MSI GE70 Switchable graphics issue

Hey guy's,
Just got myself a MSI GE70 Gaming laptop, and I have been loving it, it was running everything fine yesterday, maxed out Crysis 3 at a smooth frame rate, playing games like Battlefield 3 on highest settings and such, but today, every game has horrendous lag that renders the games unplayable, I have tried even going to medium and low settings but the problem persists, so out of curiosity I checked canyourunit, and now, it says I am failing for everything due to GPU, it is detecting only Intel HD 4600. The problem is not OS, as it was working fine the day before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Just ran GPU-Z
The NVIDIA Card is in the drop down list, Intel card shows up first, not sure about a turbo button
Also, it says on the nVidia website that PhysX is supported by the 765M but GPU-Z says it is not?

Msi ge600 switchable graphics , help plz

i tried to update my graphics and i downloaded the latest version (compatible) and followed these steps to install it :
1.- Reboot your laptop and enter the BIOS
2.- Go into the graphic properties and select "PEG" as the default graphic card.
3.- Reboot into Windows 7.
4.- Download and install the drivers from the support page of amd
5.- Reboot into the BIOS and set the graphic card back to switchable graphics.
but it didnt work , my graphics wont switch , now im stuck and cant do anything . games wont run properly and ...
plz help me ,

Try to use the driver from MSI download page. The generic driver from AMD support page can't support switchable graphics feature.

U330 + Windows 7 and Switchable Graphics Issue

Just installed the beta version of Windows 7. Only problem I'm having is dealing with switchable graphics. Can't really get it to switch between graphics card. I think it's using ATI which is drawing too much power. Anyone know a way around this? I don't expect this laptop to support Windows 7 yet but it's nice if anyone got any answers.

Maybe right, even if Windows 7 is just a rebuild of Vista kernel and such. When I try to switch to performance I notice the USB device connected sound. And the disconnection sound right away (0,1sec later). I hope lenovo will support Win7 on our laptops too

As James D has stated below, the GE70 has the dedicated card integrated to the motherboard, so your chances for upgrading are none. Sorry for any confusion I might have caused. Thanks James for clarifying. Early morning for sure.

MSI GT783 - Sound / Graphics issues

I bought the laptop a week ago, and am experiencing some strange issues with the laptop. The two games I use it for currently are Eve Online and Skyrim.
Skyrim: Game stutters (freezes for a second or 2, then carry's on). I read in some forum that this is caused by the Nvidia sound drivers. It recommends uninstalling / disabling the Nvidia sound drivers and then installing the latest Nvidia drivers. I tried downloading the latest laptop drivers for the card and disabling / uninstalling the Nvidia sound devices, but the Nvidia installation reports that "No supported device found" when I try to install. When I go to the Nvidia web site and allow the site to auto-detect, I get the message "GeForce GTX 580M detected - Lenovo requires that you download the driver for your GPU from their support site."
So, right now I am still sitting with the same settings and software that shipped with the laptop.
Eve Online: Also having sound issues with the game. Some of the sounds work and others don't. Some of the visual effects work and others don't.
Any advice please? Machine specs as follows:
Windows 7, 64-bit (SP 1)
16 GB RAM
i7 2.2 GHz CPU
GeForce GTX 580M

AC, I wish I could Game on battery lol & Idle temps are 36c-42c CPU & GPU is 37c-39c on load I max out at 71c GPU & 65c cpu with Crysis 2 on highest setting, cooling has always been a priority for me. Cpu wise everything seems normal, no speed drops of the like, I use CPU-ID, HWMonitor, GPU-Z, MSI Afterburner, and NVidia Inspector to monitor to make sure something was not throttling. The only thing that seemed odd was the GPU load not going up and my FPS kept fluctuating betweem 60(capped to monitor) and 43, and thats when this "skipping" type of lag would appear. I've removed new GFX drivers and put older drivers, I've scanned for viruses, ran an HD benchmark, nothing actually seems wrong until I open up a game. Oh, and sometimes I get a message from windows when I open games asking my to turn off aero and change to windows 7 classic desktop which makes ZERO sense considering I have an SSD, 12GB of RAM, and 2GB GFx Card. My windows experience scores are all 7.5, Memtest +86 shows no memory errors, So I'm stumped, Its barely been 3 weeks but I' considering formatting and seeing how that goes. Not sure what else to try.

MSI Z97i AC graphic issue

Hello.
i have built a new system, everything is fine, installing OS and drivers..
then moving to install Autodesk 3dsmax 2014, nicely done without problems.
before launching the program ( 3dsmax ) i was used to set the GPU to nvidia high performance in Nvidia Control panel, but i don't see this function anymore. and only Nvidia Control Panel is visible, no Intel HD properties.
Going back to bios, i can only choose PEG or IGD, there is no more PEG/IGD even i can still find this function in my old system.
however the only way to access the Intel HD properties, is to set bios to PEG with IGD multi monitoring and plug a 2nd monitor the Integrated graphic Dvi port.
i need to access to that function in nvidia control panel and set to each program its GPU ( Intel HD or Nvidia )
but as i said there is no more PEG/IGD in the MSI Z97i AC Bios, even i can still find this function in my old system.

Msi ge700 switchable graphics white screen problem

help me plssssss...... my msi ge-700 has wihte screen on the ati hd radeon 5730 graphics card. but when i switched it on the intel graphics, the screen works fine. When I plugged my laptop in an external monitor using ati gpu, it works fine. what should i do????? i disassembled my laptop, i plugged and unplugged the lcd connection several times, nothing happened. Still white screen on the ati gpu, but not on the intel gpu.

Based on the cross validation you did, it looks like either the build in panel or the cable has the problem. (so that's why a reconnecting isn't working)
I'd suggest to visit the nearby service center for a check.

Hi, when I go into the screen properties on the desktop it shows Intel Graphics 4600 as the adapter, why doesn't it show the NVidia GT765M as the adapter? If I start playing games will it be guaranteed the NVidia chip will be used? Also, when I ran the Windows Experience Index it seemed to use the Intel chip, is this correct? (It scored 'Graphics' as 4.9, but 'Gaming graphics' as 6.8. Is this normal?

its because display is connected to the Intel card, not discrete card.

depend what games you run, make sure to use latest Nvidia drivers from nvidia.com
to ensure that you will use latest optimus profiles for latest games.
else you can also force which GPU to use, by right click on the shortcut/exe file of the game application,
then choose "run on high performance processor"

Sometimes Intel one, other times Nvidia depend if the Nvidia card is active at that time or not.
But Windows Experience Index scores are very useless.

MSI R6870 Hawk graphics issues

Hello, I built my new computer a couple of days ago, with a MSI R6870 Hawk in it.
Two days ago I played Left 4 Dead 2 with the highest settings (something I would never have dared to do before) and the computer didn't even flinch, I was amazed. However, since yesterday I noticed some very annoying checkerboard-like artifacts flickering at first in TF2. At first I thought it was because TF2 files were corrupt or what have you, but whatever I did, these artifacts wouldn't disappear, and have now spread across various other games. Of course, the newest drivers are installed and everything. Checked with MSI Afterburner and GPU-Z, and temperatures are around 50-55 °C for all sensors after one hour of gaming, so I don't think it's overheating. No improvement after reinstalling the drivers.
Any help?

You got me wrong, respectively I left out a step in my logic. I could find out what's wrong with it on my own and I would find the cause, fair enough, and I didn't rule out that I wouldn't do it. What I meant was that in case it turned out to that the clocks were too high in its out-of-the-box state, I would not be satisfied with the product, considering that I would have dished out the money for this card only to have it clocked down. That's what I meant with counterproductive. Yeah, probably the wrong word indeed but you get the message.

MSI GE70 Keyboard/Mousepad issue

Ok, So for example when i'm playing a game if I want to move using the 'WASD' Keys its fine, but as soon as I use the mousepad to direct where I'm going, the mousepad does nothing. It just freezes and works intermittently as I release keys and press different ones. Is this a simple fix or something more? I have done a quick search of the forums and found nothing! Cheers in advance!

Touchpad doesn't work very well with FPS games. Use a mouse.

Bug on t400's fn+brightness? (after install switchable graphics)

well, i found a bug (not only my t400, but also several of my friends'), the FN+brightness problem.
1. AMD graphics
2. switch to INTEL graphics (fn+brightness function is just OK)
3. switch back to AMD graphics (fn+brightness is down,,,,) (fn+f5 f8 etc. are OK) (fn+pgup (light) is also OK)
A. log off --> log in (no use)
B1. restart (fine again)
B2. reinstall the hotkey features driver (include restart,,, ) (of course fine again)
C. switch to intel, switch back to amd, down again,,,,,,
is it a universal bug or there is something wrong with my system functions( settings, drivers etc.)

Another possible work around: after resuming from sleep, toggle to discrete graphics and back to integrated. See if that sorts it until the next sleep - and let us know, please.

[Y40] Switchable Graphics seems to not be working. Every game is running on the Intel HD graphics?

So, I went on the Switchable Graphics options. I put Counterstrike Global Offensive on the "High Performance" option. Which means it should be on my AMD Radeon R9 M275 2GB, right? I tried monitoring what GPU it uses as well, but that's bugged and won't tell me.
Anyways, on low settings, CS:GO lags to hell! What? This is a quad core i7 processor with a 2 GB card. Why can't I play CS:GO without lag. I'm talking about below 20 FPS. Even though it SAYS Optimum or High Performance, it seems to be running off of the Intel HD graphics.

I know this is an old thread but I had the same question and found the solution.
So, anyone else who is curious, open the AMD Catalyst Control Center and check the settings for the "Switchable Graphics Global Settings" and the "Switchable Graphics Application Settings".
That should fix the switchable graphics issue.

Driver issues for Radeon HD 6750M switchable graphic card

Hello guys, took time for me to decide wether to join forums like this just to get real help coz goggle doesn't show any solution with my issue. i was able to update my video card with the old raptr app from amd and allowed me to maximize the feature of my laptop. after format i can't install these drivers "sp52929 & sp61216" for the said graphic card and the new and updated raptr is not somehow working. i get this error "The contents of the file cannot be unpacked. the executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity and try again" (monitored the download and its not corrupted or anything) or using the driver from amd official site (tried different versions like amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit, AMD-Catalyst-HDMI-Hotfix-Win8.1-Win7-Dec10 etc.), the installation is fine but it's not functioning and this is the error i get "no amd graphics driver is installed or the amd driver is not functioning properly. please install the amd driver appropriate for your amd hardware" and "you do not have the compatible vga hardware to driver" during installation it reverts my resolution back to 800x600 as if it conflicts with the Intel HD Graphics Family. tried uninstalling intel hd graphics family first and install the radeon but it seems that the driver itself really is the problem. does anyone here experiencing the same? or someone here who can tell me what's really going on? thanks i advance Referrence: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/latest-driver-for-amd-graphic-card-not-working/m-p/5150764#M113344

MSI GE70 Blu-ray Drive Issue

Just bought a new msi ge70 2oe-017us 2 days ago and haven't had any issues with it until I had to use the blu ray drive today. After I insert a cd into it, it sounds like its loading and then gives off an repeatedly annoying noise. The disc doesn't get recognized at all either. The cd i'm using is working in another computer.
The bluray drive is a TSSTcorp DVDWBD SN-406AB, no flag in device manager and drives are updated.
I have a video of the sound it's making, but the forum won't allow me to post it.

looks like you may need to send it back if the bluray drive has malfunction.
