MSI GE70 Bluetooth gone-missing-disappeared

I tried to uninstall the driver, but I don't see it in my Device manager anymore.
I also tried to re-instal the latest Intel Bluetooth Driver file from the MSI support page.  The "Bluetooth" option is still not visible in my PC Settings.
Windows 8.1 64 bit
Any ideas?

  • Bluetooth Gone Missing

Some way or another, bluetooth has gone missing from my System Preferences pane. I restarted my computer a few days ago and noticed that it was gone. In the past I have used the OS X installation CD and Pacifist to fix problems like this but I'm not sure what file I should install or if this is even the solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello,
Is it a mouse you are pairing with the MacBook? And can you see the Bluetooth icon in the Status Menu Bar???
Probably a good time to check the boot disk for errors just in case.
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
Select your disk, and click First Aid.
    Click Verify Disk.
If the disk needs repairs, do one of the following:
Insert your Mac OS X Install disc in your computer’s optical drive or an optical drive connected to your computer, and then restart your computer. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the progress indicator, which looks like a spinning gear.
Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer using Remote Install Mac OS X. Follow the onscreen instructions until the menu bar appears with the Utilities menu in it, choose Utilities > Disk Utility, click First Aid, and then click Repair Disk.
Checking a hard disk to see if it’s going to fail
You can check the health of your hard disk by checking its Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) status in Disk Utility. Most disk drives include S.M.A.R.T. hardware. Developed by IBM, S.M.A.R.T. hardware allows hard disks to test themselves for potential problems.
To check your hard disk’s S.M.A.R.T. status:
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.Select the disk in the list at the left, and look at the bottom of the window for a field named “S.M.A.R.T. Status.”
Is it a mouse you are pairing with the MacBook?
    Carolyn

  • Bluetooth pane has gone missing since update from 10.10.2 to 10.10.3 on iMac mid 2007

I have a iMac mid 2007 model. I was running os x 10.10.2 with no problems. I update to os x 10.10.3 for the security issue. Now my bluetooth pane has gone missing from system preferences. I have tried everything suggested in suggested in support as it seems others have suffered the same thing on different macs. Nothing has that was suggested there has corrected this issue. Does anyone have any ideas apart from using a wired mouse and keyboard or using time machine to revert to os x 10.10.2? Let me know please.
Also booting up is slow to say the least, I can live with that though unless there is an as yet unknown by me fix.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Pages has disappeared from my Doc. I recently installed Open Office, is this why Pages has gone missing?

Pages has disappeared from my Doc and from my systems preferences.  I can't find Pages at all.  I recently installed Open Office, is this the reason my Pages has gone missing?

I know iBooks aren't backed up and that iCloud just backs up the purchase history, but I'm not sure about pdfs being backed up. Some people say they are:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23211222#23211222
It's probably safer to assume it doesn't backup pdfs. You could store your pdfs (for safekeeping) in an app like Dropbox.

  • MSI GE70 2PE-410UK turning off bluetooth

Hey, I am not sure how to turn off blue tooth in MSI GE70, It doesn't really say in manual.

it should say in manual, but bluetooth can be disabled together with wifi when doing FN + F button with plane icon other wise you can go into control panel ----> Network and sharingcenter ----> change network connection, from there you should find a bluetooth thing right click on it and select Disable and it will disable bluetooth feature but remember you have to re-peat same thing to re-enable it so it works with FN + F button with plane icon.

  • MSI GE70 Not detecting wireless?

    MSI GE70 laptop Windows 8.1 64bit.
Whilst using the internet yesterday suddenly I disconnected. Now I can't detect any wireless connections. In the 'Turn wireless devices on or off' settings, under 'wireless devices', it says 'we couldn't find any wireless devices on this PC'. In 'Device manager' the only Network adapter showing is 'Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30). So currently am having to plug my laptop into my router. Any idea where my wifi capability has gone?
Sorry if this is the incorrect forum, but I've done numerous searches and can't find the solution anywhere on the internet.
    Appreciate any help, thanks.

Here is how to activate the WiFI:
    1. Find the Settings icon on the desktop and click on it.
    2. Enter the PC settings main page by clicking on Change PC settings.
    3. Unfold the Airplane mode selections under Network.
    4.  Make sure Airplane mode is set to OFF here.
    5.  Turn the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth function on/ off by sliding the function switch bar.
When Airplane mode is set to ON, the Wi-Fi and
Bluetooth function will be disabled at once.

This is the MSI boot configure, it’s the first software that opens on start of your MSI notebook. It’s a thoughtful program which is designed to let you choose how you want your notebook to boot up, the 2 screenshots show the options available; you can choose between the windows 8.1 metro or the normal desktop screen on log in. Now to test the system with the latest high demand games! We tested the system with crysis 3, metro last light, assassin's creed IV and battlefield 4. All these games require very high spec systems and are great for testing; we tested them on max settings and also on Nvidia’s optimized settings for each game. Nvidia has made it easy to optimize the settings to get the best performance possible out of the notebook with the GeForce experience! You can auto-optimize game settings for best performance and tweak them if you want better graphics or better frame rate.
    The result are as follows:
Crysis 3 maxed out ran at an average of 20-30 FPS and with Nvidia’s optimized settings it ran at an average of 55-65 FPS.
Metro last light maxed out ran at an average of 30-40 FPS and with Nvidia’s optimized settings it ran at an average of 50-60 FPS.
Assassin’s creed IV maxed out ran at an average of 30-40 FPS and with Nvidias optimized settings it ran at an average of 35-45 FPS.
Battlefield 4 maxed out ran at an average of 35-45 FPS and with Nvidia’s optimized settings it ran at an average of 50-60 FPS.
All round great results from some of the highest demanding games on the market, it shows that the GE70 is capable of keeping up with your gaming needs while still being a portable, slim and light notebook.

  • Has anyone else encountered a situation where images suddenly gone missing?

i've had files suddenly gone missing on me several times. i was so sure that this might be a bug but now i think it's user error. at least my error.
a few times i wanted to delete one image and then found that several other images disappeared on me. here i realize that i forgot to deselect all of the other images before deleting the one image i intend to delete.
another time for some unexplained reason, so it seemed, several images disappeared on me. poof! i couldn't find them anywhere, but i didn't think to look in the Rejected library. later on i realize that i've pressed the zero key by mistake while the images were selected. the zero key rejects the images and placed them in the Rejected library. i've found some of my missing images in this library. phew!
for those of you who have some missing images, and haven't taken a look inside your Rejected library, take a look and maybe you'll find some of your missing images in there.
    dual 2.7 ghz powerpc g5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   8 gb ram, xt800 card.

You might just need to clear your search by selecting
the "x" in the search field.
Not quite the same as going into the search field and changing the rating slider and selection to show only deleted as by just clearing the search field does not change the slider rating and you'll still not see the rejected files.

  • Contact info and iCal events gone missing

A few weeks ago, I entered an Calendar event with an alarm on my iPhone to remind me of a meeting later that day. A while later, I was looking though Calendar and realized this new event was gone, so I re-entered it, made sure it was correct, closed Calendar and re-opened it, double checked and it was still there. An hour later, it had disappeared again.
I use MobileME to sync all my iPhone data. I sync my iMac too, but it was in my office turned off. Since then I realized that a number of events that were entered on my iPhone have gone missing ... but not all of them. Software versions on my iPhone 3G, iMac, et al are all current.
To make matters appear worse, now that I'm paying closer attention to synched data, I realize that some (again not all) Contact information entered on the iPhone is also being lost. Its annoying when its just a special ringtone (I know these can get reset) but its actually harmful when its a new phone number that gets overwritten with the old one and you don't realize it until its gone.
I have turned off all syncing between MobileME and the iMac ... that did NOT fix the problem, plus its a pain in the *. But it does demonstrate that its most likely a problem between MobileME and the iPhone. I've been patient with all the MobileME "teething problems" esp as long as Apple was demonstrating its duty of care to fix things. But now I'm back to paying for my service, and it doesn't seem to work as advertised!!
Any suggestions how I can regain confidence that the information I load into my iPhone will still be there at the end of the day?

I just had the opposite problem. Synced my iPhone 3G to iTunes (current versions) and ALL contacts from my Address Book on my computer disappeared. iCal was OK. I do not sync contacts or calendars wirelessly. Chat help assisted me in restoring an old .Mac copy to my computer, but my confidence in syncing is LOW. Chat help seemed to suspect iTunes or the iPhone. Ironically, dependable contact and calendar syncing was the main reason I bought an iPhone.
Short term I'll be backing up my Address Book (File > Backup) and Calendar right before doing ANY syncing, iPhone or .Mac/MobileMe. I'm a 20 year Win pro who switched to Mac/OSX about 7 years ago, and this has been my first time feeling a little "micro-softy".

  • "search for WLAN" option gone missing

My N82 had the "search for WLAN" option below the "select access point". but since of today it has gone missing and i have no idea how to get it back.
below is the option i'm referring to which i found on the net because i can't post a pic of my phone cos the "search for wlan" has disappeared.
    Pls help...

    sorry for the late reply...
    Isn't there an alternative?
cos i'm afraid i might mess my phone up and don't want to take that chance.
i think this happened while i was messing around the access points menu in settings trying to delete the unwanted access point it had stored there.
i don't think i deleted it unless it was there with another name?
    maybe like default or something???
isn't there a way to add a 'search for wlan' shortcut there like it was originally?

Have you verified that your speakers are not muted in your sound control panels? Is your sound turned up as well?
Just wondering, since that could very well be the problem. It's happened to me before.

After upgrading to Win 7 (i have a T61 originally marked as a type 6458-CTO) the WAN choice has gone missing from the dialog shown with the FN-F5 key. 802.11 and Bluetooth are still there and working. **I have installed** all the latest drivers I could find on the Lenovo site. **I have checked** that the cables re connected. And **I have tested** with another card (from a working computer without Win7). All to no avail.

  • Say Goodbye to my old desktop! Got my new high mobility and performance MSI GE70 2PC Apache!

Time to get rid of my old PC, which is barely can run latest games. So, after I made some researches online, I decided to buy MSI GE60 2PC Apache. It perfectly matches my budget.
The box inside comes with black design. The notebook is protected by a black sleeve.
The packing includes a power adapter, MSI branded gaming mouse, a battery, CD, and manuals. I especially like the adaptor design in slim and compact size.
The metal brush front cover looks gorgeous. I like the red dragon badge with backlight enabled. This is one of my favorites in this notebook. I believe it will make my new notebook stand out from the other Apxle notebooks when I use it in my campus. “The fruit” is not the only shining star anymore. 
There is a red line on the side~~
Here comes my new notebook. Btw, the packing also comes with a MSI bag.
The labels says it features with Matrix Display (extend to 3 external monitors), Killer lan (network for gaming applications), Steelseries keyboard, and Audio Boost.
The touch pad is in one piece. Again, metal brush!!
Intel i7 and NVIDIA GTX 850M inside of my new baby. 
Audio system is powered by DYNAUDIO. As I checked online, this is a Danish brand and seems to be very famous. 
Steelseries keyboard~ I think I don’t need to mention what Steelseries is. All gamers should know it.
I found one thing very special that the Windows key is moved to the right. According to MSI website, it is for games not to mis-touch the Windows key in gameplay. Very ergonomic design for gamers.
It has an individual numerical key area. Good for my accounting courses.
He he he… I used my Cannon digital camera for below full color backlight keyboard picture! I tried several shots. This one is the best one to show. Anyway, the point here is the color configurations can be customized!!
    720P webcam!
On the left, you can find one HDMI, two USB3.0, golden audio jack with Audio Boost feature, and one combo memory card slot.
On the right, you can find one RJ-45 with Killer lan feature, one VGA port, two USB2.0, and BD Combo drive.
The panel can be opened up to roughly 135 degree. I think it is good enough. I am not going to use it as a tablet.
Sound by DYNAUDIO with 2.1 surround audio channel!

    I find a secret feature.
When the notebook is running by Intel integrated graphics, the power indicator shows blue. However, when it is running by NVIDIA graphics, the indicator shows red.
Very good feature for me to know if the NV graphics is on when I play games.
Signal Indicators show wireless, Bluetooth, hard disk, and power status.
Okay, now it is the time to start the live demo.
Oops…my friend is calling me….need to go out with my friend now. After I finish the basic settings, I will find time to make real gameplay demo and share with you later.

Back again for my part 2 sharing.
Here is my testing result of 3DMARK on my MSI GE60 2PC Apache.
    X7654
    Boot up time - SSD
    Sleeping dog - FPS
Need for Speed – FPS average 60 FPS. (this game only supports max 60FPS)
All settings are set to max
    Conclusion:
The metal brush design on front and keyboard sides looks decent. I love its 17” FHD display which is good for playing games, watching videos, typing my reports in a comfortable way. After I got this, it is difficult for me to go back to smaller display.
I expected that online streaming could cost a lot of system resource. However, its Gamecaster Xplit online streaming feature surprised me! No lag and very easy to use! Its quick boot-up time with SSD and GTX 850M gave me a whole new PC experience.
The Haswell i7-4700HQ and NVIDIA GTX 850M are sufficient enough for games and online streaming. Not to mention it also carries Steelseries keyboard which is a Plus when I play games. I am glad that I decided to buy this GE70 2PC Apache to replace my old desktop because it can satisfy all my needs for gaming, multimedia, and document editing.
If you have the same demand as me and also looking for a notebook, it is worthy to give it a shot on MSI GE70 2PC Apache!!
