  • What kind of TV-Out is on the 64MB Version of the MSI Geforce4-Ti4200?

    It´s very important for me:
What kind of TV-Out is on the 64MB MSI Geforce4-Ti4200? And what kind is on the 128MB Version? (The same?)
    Thanks
    Bloody Judge

The hub is not compatible. It sounds like the unit is powering the link to the TC.. which would cause the TC to freeze up. You might need a special USB cable which has just data connection but no power.
It is really hard to get info on hubs that work.. particularly because there are so many around and many are changed .. eg if you buy a belkin this year it fails when last years one worked.. that is because all the manufacturer is farmed out to various factories in China who use .. the cheapest parts available today to build them.. next week it could be different.
The TC just doesn't have a huge amount of memory to store drivers for every USB under the sun. So some work some don't. The best I have found is the cheapest brand x USB2. I would not bother with USB3 since that chipset is even more unlikely to be supported than USB2 ones.
I have tried to get people to add to a database.. not much so far.

  • MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X tech question

Hi everyone, I hope u can help me with this:
I'm planning on buying a MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X (Video In) from the United States which uses the NTSC system for Video, however where I live we use the PAL system for Video. So my question is will I be able to use the Video In feature of the card ?( ?? Do these cards work using both video systems or are there different video versions of the card?
    Thanks in advance!

    bondock,
It is my understanding that they will work with both systems. They do not make them market specific.
    Take Care,

  • MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB refresh problem

    Hi all!
I have following WinXP refresh problem:
When I set refresh rate to value bigger than 75Hz, system tells me that refresh rate was changed, but my monitor still shows me 75 Hz.
    My HW configuration:
    Athlon XP 2000+
    ABIT KD7 (VIA KT400 chipset)
    MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB
    IBM DeskStar 45GB 7200 rpm
    17" AOC 7GLr
I have tried various graphic card drivers (both drivers that were on CD supported by MSI and downloaded detonators from nVidia), for my monitor i have correct drivers from AOC. I was able to set refresh rate to 100Hz using PowerStrip 3.3. In SiSoft Sandra Professional i found warning, that i should use PnP/DDC compatible monitor or video adapter.
Guys from AOC support told me, that problem is probably in my graphic card.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance.  :(

I experienced the same problem with a new msi 440mx VTD (8x). I tried the latest detonator drivers (41.07 and 41.09) and could not get more than 75Hz refresh in any resolution, though the configuration told me it was 85Hz. In Monitor Inf my Iiyama MT-9017T has the specs 96kHz and 55-160Hz, that used to give me 1024x768@100Hz with my old graphics adapter.
    my configuration:
    Athlon XP 1600+
    Epox KTA3pro (KT133a)
    WIN2000

No problem with MS office applications .
    No problem with DVD .
The motherboard BIOS is updated .
The VGA driver is too ( version 4107 ) .

My problem is that these BEEPS comes from the internal speaker, and it sounds like this = 5 beeps in one second, two seconds nothing, 3 beeps in one second, long silence, then it starts again.
    This drives me grazy.

  • Can I Take Vidcaps On My Geforce4 Ti4200 VTD8X?

I want to make take vidcaps from my tv.  Can I do it with a Geforce4 Ti4200 VTD8X?
If so, how can I do it?  Do I hook the cable from my tv to the video in connector?

The card can only record a video feed, you can't connect it to an antena or cableTV outlet directly.
If you have a TV reciever box you can connect that to the card, or you can hook up your VCR/camcorder to the card.
If you have a choice you should use S-Video cable.

  • XP won't boot up fully with new MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 TD64

Here's the deal.  I had many problems installing any drivers for my new Ti4200 card.  I tried many different drivers but invariably always wound up with this message:
    ---Start---
    Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware:
    Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
An error occured during the installation of the device
    The data is invalid
Click Finish to close the wizard
    ---End---
However, I looked around and found this solution:
    ---Start---
Why do I get "data is invalid" error when installing drivers?
This error appears to be due to a protection problem in the Windows registry under Windows 2000 and XP and can occur with a variety of drivers (sound cards and SCSI drivers have been reported). To fix this problem, go to Start, Run... and type "regedt32" without the quotes to run the Registry Editor. Navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ENUM\PCI
and you will see a number of keys of the form "VEN_xxxx", where xxxx are strings like "1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_00011103&REV_04". Under each of these folders will be another folder with a long numerical name. Open each folder and look for the "DeviceDesc" which matches the hardware you are trying to install. Right Click on the "VEN_xxxx" for that device and select 'Permissions' and then tick "Allow" for "Full Control". Close Regedit and then continue with the installation of your device
    ---End---
I did that and was finally able to install the drivers.  Once that was completed, it asked me to reboot.
Now Windows XP doesn't boot up fully.  It gets to the part where it shows the splash screen for loading Windows XP and then shows a blank black screen at the time I would normally see the blue background to login etc.
Anyone know what the problem is here? I think it might be totally unrelated to my driver installation problem. The only thing I could think to do is upgrade my power supply but before I do that, any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the specs on the power supply:
    AGI HEC-300AR
    AC Input: 115/230V  50-60Hz  6/4A  Fuse Rating: F6.3AL/F6AL.250V-
    DC OUTPUT  +3.3V  +5V  +12V  -5V  -12V  +5Vsb
    MAX.A          20A      28A  12A    .5A  .8A     2A
    +5v&+3.3v Combined      165W Total Output 300W
Hope that tells you what I need.  Just looks like random numbers to me.
    Richard,
SB Live is in slot 4, how do I set it to IRQ 5 though?  Sorry, I'm just smart enough to be dangerous with computers.

  • Geforce4 ti4200 vtd8x not working

well i just built my computer and got my graphics card installed. it worked for about the first 10 times my computer came on and then totally quit.   i put my graphics card from my other computer in it and it works fine, but my new one doesnt get detected. is it defective?
    VIA P4PB-400 FL mother board
    400W PSU

Well, I guess your 400W power supply should be able to handle the job flawlessly, but do check the 3.3V and 5V amps, since some of the crappy OEMs make really bad power supplies..
I don't think the card is defective if it works on your other computer. Have you tried updating the BIOS on both your GF4 TI4200 and your mobo?

  • Video in on Geforce4 Ti4200 VTD8X

After couple of hours of rebooting installing and un-installing i cannot get the damn thing to work  X(
Is there anybody who has got this running like it should be under Win2000 ?
When i go into the device manager, everything seems ok, no yellow exclamation marks or anything else.
Tried svhs and composite in, nothing works.
I run Pinnacle studio 8 and this recognizes the drivers and source, but when i want to capture, i get an error msg.
    Thx,
    Fester

It finaly works, but not with studio 8.
Installed the winproducer thing and this worked.
Audio sounds messed up when i try to capture as dvd - mpeg.
When i capture as avi it is just fine ???
    Any ideas ?
Also got the vegas video demo, and this works to, but i have to capture to avi files and they tend to get rather large. I'm doing captures of 30 to 40 min's video's.

  • MSI GeForce4 Ti4200-TD8X unsolvable TV-Out problem?!

    Hi!
I have a strange problem with my GF4. I can't get the tv-out to work and I've tried everything that has been suggested before. It's like this:
I've tried to install the drivers that came with the graphics card, I've tried the lastest ForceWare (or what it's called), I've tried older detonator. Nothing works. Not even TV-Tool can detect that I have a TV-Out. I've tried to "force" the computer to recognize the TV connected, and I do get 2 screens in "Screen properties", but still no picture. Only the one below.
The only picture I get on the tv is colored stripes. It looks like this: http://www.pc-extreme.com/artikel/guide/detonator-tvout-problem_e/. I know that the TV works and the cable, 'cause it works from a friend of mines laptop.
So, does anyone have a solution for this problem? Can it be a hardware problem? Or, hopefully, a software problem? Please help me!

of course I've tried this. Still nothing.   no more tips or tricks?

  • MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 TD64

I know I can OC my card to 300/600 but... it's stable?. It won't  burn??? How long is good to use it OC'ed???
And my P4 1.7 is OC'ed at 2. It's safe to keep it like this?

It's safe to keep it like this?
By definition only the default settings are safe.
If you want an opinion (which might be wrong, there are no garantees for overclocking) it is safe as long as you add RAMSinks and get a better GPU cooler.

  • GeForce4 Ti4200-VTD8X (MS-8894) - Jumper?

    Regarding this vga-card..
I just bought this card today and i'm really surprised on how silent it is.. very good! I have a question though, what does this undocumented jumper do exactly? it says "work" and "safe", is it anything i should move around or just have it there by default?
Here it is for a close-up (green jumper-pin)..
    Hope you can help me.
    Sincerly,
    Tobias

Found the results on the forums! Dual bios!
    Thanks anyway! :]

  • GeForce4 Ti4200 x8 msi.. need capture help

I'm trying to capture video with my MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 x8 and the captured image doesn't stretch fully to the left and right edges of the screen.

This is an image captured from my xbox system, but it's just about the same when I connect my cable box to the card.
How can I 'stretch' the image horizontally so it fits into the screen correctly?
    -Thanks

  • Msi KT3 MoBo / MSI geForce4 TI 4200 Problem

Hello, hopefully someone can help me.  I am having a rather unusual problem.  Least I think it is.  I have a MSI kt3 ultra2 motherboard, 512 meg ddr 2100 crucial ram.  AMD XP 2000+ CPU and an MSI Geforce4 TI4200 video card.  First of all, what agp settings should i use?  4x? 2x?.  Secondly, should i enable agp fast writes?  And last, what are the other 2 settings in the agp setup in the bios which are like 1/2 or 2/3?
I also ran mad onions 3d mark 2001 SE and got a score of 4898!  This seems a little low to me.  Comparing online, I should be getting scores rannging from 9000 to 13000.  I have installed Nvidia Detonator drivers but they are the latest beta drivers.  Are these bad drivers?  None of my games ever freeze except for Soldier of Fortune 2.  It slows way down and when i ctrl+alt+del, it says i am using 100% cpu usage.  Can anyone help me?  I just want my system i bought a week ago to run at its full potential and have nowhere else to turn.

I am using Windows XP Pro.  I am running the 3d Mark 2001 SE with a 1024 resolution and no AA.  I am also using a 32bpp color depth.  The defaults when you load the program up for the first time basically.  I never did get a patch for SOF II although I should have.  Man do I fell like such a n00b.
Hey Jamie B, you said i should "disable support for advanced cpu controls is NOT checked".  Where is that at?
Thanks to all who have replied. :D   I appreciate it.

  • Share overclock #'s Ti4200-VTD8X (8894)

Would you please share with me your overclock numbers? I have the 128mb Ti4200-VTD8x video card. Motherboard is Shuttle KT266A with 1800+ AMD chip. I am running motherboard with BIOS driven optimized settings with no additional overclock in motherboard bios.

I recently built a system (specs below) and installed this card (MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X MS8894, 128MB DDR), and when I try to use Live Update 2 (version 3.33.000, from the CD that came with the card), I get the same message:
"Warning!!! Your Display Card does not support MSI Live Update 2 function.  Note: MSI Live Update 2 supports the Display Cards of MSI only."
I'm using the drivers/BIOS that came on the CD: Driver version 6.13.10.4107, BIOS version 4.28.20.05.11.  I see on the nVidia site that they have the 4109 drivers out now, should I try those?  ?(
I have also made sure to do the suggested modifications to IE (and I don't have PC-cillin installed):
"Note: In order to operate this application properly, please note the following suggests.
-Set the IE security setting 'Download signed ActiveX controls' to [Enable] or [Prompt]. (System default is [Prompt]).
-Disable 'WebTrap' of PC-cillin(R) or any web based anti-virus application when executing MSITM Live Update 2TM.
    -Update Microsoft® Windows® Installer"
I downloaded a newer version of LIveUpdate (3.35.000), and installed it (after completely uninstalling the old version), and got the same results.  Nothing on my system is currently overclocked.
