MSI gaphics cards will fit an MSI H77MA-G43 mobo

Hello folks,
Thanks for taking a glance at my question. I recently bought an MSI H77MA-G43 micro-atx motherboard.
I would love to get an MSI graphics card to go with it, I've read and heard a lot of good things about MSI cards.
Ideally I was hoping for a GeForce GTX 660 GAMING 2GD5/OC.
Not sure if it is in my price range so maybe an older card either: MSI N650Ti TF 2GD5/OC BE Twin Frozr or a 660TFi Twin Frozr with the same spec.
Can anyone tell me - will these graphics cards fit on a board that small (24.4x24.4 cm)?
Cheers
Brendan

Hi,
as long as the card fits your case, then it also fits your motherboard. If you would go for AMD, it even supports crossfire
"Slots
• 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots
- PCI_E1 supports up to PCIe 3.0 x16 speed
• 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 slot
-  PCI_E4 supports up to PCIe 2.0 x4 speed
• 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots "

  • Seeking another pair of eyes - MSI H77MA-G43 + i5 2500K

    Hello everyone,
I have read the CPU compatibility sticky and I think I have come to a conclusion but I wanted to run it past a larger group.
I have a MSI H77MA-G43 that won't POST (sits in a power cycle "infinite loop") and I *believe* it is possible my MSI H77MA-G43 has a BIOS that is not compatible with my i5 2500K CPU.
Using the CPU Compatibility checker for my motherboard (tried to post the link - cant) - I can see that 2500Ks with D2 stepping are supported on BIOS version 7756v10.
    Core i5   Sandy Bridge   i5-2500K   100   3.30   1M   6M   D2   95      7756v10.zip
So - I believe my issue may be I have an older motherboard BIOS and if I could find a spare CPU that will boot it - I could boot the BIOS and flash to upgrade it.
Does anyone have an opinions if that seems sane or not?
    Thank you,
    -A-

    Dear XFM and flobelix,
Edit: I finally read it correctly Flobelix - there is no version NOT supporting :-) -- Good news!!
XFM - I'm not home right now but I will post more detailed information. For troubleshooting purposes I only have RAM (single stick or dual stick tried both) and a Geforce Ti560 video card installed.
I'm running the system outside of a case and I've tried replacing the power supply with another one - and same behavior EXCEPT there are now 3 "medium" duration beeps that occur as the system cycles on and off power.
Edit: Nevermind - symptoms exactly the same. 3 Beeps was clearly memory - I didn't have the memory seated well when I did my single channel test. Checked memory seating VERY carefully and now (with new power supply) have the identical issue.
Edit Again: My old motherboard has 2 x4pin 12V ATX connectors and the "big" ATX connector with its additional little "4pin" add on. The new motherboard has the big connector (duh + 4pin) but it only has 1x4pin 12V ATX connectors....
Any chance this has something to do with it?
Tonight I re-thermal pasted my CPU hoping it was some kind of thermal shutdown issue...no change. Still endlessly loops - I'm going to let it sit for 30minutes endlessly looping and see if anything changes.
    Thank you,
    -A-

  • MSI H77MA-G43 AND INTEL 2ND GEN

    Hello,
i have made a budget pc for a friend with the following config:
    MSI H77MA-G43
    INTEL I5 2400
    MSI GTX 550 TI
I have installed all the drivers but i can´t get any audio or ethernet. I've read about this and i come to a conclusion that might be some problems of compatibility between h77 chipsets and 2nd generation intel processors, since h77 chipsets ware made for 3rd gen. processors.
I've already change bios, installed the latest drivers and updates the chipset controller, but nothing. Anyone can help me or do i have to change the board for a P67 chipset???
    Thanks in advance,

The board runs fine with an i5-2400 and bios 1.70:
    http://www.msi.com/service/download/bios-19052.html
Audio is already working with default Windows driver.
Make sure you've selected your speakers in the Playback Devices menu in Windows. It might use the VGA audio at the moment.
LAN is running fine with the Realtek driver: http://www.msi.com/service/download/driver-2697.html
What ME version is the board running on? You can check that in the Settings->System Status menu.

  • MSI H77MA-G43 - Windows XP, black screen with A3 code

    Hi,
I've just bought mb MSI H77MA-G43 and samsung SSD830 series.
    I have Windows XP.
I had to have set Sata mode to IDE beforee installing XP because Windows didn't see ssd.
Now it's ok but PC starts slowly. When I press power on button there is a black screen with A3 code and it takes some times(about 1-2 minutes) and next the Windows start normally.
What should I do to fix this issue?
    Thanks for replies.

If you want to install XP in AHCI mode you need to integrate the Intel AHCI drivers into an XP installation disk (with NLITE or XP ISO Driver) or load the drivers from a floppy disk during setup (Windows XP Setup only supports floppy drives/disks for that task, unfortunately).
I know that, I integrated drivers: "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Floppy Driver for 7x series" from that link http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H77MA-G43.html#/?div=Driver&os=XP%2032 but it didn't help. SSD was still undetected, so I change SATA mode to IDE to install XP.

  • Satellite P10: Which Wifi card will fit?

    HI
Im looking to fit a mini pci wifi card to my P10
model PSP10E-0RCJM-EN trouble is I don,t know which type will fit I seen several cards offerd that involve doing away with the wifi on off switch I would prefer to keep this feature so need to know what cards support it prefer a 54g card if poss.

    Hi
I have found that wireless card with part number PA3212U-3MPCR is the right one for your notebook. The problem is that this card is IEEE 802.11b with 11Mbps data transfer rate.
I don`t know which one with standard g will fit to your notebook. The best solution is to contact service partner. I am pretty sure that they have this kind of information.

  • Question-Nokia 2610 SIMM card will fit in........?...

My GF has a pay as you go-Mobile 2610 I bought her. I'd like to find another phone that's T-Mobile and might be able to adjust the sound better so she can hear. She refuses to use an ear bud so that's not an option.
I changed out my Moto V300 for a V195s without a camera (Workplace rules, no cameras) and as a bonus it turns up loud enough she can hear. But with pay as you go she's running down MY minutes and I need it for work calling me in.
I've been unemployed mostly for over a year but if I knew a better phone the SIMM card would fit in I could buy one off Ebay.
Phone stores and T-Mobile are useless. Their motivation is to sell you a new contract or a expensive brand new phone, not replace the ancient model with a used one.
Anyone know what the SIMM from this model will fit in that's also a T-Mobile phone or compatible with the network?
I'm sue there are tons of much nicer, great phones out there but they involve T-Mobile and they want to sign you to another contract or sell you a full retail price phone which I can't afford.  TIA

Sim cards are universal for all phones of whatever brands or models. The only things you have to consider is whether the phone you're buying is locked or not to a particular network.

  • Can I OC on a MSI H77MA-G43?

HI, i have a question about this board
I won it and now im curious is it possible to OC on it at all?
I've seen a lot of people claiming its not possible on H77 motherboard or only up to turbo multi level, is that true?
Also why does MSI promote 36% OC on this mobo, does it work or not, im planing to go I7 3770K and hopefully OC to ~ 4.5ghz.

OC Genie II provides an instant performance boost, optimizing CPU, memory, integrated graphics, and storage device performance with the function enabled.
    Benefits:
    - Overclock in one second
    - At least 36% boost in 3D gaming performance
    - Simple and easy – No need for complex BIOS setting and extra equipment
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H77MA-G43.html

The H series boards are limited to BCLK changes only and the CPU turbo in terms of CPU. The integrated GPU can be overclocked quite a bit.
If CPU OC'ing is intended then a Z series board is required. For the H series boards, a "K" series CPU is a waste.

  • Three beeps when booting new computer with MSI Z77A-G43 Mobo

I just built this pc and pressed the power button. Nothing happens for a few seconds and then I hear 3 beeps from the PC speaker. It powers off by itself and opens again, with 3 beeps again, and repeats this until i press the power button to close it down forcefully.
    Board: MSI Z77A-G43
Bios: I am not sure, but the box says Click BIOS II
VGA:   MSI 7850 Twin Frozr III
PSU:   Corsair Builder 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply
    CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor LGA 1155
    MEM: Corsair
HDD: 1 TB Western Digital Caviar Black
    COOLER: CoolMaster Hyper 212 EVO
    OC: none

3 beeps is a memory failure!
try each stick in slot 2 individually as you may possibly have a bad stick?
if the first suggestion doesn't work remove the CPU and check the socket as you may have a bent pin in there causing the issue?

  • Shoving 350W powercables into MSI H77MA G43

    Hi,
So I decided to buy a new(kindo oldish now) msi motherboard, with i5 Ivy bridge shiny thingy, and to keep my old(2007) 350W power block,
now the motherboard(G43) has two power blok slots 24 thingy slot for powering the motherboard and 8 thingy slot for powering the processor, BUT the old power block has three power cables(20,4,4) 20 thingys, 4 thingys and another 4 thingys, so I either can power up the motherboard(24 into 24) and partialy processor (4 into 8) or 20 into 24 and 4+4 into 8 slot processor power connection....
Either way I'm guessing I might end up with burned msi and fried shiny thingy :/
maybe buy new corsair power block 600W perhaps?

  • MSI H77MA-G43 ESXi NIC issues

Hello, I've read that numerous people on here have got this board to work with ESXi, I was wondering if you anyone had any issues with the onboard NIC? As my install isn't picking anything up, and I was wondering if you had to do anything special to get it to work?

check the socket pins under the CPU as it should automatically switch to PCI-E video card and your symptoms sound like the pins are bent under the CPU (random reboot and failure to access BIOS) and are not making appropriate contact!
also what PSU do you have?

  • Which Card Will Fit My G5 Power Mac?

I have a Power Mac G5, But my Graphics card is no longer working.
this is my spec on the the side panel:
    G5DP2.0/512MB400/160/SD/R9600/PCI-X/56K
Can Anyone tell me with a list of Graphics cards that i can put in this machine?
Thanks guys you would really be helping me out.
    Chris

    Hi-
Your G5 is 8x AGP Pro graphics (can't use the PCI express X1900).
The ATI Radeon X800XT, or the Geforce 6800 are good performance upgrades. For simply a graphics card, the ATI Radeon 9600 PC and Mac version could be an option, though there are reports of incompatibility in some G5's.
Discontinued Radeon 9800 SE and 9800 Pro models are also a possibility, though one needs to watch eBay (or such) for those. 9800XT or the 9600XT are also possibilities.

  • MSI H77MA-G43 Motherboard audio drivers

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and I really need help with a recent problem.
I recently updated my motherboard using live update 5, to the new realtek drivers and dolby trustudio pro. After the update, the two programs started clashing and would not work together. After many reinstalls of the two, i manage to get them both working again, but now they are a bit dodge. The main problem is that my subwoofer does not work with any music i play now. When i test it with the sound tester, it plays the normal tune that it plays for the front speakers, when it should play a more bassy, lower pitched sound. When i play music, it also doesnt seem to work or plays too low.
Usually there is an option in dolby which makes it louder (+15dB or whatever), and this is what i used to do to get the subwoofer working. However, that option doesnt do anything now.
I've done almost 25 reinstalls of both software, installed older version of both, and many other things, to no avail.
Also, recently i made a change to a bass.dll file in my C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder. Now im not sure if it was mean't to be there in the first place, and if it has anything to do with this problem. I've also removed it/added it, and had no success either.
PLEASE HELP!!!! I bought this motherboard specifically because it had 5.1 sound for my speakers, and now that doesnt work....

Are you using Windows 7 64bit? or Windows 8.1??
You mentioned that originally all is working well but problem happened after you do live update and now you try to reinstall everything but still got problem?
normally if you reinstall then it should work fine right?

  • H77MA-G43 Intel Turbo boost question.

    Hi,
so I've recently bought a MSI H77MA-G43 board to fit in my Intel i7 3770 (non K).
My question is that when I use some hw monitor to show which frequency my CPU is running, it is almost always running all 4 cores at 3.7Ghz. Even when I put load just on 1 core, all 4 cores rise up to 3.7Ghz. AFAIK if I run single threaded app it should turbo boost one core to 3.9Ghz right? Is it a problem or is this normal?
    Thank you

So is the behavior of my CPU turbo boost normal?
Might be, here is the answer from Martin (creator of HWiNFO) about my CPU.

Here is an example, different CPU but you will see the different turbo boost in the max column that were applied at some stage.
