  • MSI GE62 2QE Apache won another award from notebookinfo.de (Germany)

The media from Germany, notebookinfo.de, gave the MSI GE62 2QE Apache a GOOD award to praise its balanced design on mobility and performance.
The original article is here http://www.notebookinfo.de/tests/notebooks/msi-ge62-2qewi78h11-apache-haeuptling-unter-den-15-zoll-gaming-notebooks/683/
Quotes "The MSI GE62-2QEWi78H11 is a balance between mobility and performance. There are gaming notebooks with more powerful graphic cards, however, you have to sacrifice the SSD configuration and live with more than 2.4kg weight or lose money on the price. Our GE62 tester comes with a good display, presents the majority of the current games in Full HD with ultra details and are smooth and getting high scores thanks to the fast cultivating/development speed in SSD. One of the strengths of the MSI includes comfortable SteelSeries keyboard with large adjustable lighting. Our overall conclusion is positive, as a gaming notebook, the GE62 has given us a lot of fun."
    PROS:
    Solid overall performance
Good Full HD display with IPS technology
    Comfortable SteelSeries keyboard

It's impressive to know this great improvement, cooling system is very important no matter you're hardcore or general user.

  • MSI KT4V-L User Review.

    MSI KT4V-L User Review.
The price of the mother board suprised me for what it was it seemd very cheep only £81 anyway,
I removed my old board and started to set the KT4V-L up and found it easyer than any other motherboard i have used.
I did not have to ajust any jumpers on the mainboard because everythign is in the bios also booting is a lot faster because
the boot is bypassed you now hit F11 and select your boot device. After i had set the bios to my preferd settings i
installed windows, the instalation went smooth and fast, When i was into Windows (XP) and had installed the motherboardes
drivers you really notice the speed of the board and the VIA KT400 chipset and is also very very stable, basicly this
motherboard is to good the only problems i found are with the Onbored Lan and the AC97 Audio. The Onbored Lan is good but
with my router when i need to restart it i have to unplug the system because when shut down the Lan is still active but i
also tested it with no router connected and had the same problem sometimes on first boot the net wont work but you can just
reboot and its fine also there is a Flash avalable for the lan option but i dont know if this prblem is in it. The sound
is very good but if you dont install windows and the drivers in a serten way the sound may not work, this is how i did mine.
    Windows XP
    Chipset Drivers
    Service Pack *Latest*
    Sound Drivers
    USB 2.0
    DirectX *latest*
    Graphix
    Mouse
    Lan
(Note!) Even though after installing some drivers it does not ask to reboot it is best to!
    And mine works fine
All in this motherboard is superb and as i used a MSI motherboard *MS-6340* for 2 years befor this upgrade all i am seeing
is good things well done MSI and keep up the good work.

  • FPS / Stuttering Issues (Overheat , Speedstep Issues ? ) MSI GE60 2PE APACHE PRO

    **EDIT**
Unable to post direct image links , please ad HTTP:// before links
Good evening Fellow Gamers and Adepts.
I come to you tonight with a serious doubt , which has rattled me for a while , and after some intense troubleshooting i have came up blank.
    Here's the deal , as stated , i have a MSI GE60 2PE apache Pro
Now , playing cs go has been the bane of my existence, i am aware there are heating issues with this laptop , but those have been fixed by a Thermal repaste, a cooling pad and the backplate removed.
Now i have no more throttling of CPU , and GPU appears to handle fine aswell; the thing is i keep having MASSIVE lag spikes in CS:GO , and apparently they are being cause by CPU issues.
    Image for clarification .
(Standart situation , notice the relative low fps for a old game)
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80
After a few seconds the following occurs
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#1
Notice the fps drop and the CPU frequency percent alert in game
another shot of this in console so you can see the several occurrences
    imgur.com/cJ2Ly80,27y1P5C,aq30R4r#2
now keep in mind that these are the lowest game settings, in Fullscreen windowed mode , if i even CONSIDER putting it on standart fullscreen i get unplayable jitterness and fps that range from 10 to 80 , all in a second.
Now , as i have stated i have fooled around and disabled speedstep in the bios , meaning that the cpu is always at 100%, seeing i have removed the backplate , throttling is not an issue as IXT (Intel extreme tuning) can attest.
note aswell the "active core count" spikes to 4/3 in the exact moments of the stutters, meaning that both problems should , in theory , be connected .

can ANYONE give me an ideia of whats going on ? i rather enjoy playing with games with friends , but this is driving me up the wall..
Lastest NVIDIA / Laptop drivers installed ; Bios Updated and EC firmware aswell.
Thank you for your time guys x)

  • MSI GE60 2PF (Apache Pro)-609UK

    Hi All
I'm new to forum so hello!
I'm looking to buy my son a mid-range gaming laptop, he doesn't need anything crazy fast and have come across the MSI GE60 2PF Apache Pro.
Only thing is, when I do a search for the laptop itself in a search engine it doesn't bring that information up about it.  The specs according to the website are as follows:
    Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ Quad Core Processor
    15.6" Full HD Screen
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit
    16GB DDR3 RAM
    128GB SSD + 1000GB 7200 RPM HDD
    DVD Rewriter
    Dedicated GTX 860M 2GB Graphics
    USB3 | HDMI | Bluetooth
    2 Year MSI Warranty
Does anybody know any more about this laptop?
    Thanks

Yeah, that's the one.  Was looking for more "hands on" experience though.
The real issue I have is that this laptop is about £200 cheaper than the GE60 2PE laptop.  I can't see any differences with the two other than the PF has the 4810 and the PE has the 4710 processor.  Just seems a tad weird that the PF is a lot cheaper...  Just wondering if I'm missing something glaringly obvious?

  • Mod EC FW for msi gt72 2QD

  • GE62 2QD: Core i7 4720HQ and GTX960M Burn-In test is great!

Just tested GE62 with GTX960M graphics, with Prime 95 for Core i7 4720HQ, and MSI Kombustor for GTX960M,
the critical Burn-In test for both CPU and GPU, we could see the CPU remain under 88C, and GPU under 79C,
more over, CPU still keep high frequency over 2.4GHz, not like others, VN7 down to 800MHz, G551 at 1.1GHz.
So that's why we need great performance model like MSI Gaming notebooks, because at this price segment,
only MSI gaming notebooks did not drop the CPU clock a lot, it works great with it's 4 heatpipe cooling design!

  • Say Goodbye to my old desktop! Got my new high mobility and performance MSI GE70 2PC Apache!

Time to get rid of my old PC, which is barely can run latest games. So, after I made some researches online, I decided to buy MSI GE60 2PC Apache. It perfectly matches my budget.
The box inside comes with black design. The notebook is protected by a black sleeve.
The packing includes a power adapter, MSI branded gaming mouse, a battery, CD, and manuals. I especially like the adaptor design in slim and compact size.
The metal brush front cover looks gorgeous. I like the red dragon badge with backlight enabled. This is one of my favorites in this notebook. I believe it will make my new notebook stand out from the other Apxle notebooks when I use it in my campus. “The fruit” is not the only shining star anymore. 
There is a red line on the side~~
Here comes my new notebook. Btw, the packing also comes with a MSI bag.
The labels says it features with Matrix Display (extend to 3 external monitors), Killer lan (network for gaming applications), Steelseries keyboard, and Audio Boost.
The touch pad is in one piece. Again, metal brush!!
Intel i7 and NVIDIA GTX 850M inside of my new baby. 
Audio system is powered by DYNAUDIO. As I checked online, this is a Danish brand and seems to be very famous. 
Steelseries keyboard~ I think I don’t need to mention what Steelseries is. All gamers should know it.
I found one thing very special that the Windows key is moved to the right. According to MSI website, it is for games not to mis-touch the Windows key in gameplay. Very ergonomic design for gamers.
It has an individual numerical key area. Good for my accounting courses.
He he he… I used my Cannon digital camera for below full color backlight keyboard picture! I tried several shots. This one is the best one to show. Anyway, the point here is the color configurations can be customized!!
    720P webcam!
On the left, you can find one HDMI, two USB3.0, golden audio jack with Audio Boost feature, and one combo memory card slot.
On the right, you can find one RJ-45 with Killer lan feature, one VGA port, two USB2.0, and BD Combo drive.
The panel can be opened up to roughly 135 degree. I think it is good enough. I am not going to use it as a tablet.
Sound by DYNAUDIO with 2.1 surround audio channel!
The close-up of the shining dragon logo on the front cover.
    I find a secret feature.
When the notebook is running by Intel integrated graphics, the power indicator shows blue. However, when it is running by NVIDIA graphics, the indicator shows red.
Very good feature for me to know if the NV graphics is on when I play games.
Signal Indicators show wireless, Bluetooth, hard disk, and power status.
Okay, now it is the time to start the live demo.
Oops…my friend is calling me….need to go out with my friend now. After I finish the basic settings, I will find time to make real gameplay demo and share with you later.

Back again for my part 2 sharing.
Here is my testing result of 3DMARK on my MSI GE60 2PC Apache.
    X7654
    Boot up time - SSD
    Sleeping dog - FPS
Need for Speed – FPS average 60 FPS. (this game only supports max 60FPS)
All settings are set to max
    Conclusion:
The metal brush design on front and keyboard sides looks decent. I love its 17” FHD display which is good for playing games, watching videos, typing my reports in a comfortable way. After I got this, it is difficult for me to go back to smaller display.
I expected that online streaming could cost a lot of system resource. However, its Gamecaster Xplit online streaming feature surprised me! No lag and very easy to use! Its quick boot-up time with SSD and GTX 850M gave me a whole new PC experience.
The Haswell i7-4700HQ and NVIDIA GTX 850M are sufficient enough for games and online streaming. Not to mention it also carries Steelseries keyboard which is a Plus when I play games. I am glad that I decided to buy this GE70 2PC Apache to replace my old desktop because it can satisfy all my needs for gaming, multimedia, and document editing.
If you have the same demand as me and also looking for a notebook, it is worthy to give it a shot on MSI GE70 2PC Apache!!
