MSI GE60 freezes after closing games.

I have had my GE60 laptop for roughly ½ a year now.
Since day one I encountered some problems with it freezing while gaming but lately it has just spun out of control. Whenever I shut down a game there is roughly a 80% risc that the laptop will just freeze up within the next 5-20 seconds. The fan is not very loud but I can still hear it turning down a little around the time it freezes. It does not seem to matter which game I am playing, I have even encountered the problem after playing Minecraft. Often the  only way to avoid it is closing windows immediately after closing the game.
When it freezes the screen stays turned on, but the mouse, clock etc. freezes and the only way out is a hard reset. About 90% of the time the hard drive indicator LED also stops flashing, and if i press Caps Lock there is no indicator for it either. Most of the physical buttons for WiFi, fan acceleration etc. works though.
I suspected video drivers to be the problem but updating them has been to no avail, so any other suggestion would be much appreciated.

It is Windows 7
no recovery cd? btw you can contact msi for recovery cd. otherwise if you have the windows serial key under your nb then you can just download windows 7 installation image from microsoft website and burn a cd with it to reformat your nb. if you do not have windows serial key under you nb then the serial key must be put into the bios and in this case proceed as same as the previous sentence. download and burn cd , reformat.

  • MSI GE60 freezes after RMA.

I have a MSI GE60 with i5-3210M and Geforce GT 650M, born with Windows 7, and I have had problems with it freezing, and requiring a manual restart, alomst since day 1.
The problem can occur almost anytime while using the Nvidia card both in games and while using 3D modelling software etc. I mainly encounter it in games though, and it seems to most often occur during cutscenes, loading screens and especially if I tab out of the game while playing. The screen image will simply freeze and the audio disappears. Most often the hard drive LED turns completely off, and the only way forward is to turn it off with the power button and reboot.
I figured it would be the GPU and applied for an RMA, which went through. The hard drive had also become quite slow, and the fan was noisier, which might be due to the countless hard resets. I just got it back today, and I was informed that they had replaced the hard drive, the fan, and the motherboard(which I  strongly assume includes CPU/GPU as well). It is much quieter and the hard drive gets better benchmarks too. However after having the laptop back for only a few hours i tested it with playing ArmA. I flew around in a chopper in the map editor for 3 minutes, and then i tabbed out of the game and back again, which led to the laptop freezing the same way as before the RMA.
I then figured that it could be a software problem, even though I have formatted quite a few times with the recovery partition. So I did a clean install and upgraded to Windows 8 in the progress, and lo and behold.. I started up ArmA again with the same outcome as last time.
So now I am left with 2 possible scenarios for what the error might be. It could either be the RAM, which is the only vital component that was not changed during the repair, although I have run 2 cycles of Memtest without any errors. Or it might simply be the type of motherboard in this laptop that is not up to the task of running computer games.
I would like to hear from other people who owns a GE60 with the same configuration, and whether they have had similar problems, or if I am just very unlucky. Because right now I am clueless as to what the problem is.

Maybe it might be the RAM anyways. I did a GPU stress test with with Furmark, where the temperature of the GPU seemed to be stable around 65-70 degrees. After ending the test though, the laptop froze almost immediately. An hour later i did a benchmark test in Hitman: Absolution and yet again the laptop froze right after ending the test.
After googling it, I stumbled across a few posts with the same issue being presented:
    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/267239-29-strange-computer-problem
    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1796554/computer-crashes-close-game.html
One specifically mentions a RAM issue: "Sounds like RAM issue (after a game is closed the ram needs to be cleaned up, and if there is a problem there it might crash)."
I tried running memtest86 4.3.7 for 4 cycles without getting any errors, but I do suspect the RAM tbh. It seems too freaky that a new motherboard/GPU would generate the exact same problem as the one it replaced imo.

  • Msi ge60 0ND ,, after making update for firmare :(( !!

    I've msi ge60 0nd .. and it's working correctly !
i'm making update 4 firmware ~~!!! without reason
and after update the wlan button turning off all the time ... but it's work !
how can i recover the firmware !??

I'm not really certain what you're trying to say you did.
Did you update the firmware or BIOS? Which one did you use?
Why did you update it 4 times?
    What OS are you using?
A little more information and a better explanation would get you an answer much quicker.

  • WDA view freezes after closing a WDA popup raised from a flex action

    Hi ,
I am facing a weird problem in one of our systems config as mentioned below. We trigger WDA event from flex (embedded in same WDA component) and open a window on that event. When we try to close this window it does close but the WDA view gets freezed ( like it usually happens while some flex event goes on ).I am facing this problem using IE8 , IE 7 but seems to work on Mozilla firefox 3.6
It gives a java script error on closing the window and then the view gets grayed but no error comes in Mozilla .More details can be provided if needed.

    Hi Frank,
no, not yet. I had the feeling that it's me who is doing something wrong. Declarative components are pretty common, right? So are taskflow calls in dialogs. Someone should have noticed if there's a bug in the framework, right?!
But I changed the scope of the bean (to backing scope and request scope) that the declarative component is bound to and I still get the error.
I will try to create a simpler test case, and if I can reproduce with that, then I will file a bug, if there's no one that can explain the phenomenon.

Hi, I have a problem with my MBP 15" (Lion 10.7.2, 2.3GHz, 8GB, 240GB). Everytime I quit (not close) an app the MBP freezes for 1 seconds two times.
If anyone had such thing, please advice what to do.
    Thanks

When I plug my iphone or ipad with my computer (see below) when finishing the sync it freezes and then I have force quit because of the "beach ball" after several minutes.  Not sure what is going on.  Anyone have same problem and solution?  Am I having memory problems?  I thought I have enough memory to handle multiple programs at the same time.  Help!  Here's "my mac" information:
The next question is what problems will I have with Lion if I am having problems now?

  • No screen after closing game

I'm running KDE 4.3, this is the first time happening this since sometimes it happens but gets back to draw the screen.
I was playing openarena for a while then decided to close the game, usually we all expect to get back to the main screen but it just gave me a black screen. Had to power off.
I also have a similar experience with KDM, when I log off KDM it just get me a black screen
any thoughts? I haven't touched the inittab file its the default well, I hope to get this fixed since I don't know when 4.3.1 is going to get released for fixes =/

Umm, I don't have any other application that goes fullscreen so I need to test with others *someone tell me some small games to Download and check*
All I know is that it ignores ctrl alt f7 *well, Function keys in general* and KDM is part of the problem too =/

  • Just after closing games installed on my computer, my firefox browser is automatically activated and takes me to that company's website; how can I disable this

These games are downloads from various websites (myfreegames.com; gametop.com; freeridegames.com; others) and the action is always the same - as soon as I exit or close-out a game, Firefox immediately opens, and connects me with that particular game company's website. There must be some way to disable this. Please help.

To Tylerdowner - thanks for the info; I was afraid there'd be nothing in the Firefox program itself. I'm guessing there must be something embedded in the game program file that is triggered when I close the program. Anyway, thanks again for the help.

  • Help MSI GE60 Fan keeps spinning to 100% and down every 10 seconds.

    Hello,
I just bought an MSI GE60 and after 4 days of using, The fan keeps spinning up and down every 10 seconds even when nothing is running on the laptop. Have tried updating the BIOS and the drivers, but no change.
Every time i turn on my laptop this always happen. It goes on when my laptop is on. Even if im not doing anything it still keeps spinning up and down. I checked the temperature and its at 40+ C and my CPU usage is normal. Basically im not doing anything and it keeps doing this fan spin up and down.
Even when the cooler boost is on or off, its still does the same thing, the fan keeps spinning up to 100% and down.
Do you think this is a software issue or hardware?  It is very annoying to hear the fan go 100% for 10 seconds then back to normal then back to 100% speed again and when i press cooler boost it doesnt do anything. So even tho the cooler boost button is off, it still keeps doing the 100% fan speed and back to normal again. It keeps repeating.
Can anyone help me solve this problem please? Thank you very much.

I have already tried uninstalling the S-bar and SCM drivers but still getting the fan noise. Also tried the no-battery and no-power reset for more than 24 hours but still having the same problems. The only thing that worked was changing the values in the RWeverything software. The only problem here is that it will work only until I shutdown the laptop. Once I do a cold boot I have to redo the RWeverything changes again.
    @reprieve.nagrand
thanks for your case. Can I ask you a few questions more, please?
    1. According to your model id your notebook came with just FreeDos, right? Could you please enter the Bios and go to System Information to confirm that you are using Bios 10F and EC version 14.04 (or 4.04)?
    2. I urgently need a screenshot of your EC-Page within RWeverything after a cold boot without any modifications. Please try to make the screenshot at that time, when you can barely hear the fan anymore during the spin-on / spin-off cycle.
    3. CoolerBoost: with a laptop that has been sitting idle for at least 20mins since last cold boot (no load, please!), can you turn on coolerboost by pushing the button somewhere to the left of the Powerbutton and let coolerboost run for at least 30 seconds. Then turn coolerboost off again and wait for the fan to slow down. Does the fan run continously after applying coolerboost or does it enter its off/on-cycle again. Please try it for at least 5 times and repeat it during other Windows sessions for two times. If this trick works, you are the man to make the video! Please help me out here. Please note, that the coolerboost trick will only work until there is load on the system again. If the fan speed picks up again due to load and slows down again, it will enter the annoying pattern, again.
    4. While still reviewing the case and going through my notes, I came across an entry that I reflashed the EC-Controller with the same firmware one or two nights before the problem disappeared. This happened after uninstalling S-Bar and SCM earlier. So, if you are familiar with DOS-Flashing using USB-Sticks you could try to reflash the EC-Controller, than remove all power sources for at least 20 mins. If anyone else is experiencing the problem, please go ahead and report your findings. But please do the reflash only if you are familiar with such things and of course, please do so on your own risk!
Current status and work in progress:
As I haven't gotten hand on a video proofing that simply pushing the coolerboost fan button makes the problem temporarily go away, I am still stuck on there. The coolerboost solution works until the system load increases so much, that the fan level has to be raised. When the system load goes back to idle again, the fan level decreases and enters the off/on-cycle again.
The good news is I managed to customize a programm called fan control tools to somehow automatically apply the changes in RWeverything via a small GUI. This tool will also allow you to set fan profiles for Office, Games, etc. The bad news is, that this will trigger UserAccountControll at least once and it doesn't reapply after a cold boot or returning from hibernate, yet. I am now currently working on a solution that allows the new fan values to be set by Windows automatically using a batch file. This will apply the new values after a normal Windows boot, but not when returning from hibernate, though.
However, if you have found your remedy value for the fan issue within RWeverything, you can turn to Svet in the subforum "Notebook Modified & Private BIOS'ses & EC-FW". He will certainly be able to create you a custom EC-FW with those values written permanently in it.
    My case:
The fan problem with my notebook has not (yet) returned. It has been running without S-Bar/SCM just fine. It can even process all fan profile alterations I have made. So, am I just lucky? While I do believe, that the fans of those notebooks experiencing the issue could be "somewhat odd", I find it hard to believe that my fan really suffered a mechanical problem. Without doing anything mechanical wise, my problem went away.
@Warner: I promised to present more videoproof of the case, but unfortunately I haven't managed to get a hold on a suitable video, especially since my unit has been running fine for the last weeks. Please be patient, if I have enough evidence I will post it asap.
One question bothers me though: looking at the EC-page of RWeverything, I was wondering if these are really all values, that the EC handles and checks. Are there any other values, variables that the EC manages and that are not displayed on the EC-page of RWeverything? The reason for asking this, is because I have a video showing the ECpage of RWeverything while the fan does his off/on-cycle and you can clearly see the RPMvalue correspond to the actions of the fan. As you pointed out, the boosts occur because the EC is missing a fan signal, I could clearly see the RPM value at offset 0xCD respond to the actions of the EC. If the controller looks for that value only, it should surely see the RPMs of the fan, as I can see them in RWeverything. So, I was wondering if the EC has other values not shown in RWeverything, that determine if the EC should enter the boost cycle?
While having another look at that video again, to me it appears as if the EC does this really on purpose. It tries to reduce the voltage of the fan to a point so low, that the fan simply starves. Then it boosts the fan up again. The only question is: why does the EC do that? Is there a leftover setting inside the EC - perhaps from another notebook - where such low RPMs were achievable?
You can find the video here in this zip-file: http://www.file-upload.net/download-7371226/MSI.rar.html
In the zip-file you will find three numbered videos, the first one is the most interesting as it shows the annoying fan cycle while the laptop is running idle. In the second one, the user put load on the system using prime95. The third one shows the system while it cools off again after prime95 has been stopped. Sadly, the video is too short as the system doesn't reach its lowest fan state again. The videos were taken in march in Germany, so the ambient temperature is around 20-21 °C or less (normal room temperature in Germany).

  • MSI Neo2 K8N Platinum - Freezing Issue during games

First off greetings to everyone on these forums...
I purchased the MSI Neo2 K8N Platinum motherboard from NewEgg back at the end of March to compliment the AMD 64 "Winchester" processor that I also purchased at that time to replace a slightly older AMD XP "Barton" system that was using the Abit NF7-S motherboard. For the past month I have been fighting an unusual and highly irritating issue that I have noticed during game play and have tried everything that I know of and more in an attempt to remedy this issue, but to no avail. This is the general background of the situation and now I will descibe in greater detail as to what this issue I am referring to is and the symptoms of this issue and some of the various methods used to remedy this issue.
The issue is that while play a game the system experiences a short 5-10 second freeze during the game randomly, but usually several times an hour. During this freezing the sound would loop and as suddenly as the freeze occurs it would cease and the game would continue on as if nothing happened. However, sometimes this would result in the system freezing outright after this short 5-10 second freeze... but it does not feel like a total system freeze, but rather a video freeze as the sound continues and I still have keyboard control... but this does require me to force a manual reboot of the machine itself. I have scowered the internet and various forums in an attempt to find what the issue was and use various methods to remedy this issue, but so far nothing has worked in my favor... but it does seem like this issue has been plaguing other users with the MSI Neo2 Platinum motherboard. Below are some of the methods that I have used in an attempt to solve this issue:
*Default Clock for CPU/Memory/GPU; Over/Under Clock for CPU/Memory/GPU
*Increased voltages to CPU VID, AGP, and Memory
    *Disabled/Enabled AGP Fast Writes
*Increased AGP Aperture from 64MB to 512MB
*Enabled/Disabled ATI/nVidia Speedup option in BIOS
*Forced AGP clock lock to 66-67mhz
    *Relaxed/Aggressive memory timings
    *APIC enabled/disabled
    *Gate A20 turbo/normal
*Disabled all unneeded onboard components (Realtek NIC, Sound, SATA)
*Disabled nVidia MAC and attempted to use 3Com Gigabit PCI card instead
    *Swapped HDD Cables
*Tried PCI Sound Card (SB Audigy2 ZS Gamer) in PCI Slots 3/4
*Tried video drivers from 71.89 Official to 76.45 beta modified drivers
*Tried 5.10 official nForce drivers to remixed 7.02 nForce drivers (5.10 drivers uses 4.36 GART, higher drivers uses the 4.40 GART)
*Applied all the latest updates from Windows Update Website
*Reinstalled Operating System (Windows XP SP2) 5 different times clean with various settings (APIC on/off, etc...) and different drivers.
*Installed Audio Card (SB Audigy2 ZS Gamer) with older and the latest drivers available from Creative's website
    *Replaced PSU (Previously was a Thermaltake 420watt PSU, 18A +12v) with a OCZ Modstream 520watt PSU (28A +12v)
*Video card is KNOWN working from previous build (AMD XP 3000, Abit NF7-S)
*Hard Drive is KNOWN working from previous build
*CD/DVD-ROM drive is kNOWN working from previous build
*Heat is not an issue... all components temperature is well below rated level, the only unknown is the chipset temperature (it has a active heatsink and seems to not be hot to the touch, applied AS5 to it anyway)
*Used latency tweak to the video card
*Used Rivatuner to force constant performance level
*Tweaked BIOS to force even clock rates and forced 1.4v to the GPU Core
    *Used original GPU BIOS
    *Used MSI Neo2 K8N Bios 1.4 - 1.8 and modified BIOS 1.8
*No background applications are running (not even antivirus)
*Used application to force maximum refresh rates for my monitor
*Memory passed MemTest86+ for over 24 hours
*System passed Prime95 and SuperPi for over 24 hours
*System seems stable in all non gaming related applications
    *Checked through various troubleshooting procedures
    *Disabled SBDRVDET.EXE using MSCONFIG
*There are no IRQ conflicts outside of PCI system management sharing IRQ11 with the NIC and USB... in APIC there are no IRQ conflicts what so ever. Regardless neither method worked
*Installed AMD 64 drivers from AMD
    *Disabled DEP in boot.ini
*...and many other various tweaks and modifications.

I have been fighting this issue for well over a month now and I am frankly nearly out of ideas, this does not necessarly prevent me from playing games, but this does interfere with the games I do play (especially online games). I do demand absolute stability from the games that I play and this issue only began AFTER I upgraded to the new motherboard, processor, and memory. The only thing I have not tried is something that I do not have access in attempting on this motherboard, and that is increasing the voltage to the chipset.
Here is my theory on what is going on is that I believe is there is a fault with the chipset on this motherboard and this is manifesting itself while I am playing various games on this system. Of course I would like to try increasing the voltage to the chipset as that would increase stability, but there is no option in BIOS to increase the chipset voltage like the previous motherboard I had (Abit NF7-S). It is possible that either a) the chipset is at fault and is causing me this issue or b) the chipset is not recieving enough voltage.
My question to the rest of you is this, what do you think the problem is and what ideas do you have that I may try that I have not tried yet. Additionally if there is nothing else that I may try should I attempt to RMA this motherboard and will that help, and is there any other versions of this motherboard that I should be aware of. I would appreciate any response from a MSI representative and any comments from those that may have positive suggestions for my issue. Thank you in advance for your time and any help that you may be able to render.

Does it only happen in online games, or can it happen in all games? One thing to make sure of is to turn off CRC checksum offload in your NVidia MAC properties (everyone do this, it is incorrectly calculating checksums which leads to servers ignoring your packets). However as you have tried a different network card you can discount this theory.
For me it looks like the biggest culrpit is your 6800NU, i have read alot of bad things about the NU and you have a low bios revision there, just because it worked well against your old chipset doesnt mean it will work well against your current chipset. Sounds like a BIOS fix is needed as some timing is out somewhere.
Ensure Spread Spectrum is off (and as you have already pointed out Fast writes, ATI NV Speedup) and your card is running at default clock.
As a test beg/borrow/steal another graphics card (preferably nvidia) and see how it goes so you can narrow in on your video card.
It is not just one game, but it is more prodominate in certain games than others... the game in question here is Planetside... though I stuck a demo of Unreal Tournament 2004 on a loop bot match and it seemed to have locked up after 4 hours (not sure how many times it experienced that 5-10 freeze as I went to bed). As for the video card it was KNOWN working from a previous build in those same games (Previous build was a AMDXP3000 and a Abit NF7-S nForce2 motherboard). The only components different in this build is the AMD64, the MSI Neo2 K8N, 2 new sticks of Corsair XMS to replace the Corsair ValueSelects, and the SB Audigy2 as I would never use a software codec audio solution. Spread Spectrum is LOCKED in BIOS and disabled... ATI/nVidia speed up was disabled from the start... and I tried the Video Card at default clock, over clocked, as well as under clocked and the same issue resulted... as I said before it is NOT the video card.
There are two other things I could try is use my old Geforce4ti 4200 and see what happens... or even try out WindowsXP 64-bit edition as someone earlier suggested. I wish I could find a new BIOS for my XFX 6800NU, but there there is only the revision 1 BIOS that I was able to find. The mystery continues...

  • Msi p45 platinum - freezes after power save turns off displays

Just put this computer together, everything is stock, no overclocking. Seems to run fine, played a few hours of modern warfare 2 with no issues.
I noticed It seems to freeze after the monitor gets turned off by the power save mode. I just tested this by setting it to turn off displays after 1 minute of inactivity, waited watched the monitor turn off, then I went to the move the mouse and the screen came back on but the cursor would not move. sometimes the screen will not even come back on.
I have turned the computer on, left the room while it was booting to eat breakfast or take a shower, came back the screen was still on but the computer was frozen. Window 7 login screen was up, but there were some graphic glitches. this has happened a couple of times.
If I manually put the computer to sleep it seems to come back properly.
msi p45 platinum 1.6 bios, optimized defaults loaded
    e5200 intel dual core @2.5 ghz, 200FSB 12.5 multiplier

    nvidia gtx 260 (195.63 drivers x64)
    win7 ultimate x64
    enermax 720w powersupply

I think it might be the video card or power supply. Was building two systems,
second system has identical motherboard, processor and ram,
galaxy gts 250 instead of the evga gtx 260.
antec 430 earthwatts  instead of Enermax EIN720AWT 720W Power Supply
Installed from same OS disc and same set of drivers. Second system seems to operate the powersave mode for the monitor correctly. Will have to do some testing switching videocards tonight.

  • MSI GE60 0NC Problems After Upgrade

    Hi,
Recently downgraded my MSI GE60 0NC from Windows 8 to Windows 7. Had some issues with the wireless connectivity. I then flashed the laptop to Windows 7 EC controllers. It was then working after this. I then purchased a Samsung 840 Pro SSD 512GB and Corsair Vengeance 16GB. After installing the SSD I then proceeded to do a fresh install of Windows 7. After downloading the wireless drivers I am being told that the drivers may be out dated. I dont understand what the issue is as the did the exact same procedure as before.
Can anyone help me out please as the laptop is useless at the moment

Thanks for the reply, check the first thing i wrote, i explained it a bit, also check the screenshot. I think that could be the problem, but im not that good with laptops so im not sure.. "MSI suite" cant find my motherboard so the program wont execute..
edit: i've already tried the SCM that you linked, i get some errors with net framework so it wont execute after the setup..

  • FPS / Stuttering Issues (Overheat , Speedstep Issues ? ) MSI GE60 2PE APACHE PRO

    **EDIT**
Unable to post direct image links , please ad HTTP:// before links
Good evening Fellow Gamers and Adepts.
I come to you tonight with a serious doubt , which has rattled me for a while , and after some intense troubleshooting i have came up blank.
    Here's the deal , as stated , i have a MSI GE60 2PE apache Pro
Now , playing cs go has been the bane of my existence, i am aware there are heating issues with this laptop , but those have been fixed by a Thermal repaste, a cooling pad and the backplate removed.
Now i have no more throttling of CPU , and GPU appears to handle fine aswell; the thing is i keep having MASSIVE lag spikes in CS:GO , and apparently they are being cause by CPU issues.
    Image for clarification .
(Standart situation , notice the relative low fps for a old game)
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80
After a few seconds the following occurs
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#1
Notice the fps drop and the CPU frequency percent alert in game
another shot of this in console so you can see the several occurrences

now keep in mind that these are the lowest game settings, in Fullscreen windowed mode , if i even CONSIDER putting it on standart fullscreen i get unplayable jitterness and fps that range from 10 to 80 , all in a second.
Now , as i have stated i have fooled around and disabled speedstep in the bios , meaning that the cpu is always at 100%, seeing i have removed the backplate , throttling is not an issue as IXT (Intel extreme tuning) can attest.
note aswell the "active core count" spikes to 4/3 in the exact moments of the stutters, meaning that both problems should , in theory , be connected .

can ANYONE give me an ideia of whats going on ? i rather enjoy playing with games with friends , but this is driving me up the wall..

  • Stop error 0x000000D1 in MSI GE60 0nd/0nc

    Hello,
i just I just bought a few days ago the laptop MSI GE60 0nd/0nc and until now got few blue screens..
all of the blue screens have the same .
the stop errors is 0x000000D1 ..
Picture of one of the blue screens:
files and data of my blue screens:
    dropbox.com/s/qftex61g2hsqkv1/Minidump.rar
I do not know why this is happening.
But until now I have tried several things to solve the problem that information I can provide:
When I bought the computer, the computer came without an operating system (Windows). it was only freeDOS.
I installed Windows 7 (the X17-24281.iso copy from here - official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads-t12325.html with Valid serial i have). Then the blue screen happened to me at the first time. the First blue screen was happened to me while I was trying to change the my partitions in my Hard Disk Through the "Create and format a hard disk partitions" in Windows 7.
I can say definitively - it happened on a clean Windows - Before I installed any drivers from my disc that came with the computer.
But the first blue screen not saved and documented. It is not included in the download, and it's not in the images.
I re-installed windows and it is deleted.
The other times it happened to me was after i have installed the drivers.
and this was happen not when i played games..
Most times it happened when i used the softwere 3ds max 2013.
The strange thing is that it did not happen and not even once in heavy game when the computer work most hard.
I played for hours the game Far Cry 3 on ULTRA settings and no blue screens at all..
    this point is very strange.
not all of my blue screens happened While 3ds max 2013 running but most of them.
i downloaded the software "bluescreenview" and Every time i got a blue screen, i looked in that Software.
Most of the blue screens was Show me that the broblem is with the ntoskrnl.exe.
but by Search on Google - this info was not good enough for me because According to Google - this exe do Lots of general things.
Yesterday i got a new blue screen with the same Error Message - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
but this blue screen gave me more info About the problem -
According to "bluescreenview" i saw that there was Another file (with the ntoskrnl.exe) that Caused the problem.
    that file is "netwsw00.sys" -
I did a Google search and it gave me much more information ..
The problem is with the intel wireless card.
After some searching, I came to a topic at Intel forum:
    communities.intel.com/thread/33377?start=15&tstart=0
In this topic people have complained about this problem (Blue screen).
On the second page of the topic someone gave a link to an old driver for the intel wireless card.
he said that he Does not have that problem with this driver. the old driver version is 14.2.0.10.
so i installed this driver and after that i thought I solved the problem...
Because after that I did not get a blue screen for a long time ...
I turned on the 3ds max and for hours - laptop worked properly.
I did a lot in that time. I played far cry 3 and I used a lot on the computer.
but at the end - it happened again. While 3ds Max and Photoshop running.
This was a blue screen with the same message.
I do not know what to do.
    Please help me!

Ok, first off, the link you provided does NOT pertain to you at all. Your problem is pertaining a stop error. The problem at that link is related to the e22w8x64.sys which is completely different.
Are you overclocking the computer at all?
Are you 100% certain that the hard drive is NOT failing?
    You are right.
But I'm sure that it is the Wii-fi.
Because the file netwsw00.sys related to the intel wireless card.
and i found a topic about BSOD with this file on intel forums and i tried the solution but it does not solve my problem.
    i also installed these drivers:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=164835.msg1215981#msg1215981
for the killer network divice in case that the problam is with the killer network.
what i am doing is to search BSOD problems with the intel wireless card and just try the solutions even if those problams is not the same as my.. i just think that maybe one solution might would solve my problem.
In fact, I think I found someone's topic here with the same problem:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=168821.0
The solution there is to disable the 802.11n.. but i have more ideas and I want to try it and I would rather try anything because it's the last option for me.
By the frequency of these blue screens, the impression I get is that it's a case of instability.
These blue screens happen after activities related to intel wireless card.
For example - it happened after I turned of the wii-fi and then turned on through the S-Bur.
The last time it happened to me was when I tried to get into online mode in some game.
But because I can not make more blue screens by repeating the steps I did, it leads me to think that the problem is instability.
I tried to think what causes instability and that's all that came to mind:
    * Heat
    * memory leak in the intel wireless card or something similar
    * Hardware problem in intel wireless card
So what I thought to do now is set that the intel wireless card will not work too hard.
And I think I found a place to set it but I'm not sure.
In Device Manager I pressed right button on the intel wireless card and then I clicked on "Properties".
in "Advanced" tab i found that these are the options I can change:
My goal is to change everything that might cause the card to work harder ..
so i thought to change "Transmit Power" and ""Roaming Aggressiveness"
Both of them were defined to "5. Highest".
    i changed it to "2. Medium-low".
i hope that it will solve the problem...

  • MSI GE60 0ND problems with graphics

    Hi everybody.
I bought my MSI GE60 0ND about half a year ago, and I've recently restored it. This isn't the first time I've done that.
This time though, my graphics are really terrible. I've installed the proper drivers and even tried to use older drivers for the GPU just in case the driver was the trouble maker. According to notebookcheck.net my GeForce GTX 660m should be able to run a game like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive really smooth. This isn't the case, tough. When first starting it out, it runs with around 80-120fps, but after a few minutes, it's down to 30-50fps.
The power setting is set to "gaming". The driver is set to use the Nvidia graphics card both global and in-game. I've tried all kinds of different settings in-game.
Another thing worth mentioning is, that when I disable the integrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4000), the Nvidia driver suddenly can't find the GeForce gfx-card.
Does any one have an idea what is wrong? If you need more information, please just ask for it :-)
    Thanks in advantage!

Are you playing while plugging in and charging?
    It's charging :-)

What are your temperatures when the FPS drops? Use CoreTemp to measure the CPU and MSI Afterburner to measure the GPU. That's a good place to start. Report what the temperatures are when the FPS drops and we'll see if high temperatures are your issue or not.
    Here is a screenshot .
The CPU-temperatur seems way too high, but I'm setting with the laptop on my lap, and it doesn't seem almost 100degrees to me :-D Could it be wrong?
BTW, does anything else seem weird to you?
And thanks for the help both of you! :-)

  • MSI GE60, TDR

Hi, I recently bought(4-5 weeks) a MSI GE60 which I am very happy with, it suits me really well.
Recently there has been a recurring problem, it all just suddenly started from nowhere I would get these messages from Windows that the Nvidia driver has stopped and recovered. It started when I was in-game in LoL, it would be less frequent throughout the game and eventually just disperse until I started a new game the cycle would begin again. Eventually I got it work without getting any TDR errors after my friend told me to change to Prefer maximum performance. I could finally smoothly play LoL and BF4, except all the BF4 crashes:D which I found a soloution too thank god. But it all began again a week ago now it is like constant even if I open the LoL client I get the TDR error I tried to set the PC back to factory setting, refresh it so far nothing has helped.
I have looked at the temperatures it all normal, I doubt it has something to do with overheating really hard to think that the fan is already clogged.
Just as I wrote the last sentence I think I made a breakthrough, I was starting LoL to get a screeshot for this post and I noticeded that it didn't crash and the charger wasn't plugged in. I tried it with the charger put in and it immediately crashed, worked for BF4 too.
Anyone who can narrow this issue down? What can possibly cause this, bad charger?
Notice, English is not my first language and is there anything I can provide for you please tell me and thank you!
Edit: I also noticed that the blue light on the power button doesn't appear anymore at all even tho the charger is in or out.
Here is a picture of me opening the LoL client and getting an error

It crashes when I get into the login screen for LoL, BF4 just instant crashes because of the game, but I really doubt it would work without getting the TDR error. Same goes for WoW.
EDIT: I also get the error when I'm in the NVIDIA control panel - Adjust image settings with preview, the spinning icon just stops and I get the error
