MSI GeForce GTX 760 Startup freeze.

Hi, first I'll start by listing specs:
-MSI geforce gtx 760, 4gb GDDR5
-Gigabyte H81.Amp-Up, LGA 1150
-Intel Core i5 4570 LGA 1150
-Corsair Vengeance LP, 2x4gb
-Seasonic S12II-620Bronze (620 watt)
-Windows 8.1 64-bit
I just recently attempted my first build, while putting the hardware together seemed like a breeze, the updating did not go so well. I booted up installed windows and went on as normal. When I opened a game it was extremely sluggish, so I decided to see if updating the drivers for the GTX 760, First I visited the official site for the drivers and once downloaded and installed was prompted to restart to finish the download. Once it restarted the entire system seemed to freeze just before windows started up. I had control of the mouse, but windows seemed to never start up. Since I couldn't access Windows I decided to re-install it. It booted as normal, so I decided to use the CD that came with the videocard.  The exact same thing happened. I was thinking of updating BIOS, but that was a last resort sort of thing since I am admittedly not very tech savvy. Thank you ahead of time for your responses.

I actually found the problem late last night sorry I didn't post until now. The videocard wasn't getting enough power, I just switched leads. Thanks though.

What card do you have exactly? By the way meanwhile there is a GOP vbios for the OP but your individual card needs to be checked. You can't use any random vbios from techpowerup or such as even for the same model there are different versions depending on the batch of card.

Not sure by what "getting very slow"or "I always have to render that project" means but I assume you are having less than stellar performance.
What version of Premiere, what is the footage you are working with, what effects, if any, are you applying, what are you trying to get done?
I have an EVGA GTX760, i7 4771, 32GB and I have no performance issues in Premiere CC 2014.2. Renders are about 3-5% slower than CC but editing is real time with no issues.

  • MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB - Black Screen When trying to load games

Ok so I've been trying to figure this out the past 2 weeks and cant figure out whats wrong.
Whenever I try and load a game more my screen goes black and I can hear sound but nothing is is being displayed. I cant task manager out or ALR-TAB out. It just sits there and I have to power down my computer manually.
I've re-installed the drivers and have tried a different power supply since those are the 2 things I thought it would be and nothing is working.
Any help would be very much appreciated

Uninstall current driver in safemode using >>Driver Fusion<<. After reboot install current MSI driver: http://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/nvidia_33165_v7864_vga.zip
Did it twice and it still gives me a black screen when going into a full screen on games.

Looks like you will need to contact MSI and see if there are any unlisted updates. The only UEFI bios for the 46s is the one Svet posted.
    >>How to contact MSI.<<
Have you flashed the mainboard's bios to the most recent version?
I contacted MSI support team and here is the answer:
"sorry. MSI did not release that card(602-V284-46Sxxxx) UEFI BIOS, so we do not kown this BIOS GK104.rom if appropriate to your graphics card,so we suggest you update the  original BIOS."
They do not wan't to help me because I haven't got the official version of uefi bios. How could that be even possible? Was the bios that you sent me the official one (from MSI) or the modified one?

  • MSI GeForce GTX 760 TF 2gb Oc gpu clock impossible

Hello guys, so i've a problem since i installed Windows 8.1 + last driver.
I just can't Overclock my GPU "clock", lock at 1019 MHZ but no problem with the memory/voltage.
    My Vbios : NV274HM.3D1
    Last drivers nvidia : 352,86
    Windows 8.1 / 64bts.
Screen on msi afterburner about the clock.
    Thanks for helps

....Which one is a current screenshot?
I'm thoroughly confused now. You're sending different screenshots, not saying 'WHEN' they are from, and from what I can see in the screenshots, EVERYTHING LOOKS OK. If you aren't running a game, the GPU isn't going to run at MAX CLOCK.....that's pretty common knowledge.
Looking at your screenshots, with +229, the clocks look right as indicated. -109 looks OK too, according to the indication in the program.
If you aren't going to load a game and see what the clocks are while gaming, you're never going to see the true clock speeds. Until you start doing that, sending these screenshots is pretty pointless. The clock will always be the same for sitting at the desktop.

No, I'm using all kinds of MSI vgas for more than 10 years and have never seen anything like the pic in that thread. It's something the user did physically to this card as that doesn't happen just after time.
