MSI GeForce 6800 256MB PCI-E , NX6800-TD256E

I have seen this card for sale and it costs about 100€ less than other cards from the 6800gt series.
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.asp?sku=305437&cks=PRL
(swedish site)
and ive seen this card on many other sites as well, and they say that this is the specifications:
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/produ...ail.php?UID=624
so it is a 6800gt card? doesnt say "gt" on any of the sites...
i need to know why its so cheap and if it really works with SLI.
the modelname: NX6800-TD256E matches the modelname on the msi-site.
I dont understand why it is like this...need to buy a graphicscard soon and I want it to work with my new motherboard with pci-e sli.
can u guys help me out with this?

I see no indication of it beeing a GT, looks like a GF 6800 (non ultra, non GT - plain 6800 with 12 pipelines).
I believe the page they are linking to on the MSI website is simply the closest thing since MSI haven't posted the specs for that card yet.

My old MSI board went pop, i have sent it back to be replaced but will take a week or so, i purchased a new Gigabyte board GA-81945P-G and a new MSI Geforce 6800 GTO 256 PCE, the framerate i get is pityfull, i have checked everything in the bios, upgraded and downgraded drivers, Intel chipset drivers and everything i can think off, i read that this card is a properatry card and not ment for standard PC use, is this true ? does anyone else have or know of this issue and a fix or a resolve Please Please.

  • MSI GeForce 8600GTS 256MB GDDR3 size question

I am considering the  MSI GeForce 8600GTS (NX8600GTS-T2D256EZ-HD) passive cooling PCIe card for my computer.
Since my cabinet is pretty small and I have a oversized CPU fan, I need to know the space required for this card.
It seems like the cooling ribs are on the left side of the card (looking at the DVI connectors), but how much space is required?
    Can anyone help me?

I just installed this particular card in a couple of systems over the holidays. The cooling for the card is entirely on the side opposite from where the CPU and Northbridge coolers are located. I don't see you have any problems if that is what you are concerned with. It is a rather large card though. Of course, I have them installed in a COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 case which is ideal for me and my customers.

  • Msi geforce ti4200vtd 64 (PCI MODE)???

    specs:
    athlon xp 1700+
    msi k7n420 pro mobo
msi geforce ti4200 vtd 64 video
    256 pc2100 ddr
Using either msi or nvidia drivers, I can't get this out of pci mode.  Both card and mobo support 4x agp mode, but it only runs in pci mode.  Using msi drivers, changing to agp seems possible, but any check in the white box just disappears.  My 3dmark 2001se scores are about half what they were on a cheaper mobo using a 1gig duron.  Yes, the cpu settings are fine and it's running at its normal speed of 1.47ghz.  Nothing is overclocked.

    jeez, you are quick....thanks
i had the msi drivers, and it wouldn't let me change to agp anything... I uninstalled them and went to the detonator drivers, and agp is disabled in the ti4200 properties under the agp settings,
I dont see a place to enable it, and the slide scale to choose rate (1x,2x,4x?) won't move either.

  • Need help with MSI GeForce 6800. Pc says its an LE...

Hi all I did a search but couldnt find anything relating to my problem. If I missed it then I apologise in advance.
I bought an MSI 6800 and installed it but it says that the card installed is a 6800 LE.
All the packaging and the stickers on the card itself say its a 6800 but the pc says otherwise.
I installed all the software and searched for updates. I installed new drivers but still it says its an LE.
How can I find out if I got a duff card or a problem with windows and drivers ??
Is there a major difference physically on the pcb that I could check out ?
    cheers.
    JunkDuster

Thank you very much for the pictures.
I did what you said and guess what, yep, it said 6800 LE.
I now have the great displeasure of having to pay for postage to return this item and hope that I can get a full refund and go elsewhere.
That was the first and last time I will use that company again.
Cheers for your help in stopping me from getting ripped off.

  • Will these three other pieces work well together with MSI GeForce 6800 GT 256 ?

    Hello  :hypecrite:
I have ordered myself some new stuff ,and maybe a little late to ask for answers ,but ...
Wondering if my VGA : MSI Ge Force 6800 GT 256 which I will recieve tomorrow will work well with the following which are soon coming:
    *Corsair Value Select VS1GBKIT400 ; PC3200 1024
    *CPU AMD 3200 + 2.2 GHz
    *Motherboard MSI K8N Neo Platinum
    t
    If PSU is needed : Thermaltake Silent Purepower Polo12 W0032R - 410 W ;+ 3,3 , -/+ 5 V , -/+ 12 V.

I've got same Mobo and VGA. At the moment it seems to be not possible to oc the VGA stable higher than 400/1100 with fastwrites enabled (i've allready done vmod to 1.4V, without it freezed even at 360/1020). First i thought it was a VGA bios issue, but after some tests with different bios versions i think it's a driver problem (forceware or maybe nforce or both). Hope nvidia will fix this soon.

  • Which one is better Between RX800PRO-TD256E and NX6800-TD256E ?

Hello i have a dude... I need to know which one is more powerfull and better! please...i need a help! because ill buy one. I saw the specs but they have diferent technologies. which one i should choose???.write me please!!!. THANKS!!!... see ya!

Why don't you go, and get this one? it was released yesterday:
    XFX  Geforce 7800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16
Or I would recommend you these too:
    MSI RX800XL-VT2D256E Radeon X800XL 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16
(The memory runs a little faster than RX800PRO, and also have 16 Pixel Pipelines instead of the PRO version with only 12)
    MSI NX6800-TD256E (Riddick) Geforce 6800 256MB 256-bit DDR PCI Express x16
    Both cards are great.

  • MSI Geforce 7800 GTX with MSI Nvidia GeForce 7800GT in SLI?

Hi. I bought the MSI Nvidia GeForce 7800GT a few months ago with the intention of buying a second to run in SLI. Now i can't seem to find anywhere that sells it at a decent price. Originally i bought it from www.ebuyer.co.uk but they have discontinued it.
Could i buy a MSI Geforce 7800 GTX and run it in SLI? They should have the same gpu and the specs aren't that different.

  • Heat ram geforce 6800 ultra

i'm planning on installing a watercooling on my msi geforce 6800 ultra because the fan just makes way too much noise. therefore i can choose between a complete vga cooling or just a chipset cooling. so i was wondering... does th ram get hot when their not cooled or will they be just fine without any cooling?
i was also wondering if when i've installed the watercooling i can remove the extra powersupply and let the card run on the agp-power (probably not, but i only got a 460 W supply and i'm having powershortages (i already had to remove the tv-card))...

I do believe the RAM on the 6800 is GDDR3 which runs cooler than it's predecessors, however, I am not entirely sure.
I do know that some of the previous heatsink designs were basically consolidated solutions, meaning the GPU and RAM were cooled with a single heatsink.
If you take MSI's TopTech coolers found on some the 8X Ti 4X series, this was a prime example of this particular technology. I have found in several cases where I had failing fans, I had no alternative but to replace the cooler assembly with a single GPU fan such as the Vantec IceberQ 4 http://www.vantecusa.com/product-cooling.html# but the package only came with 4 heatsinks and the cards I had in my possesion needed 8. Needless to say I did not use them as I discovered that the card ran much cooler without them in a non overclocked situation, certainly ramsinks would have improved OC'ing performance but in a client situation, this was not necessary.
Ultimately what I noticed was happening was, that the all in one heatsink transferred heat from the GPU, to the heatsink and back to the ram chips that ran cooler anyways. Not the best solution IMHO.
Also there was an additional factor involved, and that was the systems I built had a side cover fan aimed directly at the card so in fact I didn't really need ramsinks.
In your situation, you may be able to get away with just the GPU waterblock, but for lack of my own experience with the 6800 I cannot say definitively that this would be the best solution for you. I do know that my X800's RAM is GDDR3 and seems to run cooler as memtioned above. But I am on air.
If you stay current with available systems by boutique builders that are featured in some PC magazines such as Maximum PC, you may have been aware that one system builder actually made a separate cooling solution for the ram as well.
I do not know if this is available yet, and you may find you may have to use a combination of air and liquid. You may not even need to do it at all. Hard for me to speculate

    Filip,
Set your Desktop to 16bit color. There is nothing on your desktop in 32 bit color. All it does is slow your comp down. Remember that when you play a game your comp is still rendering your desktop in the background, and 32bit color uses more CPU cycles then 16bit color.
    Richard
P.S. The color setting of your desktop has nothing to do with the color settings of your game.

I have already smacked myself on the nose with a rolled up newspaper for my current AGP configuration.  Now I just have to pick the mb and the video cards (2 x 7800's) to go in it. . .
    doggy
Heck, I was kicking myself last year for not getting SLI... not too long after I bought my Neo.
Don't get me wrong, my Neo2 has taken all the abuse that I've thrown at it without a hiccup. I just thought at the time that AGP still had some more life just because so many people were still using it.
The marketing powers that be have decided otherwise & are "forcing" the switch. Now it seems that the decent AGP cards that are still available are selling at a premium compared to their PCI-e counterparts... and they won't be around much longer. If I could still get a "current tech" AGP card at a competitive price, I'd probably do it.
Just the price of "progress", I guess.
For me now, it's the matter in which order my upgrade is going to go.... Buy an X2 now, in anticipation for the new board/card or new board/card now & keep the "old" CPU...?
Decisions, decisions....       Yup... new thread coming on!

  • NX6800-TD256E PCI Express - NOISE, NO ULTRA COPPER, very high FAN SPEED

Well I also have bought a NX6800-TD256E PCI Express.
The card was advertised at MSI.COM.TW with ULTRA COPPER and adjustable Fan Speed.
One week ago on the website of MSI the card had Ultra Copper. Now, not any more.  :hypecrite:
When I bought this card 4 weeks ago:
    1. the website information about this card was with UltraCopper
    2. the website of the dealer was with UltraCopper
    3. the packing is with ultra hopper
    4. now I can not adjust the fan speed
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/vga/vga/pro_vga_detail.php?UID=639
Even the packing shows ULTRA COPPER.
Nothing true, and this for EURO 365.00. Shortly in my mind this is unfair competition. There is a law in Europe: "law against unfair competition".  Maybe not in the US and TW.
Who else does have the same trouble ?
Is there a solution with MSI ?

This is a user to user forum only, no MSI techs or representatives are present.
If you have the means to follow up legally, then do so, but this is not a place to start a rant or a petition. Please contact your reseller for a refund or exchange.

  • Problem with MSI Nvidia GeForce 6800 LE (128MB) when playing 3D games

    Games problem
I have bought a new MSI Nvidia GeForce 6800 LE (128MB) a couple of months ago and have been have loads of trouble when playing games.
In windows, the graphics card works fine. The computer never crashes and everything is speedy. Movies on DVD, Xvid, Divx all play fine without problem, the most I get is the occasional freezing and then windows will be normal again.
The problem arises when I try to play a 3D game. When I load up the game it goes into the menu screens ok, the computer will load up the 3D engine and it will play for around a minute nice and crisp then the screen will go blank and computer will lock up. Then all the drives will go quiet and the computer will make 3 beeps with the PC speaker. Pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL at this point does nothing, nor does the reset button. I have to turn the power on and off.
I really have no clue why this is happening, I have taken the covers off and kept it in a cool area, hoping that it was something to do with over heating, my computer is not overly cluttered and this has made no difference.
I have also unplugged the CDR, DVDR, USB ports, one Hard drive (storage) to see if it was something to do with the power no getting to the Videocard and then tried to play a game and the same problem arose.
I have two games that I have tried, Tiger woods 2005 and doom III, both of which crash in the same manner.
I have tried to be as detailed as I can with the descritopn of my computer below and the power details I'm not sure about so I posted a picture of the power unit to help.
Many thanks for your help in this matter, I'm desperately trying to get some worth out of this card and feel frustrated that its going bonkers only when trying to play games :/
Please tell me if you require further information about the system.

Firstly, thank you for all your prompt responses, I really appreciate it. From the sounds of it, the PSU is ****
    antec
From what I have read, the Antec PSUs have good reliability and ratings. I looked around and saw this one: Antec NEOPower 480W ATX PSU for around £65. I also went read that article posted by Dr Stu, which then stumbled on more articles about PSUs.
    I have a couple more questions….
The rating of my system (http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/Power_Supply_Calculator.php) with all the components running came out to be 422W.  So do you think that the Antec NEOPower 480W ATX PSU would be sufficient for the computer considering I might add more RAM in the future?
Or should I buy the 500W+ one then?
Does anyone know if the Antec PSUs are quiet? My current q-Tec one makes me feel I'm in an aeroplane.
    lucky I read the forum!
I was in Maplins (computer shop) at lunch and thought, that shiny 650W Q-Tec looks nice and there looks like loads of power, that much do the trick. i got to the counter and thought.....let me wait, till i get home from work and read some more on the forum about this PSU issue.
Thanks god I didn’t buy that S***. having read some of the reviews, i would have wasted loooots of money for nothing.

    Hi
I'm totally fade-off with nVidia GeForce FX 5200 (MSI -T128) graphics PCI card. I've tried all options found on different forums and also with latest driver for the card both from MSI and nVidia. But non of these are able to solve my problem.
Even though, I have installed the latest driver for the card form nVidia or MSI, my system gives BSOD (infinite loop) on XP and system hang on Ubuntu/Linux. Request you to please help me out for this problem. Its dam sure something wrong in the card driver or BIOS settings as its occurring with any OS.
This is my last ray of hope, with a expection that some MSI people will help me out, else I'll have to throw the f**king card to bin. Sorry being unprofessional, but it seems that I have wasted my money banking on the brand MSI/nVidia.
    PC Configuration:
    1. Asus K8N motherboard (nVidia chipset, NO on-board graphics)
    2. MSI T-128 (nVidia GeForce FX 5200) PCI graphics card

    4. 512 MB DDR1 RAM

    6. AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Again request the nVidia people plz plz plz .. help me.
Note that, When I'm booting with safe mode in XP, the PC DOES NOT hangs.

  • MSI GeForce FX5600-TD 256Mb Tv-Out, DVI

    Hallo!
    I have a AND XP 2000+, 512 DDR 266,  MSI KT3-Ultra, MSI GeForce FX5600-TD 256Mb Tv-Out, DVI
and a 450W psu. Win XP Professional sp1
I have a problem with games and when i tested in 3dMark.
    It's score bad.
    3dMark2003: 2312
All drivers are up to date and i have tried to reinstall all components
Can Somebody help me Please? ;(

sorry but the only way you will improve your score is to lose the MSI FX6500. This is a renault 5 in ferrari clothing. It simply does not have the necessary fill rate to compete with even a Ti4200, trust me I spent 2 weeks trying to get it running to spec.
Basically only an Ultra or FX5900 will improve it.
Nvidia boobed on the design of the Graphics processor, the card can throw out frames well beyong a ti4200 capability but because it cant fill them quick enough it cant maintain the framerate.....still dont believe me ? Try thi, run 3d MARK, any version, in 640X480, youll notice that the score doesnt improve dramtically. 640X480 should mean more FPS but still no fill rate so it cant process any quicker.
I am well pi**ed of with my FX5600.
