Msi Gf3 & Asus P4B533-e not works

Before I upgraded to this combination I had asus Tusl2-c.Everything works fine. Then I tried to upgrade to P4.When I tried to install Msi 30.00 drivers they tell me no generic.tv_ file, and after every restart Win Xp told me there is video adapter problem. Then I go back to Asus Tusl 2-c and everything work fine as before.
I can not belive that Asus P4b533-E and MSi Gf3 ti 200 not works together?

Atx case 300W Sky hawk , sqare connector +12V plugged into Mb. When I tryied to install vga card there reported me " cannot install generic.tv_ to destination directory".So I skipped that file, but after restart "problem with video adapter". Asus probe reported me:
+12v= 12.12
+5V = 5.10v
vcore= 1.525v

  • Msi enjoy71 tablet's camera not working

Hi ..can anyone please help me with my tablet's camera..I just got this tablet a couple of weeks ago,and the camera isn't working it keeps saying can't connect to camera or gallery has stopped ..first I installed another camera program from the play store it worked with the front camera but didn't work with the camera facing me..then I installed permission manager but it was useless.. at last I reset the tablet to factory reset.. and when I opened it the front camera worked but when I tried opening the camera facing me it stopped and said the gallery has stopped..and both cameras didn't work since then..one thing I have to mention ..that is a couple of days ago I inserted an old memory card I had in my old Mobile.. but discovered that some programs got effected and stopped working and I had to reinstall them again.. so I removed it..and that was before resetting the tablet...I hope you can help as I can't register in the official website for MSI..its not working... thanks alot

OK- ran hardware test as per manual. Nothing untoward found. So it MUST be a software issue, right?
This is the same MacBook Pro as the other one. Only THIS one was asked to use Firewire to transfer data from the one it replaces instead of me first registering it.
    Anyone have this?
Camera kind of works (flashes into dark sepia but quickly fades to either complete black or some white spots from lights) and green light IS on when it should be.

  • [SOLVED] ASUS Screen Brightness Not Working

I have been trying for a few hours to get my screen brightness to work properly. I'm on an ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A with kernel 3.9.6-1. I'm using efibootmgr to boot.
According to the wiki page and numerous posts, I need to use the acpi_osi="!Windows 2012" boot parameter. When I set it using efibootmgr, the keyboard backlight keys work (Fn+F[34]), but the screen brightness keys (Fn+F[56]) do not work. I have tried the following in efibootmgr:
    # efibootmgr -c -w -d /dev/sda -p 1 -L "Arch Linux" -l '\EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi' -u initrd=EFI/arch/initramfs-arch.img root=UUID=d0b32080-84f0-4c6b-933b-f62b880afc09 ro rootfstype=ext4 efi_no_storage_paranoia elevator=noop acpi_osi=Linux add_efi_memmap
    # efibootmgr -c -w -d /dev/sda -p 1 -L "Arch Linux" -l '\EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi' -u initrd=EFI/arch/initramfs-arch.img root=UUID=d0b32080-84f0-4c6b-933b-f62b880afc09 ro rootfstype=ext4 efi_no_storage_paranoia elevator=noop acpi_osi=intel add_efi_memmap
    # efibootmgr -c -w -d /dev/sda -p 1 -L "Arch Linux" -l '\EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi' -u initrd=EFI/arch/initramfs-arch.img root=UUID=d0b32080-84f0-4c6b-933b-f62b880afc09 ro rootfstype=ext4 efi_no_storage_paranoia elevator=noop acpi_osi= add_efi_memmap
and a few others. The particularly peculiar thing is when I use a UEFI shell to boot with my script:
    echo -on
    \EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi root=UUID=d0b32080-84f0-4c6b-933b-f62b880afc09 ro rootfstype=ext4 add_efi_memmap efi_no_storage_paranoia initrd=EFI/arch/initramfs-arch.img elevator=noop acpi_osi="!Windows 2012"
it works fine (both keyboard backlight and screen brightness).
What am I doing wrong? My hunch is that I'm doing something wrong with the formatting of acpi_osi="!Windows 2012" but I'm pretty sure I've tried every combination of different quotes and escaping different things. It's also worth nothing that the "!" gets interpreted by bash in some of these permutations making efibootmgr not actually run.

    WonderWoofy wrote:
Because you are entering it in a shell, you need to escape some of the things in the acpi_osi="!Windows 2012" string.  So for example, the double quotes are intended to be entered exactly as is in the resulting efibootmgr entry, so these should be esacped since they would otherwise have a special meaning in the command line.  The same is true for the exclamation point.  So I think you would have to do:
    efibootmgr -c -w -d /dev/sda -p 1 -L "Arch Linux" -l '\EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi' -u "initrd=/EFI/arch/initramfs-arch.img root=UUID=d0b32080-84f0-4c6b-933b-f62b880afc09 ro rootfstype=ext4 efi_no_storage_paranoia elevator=noop acpi_osi=\"\!Windows 2012\" add_efi_memmap"
BTW, this is just a copy/paste of one of the entries above (slightly fixed).  I added a '/' to your initrd entry, as it is supposed to be an absolute path, not a relative one.
Edit: I too started out with a direct efibootmgr entry when getting to know UEFI.  But I think that a better solution is to use a boot manager.  I like gummiboot, but I also keep rEFInd set up as well.  By doing this, if you ever want to chane something on your kernel command line, you can just edit the config before reboot.  But I think that were it is really useful is if you need to modify the kernel command line before you boot, as it is not possible with a direct efibootmgr entry.  If you want to make it seem seamless, just set the timeout to zero in efibootmgr, and then if you want to get to the menu, you just hold the spacebar while booting.
The reason I wanted to use a direct efibootmgr entry was because I thought it would be faster.  But because gummiboot and systemd will actually give you the time it takes to boot which includes the time in the firmware (POST) as well as the time it takes to get through the boot manager, I have actually found that my system takes a whole 14ms from the end of POST to starting to load the kernel.
Edit2: BTW, I also quoted the entire srting of arguments on the kernel command line, which it need in order to be fed to the '-u' option as a single string.
I'm afraid that still doesn't work. I've tried similar things and tried that specifically.  In case you're wondering, the command you listed gives me the following output:
    $ sudo efibootmgr -v
    BootCurrent: 0000
    Timeout: 2 seconds
    BootOrder: 0000
    Boot0000* Arch Linux HD(1,800,96000,bee2185e-de97-4dc0-9614-830639991bc3)File(\EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi)i.n.i.t.r.d.=./.E.F.I./.a.r.c.h./.i.n.i.t.r.a.m.f.s.-.a.r.c.h...i.m.g. .r.o.o.t.=.U.U.I.D.=.d.0.b.3.2.0.8.0.-.8.4.f.0.-.4.c.6.b.-.9.3.3.b.-.f.6.2.b.8.8.0.a.f.c.0.9. .r.o. .r.o.o.t.f.s.t.y.p.e.=.e.x.t.4. .e.f.i._.n.o._.s.t.o.r.a.g.e._.p.a.r.a.n.o.i.a. .e.l.e.v.a.t.o.r.=.n.o.o.p. .a.c.p.i._.o.s.i.=.".\.!.W.i.n.d.o.w.s. .2.0.1.2.". .a.d.d._.e.f.i._.m.e.m.m.a.p...
I also tried putting the -u argument in single quotes so that I don't have to escape the double quotes or the !. That also didn't work. Thanks for your suggestions, I'd be happy to try more, I've tried a lot already to no avail :-(

    Hello All
I recently got MSI K8N Neo 3 but the problem is that I don't able to detect the sound card in Windows XP.
The sound card don't detect in Windows XP Service Pack 2 Till November 9 Updates.
    My System Specs are
    MSI K8N Neo 3

  • MSI P67-GD65 B3 Sound not working.

Hey guys, I don't know whats up but my sound is not working when I plug my speakers in the back.
When I plug the speakers in the front of the case they work fine. The Realtek HD Audio Manager even reads that I have plugged something in when I plug the speaker in the back. All the ports on the back are read by the Realtek Manager but no sound comes out when I try to test them. I even make them the default Device in the sound panel.
    I am running Windows 7 64 Bit.
My monitor speakers also work fine, and my monitor is running on HDMI on the Geforce 560ti card.
    Here are my Specs

Perhaps you can also try to deactivate (temporarely) all non-Realtek-Audio stuff in device manager (just to make sure that there is no interference).
As it looks, some short-circuit problem is either completely knocking out the back-panel audio ports (hence the suggestion to test the whole thing outside the case (barebone setup)) or the ports are defective (whether or not this has been so from the beginning or happened as a result of some short-circuit issue, is irrelevant at this point).
In case the problem still occurs when the board is sitting outside the case, the next logical thing is to assume some sort of defect, which means that unless you want to live with this issue, an RMA procedure is probably in order.

hi guys, well there is not much to say only that my hdd led not work, rarely i put attention on it, but just when i see... is gone... sniiiff.. i tryed change the led, invert cables, and the raid controller has nothing to do with this issue, sometime ago i have power issues, and during those times the led suddenly "wake up" , then i change the psu, and hdd, now i have sata hdd, and somebody told me the led not work with the 3· ide or sata, culd be the data cable
    thanks

"...yes yes i know that, right now using sata i know the hdd led not work, but when i-m using ide drive either, thas wy i saying may be the ide cable.thanks..." That's not what you said in your first post. IF IDE HDD works (even if HDD led doesn't work) then IDE cable should be OK. Perhaps HDD light case/mobo connection has a problem.

  • MSI 865PE NEO FISR2 Audio not working properly

The audio on my board is not working properly.  I have it set for 6 channel and am using Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 Speakers that have 3 inputs that match the 3 output jacks on the mobo.  However, its just not right.  It is sending anything to all 5.1 speakers and also to the proper speaker at same time.  So every sound is coming through all speakers and it a tad louder on the speaker it should be coming out on.  Anyone else have any clue as to what setting I can change to correct this or is this something wrong with the cmedia drivers?

The answer to all your suggestions is yes, already did it and in the demo app the sounds work fine.  Its just so odd, I may just go to Circuit City tomorrow and buy another set of speakers and see if it is possibly them that are causing the issue.  Then if so, I'll just return the Creative Labs ones as I just bought them 2 weeks ago and CC has great return policy
Actually, one of your questions I did not either understand what you meant or did not see the option Quote
Did you enable the output port correctly - LR to LR, surround to surround, center/lfe to center/lfe
The only thing I see is setting phones, 2, 4 or 6 channel in the cmedia control panel and then I plugged in the proper cables.

So down to the nitty gritty  . My computer is running Windows 7 64 Bit, i have downloaded all of the updates and all of the Chip-set drivers, Bios, etc... i ran a system registry tool to clean up any errors in my registry and i have ALL of my drivers up to date.
I have my USB mouse and keyboard that connect fine and are recognized by my computer, sometimes they stop working and start back up within seconds but windows does display any type of error or disconnection "this may have been fixed due to the registry cleaner i used i haven't had any hiccups yet" so i have my USB mouse and USB keyboard working fine and dandy now i think. got a new headset and the windows finds the USB Headset and it works Perfectly fine. BUT and this is where my whole frustration comes out. Whenever i connect my I-Pod Touch, I-Pod Nano, My Cell phone to copy files to from my SD Card, or my External My Passport drive Windows says "USB Device was not recognized" notification and in the Device manager it shows the one device with a yellow exclamation point and says "Unknown Device" I have tried to uninstall the USB hubs and reinstalled them perfectly restarted windows, still non of the devices work. i have tried making sure that windows tries not to turn off the device to save power, when i say i have tried almost everything i mean everything that is related with USB Device not Recognized. So i do not know what to do now, i have contacted the Manufacturer and they don't know squat about it or what could be causing it. the only thing i can think of is there is some hardware maybe that is not compatible i do hear some beeps when i start up i will have to come back and update how many beeps" i saw another post that it means the motherboard is trying to tell me something maybe this could be the issue. but i have tried every single usb port and non of them Recognize the device but when i plus in my mouse and keyboard in diff ports they still work so i am a bit confused. my last step is to return the computer to the manufacturer for a replacement or repair w/e i do not want to do this cause this should be working. my friend has almost the exact same MB and equipment and his works fine so i am getting a little frustrated with the issue Someone Pls Help me out. And yes i have tried turning off the computer, unplugging it and pressing the power button, and waiting like 1 Hour etc and still nothing. Drivers are Up-to-Date and Mother board bios and chip-set drivers are Up-to-Date as well. I hope someone knows or has an answer to help me out!

Yes the Bios is Up-to-Date and they are not plugged into the Blue USB 3.0 ports(x2). oh and forgot to mention already did a clean install again of Windows 7 64bit and still nothing.  Im also wondering if the power supply is enough?? maybe?

  • ASUS GEFORCE GT640 not working with the latest M92p 2992-B3G BIOS

    I've got a ThinkCentre M92p (2992B3G) that I bought over 6 months ago.
It's a pretty standard setup, and I haven't done anything to the hardware except upgrading it to 8GB of memory and adding a new SSD for my system drive. In addition I purchased an ASUS NVIDIA GT640 PCI-e video card as the default video card doesn't put out much performance for even the most casual of gamers. I'm running on Windows 8.1, with all updates installed. I've always been very tidy, so I've kept myself up-to-date with all the latest Windows Updates, and updates from the Lenovo System Update tool.
This setup worked great for several months, until one dreadful night where a new BIOS was presented by Lenovo System Update. I can't for the life of me remember the exact version number of that BIOS, but I do know it was released a week or two before the 14th February 2012. The change logs for Lenovo's BIOS updates doesn't include a release date, but I g
Either way; I download the BIOS update for Lenovo's websites, burned myself the ISO-image version, and went ahead with the flash as I've done many times before, even on this computer.
This is were my issues began; after the BIOS update I cannot for the life of me get any PCI-e video cards to work. Once the computer booted back up, the display was simply blank; not even a POST-message, and much less any display from the operating system itself.
With the PCI-e video card installed I can't the BIOS settings either. Therefore I have to remove the video card, make the necessary BIOS setting changes, and insert the video card again before booting.
Bottom line; my GEFORCE GT640 worked fine until the BIOS update, after which it doesn't work anymore.
    Here's a few things I've tried so far;
I've tried both my GEFORCE GT640 and my RADEON HD640. No luck with either.
I've tried my GEFORCE GT640 in another rig. Runs just fine, so the video card isn't faulty.
I've tried my RADEON HD7750 in another rig. Runs just fine, so the video card isn't faulty.
I've tried four different monitors (two from BENQ, one from ASUS and one from DELL). It's not a monitor issue.
I've tried different video card settings in the BIOS (AUTO, PEG etc). No luck.
It's not a driver issue. I've tried booting both Windows 7 and Windows 8, and in both cases I've tried it with a variety of drivers installed (and not installed). Tried drivers both from Lenovo and NVIDIA's official driver packages. It's not a driver issue.
I've tried 3 different DVI-cables, a VGA cable and an HDMI cable. All work on other rigs, but not with the PCI-e card in the M92p.
Yes, I do upgrade my BIOS from a bootable CD, and no, I didn't brick the motherboard
The funny part to this story is .. when I contacted Lenovo Support, believing that my motherboard was fried.
They asked me to contact InfoCare, one of their sub-contractors, to help me replace the motherboard. On the 13th of February 2012 an on-site support technician from InfoCare came to replace the motherboard. After he replaced it, we tried it out my GEFORCE GT640 to see if the problem had been resolved; EUREKA! IT WORKED!.
However, the support technician insisted to update the BIOS before he left. At the time I didn't know the BIOS was the real issue, so i stupidly agreed. He did his job, and left. I didn't reboot the computer again before I brought it home that day; and what do you know? I got home, booted up the computer, and got the exact same problem I had earlier; black screen, as if the PCI-e video card wasn't even there.
That gave me the idea that the BIOS was to blame, so I began searching around on Google, Lenovo's Community Forum and so forth. That's when I found out that Lenovo had a reputation for white-listing certain WiFi extension cards, video cards and so forth. The only speculation as to why they did this was users saying that it was because only certain combinations of e.g. a motherboard and video card was not FCC-compliant.
What sucks with this is that it wasn't always this way; in the case of the M92p 2992-B3G that white-list was added with a BIOS update.
So why don't you just flash back to an older BIOS version?
Easier said than done; there is no earlier BIOS version.
Well, there are earlier versions, but they're no longer available to the public. I've dug around pretty much everywhere, and there's no downloads available anywhere, only the latest BIOS versions are available for download.
So unless you've got an old ISO-image lying around, or happen to have the .img files in your C:\SWTOOLS, then you're pretty much screwed.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can go further from here?
The only suggestion I've got so far is to replaced the motherboard with a new one, which likely has the factory BIOS. That's pretty much what I did when the on-site support technician helped me last, and that worked like a charm until he flashed the BIOS again.

    UPDATE #1
If found an interesting reply to this post, where a user posted a link to a graphics card compatability matrix from July 2010, telling a M58p user that one of the video cards he wanted to purchase was not compatible with his machine type.
He also speculates that Lenovo only white-lists low-power graphics cards such as the Quadro NVS because of their low power consumption. Then again, he himself uses a card that's not on that compatability list (a GEFORCE 310) without any issues.
Is there an updated compatability matrix available, that also includes the M92p?
    UPDATE #2
Could this problem been a result of LENOVO adding UEFI support to its M92p BIOS to comply with Microsoft's requirements for Windows 8?
    If you check the specifications for the ASUS GEFORCE GT640, and scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see the following;
"* No native UEFI BIOS support, for UEFI BIOS, please download from ASUS technique support site. (The update tool only for ASUS MB.)"
Could this be the o'holy grail for my problem?
If this is the case, I am willing to purchase a new video card with native UEFI support (e.g. the SAPPHIRE RADEON R9 280), and see if that one might work.
    Solved!

    The interesting parts in this post are as follows;
When an after-market graphics card is installed into a motherboard with UEFI enabled in the system BIOS, or if the system is a certified Windows 8 PC with Secure Boot enabled, the system may not boot.
UEFI is a new system BIOS feature that is provided on most new motherboards. A UEFI system BIOS is required in order for the Windows 8 Secure Boot feature to work. Secure boot is enabled by default on certified Windows 8 PCs.
In order to get the PC to boot with a graphics card that does not contain UEFI firmware, the end-user must first disable the secure boot feature in the system's SBIOS before installing the graphics card.
Note: Some system SBIOS's incorporate a feature called compatibility boot. These systems will detect a non-UEFI-enabled firmware VBIOS and allow the user to disable secure boot and then proceed with a compatibility boot. If the system contains a system SBIOS the supports compatibility boot, the user will need to disable secure boot when asked during boot process
    This leads me to believe that the BIOS update that wrecked my setup was 9SKT58A/9SJT58A, which only contains one change;
"Adds support for updating BIOS from a WIN7 BIOS to a WIN8 BIOS".
I've just ordered a cheap UEFI-compatible GT640 from Gainward, so I hope I'll be able to try that out this weekend.

  • Cannot update graphics card BIOS, MSI Live upate 6 will not work.

Live update 6 does not support "MSI Radeon R9 280x Gaming 6G" graphics card.
Live update 6 does not run.
Even tried mass loading Live update 6 to the point it had 800+ "Live Update.exe 32*" processors running in task manager and they soon disappeared 20 seconds later.
    No UI.
    No Error message.
If the program is not running it is clear it does not support any of the hardware in my system including "MSI Radeon R9 280x Gaming 6G".
As a result I cannot update to latest BIOS for my graphics card.
Operating system: Windows 7 64bit (last update 05/09/2014 6 days ago)
    CPU: AMD A8-6600k APU @ 4.60GHz
RAM: 8GB Dual channel Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer DDR3 1866MHz CL9
    Motherboard: Asrock FM2A88M Extreme4+
    GPU: MSI Radeon R9 280x Gaming 6G
    GPU details:
Am I required to have an MSI motherboard to be eligible for a graphics card BIOS update?
The reason why I seek this is because the entire line of R9 200 series graphics cards are plagued with screen flickering due to ULPS. BIOS updates for other vendors of the card; "Gigabyte", "Asus" etc have been reported to fix the monitor flicking ULPS causes however since I have an MSI GFX card I cannot use Gigabyte and Asus BIOS updates.
I no longer have the flickering issue due disabling ULPS and overclocking the graphics card however it's causing the card to operate at a constant 48 degrees and chew power.
With the overclock values and stress testing it with Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 (extreme preset) the card reaches a max of 74 degrees over the course of stress testing for 4 hours.
But I would like to be able to have my card at factory clock settings with ULPS without the flickering and I'm wanting to see if the staff at MSI are fully aware of the bug in their product line and if the latest BIOS version for the graphics card would fix the issue.

No but live update is flakey at best and i wouldn't trust it.... (seen far to many problems with it)
if you want a Updated VBIOS if one is available please supply these 2 things and then one of the other mods will be able to get you what is needed!
1: Serial number of your card (leave off the last 3 digits and then there is no unique information about your card as the rest is all just manufacture data to all the cards from that batch)
2: click the little icon to the side of your BIOS version number and save a copy of the VBIOS to a file and uplaod it to somewhere and give us a link to the file... (use somewhere like Dropbox)
once we have those 2 pieces of information someone here will be able to get one if Available for your card

  • MSI Gaming G Series Mouse not working with MSI GS70 2QE Stealth Pro

    Hi,
since i bought this notebook I had different troubles with this mouse (included with the notebook)
The mouse often stutters, lags, goes in idle not only in games but also in Windows 8, causing playing FPS being impossible. The pop-up "USB Device Not Recognized" appers sometimes, such as the sound you hear when you plug/unplug any usb device. All latest drivers have been already installed.
I tried to use another mouse and it works perfectly on the GS70. Same time I tried the gaming mouse on another PC and it works perfectly too. So, it's the combination "Gaming Mouse + GS70" that won't work at all.
    Any ideas?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

Maybe uninstall and reinstall the drivers without the mouse connected? Are you using a USB hub? I had problems similar to what your describing with a MSI mouse while using a hub, before.

  • Followup-- MSI P6N SLI Platinum does not work with E8400

I am just following up like I said I would... and the *RMA'ed* E8400 still fails to post with a BIOS updated (v1.6) P6N SLI Platinum. It works fine with an E4500... but not the E8400. MSI really shouldn't say it's compatible when it's not. I am going to send the board back to Directron and replace it with the new Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L. Very unhappy with MSI right now and probably won't buy from them again. I'm going to stick with another gigabyte for now. Anything I can do before sending it back tonight? I am very disappointed, especially because this really is a perfect board for me.

You can drop MSI an email to see if you are able to get an engineering BIOS to try out.
