MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb, TV IN Capture

I recently purchaced a MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb (VTD) and im unable to get the tv in to work. Ive installed the nvidia capture drivers and connected the s-video lead from my VCR to my card. Is there a program i need to open or somthing in order to capture?

first. after instaling the wdm driver yous system sholud recognize 4 new devices...
the most important for you is the Nvidia WDM Video Capture (universal) couze it is the device that will by used to capture the video signal....
now you shoul use some program to view the video signal... any editing software should have some module to capture the video.. also if you have a bundled inter video software instal the winocoder as it is one of best (for me) viewers of the video in signal....
to capture the video you can use the inter video software (mpeg1 mpeg2) but try to use virtualdub's capture module as it alows to capture to any instaled codec ...and it is for free (http://www.sourceforge.net), you can also use windows media player if you dont have any other software

  • MSI GeForce 6200 128MB running DVI 1680x1050

    Hello,
My VGA is MSI GeForce 6200 128MB. VGA driver is GeForce 175.19
Monitor is Samsung T200 with native resolution 1680x1050 and DVI input.
When I set resolution to 1680x1050 using DVI output, desktop is streched wider than screen and I have to scroll down for taskbar or scroll right to show clock for example. Setting resolution at 1680x1050 using analog output, it looks fine except that desktop icons are slightly streched verticaly.
How can I get correct picture in DVI? Is it driver problem and what version is recommended to install?
    Thanks&Regards

Alrite thanks, I’ll see what I can do. A friend told me that older drivers might be more convenient for 6200 and he mentioned 91.31. So I might go with that.
Also browsing other forums I found this solution, and they said it will work well with static screens but not so well when playing games. Well this might be the last alternative, providing I don’t find solution with drivers.

  • MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB refresh problem

    Hi all!
I have following WinXP refresh problem:
When I set refresh rate to value bigger than 75Hz, system tells me that refresh rate was changed, but my monitor still shows me 75 Hz.
    My HW configuration:
    Athlon XP 2000+
    ABIT KD7 (VIA KT400 chipset)
    MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB
    IBM DeskStar 45GB 7200 rpm
    17" AOC 7GLr
I have tried various graphic card drivers (both drivers that were on CD supported by MSI and downloaded detonators from nVidia), for my monitor i have correct drivers from AOC. I was able to set refresh rate to 100Hz using PowerStrip 3.3. In SiSoft Sandra Professional i found warning, that i should use PnP/DDC compatible monitor or video adapter.
Guys from AOC support told me, that problem is probably in my graphic card.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance.  :(

I experienced the same problem with a new msi 440mx VTD (8x). I tried the latest detonator drivers (41.07 and 41.09) and could not get more than 75Hz refresh in any resolution, though the configuration told me it was 85Hz. In Monitor Inf my Iiyama MT-9017T has the specs 96kHz and 55-160Hz, that used to give me 1024x768@100Hz with my old graphics adapter.
    my configuration:
    Athlon XP 1600+
    Epox KTA3pro (KT133a)
    WIN2000

  • MSI Geforce Ti4200 bios woes

HI, since i flashed my video card bios, I have developed a couple of problems and want to flash it back to a previos bios (i used the tool to do it so not sure which i now have), however I cannot find a VGA bios archive anywhere on MSI sites or others. Can anyone help point me to them please, and the manual flashing tool.
Problems are...... corrupted display when resuming from sleep, and the startup screens are way too wide until i get into windows, not a problem until i try and get into bios and cant see the writing on the left/right as its cut off.yes i know i can adjust monitor but i shouldnt have to.

  • Msi geforce ti4200vtd 64 (PCI MODE)???

    specs:
    athlon xp 1700+
    msi k7n420 pro mobo
msi geforce ti4200 vtd 64 video
    256 pc2100 ddr
Using either msi or nvidia drivers, I can't get this out of pci mode.  Both card and mobo support 4x agp mode, but it only runs in pci mode.  Using msi drivers, changing to agp seems possible, but any check in the white box just disappears.  My 3dmark 2001se scores are about half what they were on a cheaper mobo using a 1gig duron.  Yes, the cpu settings are fine and it's running at its normal speed of 1.47ghz.  Nothing is overclocked.

    jeez, you are quick....thanks
i had the msi drivers, and it wouldn't let me change to agp anything... I uninstalled them and went to the detonator drivers, and agp is disabled in the ti4200 properties under the agp settings,
I dont see a place to enable it, and the slide scale to choose rate (1x,2x,4x?) won't move either.

  • Geforce fx5600 128mb fps

    okey wth ?
I used to have a geforce 2 mx400 with 256mb ram and had 99fps in counter strike up to 100
I installed the MSI Geforce 5600fx 128mb a while ago
I even putted in extra mb ram
and now, after so much tweaks etc I've come to the conclusion that the fps of this 5600 isnt even anywhere near that geforce 2, when I play counter strike lets say in a kz map, I have a max of 30fps :/
this really affects my gameplay and I want this fixed, how do I do this ?
    my system specs:
    Pentium 4 1,5ghz
    ECS motherboard
    1GB ram
    audigy soundblaster 2zs platinum pro
    120GB HDD
    300WAT power supply

tuning down the graphic detail in counter strike is not an option, it may be in ut2004 and so, but not in any half life mods
so basically I have to buy a new power supply ? :/
what is the point of buying a new graphics card for more framerates, if you have to buy basically a whole new computer ?

  • MSI Geforce 4 ti 4200 8x 128mb problems

I have recently purchased a 128mb 8x GeForce 4 ti 4200 video card, and i am having great dificulty geting it to work properly. Here are my computer specs:
Motherboard: Abit KA7-100 (latest bios update installed)
    CPU        : Athlon Slot A 800Mhz
    Ram        : Crucial 512mb PC133
OS         : Windows XP Pro / Windows 2000 Pro (latest updates installed)
    DirectX    : 9
    Harddrives : 1 Segate SATA 120 GB
                 1 Western Digital 8mb cache 120GB
1 Western Digital 27GB ata 66 (boot drive)
                 2 Western Digital 40GB ata 100 drives
Here is my problem: I can install the drivers for the card just fine, but whenever i try to play a movie (avi, mpeg), 3d game (or any game that uses the 3D part of the card, my computer freezes. I've installed several different versions of nvidia drivers for the card on my computer, but the outcome is always the same. The 2D usage of the card works just fine, but whenever a 3D program/game tries to use the video card, the computer locks up. I have noticed this effect when I bought a GeForce FX card as well. My previos Vid card was a Visiontek GeForce 3 TI 200 which runs very well no matter what I use it for (and after the abuse i put it through too...  XD ).  I have tried about 5 different drivers for the ti 4200, and have had the same problems.
I'm currently going to upgrade my motherboard/cpu/ram next week, but I'm dumbfounded on why these newer cards do not work at all on my motherboard. If you can help me this would mean a lot to me.
My current mobo only goes up to agp 4x, but i hardly think that would cause the vid card to freeze whenever i try playing any 3d game.
Can someone help meh?   :D   thnx.

    Hi,
It's been posted a couple of times but since I don't see any success stories yet; here's my problem. I hope you guys can help me out. I have tried to specify the system as much as posible but let me know when more information is needed.
When I play 3D games (and sometimes when I leave my PC without screensaver or 'doing' something) my system locksup after a short time (sometimes after 10 seconds other times a few minutes)and the whole PC locksup, I can't even use ctrl+alt+del to get out. My PC is brand new.
Important! The problem does NOT excist as soon as I install a different videocard, being a a Radeon 9200. However I would like to use my MSI card as it's performance is better.
    Videocard: MSI MS-Starforce GeForce Ti4200 with GP8x (NVIDIA Geforce4 Ti4200 with AGP8x), driver version NVDIA 4.1.0.7, PCI-bus 1.
Motherboard: Asus P4C800 deluxe, Intel 875P Chipser, FSB 800MHz, Dual DDR 400.
    CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2800
    RAM: 1024MB
    OS: Win XP Pro SP1
HD: Maxtor 6Y120M0 120 GB (3 partitions), driver (Microsoft) version 5.1.2535.0
    Soundcard: Blaster Audigy 2
Tried; updated & downgraded drivers for videocard, Scandisk, Defrag, installed all updates from Windows Update, updated drivers soundcard.

  • Video capture driver for MSI GeForce 2 Pro video card

    Hi,
I am in need of the nVidia WDM video capture driver for my Geforce 2 Pro video card. Model #M-8831. I was able to download it from the MSI/TW website over a year ago just fine. My computer crashed from a game bug a couple of months ago and MSI/TW does not list the capture driver I need any longer. I did email the company asking for help with no response back yet (after 2 weeks). You people may be my last hope.
I do have the cd that came with the video card, but I've never been able to install the capture driver from it. There is a button to install it, but it never gets loaded. I've tried browsing the cd and also tried installing it using the windows wizards with zero results. My only successful install was from the MSI home website.
If you need more information, please let me know.
     Thank you,

  • MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200-VTD8X question

does the MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200-VTD8X question video card have a sheet of copper on the back side of the video card?

I don't know because I don't have that video card, but on one of the hardware sites I've been to, it says the backplate is simply too light to be copper and they suspect it's copper-coloured aluminum. I am not sure, maybe someone with the card can check it out.

  • MSI Geforce FX 5900SP 128Mb or NOT?

Me and my friend just bought new MSI Geforce FX 5900SP 128Mb that came also with that VIVO cable and other accessories. I also looked on the sticker that was on the back side of the card and there it was writen that this card is 5900SP. All OK!
This card came in OEM version! Then I took a look around and I saw on the MSI internet site and elsewhere that 5900SP has also a heatsinks on the RAM. And my card does not have that heatsink on the ram that looks like a cooper half-circle around the GPU HSF.
My card looks same as MSI Geforce FX 5900XT which is not coz I have a VIVO function. Take a look for the MSI geforce FX 5900XT which does not have that heat sinks on the ram.
My ram is clocked as follows 2D: 300/700 and 3D: 400/700.
Anyone there with this version of FX 5900SP card - without the heatsinks on the RAM?
    Just curious what I have?!

Go to the link provided below and get the zipped excel spreadsheet that is provided by GlennVidia. It should answer your question I believe.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threadid=12335&sid=
I have the 5900FXSP 256mb which comes with a twin flow cooling system. (2 fans, one on each side incl the copper heatsink) where yours I believe is the 128mb SP version that comes with a fansink cooling system as a standard. The spec sheet points out the differences between the products.
    Hope this helps

My problem is that when playing :-) D3D games, the PC internal speaker makes BEEPS continously with irregular intervals.
No problem with MS office applications .
    No problem with DVD .
The motherboard BIOS is updated .
The VGA driver is too ( version 4107 ) .
I don't want to cut off the PC speaker .
Can anyone help me to resolve this problem ?

My problem is that these BEEPS comes from the internal speaker, and it sounds like this = 5 beeps in one second, two seconds nothing, 3 beeps in one second, long silence, then it starts again.
    This drives me grazy.

  • 640x480 and above, capture with MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTP

could anyone successfully perform this operation ?
The weird thing is that if I set a capture of something like 5 fps in VirtualDub and 640x480 (I tried with several codecs and thought that decreasing the fps would improve the bandwidth usage), it still doesn't want to capture anything -> 0 frames. The maximum I can get (15% frames lost) is 320x200 at 30 fps.  I tried to capture directly to memory as it's supposed to be very fast, no luck.
Maybe my system is not monster enough, don't know....   ?(   Or could that be the card which is limited for this ?
    MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTP - 1 gig RAM (DDR 333), Athlon XP 2100, IBM ICL35 120 GB - OS : W2K.
WDM 1.16 from MSI-CD. I tried with WDM 1.08 too.

your system is fine for this kind of job....
i have no problem in capturing full pal (768x...) in 30 fps (using included wincoder and mpeg1 or mpeg2 codecs) 60% cpu load on duron @1380
virtual bud will need somethong better then 1,3gh duron but i got no problems with 640x480 divx pro 5.02 25fps on my current sysetm (but the cpu load is high 75-90%) (0% frame lost)
some motion codecs (mjpg) will need both fast cpu and fast hdd....
uncompresed will produce so much data that even very fast hdd's will by to slow
but it is in fact weird 15% frame lost on 320x200 is much to high.. what board are u using?? are the latest 4in1 drivers instaled (very important for w2k) by shure that agpx4 and bus mastering are on... are u using any other extensin cards (tv tuner, off board sound, ide, lan??) if yes try removing them

  • MSI GeForce 4 TI 4200 and random lockups

Hey guys, i just got a new Geforce card, installed it, and i cant do ANYTHING even remotely related to graphics (even small animated movies on the internet) without a hard lockup or my screen going blank.

    Orm,
To start with your power supply could be too weak to run the Athlon XP(Guessing you have an Athlon XP) and the GF4 under load.  150W combined and 14A on the 3.3v RAIL is not enough.
You could try removing your your firewire, sound and nic cards, and unplugging your two CD Drives.
See if you can get any farther then.  Also get the latest Detonator Drivers from the nVidia Website. They should be on 41.09 now.
    Good Luck,
