MSI GE70 0ND SSD compatibility

Hi,
I have GE70 0ND, I want to buy SSD but I don't know what kind of SSD would fit inside my laptop and can I leave my HDD or I would have to replace it with SSD.
Thank you for reply

you can install mSATA SSD, you have such slot
or you can replace existing HDD with standard size SSD
other option would be standard size SSD to replace the optical drive,
but you will need an addiction SSD caddy for there

  • MSI Ge70 0nd-224Fr request old Bios

    Hi all,
I have a problem with my MSI Ge70 0nd-224Fr Notebook.
I have upgraded Bios from E1756IMS.511 to E1756IMS.514 and my graphic card GTX660M dosen't work correctly  .
All was good with E1756IMS.511 Bios !
So i want to rool back to E1756IMS.511 Bios.
is anyone has this bios file because MSI website doesn't have link to old bios ?
I will be very very happy is someone can help me.
    Best regards,

Some games doesn't detect correctly Nvidia graphics card (I have try with 314.x  320.x nvidia driver [and with last beta 320.49] and i have selected game exe association with nvidia card but it was good with E1756IMS.511 but not with E1756IMS.513 and E1756IMS.514)
example : i have bad shadows on mafia 2 bench (but with old bios it was good)
and For example (my os is Windows 8) with Areo Glass mod from big muscle (it working with E1756IMS.511 bios but not with E1756IMS.513 and 514 ...)
So for me, E1756IMS.511 is the best bios and the most "stable".
I didn't want overclock my graphic card, i only want the most stable system (the last bios release has a very negative resut on my system  )
I have read that the 514 Bios solved a bug with "incorrect detection nvidia graphic card frequency", so it was the only reason of why i have made an upgrade of my bios ...
    E1756IMS.514 Fixes:
    - Modify radio switch device only present in Windows 8.
    - Solve the problem of abnormal password window when first boot priority is IP4/IP6.
    - Solve the abnormal problem of resume from S4 after disable/enable Full Screen Logo Display.
    - Solve abnormal NVIDIA GPU frequency problem.
So my result is with E1756IMS.514:
    - abnormal NVIDIA detection problem
    - Artefact on game
Please, give me a link to original bios E1756IMS.511 and original EC.
Thank you for advance for your help.

Have you verified that your speakers are not muted in your sound control panels? Is your sound turned up as well?
Just wondering, since that could very well be the problem. It's happened to me before.

He has already done part because I was able to unlock the cpu and ram, but l can not change the settings to unlock the card. Please help or modifications. Thank you for your help. I have one question I uploaded a new bios but programs to overclock graphics I still have the standard 135. Is this normal or something I need to do?
Reinstall VGA drivers, then check it again.
If still its up to 135 only, then something is not done right and BIOS is not flashed.
In such case describe your flashing steps in details.

  • Custom bios MSI GE70 0nd

    Hello.
    I use Win7. I have GE70-0ND and BIOS: e1756ims.10f
I need the bios which has two functions:
    1. Enable encrypt the HDD. Almost all laptops have this function but GE70-0ND has not.
    2. Control fan speed for CPU and GPU.
Svet: do you have such a bios ?

    1 nope
2 nope, this don't depend of BIOS. But if you want to change the FAN behavior to a different way can be done.

These are the current pics with default settings and just 2 ssd drives installed.
First 2 pics are when you set bios to legacy mode save and reboot hit ctrl I and setup your raid there instead of the bios.
Either way I get the same problems.

you can do a clean install on the SSD,
use original W8 Installation, make USB W8 installation and install it on SSD
its recommended to disconnect your HDD temporary, before install W8 on SSD,
and to reconnect it when its done

yes eventually, but my opinion there is no need to do this, because:
    you will lost recovery function
also by that way you will have second backup OS to boot from in a case that OS on the SSD become messed up.
this also can help for easy OS restore.
after OS install on SSD and your program installation/updates, customizations and so are done,
you can boot from your HDD and to do a image file with Acronis true image from the SSD and to store it on HDD
then in a case of OS problem on SSD, you can restore it very quickly, by boot from HDD and restore image on SSD.
P.S: What SSD storage you gonna install?

  • MSI GE70 0ND-033US idling at 50-60C even after repasting

    Hello
I have recently noticed that my GE70 is running really hot when idling. Regular browsing usually takes it up to 50-60C when room temperature is at around 25C. I've repasted the laptop several times with little, medium and large amounts of MX-4 and nothing seems to work. Pressing the fan button or using a cooling pad do not seem to help either. Not really sure what else to do. I'm starting to consider that the heat pipes are not working properly. A month ago I took it to a repair shop because it wouldn't turn on. They repaired it and said that the damage was probably due to the laptop running too hot.
Is there something else I can try? Perhaps a good reference on how to apply the paste on the GE70? I have very little left and don't want to attempt another repasting unless I know exactly how to do it.
    Thanks!

Thanks, is there any guide on how to fix heat sinks? As I said, I have tried repasting several times, and it didn't work. I only have paste for one maybe two more, so I'd like to know if there's any guide on pasting that will certainly be right for the GE70 (although I don't think it makes much of a difference from laptop to laptop...).
    Anyone?
man...   sent your laptop your service and change your heatsink.this is all i can tell.... sorry i

  • MSI ge70 0nd-250ne boot problem

Hey, im having a really bad problem with my notebook. I just bought it about 3 months ago and now it wouldn't start, when i try to start it i end up in the bios management and i can't get any further then that. This just suddenly happend, it was running on the battery with something running in the background and after a while in went into sleep mode because of my settings.
When i then pressed the power button it ended up in the bios management. Need help fast!

Not working at all, it just goes back to the setup utility.
I tried legacy boot, and it says "Check cable connection, pxe-m0f exiting intel pxe rom. Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key."

  • GE70-0ND Screen flashing black and gray

    Hey,
I bought a MSI GE70-0ND laptop almost 1 year ago. I have not had any problems with it until now.
I run Windows 8 on it.
Today when I logged in on my laptop the screen just immediately went black. Now it is flashing black and gray. When I move the mouse you can see the cursor moving on the screen. The special buttons such as fan boost works.
I tried connecting my laptop to another screen with a HDMI cable. The other screen showed the same flashing screen..
My laptop forced me to upgrade and install something yesterday. I think it was a windows update but I to be honest, don't know. I suspect that that update is causing this..
Any help will be appreciated. If you want additional information that I failed to provide above, let me know!
    Thanks,

What happens if you do a CTRL+ALT+DELETE? Can you see the screen just fine?
Taking a video and posting it to youtube might also be very helpful, as this is the first time I've ever heard of this issue.
    Hi, thanks for answering.
The problem fixed itself after a while. I have no idea about why it did.
    CTRL+ALT+DEL did absolutely nothing.

  • MSI GE70 2OE TURBO BOOST

    I own a msi ge70 2oe ssd version.Turbo boost is not working.
Notebook is on high performance or balanced mode doesn't matter it only goes 2.4 ghz max.(Max gpu %100)I tested max cpu clock rate in Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool and cpu-z while playing battlefield 4.
    Bios version 1757IMS.516
    Firmware version 1757EMS1.506
Battery plugged and ac adapter plugged in.

Quote from: darkhawk on 13-December-13, 10:05:06
The reason it probably goes to 3.x GHz right away and then drops rather quickly to 2.4 GHz is most likely due to heat. 97C is getting close to the Tmax for the processor, and it's probably throttling back the CPU in order to keep it from being hurt.
Most likely you need to open the notebook up and replace the heatsink compound on the CPU and GPU (89C is rather hot IMHO for the GPU).
Or you can contact MSI and do an RMA.
    >>How to contact MSI.<<
So you are saying that there is no another solution for this issue?

  • [SOLVED] GE70 0ND hotkey + Fn-key for wireless drivers

Got myself a brand spanking new MSI GE70 0ND with with Win8.
Did not like Win8 so wiped it all and installed Win7Pro (x64).
After that I figured out that my hotkey and Fn-key for controlling wireless does not work (Somehow had managed to disable wireless, no idea how) so I had to reset the EC to get it working again.
Are there drivers for the hotkeys or some other way to get them to work in win7?
Did not see any obvious drivers in the driver page for GE70 0ND.
    Thanks for help in advance.

You need S-Bar to utilize the hotkeys under Win7 (it's like SCM for Win8).
    First install Microsoft.NET Framework 4: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653
    Then install latest S-Bar: http://www.msi.com/service/download/utility-19983.html

  • Can I install ssd on my MSI Ge70 2oe (only hdd version)

I want to make my Msi Ge70 feel faster and more reliable, what do i need/ need to do to Upgrade my pc?
what type of ssd do i need, i do not want to remove my hdd, but i want my get my os (win 8.1) over to the New ssd.

As Henry_Bacon said, the mSATA SSD is your best bet.
I would make the backup disks for your computer.
Remove the HDD, install the mSATA SSD.
Use the backup disks to install Windows, etc...
After that's all done and setup, install the HDD again and ensure you're booting from the SSD.
Once you're sure everything is working well, erase the HDD and you're good to go.
