.
Has something happened in Vista(..ugh) or Macromedia player?
    Any ideas?
