For starter, sorry about my bad English !
Sys Specs:
Amd Athlon 900 (o/c 945)
320 MB ram
MSI K7T Turbo 2
MSI gf4 ti4200 td64 64mb
Last week I bought my video card. I didn't have problems until few days ago. Mouse movement in Win XP is choppy, not all the time. I played with sample rate but that didn't help.I tried my old gf2 mx400, and i didn"t have problems. I was reading threads and I realized that the problem may be in power supply. It's a bit old (about 2 years :-) ), iam not sure is it good if it is warm . This problem occurd just after the problem with HD (detection problems, messed HD name..), i checked IDE cable, it's good. 3d expirience is not shownig voltages and temepatures. Fuzzy logic 3 somtimes alerts that the temperature in chassis is 131C!! which is impossible. I sens lack of fps in games.
Please help!

  • MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X tech question

Hi everyone, I hope u can help me with this:
I'm planning on buying a MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTD8X (Video In) from the United States which uses the NTSC system for Video, however where I live we use the PAL system for Video. So my question is will I be able to use the Video In feature of the card ?( ?? Do these cards work using both video systems or are there different video versions of the card?
    Thanks in advance!

    bondock,
It is my understanding that they will work with both systems. They do not make them market specific.
    Take Care,
    Richard

  • 640x480 and above, capture with MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTP

could anyone successfully perform this operation ?
The weird thing is that if I set a capture of something like 5 fps in VirtualDub and 640x480 (I tried with several codecs and thought that decreasing the fps would improve the bandwidth usage), it still doesn't want to capture anything -> 0 frames. The maximum I can get (15% frames lost) is 320x200 at 30 fps.  I tried to capture directly to memory as it's supposed to be very fast, no luck.
Maybe my system is not monster enough, don't know....   ?(   Or could that be the card which is limited for this ?
    MSI GF4 Ti4200 VTP - 1 gig RAM (DDR 333), Athlon XP 2100, IBM ICL35 120 GB - OS : W2K.
WDM 1.16 from MSI-CD. I tried with WDM 1.08 too.

your system is fine for this kind of job....
i have no problem in capturing full pal (768x...) in 30 fps (using included wincoder and mpeg1 or mpeg2 codecs) 60% cpu load on duron @1380
virtual bud will need somethong better then 1,3gh duron but i got no problems with 640x480 divx pro 5.02 25fps on my current sysetm (but the cpu load is high 75-90%) (0% frame lost)
some motion codecs (mjpg) will need both fast cpu and fast hdd....
uncompresed will produce so much data that even very fast hdd's will by to slow
but it is in fact weird 15% frame lost on 320x200 is much to high.. what board are u using?? are the latest 4in1 drivers instaled (very important for w2k) by shure that agpx4 and bus mastering are on... are u using any other extensin cards (tv tuner, off board sound, ide, lan??) if yes try removing them

  • Does exist the MSI GF4 TI4200 VTP8X?

Hello, I live in Spain and I go to adquire a MSI graphics card. I'll buy a GF4 TI4200 VTP 8X, but I think that model doesn't exist because in the oficcial page not appear, only appears the TD 8X and the VTD 8X models. But in http://www.alternate.net that model exist! What happen? Exist or not exist?
    Thank you very much !!!
P.D. Sorry for my English, it isn't very well

I had the same problem with my MSI  G4 Ti4200-VTD8X.
I did the same manual loading of the capture program. Didn't work. Look in control panel under your hardware and see if there is a yellow "!" next to the part that mentions "capture."  Every time that was there the in didn't work.
I would uninstall and try it again.
Sometimes it would work for the day.  I would even shut the computer off and when I would turn it back on, it would still work.  Shut it off for the night and the next day it wouldn't work again! Go figure!!! Do a restore to the point where I shut the computer off for the night, and it still wouldn't work.
I believe it worked for good when I loaded the 4072 drivers.  I did not install the manual program (I think - I did so  many un/installs I can't be sure).  Now the funny thing, those other little installs are not in my harware.  But it works.  I can't explain this.
Basically, uninstall the whole card driver , not just the capture.  Reinstall the card driver without that other manual capture program.  Just keep trying installing and uninstalling and checking out WinProducer to see if the capture option is there.  If it still doesn't, try the manual capture program.  Just keep trying different combinations.
Sorry that this isn't more of a step by step, but it worked for me.  Hopefully MSI will put out another driver soon that will fix this once and for all.

  • MSI GF4 Ti4200 Video-in/capture on secondary monitor.???

    Hi,
I have an MSI Ti4200-VTD8X (dual head, Video I/O).  I am running it in dual monitor setup.  When i try to view the video input on the secondary monitor i get the message:
"due to limitations of your computer's display device, this video can only play back on one of your monitors. please move the video window completely onto that monitor"
Does anyone know if this is a driver problem? or really it is a limitation with the card?. though i do not know why would the card be able to view the video capture window on one monitor but not the other?.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
    L.
    P.S.: system:
          MSI T14200-VTD8X  128m
          ASUS A7v8x Mobo
          512M RAM
          Win XP

Yes, I am using NVidia's nView as well as their WDM drivers.  my dual monitor support seems to work fine.
Only if i want to see video input feed using something like win_DVR  or Win_VCR or even Win_Producer that i get this message if the software/input winodow was on the secondary monitor.
Any help would be appriciated :D

  • XP won't boot up fully with new MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 TD64

Here's the deal.  I had many problems installing any drivers for my new Ti4200 card.  I tried many different drivers but invariably always wound up with this message:
    ---Start---
    Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware:
    Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
An error occured during the installation of the device
    The data is invalid
Click Finish to close the wizard
    ---End---
However, I looked around and found this solution:
    ---Start---
Why do I get "data is invalid" error when installing drivers?
This error appears to be due to a protection problem in the Windows registry under Windows 2000 and XP and can occur with a variety of drivers (sound cards and SCSI drivers have been reported). To fix this problem, go to Start, Run... and type "regedt32" without the quotes to run the Registry Editor. Navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ENUM\PCI
and you will see a number of keys of the form "VEN_xxxx", where xxxx are strings like "1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_00011103&REV_04". Under each of these folders will be another folder with a long numerical name. Open each folder and look for the "DeviceDesc" which matches the hardware you are trying to install. Right Click on the "VEN_xxxx" for that device and select 'Permissions' and then tick "Allow" for "Full Control". Close Regedit and then continue with the installation of your device
    ---End---
I did that and was finally able to install the drivers.  Once that was completed, it asked me to reboot.
Now Windows XP doesn't boot up fully.  It gets to the part where it shows the splash screen for loading Windows XP and then shows a blank black screen at the time I would normally see the blue background to login etc.
Anyone know what the problem is here? I think it might be totally unrelated to my driver installation problem. The only thing I could think to do is upgrade my power supply but before I do that, any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the specs on the power supply:
    AGI HEC-300AR
    AC Input: 115/230V  50-60Hz  6/4A  Fuse Rating: F6.3AL/F6AL.250V-
    DC OUTPUT  +3.3V  +5V  +12V  -5V  -12V  +5Vsb
    MAX.A          20A      28A  12A    .5A  .8A     2A
    +5v&+3.3v Combined      165W Total Output 300W
Hope that tells you what I need.  Just looks like random numbers to me.
    Richard,
SB Live is in slot 4, how do I set it to IRQ 5 though?  Sorry, I'm just smart enough to be dangerous with computers.
Thanks for all the help you guys.  Keep the suggestions coming.  Does it look like I need a new power supply?

Left corner of what? Try the latest driver. Also, list the computer's spec in detail.

  • MSI GF4 Ti4200

Thanks for earlier replies (August);  No joy.  I have the latest MSI VGA drivers/VGA BIOS for this card eg.  VGA driver: V4.13.01.3000, VGA BIOS: V4.25.00.29.00.  My ASUS motherboard BIOS is set to AGP 4x, and VGA set to AGP (not PCI).  On the MSI Information screen, I can't change from AGP 1X to AGP 4X.  (or change any other options on that screen either).  I have sent feedback emails to MSI - no response - am I being optimistic?  Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
    I'm running a PIII/866, memory 256Mb/133.
    Howard

I had the same problem it's your VIA/Motherboard drivers but i have got MSI ultra ARU Motherboard which is VIA don't know about ASUS Motherboard.
I used the 4in1442v VIA drivers
Update them and you will have 4x ticked and you will have AGP traffic enable ticked, as in the MSI manual.
I also had a 2500 there about  increase in 3dmark2001se it should around 9500+

  • MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 TD64

I know I can OC my card to 300/600 but... it's stable?. It won't  burn??? How long is good to use it OC'ed???
And my P4 1.7 is OC'ed at 2. It's safe to keep it like this?

It's safe to keep it like this?
By definition only the default settings are safe.
If you want an opinion (which might be wrong, there are no garantees for overclocking) it is safe as long as you add RAMSinks and get a better GPU cooler.

  • Problem w/GF4 Ti4200 vtd-8x

I had problems with my new MSI GF4 Ti4200 vtd-8x 128mb running on a 648 Max mobo. The mobo supports agp 8x but both riva tuner and display properties showed it running on agp 4x. I would really appreciate any help I can get.

Try updating both mobo and VGA card drivers.
Do clean un-installation before installing new VGA driver...

  • GF4 Ti4200 and Win98 - HELP ! serious problem with drivers !

Ok, I could successfully install the MSI GF4 Ti4200 128 in Windows 2000, no problem there, everything is working.
I then installed Win98 as a second OS, I launch the drivers setup (from MSI CD) and I reboot as wanted by the setup. The PC reboots, the Win98 screen appears and suddenly...it reboots by itself, no message, no black screen.  I tried with other driver versions from NVidia and this time, I get a freezed black screen after the Win98 screen, I must press reset.  I had to enter the safe-mode to remove the drivers and get the usual 640x480 in 16 colors.
What's going on ? I tried to change my bios parameters, disable the virus detection option, everything that could make problems ... but no success. I also tried a second Win98 installation, with DX 8.1 installed before the drivers but still the same problem.
My system is AMD XP 2100 with Asus A7V333 motherboard - 300W for power, is the problem caused by some VIA chips ? I tried with their 4-1 drivers and stuff on the CD but it really doesn't want to work.
    Please help...

after searching a bit on the forum, I found a thread where someone pointed out a problem caused by memory, greets to him.  I have 1 gb of ram and I added these lines to my system.ini :
    [vcache]
    MinFileCache=65536
    MaxFileCache=131072
    ChunkSize=2048
    NameCache=4096
    DirectoryCache=96
    ConservativeSwapFileUsage=1
Values may change with more/less memory...And now it works perfectly in Win98.

  • Overclocking MSI GF4 ti4200td 4xagp

I was wondering if anyone knows what are reasonable overclocks for the msi gf4 ti4200 td 4x agp card. Today I adjusted the core to 300 and used the auto adjust feature for the memory and got it up to 567. Things are running stable but I was wondering if this is too high or if there are any limits I should not pass? Can it go higher? I only have the default heatsink and fan for the GPU and no heatsinks on the ram. Should I worry about temps?

If you aren't getting artifacts on your screen then I think it should be fine. Run a few more games and watch for colorful pixels. If you get them then clock down a bit.
Have Fun, don't blow your card
    Regards,
    Rob
