MSI Ge620dx i3 Webcam is dark

Hi all,
I would like to ask on why my webcam is dark and I think this is not fine even if I edit the contrast and brightness.
I want to know if I had the right webcam.
In my device manager it says that my webcam is Bisoncam, NB Pro.
Is this the right cam for this unit of notebook?

Can I install an SSD into my MSI GE620DX laptop?
Couldnt find any information on the site or the manual about that, Im thinking of ordering an SSD but I dunno if I can put whatever type of SSD in there.
The 128gb SSDs in sweden are just in my price-range right now and it would be reeeally nice to check out how fast this thing can run... :D.
My laptop is the i5-2410m-version.
Reason I wanna upgrade to SSD is obviously because of improved performance but also that I can probably turn the current built-in HDD into an external device maybe? I am setting up my laptop for music production and I just want a fast SSD for windows,software. Other HDDs for recording audio, having projects on them and so forth.
The HDD in mine is the 500gb/7200RPM one, I hope I can turn it into an external somehow(read that you can somewhere and I assume most drives can be turned into external HDDs???)

Shouldn't be any problem. You can replace the 2.5" HDD of your notebook with any 2.5" SSD. Be aware that you need to reinstall Windows unless you have a software to clone the current on the SSD.
With an external USB hdd case you can use the HDD as an external drive. However if you erase the current partitions you will loose the possibility of using the F3 recovery with the HDD reinstalled if the Windows on the SSD gets destroyed by a virus or similar problems.

I made test with Windows Professional x64, I installed OS besides DVD drivers so do ... I installed the drivers from MSI site as that is the problem. I did update bios :
old: E16G5IMS.10I
new updates: E16G5IMS.10P
And nothing, so do.
What could be???

Well I tried with two operating systems (and professional ultimate x64)
then oadata with DVD drivers received

this thing is when I bought the laptop, otherwise it goes well

MSI GE620DX Driver Updates

Hi MSI community.
I purchased my first ever MSI product today, a MSI GE620DX laptop. And I'm very proud
Now, which drivers is needed to upgrade to get this machine as fit as possible to date?
I've been readig about BIOS updates thats very important and GPU drivers aswell.
As is turns out now, the software "SpeedFan" is telling me(while only running Internet Browser) that the CPU runs at 60C,Core 0/1 at 67C. But the laptop itself doesnt feel that hot. I need to upgrade some drivers but I'm very unsure about which ones and how.
Hope anyone can give me a short feedback or maybe some links to guide me properly and safe.

I had the same problems with the temps, and they are correct. I've tried alot of apps to check the temp, and they are all showing the same. Those high temps also gave me huge fps drops while playing.
What I did to solve this:
I turned off Intel SpeedStep in BIOS. Just set it to Disable instead of Enable.
The only problem with this function off, is that the TurboBoost function dosent seem to work. So you might loose some performance, but nothing ive noticed so far.
This made my laptop 10-12C cooler, and my GPU never goes above 80 while playing.
I'm atm playing SWTOR, some hours/day and I've not noticed any fps drops or extreme high temps.

more than 72 mbps can not use (look at picture above)
.... However I have done the same router with another sample MSI oldest and one went to 150 MBps, besides that I did another test on Acer Aspires 5542 which read 300 Mbps .... So from these results that my router goes to 300Mbps (802.11n) as was said . My mother Wireless interesting and I read that it supports 150 Mbps.
After I had become the driver of the wireless router my way.
Please if you have any idea ... or users that have the same laptop as mine MSI GE620DX please enlightened me on how fast you go.

I have laptop> GE620DX with wireless card (Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless-N 130). Drivers are updated, but I read 72Mbps.
I did test with another laptop> msi old ... he read 150Mbps
  and recently I had an Acer Aspires 5542 he read 300 Mbps.
For these tests ... see that goes to the 802.11n router (300Mbps)
so with (Intel (R) Centrino (R) Wireless-N 130) .... should theoretically have 150mbps.

MSI GE620DX not working touchapd and bluetooth

I have a question on my MSI
I have a MSI GE620DX where my motherboard deteriorated in version 2.0 which has Windows 7 64bit I bought a new board but in version 1.0 and I installed Windows 8.1 64bit there and not me Bluettoth (constantly on and off), and even not tuchpad ...
I did UPDATE BIOS to version E16G5IMS.10R (build 24.10.2012)
I tried a firmware update but I could not do this while.
I think the problem is in Windows or in BIOS, or is it due to the fact that there is another version of the motherboard?

I installed Windows 7 64 bit Bluetooth works. The touchpad does not work ... does not work with Windows installation and does not constitute key for the touchpad that are on the motherboard ... I have installed the driver MSI SUPPORT still nothing ...
I also tried connectors that go to moterboard

Blue power button during boot (MSI ge620dx)

Earlier today my MSI GE620dx started acting weird when i turned it on. The powerbutton usually has an orange light, this time however, the light turned blue. The screen turned black for more than a minute before i finally was able to log in.
I have no idea what this error code means, is there something wrong with the mainboard or something? What should i do?

Aha, i see. But still, why would it just switch to the integrated GPU during bootup? I've changed the settings, so its supposed to use the nvidia gpu. And whats strange is that i had the power adapter plugged in..?

Can Blackmagic Shuttle USB 3.0 work with MSI GE620DX ?

Hi I want to buy MSI GE620DX to use Blackmagic's Shuttle USB 3.0 device.
Only MSI GE620 seems certified laptop to work with Shuttle USB 3.0.
But I could find only -MSI GE620DX- in my country.
Please check following document's notebook session from Blackmagic.
Could you say, MSI GE620DX compatible to use this purpose?

As it turns out, we have currently yet to verify the exact model (MSI GE620DX) which you have mentioned for USB 3.0 Intensity Shuttle.
And I will not be able to confirm 100% compatibility.
However, I do suggest for you to contact MSI directly on this model. If it does have the same USB 3.0 Bandwidth and the same motherboard cum graphics card technical specifications with the MSI GE620, it should work fine.

The GE620DX has USB 3.0 ports, so yes it should work just fine.
Normally the DX version is the successor/faster then the normal version.

Notebook msi GE620DX

GT555, i5 2410M, 4GB DDR3
I have always been a problem with the notebook msi GE620DX; when connected to the panasonic plasma with hdmi I can play in full hd and high details. Instead if I use the laptop's screen games at low resolution and minimal details are the low fps. In both cases the nvidia GT555 is activated. what's the problem?

THE PROBLEM OCCURS WITH EACH GAME: grid2, skyrim, DiRT3, pes, 2014, etc. .. hdmi external monitor is perfect 60pfs +
when I play with the laptop screen I have to use the block frame 30 and details are very low.
the drivers are all up to date and always have been, when I launch the game the nvidia is active in the laptop because it appears to me that the orange light shows and the fan speed increases.
during play sessions with your laptop screen in osd I did comprarire the% usage of nvidia, and reaches about 20-35% max.
in the discussion of the link the problem is similar to mine, in fact, connecting the laptop with the screen hdmi were obtained by the 60pfs.
the net I found a lot of discussion regarding to my problem.
With the Nvidia GT555 it is thought to be the problem, but instead is a mismanagement of nvidia optimus.

Framedropping in games [MSI-GE620DX] [FIX!?]

Ive got a new MSI GE620DX-488NE Laptop since this monday.
I have been playing battlefield 3 sometimes on this computer, mostly I play on my sationary computer though.
If im looking here at the forum I can see more people like me thats having the same issues as me when it comes to MASSIVE framedropps down to 15fps, and after some time it goes back to a normal 45+ again.
I did notice a big difference when I flashed the latest bios from msi's homepage, and after that I flashed the latest EC firmware too.
I did get better performance in windows performance check, but I also didnt notice the big suddenly framedrops as often. But I noticed them sometimes, and I wanted them to go away for good.
I tried to go in to the bios options when I start the computer, as we all know we can't do too much settings there. But I saw Intel Speedstep enabled, I just unabled it and now I havent noticed the big annoying framedrops since!

Why when i play games like minecraft, hl2 or css my laptop runs pretty hot. i checked with core temp software and it says my cpu is 10 or even 2 celcius from the max 100. Msi ge620dx for next gen titles...

Hi.. just wanna ask what can you say about msi ge620dx with gt555m for upcoming titles like watch dogs, dragon age 3, witcher 3.. and other games next year... i still loving this laptop and just wanna know any tips on improving fps for next gen titles..

i guess the best way is to check if there is any VGA driver update,this alwys helpful for titles performace optimizing.
but Witcher series... as I tried before this is pretty performance demanding titles and you might need higher Gfx or compromising on lower quality setting

Live! webcam - VERY dark image

We have a new Creative Live! webcam. The picture generated by this camera is VERY VERY dark. We've tried using the driver from the CD and from the Creative website; different versions of the Webcam Center software; manually adjusting brightness, contrast, gamma, image size and frames per second. The image is still very dark. What can be done to correct this problem? We never had this issue with our old Creative PD0040?webcam. Image sample is at: HERE

I have a similar situation:
Case - In very low light conditions, with auto exposure ON: if I set FPS at 30, I actually get about 20 and a dark image as if auto exposure wasn't working
Case 2 - In very low light conditions, with auto exposure ON: if I set FPS at 25 or less, I actually get about 5 but a very good image (auto exposure works dramatically well).
Case 3 - In very low light conditions, with auto exposure OFF: effecti've FPS matches whatever I set it at, but I get a very dark image
Case 4 - Now, in low to normal light conditions, regardless of auto exposure being ON or OFF, I can set FPS at 30, actually get 30 and a very good image (auto exposure works dramatically well).
I'm curious why auto exposure seems to play such an important role on frame rate and image quality, under very low light. Is exposure adjustment done at the camera or by software? I'm running a 3 ghz processor with lots of headroom.

My laptop has this weird issue, whenever I open my lappy, its overheating, the nvidia processor is always running even if no games are opened, so to avoid this I need to open the winddows task manager, and the overheating stops, the laptop is good again, even on games.. the issue is I had to open the task manager to avoid overheating which is kind of weird.. any help???
the msi ge620 has blue and red light on its power button.. when not on gaming and other intensive apps it should be in color blue which is the integrated graphics... my issue is it stays in red whenever bootup, and its overheating,,,, so to avoid this I had to open the task manager everytime, and it would be fine.. weird

I dont want to hjack this topic but I got the same issue, same pc (GE620DX). At the momment its on repairs and whats the temperature you recieve when task manager is on? (in-game, without game).
Because my laptop overheats to 85 in-game and 65 without.

I have the same problem with module gspca_main and gspca_spca561.
Seems that the problem is in these new kernel module that are different from the previous kernels (now i have 2.6.28-ARCH).
In the previous ones there was the possibility to set gamma blue red and green parameters directly from the module.
Now seems that there is no parameters available
