MSI GE70 Keyboard Issue - cursor jumps erratically

I've had the MSI GE70 for several months and one of the most vexing things about it, aside from Windows 8, is that when typing often the cursor will jump to some totally unexpected spot and ruin my typed message. I called tech support and they told me to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse pad.....no help at all. Someone told me perhaps the case wasn't properly sealed and there was vibration inside causing the keys to malfunction. I like the touch of the keyboard but there are moments when this is beyond frustrating.
Suggestion?

The best thing I can do is to tell you to adjust the 'palm check' on the touchpad drivers. It might even have the ability to disable the touchpad if typing is occuring. I'm not sure, it really depends on the driver for the touchpad and I don't have a GE70 so I can't elaborate more.

Is there any MSI GE70 Keyboard Full Colorful Backlit?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I have a regular MSI GE70, 17 in, i7, windows 7, with a NVIDIA Geforce and I was wondering if anyone know if steelseries or MSI is selling any MSI GE70 Keyboard Full Colorful Backlit? Just the keyboard itself, I really want a light up keyboard without buying a new laptop. I want to replace my non-backlit keyboard with a full colorful backlit keyboard.

I'm not certain. I cannot remember if the GE70's at that point in time COULD come with a backlit keyboard or not.
I WANT to say that they didn't. But I cannot say that with 100% certainty.
If you look at the barcode on the bottom of your laptop or on the box, it should say something along the lines of GE70 XXX-XXXUS for the model number I believe. If you could list that, it would help narrow it down a little bit.

Keyboard issue - Cursor moves backwards while typing

I have an issue with the keyboard of a Macbook Pro (2011). When I'm typing (email, notes or word etc.), the cursor moves up a couple of lines by itself and I end up typing in a middle of another word. It seems to do so randomly. I have done what apple advises in case of keyboard issue but it hasn't solved the problem so I was wondering if any of you had any suggestion on how to solve that. Thanks

If you have another keyboard, use it see if the problem crops up there.

From the disc that originally came w/your comp, run the Hardware Test & post the results.
Keyboard may be dirty. Try cleaning it using an air compressor and/or a brush vacuum hose.

MSI ge70 2OE issues.

I have an MSI ge70 2OE now for around 6 months and its starting to have some weird issues. for one. sometimes windows just crashes because of a memory failure, the sound is also crackling at times and my mouse always keeps disconecting. (usb mouse- Razer orochi 2013)
Any help? should i go back to win8 or should i RMA the laptop?

If thats when issues started, and now you are saying that its the same with win 8 clean install there are 2 more options i can only see... Well maybe more but here it goes:
- make sure you update all the drivers and bios on your clean win 8 installation, then set in bios to go on best performance
- if the above do not help I would also try to install win 7(maybe a some linux distribution?) just to prove that your issues are not related to an OS
AND IF non of the aboved helped I would then think about sending it to waranty, but you better try the above one first and also wait for some more experienced users to say what they think

Today I received my MSI GE70 laptop. It's a really awesome laptop but when im typing fast the H key doesnt work, i press it but nothing happends i have to wait a bit before i can use it or i have to press it really hard.
Is their any solution for this?

MSI GE70 Keyboard/Mousepad issue

Ok, So for example when i'm playing a game if I want to move using the 'WASD' Keys its fine, but as soon as I use the mousepad to direct where I'm going, the mousepad does nothing. It just freezes and works intermittently as I release keys and press different ones. Is this a simple fix or something more? I have done a quick search of the forums and found nothing! Cheers in advance!

Touchpad doesn't work very well with FPS games. Use a mouse.

Keyboard Problem - cursor jumps midword

I've been having a problem typing recently where my cursor will change position while I'm in the middle of typing a word, so it will jump to a different part in the text and start typing there or it will highlight the word or the sentence and then when I type the next letter it will delete. I know I'm not touching the trakpad. What should I do?

It most likely is the battery being expanded and affecting the trackpad. Lots and lots of posts about that on here. It happened to me. Try removing the battery and using just the power cord. If you can type like before with just the power cord, then the battery is the problem. I took mine to the genius bar, the "genius" checked it, and gave me a new battery. Problem solved. I had an extended warranty so it was covered. Good luck.

MSI GE70 Keyboard broken

Hello everyone, I spilled drink on the laptop yesterday but only partialy and I dryed it in a matter of seconds - however the space bar was acting sticky so I wanted to clean it but it wouldn't go back and I think I have broke it completely ...
I wanted to ask if anyone knows how much would it cost me if I send the laptop to service if it is NOT under warranty anymore (especialy if they would want to replace the whole keyboard)
Or if you have any other suggestions, but I was screwing with the key for a couple of hours it just won't go back and everything is in place (I guess some of the little pieces are broken)

You can either buy some spare keys off website like eBay, or contact MSI so they can tell you the price (sadly we don't have such an info here). Or give a shot at local PC center/shop.

MSI GE70 WiFi Issues

Hey everyone, first time poster here.
Bought Laptop late last year brand new, had it exclusively on the Ethernet cable as my Desktop was down but also because the WiFi was just not working as it should.
Skip to the present day and my desktop is fine now and is my main machine, but I want to use the laptop to play games and stream onto my TV downstairs when the mood takes me. This is impossible however because the WiFi constantly drops and will only reconnect if I disconnect and reconnect... but then it will do it again shortly after.
All other devices in the house seem to be fine with the router, PS3, phones, tablets, TV box.
I waited awhile just in case it was a driver issue, but I've updated it and it is still doing it.
Any advice from you fine people?

If I remember correctly, and don't quote me on this, but I believe many, MANY people had issues with the Intel 135, and not just users with MSI notebooks (ie Asus, HP, Dell, etc...).....
I would first try a few different drivers. If that doesn't solve the issue, I might suggest just buying another wireless card to put into the laptop. Or contact MSI directly about it.

MSI GT70 SteelSeries Keyboard Issue

Hey guys. I bought a MSI GT70 recently but I got an issue with my keyboard. The "A" button doesn't work properly. I need to push it really hard to work, i mean a normal touch isn't enough to make it type. So I decided to replace my keyboard with a new one. But I don't know where to buy/find another one. Is there a special serial name for steelseries/MSI GT70 keyboard?

MSI GE70 Blu-ray Drive Issue

Just bought a new msi ge70 2oe-017us 2 days ago and haven't had any issues with it until I had to use the blu ray drive today. After I insert a cd into it, it sounds like its loading and then gives off an repeatedly annoying noise. The disc doesn't get recognized at all either. The cd i'm using is working in another computer.
The bluray drive is a TSSTcorp DVDWBD SN-406AB, no flag in device manager and drives are updated.
I have a video of the sound it's making, but the forum won't allow me to post it.

looks like you may need to send it back if the bluray drive has malfunction.

MSI Ge70 2oc Steel series keyboard

I bought a second hand MSI GE70 2oc laptop and I am not quite sure about its keyboard. I see LEDs beneath each keys and it also have a light button beside the turbo fan. Is this unit has keyboard light? If so, how am I going to turn it on? I press that button but nothing happens. Do I need to download drivers or any program? Thank you so much.

I have Msi ge70 2oe-201tr notebook. I used ''remove everything and reinstall windows'' option for a few problems. However, the backlight button isn't working after reseting. How can I solve this problem?

MSI GE70 2OE-201TR Wireless issue

Hi friends , I have a problem with my Msi ge70 2OE-201TR . My wifi connection drops randomly. then at right bottom , there is ! on wifi connection symbol. I can reconnect internet if I disconnect from network and reconnect. Are there any solve for this problem ?

The Killer network stuff isn't part of the Wifi. I have a 2OE mine is a realtek pci-e card. It's located under the bottom cover toward the side the lan cable plugs into. (if you decide to upgade it to a AC capable card) Try updaing those drivers. Right click the start button on the desktop, hit device manager, expand network adapters, the wifi card will be listed there. The drivers are on the MSI site where your laptop version is under support downloads. First try right clicking the wifi icon when it's hooked up. Hit open network/sharing, left click the wifi network, at the bottom hit proerties, at the top hit configure, the last tab is power uncheck let puter turn off to save power.
