I am using windows 8 on MSI Apache Pro GE60 2PE.
I have this issue where my ping goes up randomly for few seconds at few minute intervals when playing dota 2.
For example, my ping is usually around 100ms, then it rose up to 300 ms for few seconds and drop back down to 100ms. I have checked any apps running background but to no avail. I have even tried uninstalling my anti-virus but its the not the problem. Browser wasn't even running that time. I have updated my Intel Wifi driver and my Killer E2200 driver from MSI webpage.
I have tried with other computer using the same internet line but they show no such phenomenon. Anybody have such issue?
Much appreciated if someone could help. Thank you.

  • MSI GE70 2OE static electricity problems!

Hi, i bought an MSI GE70 2OE gaming laptop and right away i noticed some static electricity where i put my hands on the pc case. Anyone else having problems like these, and is it dangerous? I mean even right now when i type this article i have my hands resting on the pc and i can feel some static electricity. Yesterday i even had a small discharge when i touched the corner of my pc... since the pc is metallic or aluminium or whatever, i guess it builds up charge. First i thought it was my power outlet, so i changed them and still static electricity...then i thought all sockets in my apartment were screwed up so i went to a friend across town, plugged it in...and still static electricity problems.... I mean i just bought the pc 2 weeks ago and i don't want it fried or destroyed because of this...is this dangerous?  Whenever i unplug the pc and run it on battery, everything is 100% fine and i feel no static electricity at all... and as soon as i plug it in, i feel it again when i touch my pc.

Just a note. I bet it was the first time you saw notebook exploded from wi-fi antenna from inside.
I guess what if there is a connection? Who knows. That laptop's case is from plastic but who knows.
OP, ask someone else to touch laptop. Not on the carpet) maybe it is just you.
Actually, on the GT laptops it's metal....the handrest is actually metal.
But yeah. indranil's suggestion makes more sense.

  • FW: MSI flagship gaming notebook, GT80, featuring mechanical keyboard

An article from professional gaming media...
At MSI Beat IT 2014 Grand Finals, all gamers' curiosity were strongly excited after glancing at GT80, an unprecedented gaming notebook with mechanical keyboard embedded. Invited by Marc, product manager of MSI GAMING notebook, we have the chance to visit the MSI GAMING Room again for an exclusive interview of the flagship gaming geek!
< GT80 is the first and only one gaming notebook featuring MX Brown Cherry keyboard in the world. >
<Pull out the keycaps and the Cherry MX Brown switches are right in your sight.>
As a senior professional gamer and MSI GAMING notebook fan, Marc went through all sorts of hardships in using the mechanical keyboard with a firm hand. " It is rather the sense of gaming than not otherwise! There is no compromise! So, I have been planning to integrate the mechanical keyboard into the gaming notebook for 5 years." In fact, it is a mission impossible to stuff it in the limited space that is really contrary to the decent design of a notebook.
< The scheme of this gaming notebook has been in Marc's mind for 5 years. >
< This manuscript is Marc’s momentum in creating the GT80. >
After long communication and technical evolution, MSI is ready to take a shot at the risky and bold adventure. The position of the GT80 keyboard gets closer to the player instead of the monitor, in contrary to the traditional concept. "All, so to speak, are about repeatedly researches and trials, not just to be a maverick.” Marc also invites SoBaDRush, the ex-Zerg King, to show us.
Little dragon: WOW! I am in!
Most people would place the mechanical keyboard like this, but it is a little far away from the monitor...>
<The original position is comfortable, but too close to see the bottom screen for the height of the keyboard and hands. >
As a professional commentator and gamer, SoBaD, contributes some great ideas to the design of GT80. "Most MOBA and StarCraft II, my favorite, gamers choose MX Brown Cherry keyboard. That is why we insist on such kind of keyboard." Actions speak louder than words. The photographer stopped his work and was brought to the experience of the GT80 under the encouragement.
<SoBaD: WOW! This works for me! >
< But, my wrist seems to be bent into an odd angle. So...the best place should be...>
< Yes, this is where the keyboard should be! >
Surprisingly! We see that MSI reproduced the perfect curve of the keyboard on GT80, higher outers and lower inners. MSI's persistence and efforts to achieve the sense of gaming are blatantly shown in its perfect coordination between size and comfort even while chocolate keyboards are still taking the lead in current notebook market.
<Compared to traditional keyboards, the keycaps are all about the same in height. >
To the sense of touch, though each space between keys seems to be a little smaller in visual, we feel no difficulty in typing and touching as compared to traditional keyboards. MSI casts a strike and shows its collective wisdom and passion in gaming, totally standing by gamers' side.
< Bravo! MSI reproduced the perfect curve of what a mechanical keyboard on GT80 should be, higher outers and lower inners. >
<GT80 highlight! Switch independent graphics card with a single key.>
< GT80 takes only less than 1 minute to reboot and back to game for its SSDs. >
MSI also dedicates a lot of efforts to the design of function keys. The right touch pad can be shifted to number pad by "num" key as well as the manually controllable cooling fan and the switchable independent and embedded graphics card. Nowadays, some brands are studying to apply the one-key-shift function for environmental protection, easy operation and power saving, MSI really impresses us.
<>The combined touch and number pad is another smart design of the GT80 to save more space.
<Due to the intuitive chassis design, the gadget-crazed gamers could enjoy upgrading their key parts easily. >
All in all, GT80 deserves the MSI GAMING notebook flagship, pushing the boundaries of the CPU and GPU, advancing the sense of touch and getting closer to gamers' Utopia. For gaming enthusiasts, GT80 will certainly be on the hit list!
<Get creative with your keyboard using the complimentary keycaps and puller in the package! >
<MSI GT80 takes the helm of the gaming notebook to the ideal realm.>

  • MSI Z97 Gaming 9 ACK problem with wifi (lag spike)

I'd be more for RMA'ing the board.
But personally, I'm staying away from Killer Network products from now on. They are buggy and do not work very well when they don't work. Sometimes they don't work at all. Check back through these forums, and one of the biggest issues with any of the boards and/or laptops is always the Killer Networks NIC's. And there is no simple and easy fix for many of the issues.
If it was me, I'd buy a nice wireless card and use that instead. Or do the Intel mod you posted about.
I won't say that the Killer Networks device SHOULD work, but time and time again they prove to not work. In that case, I'd replace it with something that will and move on. A $40 wireless card to not spend days or weeks trying to fix the problem is money well spent in my opinion.
now im going with powerlink and all went good, but as all know, powerlink after 2 years will broke and need to replace..... but online game with eth is always better.
So im tihink to resend to AMAZON and ask for refund and ill rebuy a gaming 7 without wifi this change refund me a good 100 euro......

  • MSI GE70 2OE-011NE gpu problem

Hi! i bought a Msi Ge70 with a gtx765m today and as with every new computer i buy i try this windows performance tool to see if its good or bad, and with this my gpu is wow im kinda chocked of the results. I get for gfx 4.3 and for gaming like 6.4 and with my old laptop with a gt 635m i get 5.0 for gfx and 6.6 for gaming whats up with this?
Since i figure that this ms thingy might not be the best to check it on i downloaded 3dmark, really dont know what my results should be but i checked a computer with same specs and that one got like 30% more than mine.
    3dmark.com/3dm/1276250
If u check this one the gpu core clock is 405 mhz is this right? ive read something about 850 mhz + boost.
Sorry for the spelling my english isnt the best
    Peace

The Windows score is really all bull crap. It doesn't mean anything. Yes, it sort of does, but that's just it, when you run that test, it doesn't use the NVidia GTX765M, it ends up using the Intel iGPU, which sucks. This explains the really low rating, instead of a much higher one that might be expected.
Your older laptop with a GT635M got higher scores because it probably did not use Optimus technology, and therefore was ALWAYS using the GT635M, and would always get good performance (relatively anyway) because of that.
The GE70 uses NVidia Optimus technology to switch between the Intel iGPU (on the CPU) and the GTX765M.
I would ignore the Windows score. On my GT70 0NE with a GTX680M, my desktop graphics score is a 5.5, whereas every other score is 7.1 or higher. If I force it to run with the NVidia enabled (which is possible) it will be much higher, I just don't bother because again, it's a rather meaningless score.
Enjoy the new laptop, you'll notice it more in games and such when compared to the old one!

  • MSI msi GE70 2OE-017US HDD problem

    Hi
    I just bought a MSI GE70 2OE-017US Windows 8
and after like 2 weeks, i was having slow performance issues and when checking what was causing it, it was because my  Disk was often going to 100%.. I have tried many things, like changing the virtual memory, but that didnt work, i'm also sure that it's not a virus since i have bitdefender 2013 and check daily for viruses, and mallware with malwarebytes, so I decided to do a re-install of windows 8 and it didn't seem to help, i'm suspecting that it might be that the Hitachi HTS727575A9E364 is breaking down or something, because i really don't get what the problem is...
Could someone please help me out?
Here is a screenshot of my task manager
Oh and i also did a chkdsk.
    Thanks

I guess you run Windows 8, you can go to "task manager" and check the what SW runs in HDD, or please print out the screen and post here, MSI tech support will help you next...

  • Msi x99 gaming 9 ack problems

ok got my new msi x99 gaming 9 ack with i7 5930k and g.skill 2400 ram
    got my corsair ax1200i
so my problems i have been working on this all night near enough but today we have progress.
so problem is when i put ram in slot 1 would not post debug 04/55/60 no keyboard or signal to monitor. so i have finally got it working and got into the bios by put just one stick in slot 5. tried all 4 sticks in slot 5 but one failed at 6f so i think now one stick is faulty. but back to main problem with slot one.
once i had it booting up i switched off system and added 1 stick in slot one.
and it would not post debug 04/55/60.
so do i ram it or do you think bios update will fix this problem thanks in advance

Last night the exact same problem occurred to my Gaming 9 ACK.
Board worked flawlessly for three months with a 5960X processor, quad channel G.Skill 3.33 memory ( 16gb- 4x4 ) and four msi GTX980 gaming in quad sli mode.
Turned off the pc last night, and today, upon start the pc did not boot.
    04-55-60-04 and all over again.
Memory modules are populated in slots 1-3-5-7. After several try and error efforts, slot 7 is blocking the system from booting. All four modules checked and are fine.
Removed module in slot 7 and booted. No problem there.
After entering windows 7 environment, a second even bigger surprise surfaced.
NO SLI. Device manager sees only gtx980 in slot 1 and nothing else.
    New tests.
Only pci-e slot 1 works. All others are non functional.
So I am with an 8000$ pc, which works with 12gb triple channel memory and one VGA.
    Obviously motherboard has gone south.
    What now ???

  • MSI z97 Gaming 9 Network problems

I just finished my first build and i used the msi z97 gaming 9 ack motherboard. After installing all drivers and everything i tried to connect to the network via wifi and ethernet, but neither worked. When using wifi, it could see the networks but wouldn't connect to any of them. Also, when i plugged in a working ethernet cord, the lights didn't even blink on the port and it didn't show up as having anything plugged in. I am running windows 8 pro 64 bit. I have no idea why it is doing this and am starting to get very frustrated by it. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

is the lan card enabled in bios setup and function properly inside OS? [check it in device manager]
Yes the BIOS is saying that it is turned on, and the device manager lists these under Network adapters:
    Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
    Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)
Killer Wireless-n/a/ac 1525 Wireless Network Adapter
    Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter
Also in the BIOS menu, it isn't showing the wifi adapter that came with the board. It is plugged in andscrewed onto the board and it can find networks, but can't connect. It just looks like a blank spot in the board explorer option in the BIOS. Any reason it would be doing this?

  • MSi GE60 Gaming notebook (nothing but problems)

So I bought this laptop about 6 months ago in 6 months the HDD has failed 3 times and the keyboard failed with it the 3rd time. Now it's working fine except for the fact that when I plug in a mouse the touchpad doesn't disable like it should 90% of the time it works but the last 48 hours have been a pain in the ass trying to type cause half of my stuff gets erased. I also play a lot of online MMO'S and it's difficult if my hand so much as touches the pad. It's actually starting to me off. I've refrained from coming here cause I wanted to fix it myself. But I've tried all I can think of. I uninstalled the driver and restarted the computer and let reinstall again nothing changes. I've tried to update the driver with the file from the MSi site and I've tried the FN + F3 Which usually disables it, now it doesn't do a damn thing. It's starting to get on my nervers, For an 1100$ laptop from supposedly one of the best companies in the world. I'm extremely disappointed. My custom built laptop from Memory Express 10x better than this.... Anyhow if anyone has any solutions, they'd be greatly appreciated.
Also it'd be nice to talk to someone from MSi. Cause at this point I'm wanting my money back.

sounds like your laptop is factory defected which means you should of gone back to the store where you got it and had it re-placed with new one since some times laptops are factory defected that they have issues and arent supposto be sent out for sale which factory misses alot of times some how so yeah this sounds like a failure on motherboard not responding propertly which is my guess.

  • MSI ge70 0nd-250ne boot problem

Hey, im having a really bad problem with my notebook. I just bought it about 3 months ago and now it wouldn't start, when i try to start it i end up in the bios management and i can't get any further then that. This just suddenly happend, it was running on the battery with something running in the background and after a while in went into sleep mode because of my settings.
When i then pressed the power button it ended up in the bios management. Need help fast!

Not working at all, it just goes back to the setup utility.
I tried legacy boot, and it says "Check cable connection, pxe-m0f exiting intel pxe rom. Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key."

  • MY MSI GE70-2OE is having problems recognizing my hard drive

I have been having issues with this laptop for awhile now and would like someones opinion on it. So trying to keep the story short, I was able to identify through trouble shooting that  my hard drive was the problem to all my BSOD problems and  BIOS screen start ups,so I decided to get a SSD to replace the hard drive that was in the laptop. I replaced it, but about 2 weeks time it started to do the same thing.I really don't know what to do from here, because I know that my computer loads to the BIOS screen because it doesn't realize that my hard drive is even connected to my laptop. And if I put pressure by the top left corner of the mouse pad, it usually loads to windows, if I don't put pressure it loads to the BIOS screen. So I would appreciate someones point of view if they have one.

Go to System Preferences->Startup Disk. Is anything highlighted? If not, highlight your HD. Reboot and see if it automatically boots properly.

  • Msi x99s gaming 9 ack problem

hello I have just updated my bios form 2.20 to 2.40 went smooth ish bios flash went fine cleared cmos after and re did bios settings not to the problem I cant get my Bluetooth or wireless to show up in the device manager. I have uninstalled all the killer network stuff/quailcom. and reinstalled killer the software but still nothing. no device in device manager apart from one showing as unknow usb device(device description request failed) could this be my wireless would this show up under usb and if it is how do I get it back. thanks in advance

Hello svet I have figured out the problem just came to me. But think it needs posting some where just in case anyone else has this issue when installing drivers make sure you install the killer wireless and Bluetooth first before the asmedia usb host controller driver. Or the asmedia will put it down as a usb device

  • MSI 970 Gaming 4G Fan problem

got my 970 today....as you can see in the screenshot my fans are going ON then OFF all the time.
and the temps are not high enough so that the fan should start spinning at all.

This seems to be the 0% fan mode. When did you buy the card? As for me this looks like MSI's solution towards non working fan at all.
i ordered the card on 17 october and they was send from an amazon center in france this week to me in germany.
so i guess it´s a pretty new card. had the donut shaped fan sticker.
    gpu-z says "revision A1".
no idea what other info could be helpfull.
i only wonder because all reviews say the fans should not be running under ~60° celsius.
